don't care, i've passed my loot hoarding phase. I don't need to play the same game 45 times. In cyberpunk I looted so much fricking garbage that it became a nightmare to look at. Be autistic about this if you want but I couldn't care less.

But what if an enemy has cool armor. It will be RNG whether you get the armor or you have to find more of the same enemy and have to kill those too and just hope the armor is lootable from one of them. It makes a nice easy system into a complete hassle.

From a realism point of view, this lends some credibility to the idea that no space suit is a 'one size fits all'. From a gameplay point of view, this stops you being guaranteed the best shit just because you looked up on the wiki who you can stealth kill and cheese for their items

bcuz searching "where to find xx" is so much harder and also adds to realism. whitoid 7 year olds have such cringe logic.

So let players repair it then for maximum realism if that's your main concern?

Haha, you think you'll get to wear armor?
No, you'll have your default issue space suit than you can upgrade and that'll be it

let's be real, it's not Bethesda's first go around. if they didn't make it so the armor dropped then it obviously would make the game broken or less fun in some way, so they removed the option for it to drop early. don't forget that while it may have cutting edge combat and space sim mechanics it still is pretty hardcore RPG after all.

Maybe they don't wear "armor" like npcs in past games, and now just come fully stock like other games. For instance in Cyberpunk if someone has cool shit, you generally will not be able to wear it because its meant to look cool not to wear.

    >you play as a virgin
    >the first bosses are 100% aryans who wear variants of the same golden spacesuits, they want to kill you on sight
    >every time they kill you they say "such an inferior being, will do good soap"
    >The final boss is a troony who is revealed to be the actual hero who is trying to protect the universe from the actual villain which is a conservative white man who insist on talking to you with female or male pronouns despite no one else doing this.
    >The helpful NPCs are all black astronauts who have white scientist(female) by their side
    >All of the planets will have female bosses, you often will beat an alien and then a stronger female boss will appear.
    >There will be a mention of gamergate (it's very subtle)
    >One of the NPCs will reference Rosa Parks
    >When you get the option to change your appearance (yes even gender) an NPC will tell you "I'm glad you are proud of who you really are"
    >there is a BLM mural inside a cave that is all way to end of the universe, the description says "a painting dedícated to those brave space explores looking for freedom outside of the Starfield" once you find this you can will be able to get an item called "moon boots of Mr. King" (reference to Rodney King, victim of Police brutality)
    >The merchant NPCs will often mention of how there's always "evil beings" stealing the lighting of more deserving people (probably a reference to how Black folk believe that Edison stole a Black folk invention when he made the lightbulb despite this not being true)
    >There's a Chadwick Bozeman reference, in a holographic sign who tells the story of a pioneer that was "as fierce as a panther"

the "armor" or deadra is achually their skin.

Im glad this is triggering certain people. Being able to loot everything and go to specific places for certain armour is just playing a game on easy mode. Id rather work and grind towards better equipment

So from what we know you can always loot the enemy's weapons, it's just their armor that seems to only be looted on an RNG basis (so sometimes you can loot a piece or two, sometimes you can't loot any armor).
There are actually a few potential explanations.
    1. Balancing - They just wanted to limit/restrict the player's resources more in this game, there might even be a skill/perk based around increasing armor loot chance.
    2. Immersion - It could be meant to simulate the damage the enemy's armor took when you killed them.

My money is on 1 honestly, this feels like an attempt to curtail the player's ability to easily farm resources by significantly reducing the amount of loot that comes from killing enemies (kinda like how in Skyrim, Draugr loot tables were designed such that they never dropped anything valuable, had no lootable armor, shit weapons, etc).

  18. 9 months ago

Because your spaceship have weight limit and autists like me just looted everything then walked slowly to drop that loot in your base/house, this shit won't fly in Starfield because your ship won't fly with that much garbage on board.

  19. 9 months ago
    Anonymous

    Armour still drops.
    It's RNG.
    Probably just for balancing.

      Anonymous

What do you think the chances are of a skill line in the game that progressively increases your armor loot chance until the final one puts it at 100 percent?

Because I think it's probably pretty likely.

        Anonymous

There already is a skill for that.
I don't think it goes to 100% even if maxed out.
Im pretty sure I saw a skill based around loot drops. I'll have to look for it.
