I like ASBR for the fanservice aspect but I wish we got a better designed game. Seeing the new HxH makes me want it even more than before.
The best thing about All Star Battle is that some of the best moments from the manga got animated and voiced way before the anime parts 3-7 got animated

Yeah the extra scenario for Part 5 for Fugo's DLC addition actually had him voice the final segments of Purple Haze Feedback's ending. Fugo can upgrade Purple Haze in-game to Purple Haze Distortion too. >Any examples?
There's a VN-space battle sim game called Galaxy Angel II and he's the voice actor for the main character. It's entirely in Japanese but it's one of the rare examples where a visual novel protagonist is FULLY voiced, down to his interior monologue.

It had a good amount of love in ASB. Fugo biting the capsule in his super is a reference to it.
I'm disappointed that Davidpro didn't give part 5 an extended ending where Fugo returns to the gang just like in PHF. He just fricks off and that's it, would've nice to see him reunited with the surviving gang

To be fair, because Araki is in love with Rohan, and Thus Spoke Rohan is a series made by Araki himself just like JJBA, he's able to get his own anime and live action series easily

Fugo is still a character that Araki "had" plans for but scrapped them. Isn't the prevailing theory that Green Day was reminiscent of Purple Haze's ability because Fugo was supposed to confront the crew in Rome to stop them?

I like the theory that Diavolo was originally going to get a requiem stand as an upgrade just like the previous villians and the next villains but Araki scrapped it because he wanted to rush part 5

It's a theory, all Araki gave is vague details about how Giorno would probably be the one to kill Fugo. Him giving up his plans for Fugo is the reason he encouraged the other Part 5 novel (not PHF) to be made.

Is there some reason Kakyoin is animated at like 60 fps while the others aren't? I always liked his abnormally smooth movements compared to the rest of the cast, my headcanon was that he was the first character to be animated.
Boggles my mind that the only licensed fighters Capcom has made are Marvel and Jojo. You'd think all the big manga publishers would be having a bidding war over hiring Capcom during their heyday.

Rather than the also good fanservice the thing I appreciate more about this game is how memorable it made 3 page nobodies like Khan, Devo or Chaka. Before reading the comic I always figured they'd all be as chatty as Alessi is, but we don't really get nearly enough material out of them to make a whole fighting game character, most of those moves and mannerisms come from the artists. I would have never imagined Devo never gets to throw a single punch, yet they made a whole ass character based on how he crawls out of that fridge and licks his wounds. Captain Commando's voice actor made Chaka such a charismatic weirdo etc and it all goes double for Midler of course even if her poses are based on Yukako her sprite is basically a Capcom og character. I like some of these Dio henchmen more than those part 5 fashion victim windbags just because this game made them look so slick.
