Sad. For Sony it makes sense, they got here by thinking their big movie AAA sloppers were their selling point while most people who play on other platforms to begin with obviously prefer the few actual games that were exclusives.
I remember getting it for free on PS+ (yes, I know "free" as in complimentary) and I stopped playing as soon as the first side quest the game gives you is a literal fetch quest to find and catch a bunch of farm chickens. I was already thinking of quitting when the game literally starts you off by having you walk slowly around in a fat suit (or diving suit or whatever the frick it was), but the fetch quest was what made me realize that I didn't want to waste my time with this shit. If that's the first side quest you throw at us, I can't imagine how much more tedious and worse the other side quests would get.
hopefully the PS5 version is free for PS4 owners. will be interesting to see how much difference good performance makes, and how much better performance will be - dare i hope for 120fps?

gravity rush remastered is PS4 exclusive. it's good for PS4 standards at 1080p 60fps, but it predates the pro, so it doesn't do higher resolutions. a better PS5 version would be a luxury but not a necessity as it is for 2.
its funny that the pro release predates GR1 for less than a year. Sony could easy implemented better textures, but they only do it for moviegames like horizon which was released just two months after remaster.

There was a mode where players could do these online treasure hunts where you try to find a treasure and were guided by taking a picture of it. It resulted in people taking really cute pics of Kat and basically this was the most popular and surefire way to make sure people saw them.
Could to ghost races for certain missions.
Scoreboard system.
You could send and receive challenges from players where if you could beat their score or time in a certain mission you'd get shit.
Also, a lot of the costumes you could get where tied behind this currency you got from online points or something.
It didn't die, it was killed. And it is a big loss, it was the only realistic way to unlock all this stuff which gave the game a good feeling of progression.

Dunno why you guys would expect them to bring back the online after they literally killed it even on PS4, even worst there wasn't even a patch to let you get the dusty token costumes offline so after the online stuff was killed, if you didn't get them already, they're lost forever unless you hack your save file.

I never got a physical copy of the vita version because it was on Playstation Plus. My local game store had a used copy for $27 forever, and I regret not buying it.
Same game, but with all the DLC included, 60fps. It looks gorgeous on a big screen. I guess the one drawback is that you could no longer touch Kat and have her react to it. Which is bullshit, they shoulda let you by using the touchpad, maybe if you tapped it she'd at least react. In the vita she had different reactions for different parts of where you touched her, no?

I played the ps4 version first, and I remember being confused when she would flinch every time I tapped the touchpad, only after searching online did I discover that it's a feature from the Vita version that they kept in.
Vita is 720x408 30fps with slowdown, PS4 is 1080p 60fps stable with higher quality assets. Also includes the DLC by default. Biggest benefits are framerate, and using gyro not requiring tilting the screen you're looking at. Also sliding just using the triggers instead of touch controls.
If you play on Vita I'd advise overclocking for better performance, and definitely installing the DLC. Don't try resolution patches as they cause a lot of issues.
I'm the only person in the world that is hopeful GR3 WILL happen AND that it will be a joint project between Bokeh and Team Asobi (the two dev teams JapanStudio got split into)

I'm not even the guy you were talking to. I replayed the PS2 and PS3 versions of Ico and SotC back to back and the PS3 remasters look a lot worse. The only upside to the remasters is the higher resolution (and that really only applies to Ico, the SotC remaster is only 720p), and if that's all you care about then you might as well just play them on PCSX2 in whatever resolution and framerate that you want. If you want all the proper visuals and the look and feel that the devs intended then you have to play the PS2 originals.
you should be able to see the pattern that they don't do "remasters" anymore and any future ports they do will be "remakes" in the vein of SOTC and demon's souls. they have to do it to justify all their employees and the budget they get.
but anyway, SIE internal documents leaked from insomniac from not long ago say bluepoint is working on an original game and nothing else.
Bluepoint fricked with the time trial mode in the Shadow of the Colossus PS3 remaster to the point that that players had to use autistic speedrun strats to get in under par. The worst of which was the 3rd colossus which had it's time limit cut so insanely short that you are required to exploit physics bugs and try and get a frame-perfect launch off of the tip of his sword to land directly on his head.
and this is all without mentioning all the broken visual effects in SOTC, Ico and the MGS collection. Just look at what they did to the End's bossfight in that game.

Wonderful news although I feel like they should port the first game too. It was a really nice gem for the PS Vita and I loved replaying it on the PS4. Both games are pretty distinct from each other aesthetically and I feel like it's best to play them both if it's your first time.

You can already play 1 on the PS5 at 60fps. I doubt they would go back and redo any of the assets in 4k. I honestly think the 2 remaster would pretty much just be a 60fps patch.

To be tbh, Gravity Rush was the one video game that almost pushed me into buying a Vita. I'm so glad I got it on PS4, but sad I missed out on the physical edition and that they're expensive as frick now. Same game, but with all the DLC included, 60fps. It looks gorgeous on a big screen. I guess the one drawback is that you could no longer touch Kat and have her react to it. Which is bullshit, they shoulda let you by using the touchpad, maybe if you tapped it she'd at least react. In the vita she had different reactions for different parts of where you touched her, no?

I played the ps4 version first, and I remember being confused when she would flinch every time I tapped the touchpad, only after searching online did I discover that it's a feature from the Vita version that they kept in.
Vita is 720x408 30fps with slowdown, PS4 is 1080p 60fps stable with higher quality assets. Also includes the DLC by default. Biggest benefits are framerate, and using gyro not requiring tilting the screen you're looking at. Also sliding just using the triggers instead of touch controls.
If you play on Vita I'd advise overclocking for better performance, and definitely installing the DLC. Don't try resolution patches as they cause a lot of issues.

I'm not even the guy you were talking to. I replayed the PS2 and PS3 versions of Ico and SotC back to back and the PS3 remasters look a lot worse. The only upside to the remasters is the higher resolution (and that really only applies to Ico, the SotC remaster is only 720p), and if that's all you care about then you might as well just play them on PCSX2 in whatever resolution and framerate that you want. If you want all the proper visuals and the look and feel that the devs intended then you have to play the PS2 originals.
you should be able to see the pattern that they don't do "remasters" anymore and any future ports they do will be "remakes" in the vein of SOTC and demon's souls. they have to do it to justify all their employees and the budget they get.
but anyway, SIE internal documents leaked from insomniac from not long ago say bluepoint is working on an original game and nothing else.

Bluepoint fricked with the time trial mode in the Shadow of the Colossus PS3 remaster to the point that that players had to use autistic speedrun strats to get in under par. The worst of which was the 3rd colossus which had it's time limit cut so insanely short that you are required to exploit physics bugs and try and get a frame-perfect launch off of the tip of his sword to land directly on his head.
and this is all without mentioning all the broken visual effects in SOTC, Ico and the MGS collection. Just look at what they did to the End's bossfight in that game.

Wonderful news although I feel like they should port the first game too. It was a really nice gem for the PS Vita and I loved replaying it on the PS4. Both games are pretty distinct from each other aesthetically and I feel like it's best to play them both if it's your first time.
