I wish they would have just given him a Blue Mage tree to go down. It would help with his identity. Like when you think Yuna you think White Mage, Rikku/Thief, Auron/Samurai, etc. I wonder what kinds of unique abilities would be on a Blue Mage sphere grid.
I'd have kept the Blue Mage overdrive thing since I can't see Blue Mage working in the Sphere grid as the point of it is to get abilities from enemies.
I'd have made his grid either a Red Mage grid with all the early black magic and white magic spells, or get rid of Jump in the overdrive and made it a Dragoon grid with Jump in it and a couple of other Dragoon abilities from Freya's tree in FF9 (Lancer, Reis Wind etc.)

Could've made overdrives equippable, then made the blue mage tree have tons of slots to use an assortment at once, while everyone else is making due with only a couple.
Kimhari is the best healer in the game. He gets curaga and holy before even Yuna. The problem is people don't know where to go with him and end up with a crappy version of lulu or the albhed girl but he's really a healer

First of all, getting a spell first is meaningless. Kimahri can pierce armor first, that doesn't mean Auron isn't better in every way.
Second, having a spell means little when your statblock isn't that of a healer. Yuna's MP pool is deeper, her Magic is higher, she gets more out of her spells.

He is indeed a moron filter - morons waste time and resources on a useless, inefficient character, while intelligent players only use him to steal level 3 key spheres from biran & yenke and otherwise leave him rotting on the bench.
I really wish we could get another classic round based FF game again. X's combat system proves it can easily stand the test of time. It was fast and tactical and the bar that told you whose turn it is next was so fricking good. Only I wish they gave us 4 characters on the field instead of 3.

Kimahri in the demo was set up as a Red Mage, and he felt far more useful there than in the actual game.
Yeah, to my knowledge it is the one fight in all of FFX where enemy stats are scaled. Unless you count fighting your own Aeons at the end.

If you want to cheese the game, go back to Djose highroad and steal as many petrify grenades as your sanity allows. Works on almost everything.

FFX's combat is very underrated weirdly enough. I wish my life were a mess again so I could replay it and really get into it.
