what's the point of this post
like do you actually think that I'm trans or is it just a really lame joke

Not him, but the reason is clear. They simply color coded the dialogue based on sex, I'm sure it wasn't some grand reason for it. It's simply aesthetic.
Just as his jab was pointless, speculating about a ultimately inconsequential design choice is equally pointless.
It's not just the routes, caves and buildings are smaller too and some are outright closed. Viridian Forest and Cinnabar Island are more or less gone too.

Lol. Lmao even

FRLG unironically did the two regions concept better than gen 2 even if Sevii isn't identified as it's own region

Sevii Islands are boring bullshit linear hallways. Who the frick is that a better post-game than an entire region to reexplore.
The Kanto post-game actually feels like some thought was put into, since there's a whole entire puzzle with the electric central to solve to get to Mt. Silver. Sevii Islands are literally bullshit levels just get to trading with other gen 3 games lmao.
Pretty much all dungeons. Gen 2 Kanto a
is a complete facade, I would have much rather they used the resources that went into it to flesh out and expand Johto instead of this gimped shit that is a total disservice to the region
Game Freak being incompetent, what else is new. They couldn't even fit Johto in, then when their boss bailed them out, they decided to shove in Kanto for some reason. Gewunners gain nothing because they've already been to Kanto, and Gentwoers lose because Johto is stuck being the smallest region instead of for the expansive super-region it should have been.
gsc, and by extension hgss, have a problem of not enough trainers in general. i go into mt. mortar and there's two people there. i go into the whirl islands and there isn't anybody.
I didn't really mind it in Johto and I don't mind the occasional empty dungeon (there were a few in RBY too like Diglett's Cave, Power Plant, Seafoam Islands, Cerulean Cave, although interestingly none of those are compulsory, I don't know if that's coincidence or not).
But what was jarring was that after playing RBY the Kanto in GSC was soooo empty in comparison. Still a fantastic game though, I really loved it and going to Kanto afterwards was amazing even if it was scaled down and more empty. Everyone at my school (who was still playing Pokemon at that point) was so hyped about it.

While I do think the fact that most of the dungeons lack any trainers is pretty lame, I think saying johto doesn't have enough trainers is wrong, if you ask me it has the perfect amount of trainers.

I' think Johto having comparatively less trainers is because many trainers give you rematches allow to to rematch them.
I remember someone posted the amount of trainers each region, I don't remember which region had the most or least.
Viridian Forest = gone
Not needed
Mt. Moon = pic related
SS Anne = gone
Not needed we have the ss aqua
Power Plant = gone
Existed for Zapdos, not needed
Rock Tunnel = slightly smaller
Rocket Hideout = gone
Would have been cool to continue the team Rocket plot but what else would they even do.
Pokemon Tower = gone
Not needed and has an explanation.
Safari Zone = gone
Not needed you can get the Pokémon from there elsewhere
Silph Co = gone
Existed because of RBY plot Not needed
Seafoam Islands = gone
Existed for Articuno, not needed
Pokemon Mansion = gone
Existed because of RBY plot Not needed and has a reason for missing
Victory Road = slightly smaller
Cerulean Cave = gone
Existed for Mewtwo, not needed
>be boss of vidya company >you got there in the first place because you are good at making vidya >have employees make them for you >employee calls you one day >"boss, we are stuck, pls help" >proceeds to help his employees like any good boss would
This is how any good business does anything. Not sure why you're surprised.
It's not just the routes, caves and buildings are smaller too and some are outright closed. Viridian Forest and Cinnabar Island are more or less gone too.
And seafoam islands, and cerulean cave, and lavender tower, and rocket hideout, and SS Anne...

what was yous favorite game for exploration exploration, ridge hopping, shortcuts, etc?
RSEmerald for exploration. The secret base locations added a lot because I after the ones with the largest amount of space and a lot of my friends had fought each other so their base locations were everywhere. Did not care for acrobikes much while the mach bike puzzles were pretty fun.
For ridge hopping and shortcuts in general gen 1 was the best. Jhoto has way too much unavoidable grass that is blatantly only there to make hedges desired. The very first area of the game is horrible about this. Gen IV and beyond are too ugly to be fun exploring.
I'm surprised you didn't mention the sea explorstion. Sure, tenta/gul encounter spam was much too repetitive, but the deep sea areas and short cuts, the completely optional town, the crashed ship, sky tower with the cracked floor were all really great. Especially how they were used for access to one shots like regis or repeatable ones like heart scales. Was pretty sad imo the first time they made the water really worth investigating it was introduced with such awful encounters and then basically never reimplemented.
3 and 4 are probably my favorite all around, what makes gen 4 ugly for you While i don't agree, my immediate guesses would be maybe the pseudo 3d, the actual pokemon designs, or the sprite design.
That very word causes frothing rage on this imageboard.
Real fans appreciate it for what the game it came from did to the gaming industry. An impact that puts it among titans like Pac-Man or Super Mario Bros.
I think because Sneasel was found on Mt Silver but Mt. silver has always been part of Johto.
sneasel is found on the route leading up to mt silver. the route itself is in kanto, mt silver is johto. it's also the first place you can find them in GSC. the same is true for the other johto-mons
My perfect Kanto game would be the same game(graphics and music included) just with completely revamped and rebalanced stats/movepools/types/pokemon distribution
Holy basado and checquito
I just want a reverse gen 2 where you start in Kanto and Johto is the post game, using B2W2 over world graphics but JP blue styled sprites
I recall hearing that technically Golem is the only "secret" mon in the first generation (aside from Mew obviously), as it can't be caught in the wild and no trainer in the entirety of Kanto uses it, meaning that you can't be aware of its existence unless you get lucky and happen to trade a graveler
now, of course in real life someone would have told you and in-game an NPC in Celadon I think tells you how Graveler turned into a different pokemon after a trade, but I still think it's a little neat fact, although i'm not completely sure if it's true or not

They're okay I guess. Perfectly competent remakes that do their job fine. In general I would recommend gen 1 over them simply because gen 1 is a unique experience, but there's nothing wrong with FRLG at all. I recently replayed them and the Sevii Island postgame is a lot more underwhelming than I remember, so Kanto is still the main selling point.
you could save an abridged version of your argument or bullet points of the most salient points in notepad or something. imo its largely pointless to enter a discussion but exclude the most important and interesting parts of it
Not him but just a few:
moronic trade restrictions
Abilities are 90% useless on all mons, look them up if you thinks it's bullshit.
The only ones that do anything either poison/paralyze every single fricking time which just means making more trips to heal
Not to mention the pokemon that get two abilities. Have fun catching a decent growlithe with intimidate, took me an hour last time
Berries are in the game but lolnoplanting
Lolnobreeding
Movepools are still shit, I don't care if charmander gets metal claw
Nature's and the ev system is just more min max bullshit. Old ev system you can unga bunga your way using any shitmon and it would grow powerful enough to be end game material

thanks for the detailed argument. i only played green twice, once at launch and a nuzlocke almost a decade ago, so I am completely ignorant as to what would qualify as bullshit. though I planned to replay it again while thinking of your list.
would you mind complimenting this with your preferences for what makes a good game? this isn't an attempt at the cheap tactic of dismissing your position because you happen to enjoy entry x, but because I'm sincerely interested in having the perspectives of others as an additional lens through which to consider the game
Sure. Every area that isn't a dungeon looks like shit, the characters look like shit and the soundtrack is shit but it's still the complete version of Kanto with 7 extra islands, Trainer Tower and some mini games.
I don't understand this, isn't it common for people where you live to enjoy multiple pokemon games? I'd assume that's the case most places. Why is it so tribal here?
because most people here don't actually like pokemon. Most probably weren't even born when Pokemon came out They're not even real Genwunners, just zoomers trying to fit in, they only latch onto Kanto because Game Freak and TPC shills Gen 1 so much. They have to shit on Johto to make Kanto look better because they don't actually like Kanto.
but if we take that position where does that leave us? I don't think there's a productive way forward with that premise
what if I just ask you what you like about pokemon and you ask me? I feel like that's infinitely better than such a pessimistic presumption
Is there any reason to play gen 1 games when gen 2 exists?
Lol. Lmao even
Now add FRLG and HGSS
No
Fine I'll do it myself
This is not gen 1 nor gen 2, it's bastardized cancer
Now add LGPE.
I still don't understand why the frick they did the red text for female npcs in FRLG
to trigger troons like you

Is amany of substance actually missing, it just seems like they made the routes shorted and swishes everything closed other.

Not defending viridian forest or mt moon, but Blaine living in a tiny cave was the whole point and HGSS ruins it.
he still lives in a poorly quickly rearranged place in HGSS just not completely creatively bankrupt

True gamers play Gen 1 and 2 together
>silver
>crystal
why no gold, is he the implied pc?
Gen 2 is peak but gen 1 is classic, even with all the bugs. Gen 1 launched the greatest gaming empire ever created.
I play all of them.
Where's BW2?
Have it but haven't started it yet.
I've only started Y so far.
Thanks. Makes me sad though I can't bring all of them to the newer gens.
Where's XY?
Based, based pokemon world explorer, may you catch em' all
That's so lovely. I hope you have a good day, night, week, month, year, and life anon

huh, forgot about that. nice catch
They should've made Arbok dual poison/dark type.
