Writer was self-conscious about what an embarrassing shitshow the series' attempts at overarching lore had been turning into since the second game, and flushed it all down the toilet in the most definitive way possible, honestly based.
Simple. Izuru mislead Junko. He planted her into the NWP and tricked her into believing that she would be able to steal their bodies and ensure they continue being RoDs. They were never in any danger and Izuru trusted that he (Hajime) would be able to figure it out and come to the right decision
That's the biggest mistake you can make playing Danganornpa. The concept of the series is inherently stupid, and you'll only be disappointed getting invested.
Fortunately, I didn't make that mistake. I fully embraced how dumb it was from the get-go, and enjoyed the wacky ride.
Remember when the characters said out loud how the first couple trials of danganronpa 2 were just repeats of first couple trials from danganronpa 1 and how le heckin meta it was?
>why do you care about everything the franchise had told up to that point?
so, the only people who liked v3 are those who hated danganronpa in the first place?
i care about continuities
i'm not saying it was a GOOD or a well made canon, but that does not justify whatever the frick they did at the end of v3

The ones who enjoyed v3 were the people who thought the main draw were the murder mysteries.
The ones who disliked v3 where the tards who played a murder mystery VN and focused most on some nonsense world plot that was moronic from the start.

if your franchise begins with a moronic premise then i expect, i DEMAND that it fully delivers it instead of half assing it AND backtracking the whole thing

Sure, but that shit needed to be done away with for the sake of the franchise. Imagine, the next entry won't have that bs bogging it down and can instead focus fully on delivering a clever murder mystery game.

>i DEMAND that it fully delivers it
But it did. The story ended with DR3 and you don't fricking want it to keep going after the total dogshit that DR3 was.
I think it's an interesting point of view, to see V3 as a waste of time due to it not being a continuation of the previous games' stories. It was still the same style of murder mysteries, still the same gameplay. You've had two whole games before this to decide if you like what Danganronpa does, why is it suddenly a waste of time only after the third one?
The fact that you still feel so emotional about it means that the ending worked exactly the way Kodaka wanted it to.
Just because something can be labeled as "fake" or "fiction" it doesn't mean the emotions you felt and the characters you met aren't real in your heart. Saihara quite literally says this to Tsumugi's face
>Plan for Keebo to be the protagonist via Twitch Plays DR, but accidentally make a side character whose leadership is so compelling and engaging that no one will kill anyone >Forced to kickstart the murder game by doing it yourself and framing her >Audience revolts when returning fan favorite Rantaro from V2 and the cute new girl die so quickly >Keebo’s personality is too generic and boring, and Miu coopts him to stare at her literal shit, making the audience even angrier >Forced to make the detective with zero charisma the new main character >Second trial goes well, things are mostly on-schedule now, but the audience hates the Monokubs taking over the show after Monokuma gets depressed >Execs suddenly demand you “revive” Kaede by brainwashing her twin sister and using the Necronomicon, then advertise this twist heavily online >Fricking Angie gets in the way and insists on Rantaro, try to brainwash her into wanting Kaede, but she just breaks the flashback light >Serial killer finally gets triggered and kills two more filler characters before the revival, forcing it to be called off. Audience is up in arms and memes the seesaw and complains about your incest fetish being written into the show >Now Kaede's twin sister is awkwardly in the backlot waiting to be called for the rest of the season >Kokichi is causing problems, try to kill him using Miu but he gets her and Gonta killed instead >Gonta and Angie were the only characters your character had a connection with, you're now awkwardly hanging onto the rest of the group with nothing to do >Kokichi then ruins the entire game for his own amusement >The literal only thing that went as planned is the Kaito/Maki romance, and even then, the disease killed Kaito before his very expensive execution could, pissing off the execs even more >Forced to improvise a meta twist ending pulled out of your ass to salvage things >Die knowing that you killed your own favorite show
Being Tsumugi is suffering.
No. Like the game or hate the game and frick off. I fricking hate dipshits demanding you defend a position when their opinion could never change on it. Debates are fricking stupid for this reason.
What the frick were they supossed to do with the clusterfrick lore they had created? Make Junko the villian a third time? They basically pulled the plug since there was no way out of the corner they had painted themselves into.
Nothing wrong with the murder plots and trials being the main draw. They should've just canned the bigger narrative since it was moronic from the start.
Japs are mentally ill and ruin their own media for no reason all the time. People make a big deal with the ending of the third one but the problems started with the first and it was over when they released the second one.
The first Danganronpa would have been fine, there were issues but it was a fine enough standalone game. It left it fairly ambiguous what was happening in the world. Obviously in the first game Junko wasn't the mastermind behind everything, she was just the one who controlled Monokuma. Junko wasn't planned to be this important character and they just killed off her sister like nothing enough she should be the second most important person who is worshipped on the same level as Junko. The despair shit was obviously not supposed to be the entire focus of the story, it was just the goal of this one broadcast to show these kids kill eachother and induce despair.
Then the second game comes and because of the popularity of the first everything is rehashed, same plot line, Junko returning, despair returning. We have to please the fans so here's the same steaming pile of shit but this time it's simulation, frick you. What they did to Junko was criminal, from just the girl who was controlling monokuma she is the leader of the apocalypse who sent the entire world into chaos with one broadcast showing some kids kill eachother. Now her dead body lives on in a simulation and it was her plan all along, she wants to take over the minds of everyone in the world and have a billion Junkos run the world.
v3 ending? Frick that. You should probably have stopped playing when the troony coded a fully sentient computer from scratch while trapped in the building.
v3 is dogshit and morons like you just showcase that Japs can get away with anything. They can shit in your mouth and it's fine because next time they'll piss in your mouth.
The entire draw of Danganronpa was solving murders and then having a goofy minigame where you go over the evidence and solve the case. That's fun and v3 started off well enough. But then you have the president of the entire world be a maid who is actually behind every leader in the world, she is such an expert maid that she is actually cleaning up the world. And a fricking moron in a mask is a serial killer who killed hundreds of people and he'll do a moronic ritual where he obviously is the killer. And then a fricking robot will start flying around blowing up the place.
Forget the fricking shitty ending. v3 is dogshit. You can cut out the entire ending and v3 is dogshit. All those moronic monocubs, the moronic characters, the fricking annoying cult leader who convinces everyone to join her cult. Frick it all.
You're a troony freak who defends tranime games online for free. No one who isn't a virgin sits online defending tranime games where you hang out with the secret world leader who is behind every politician in the world because she the ultimate maid.
There is no gasoline huffer in the world who would defend this and think it's something cool that he should talk to other about and tell people how he enjoys it.
The theme of the game is lies and how the memory lights are just tools to frick with the contestants, if you take absurd memories at face value after learning that I don't know what to say.
>game is advertised prior to release as not being part of the same continuity as the previous games in the series >big twist revealed near the end of the game is that the game is not part of the same continuity as the previous games in the series
I don't get the controversy
Kodaka literally said that he wanted to cause despair in the player with the V3 ending. And from what I see in every fricking Danganronpa thread, he sure managed to do it.
Writer was self-conscious about what an embarrassing shitshow the series' attempts at overarching lore had been turning into since the second game, and flushed it all down the toilet in the most definitive way possible, honestly based.
I liked it as well, I couldn't have stomached another hope ending anyway.
but the game ends in "lol hope" in the end anyway
Remember that time that Hajime went super saiyan at the end of DR2 and it was supposed to be taken seriously?
I still don't understand how Hajime and the others resisted being reset into evil people.
Simple. Izuru mislead Junko. He planted her into the NWP and tricked her into believing that she would be able to steal their bodies and ensure they continue being RoDs. They were never in any danger and Izuru trusted that he (Hajime) would be able to figure it out and come to the right decision
I don't remember anything in the game pointing to the idea that Junko wasn't a real threat?
?t=9117
He breaks this down at about 2:32:00
>taken seriously

Was good, filters gays, but goes on for just a little too long. Would be perfect if the last trial was 30m shorter.
I swear the ending is the biggest brainlet-filter in all of gaming.
you gays never elaborate on this.
enlighten us then
1-2 are still canon. They are fiction in the v3 alternate world.
so the entirety of v3 is non canon? then why waste my goddamn time in the first place?
Why do you care about the hope/despair shit anyways? It was such a bad plot.
>why do you care about everything the franchise had told up to that point?
so, the only people who liked v3 are those who hated danganronpa in the first place?

the only waste if time was playing v3, which is not canon to the other games
You're missing my point. Was needing to see what happened after the other games the only reason you played V3?
not the only one, but a good 50%
None of it is real.
I liked it
She lied. Its clear as hell based on most other things being lies
Dangangays deserve to eat shit

Being Tsumugi is suffering.
The ending was shit, there's no justifying it.
And yet it still was better than 1 and 2.
It shits on Danganronpa. The cyberpunk dystopia is just a cherry on top.
I'm surprised they got away with calling a character a "cum dumpster".
Miu gave me a cuckold fetish and I don't know how to feel about it
The anime did more damage to this series than V3 did but that's not a conversation people seem to be willing to have.
That's unexpected but based the same time, I'm not gonna shame you for it because I get it.
It was good because the overarching despair/hope plot was awful dogshit. The only thing good and fun about the series are the killing games.
You literally can't. It's fricking awful.
No. Like the game or hate the game and frick off. I fricking hate dipshits demanding you defend a position when their opinion could never change on it. Debates are fricking stupid for this reason.

the fanbase actually wanted 53 danganronpas like a factory made sports franchise and the writer said no
Nothing wrong with the murder plots and trials being the main draw. They should've just canned the bigger narrative since it was moronic from the start.
i don't think visual novels should be churned out in a factory like FIFA games
>Justify
what do you mean?
Japs are mentally ill and ruin their own media for no reason all the time. People make a big deal with the ending of the third one but the problems started with the first and it was over when they released the second one.

v3 ending? Frick that. You should probably have stopped playing when the troony coded a fully sentient computer from scratch while trapped in the building.
V3 is good because it discards the bad parts you described. The devs realized the despair plot was dumb and made it non-canon to the V3 universe.
v3 is dogshit and morons like you just showcase that Japs can get away with anything. They can shit in your mouth and it's fine because next time they'll piss in your mouth.

v3 is the gift that keeps giving, bros. I hope 20 years from now I still get to read about filtered morons like this.
In 20 years you will be a skeleton in the ground because you are a troony homosexual who will kill it/thatself
I am a grown ass married man laughing at you.

The maid character being the leader of Japan is a fabricated memory.

Don't need to. I liked it, and my opinion is the only thing that matters
>the whole game is centered around lies
>DURRR THE VILLAIN ONLY SPEAKS THE TRUTH
You homosexuals are so fricking moronic
Why do so many BPD gamer girls like this game?
Genuine question.
It is a glorified VN with pretty boys, you don't need to be smart or good at videogames to play it.
I truly do not understand why so many people on Ganker think the ending was "an attack on the fans"
surprisingly, for the first time, this thread is actually filled with based anons who appreciate it. nature is healing
Kodaka literally said that he wanted to cause despair in the player with the V3 ending. And from what I see in every fricking Danganronpa thread, he sure managed to do it.
Reminder to Chiakigays.
Don't care, still impregnating Chiaki
keebo is so lucky
Literally an asexual robot that stares at Miu's literal shits.
Not gonna lie I'd pay good money to watch Miu take a shit.
very lucky indeed
