I really liked how a lot of the level music was done by long-forgotten artists and idols that hadn't really gotten work in years. That was nice of the devs.
no, he doesn't just have different taste, he has bad taste. there are literally hundreds of better games but he made a thread about this one because he is a weeb homosexual. get owned moron.
its too short
they should have combined 1 and 2 in the remaster
That would've been great.
I wish they would have gotten the budget to give every model in the game the same treatment that the Prince's got. I honestly prefer playing the PS2 version of the first game to Reroll just because the art style looks a little more consistent.
No it's not. We Love Katamari shouldn't have been made and doesn't understand the cute appeal of Katamari Damacy. The game was conceived out of the idea of rolling a ball and Katamari damacy is built around the entire idea of getting bigger and bigger, it's why there's one map. We Love Katamari is the commercialized bastardization of Keita Takahashis artist vision and production, even if it has good gameplay it is not better than Damacy which is an actual artistic product
I don't care about their visions or anything, it's the better game.

Bit pointless now that the goal's been reached anyway. Wattam's got a similar aesthetic and wacky thing going on but it's a bit more of a "game" if you know what I mean. Like tangible objectives to hit and the like.
That's not true at all. Takahasi was reluctant to make a sequel because he didn't think he could make the game unique. However, he was able to succeed with all the weird and experimental stages the second game has compared to the first. Everything after the second game is a commercialized bastardization that he had no input on.
It's definitely one of the best franchises for sure, though it was sure milked to death.
Katamari Forever was a real good send-off game, but they had to keep going.
Completely forgot this song existed despite it being one of WLK's best. Thank you for reminding me.

Why do I feel blue listening to japanese kids choir? ;-;
Cherry Tree Times doesn't make me sad, but it's a very emotional song nonetheless. It makes me feel very grateful/optimistic, though that's just Katamari in general for me.
Also completely missed Wattam being a thing, know that's not retro by any means, but thanks to the anons that mentioned it nonetheless. Imma torrent it, lookin' good, make myself comfy.
I am reminded of this one image of various Japanese developers, their mugshots, and their favorite games, and the designer of this game used his corporate badge photograph for his mugshot, and listed his own game as his favorite game.
😀
so happy 🙂
don't know if best ever but it's really great
the sequel was pretty fun too with the chaotic coop mode
also "real" tank controls, surprised that not more games had that with the placement of the analog sticks on the PS controllers
dont worry
do your best
its too short

For me, it's Lonely Rolling Star
Correct!
Honestly it really is a work of genius.

The singer of the original theme was one of the 2 vocalists for the Fist of the North Star theme, the one with the higher-pitched voice.
some may argue that Katamari Forever is better. haven't played this one yet but i will once i'm done with Damacy.
shit i meant 'we love Katamari '
you are mentally moronic.
OP has different tastes than yours. taste is subjective and has little to do with intelligence.
This is Ganker. Taste is a matter of undeserved supriority round these parts, boy!
my bad
no, he doesn't just have different taste, he has bad taste. there are literally hundreds of better games but he made a thread about this one because he is a weeb homosexual. get owned moron.
name 100 better games
Madden Football - all versions and all years
You're welcome.
>he is a weeb homosexual
op here... you're not wrong
We Love Katamari is better.
I agree
is it best in series though?
Yeah, it is. The first two games are so good.
That would've been great.

Yup.

There's always Nobu Nobu Boy and Wattam if you want Takahashi's pure unfiltered vision.
Noby Noby Boy has been pulled from all market places
Bit pointless now that the goal's been reached anyway. Wattam's got a similar aesthetic and wacky thing going on but it's a bit more of a "game" if you know what I mean. Like tangible objectives to hit and the like.
You're forgetting that Takahashi also made We Katamari and it's a big reason why the plot is about pandering to the fans.
He made it reluctantly because they were going to make it without him as well
>NOOOO THE CREATOR DIDN'T WANT TO MAKE IT SO IT IS WRONG AND BAD
Frick yourself autist, We Love Katamari is infinitely better than the original.

there I said it
This game pisses me off. I'm really bad at it and it's incredibly frustrating with a constant timer. I like the music though.
if your issue is bumping into shit too much the sequel is less rigid with that, although the levels are also harder.
I love the soundtrack. And I still remember that trippy intro sequence, just beautiful.
PS. Got the Switch port a while ago, didn't love any of the control schemes if I'm being honest. I was way better at the game with a PS2 pad.
The timers are inexcusable. Why build such a unique, beautiful world and then force the player to rush blindly through it all? Huge shame.
>that firefly level in the second one
>the alarm starts blaring just in time to ruin the song's climax
What in the GODDAMN FRICK
yeah the alarm does suck. i wish there was a way to turn it off
>Why build such a unique, beautiful world and then force the player to rush blindly through it all?
Sonic...
git gud and unlock infinite mode then
Your reward for not being a shitter at the game is the mode without a timer.
Unironically a work of art
Everybody post your favorite katamari songs

Does it count if my favourite isn't /vr/?

Bra you got to play that game high out of your mind
