She's not that interesting
>muh why didn't this character get milked for 10+ iterations and extra spinoffs? what the fuck crapcom!!
>Creating new character bad
Explain how Nero went from shit to loved? As far as I remember before 5, EVERYONE hated Nero.
read what I wrote and please try again
exactly where did I say making a new character was bad?
>EVERYONE hated Nero.
dont think so, mostly since Dante was already in the trailers for DMC4 so people knew they will play as him
the main problem was the location reuse
Oh, wow. Thanks for the spoiler, asshole.
who cares, VIII was shit and not worth playing
The real problem? It sold well. Capcom has no reason to think about how to make the new RE game.
>create the supreme mommy
>her part in the game lasts less than an hour
>kills her so no more mommy in the next game
>still no puppets
>fell hard for the meme
>best girl in all of japanese gayming
bro u gay
The cast was amazing, killing them all off was weird.
I get they waned to wrap up Ethan storyline and bring back the old cast, but they should have left some of them to interconnect the whole franchise.
Duke was really cool too, the fact he was actually a supportive friend to Ethan and played part in the story was a surprise, lot of potential to do more with the story.
But at lest its self contained, we wont have to wait for any sequels, its one and done.
>one and done
You have no idea how modern writers work, I’m sure lady D will be revived “somehow” in A few years
>has most miscast voice actor in your path
They weren't as popular as the RE OGs
Resident Evil hit a wall. You can't really create new characters in the franchise to take the center stage anymore. It would be like trying to create a fifth Ninja Turtle from TMNT and we all know that's a disaster.
This makes no sense since Both RE7 and RE8 are sucessfull games meaning RE with new characters CAN work.Ethan isnt supposed to be the 5th turtle because his character never wanted to fight the fight in the first place. Both of his games is about saving his loved ones and he did.
How can you people insist that the classic 4 ar e more interesting than the Winters when you know they will never gonna change? They are the same since the 90s with Leon being a exception...never changing since 2006.
Exactly. The problem with RE was making the franchise about the main characters of the first games.
RE1 worked, RE2 worked. They introduced new characters.
RE3 then reintroduced Jill. RE4 then reintroduced Leon.
RE:CV reintroduced Claire.
They should've kept going with new characters but keeping the now-main-ones on the background.
Now? It is too late. Too established.
RE7 and 8 got away with it because it broke the 3rd person shooter thing and became a first person survival game.
7 and 8 should have taken place in their own continuity with no tie to Umbrella or Bioweapons or Zombie Viruses. 7 Should would have been fine just being about the mutant immortal hillbillies and their mold, and 8 would have been better just being a game about being about Werewolves, Vampires and Mermen. In fact 8 is especially hurt by being in the original continuity because it deflates the horror since you're not actually being hunted by supernatural shit, it's just mutants that by sheer coincidence happen to look like the cast of a Hammer Horror Film.
Re7 is the highest selling resident evil game with re2make coming in second, than 5>6>8>etc
Ethan games were petty popular.
I also feel like 8 would have been higher if capcom stuck to the horror vision 7/2make had instead of moving away from it in 8/3make. Thats the worse part of those games, more action slop outside of a single segment in 8 that was more like silent hill than re. It was still the best part of that game lol.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this what’s influencing capcom to make 4make have a more horror vibe than the original game.
Did you account for the world's population? Accounting for the access to playable platforms?
Don't get me wrong, I know RE7 was a success, I loved it and I am replaying it currently, but it was the "highest selling" because nowadays everyone and their mothers can buy a platform to play it in.
Idk thats capcoms official website, im just going to assume they know how much money they make.
Re7 even before the dlc was only behind 5, with the excellent dlc and next gen launch im sure some people double dipped and bought gold on those platforms too but it is what it is.
It's because no one has ever cared about the Ethan family and the real crime is they never killed off bitches like Mia who got away with her crimes and same to Ada Wong the original Mary Sue of the franchise and true main villain. Wesker would have never progressed with his global scheme without Ada Wong's services.
And the big problem with Resident Evil is that they have effectively created just about all the popular character archetypes necessary in any given franchise like Chris and Leon. Now Resident Evil must go DOWN and lose relevance. Things escalated way too much in Resident Evil to the point everyone in the world knows about these mutated monsters that there are global organizations designed to find them and kill them all as well as arrest the criminal scientists who keep making them. It all feels like it's no longer about horrifying events. And it's bullshit Mother Miranda somehow managed to keep her territory hidden away from the eyes of Chris and his organization since BEFORE Spencer started Umbrella it's like come on by now the whole world knows about these monsters.
now the dust has settled, is leon really a gay?
He kind of is, I mean he's devoted his youth and old age to a woman who will never love him and never give him sex despite he not being ugly. And he rejects any given prime pussy thrown his way. Leon has such an extreme case of onitis? That he may as well be a homosexual. Wasting his virile years for a sociopath who doesn't genuinely care about him while ignoring any other options.
he just has a serious case of the yellow fever
Well Him and ada are a perfect match. Ada boyfriend she mentions in ps1 re was a white blonde dude. She has a photo of them when you control her
Or maybe Leon's options are bad? Dating your boss' daughter is a big no in real life. And Helena is boring trash. Capcom never gave Leon a better option.
>Capcom never gave Leon a better option.
WHAT ABOUT MY SISTER, YOU FUCKING GLOWIE??? GIVE ME SOME GODDAMNED NEPHEWS!!!
>infinite darkness literally has a moment where Claire calls Leon out for being a glowie
thanks for reminding me kek
Leon has oneits more severe than the guy who made the cartoon “Doug.”
I don’t think they wanted to do re8 and was surprised by re7 success forcing them to continue.
Re7 is a very cost efficient title mostly stealing ideas from the first game built up to be a VR game first and foremost which is the only reason i think its a first person game tbh.
But people liked re7 like a lot even without VR to the point its pretty common to hear re7 was the game that rebirthed capcom, and it went on to be there second highest selling game in the entire companies history with only monster hunter world above it.
Re8 instead just quickly steals ideas from re4, tries to patch in 3rd person something capcom clearly is more comfortable working with, and basically killed that entire story line as fast as possible.
Good. They're shit characters from a shit game. Let's start over.
