You're given hope she can fix her engine entirely, you fall in love, turns out you can't fix the engine, she resigns herself to death, but then she actually reveals she's deeply angry and upset about dying because she swore she'd never willingly go back, then when all is said and done she's ready to die and at the last second you turn it all around and it's now the two of you in hell and she's glad you're there with her. This seems as good as it gets in regards to endings if you ask me.

Why the frick would you want to go to another area that's unrelated to the main story ? That make no fricking sense. Anyway, fixing companion's endings and give us closure, like Lae'zel going to war in the Astral Plane against the Undying Queen, Wyll after he went to hell, hunting devils and demons, Astarion if he became ascended vampire, how people of Baldur's Gate are fighting him and (You) if you don't have a lover and disappear into obscurity or help rebuild the city, you know, shit like that, Mass Effect or Fallout style.
