From the looks of a recent interview Yoshi P did, I think he wants to move on from FF and create a new IP. He said he doesn't want to make FF17. He says he's going to be tied to FF14 for the rest of his life but I think he wants to do his own thing now.
I just want Verum Rex bros. I just want Versus. You can't wienertease a Versus XIII 2011 trailer in the secret ending only to backtrack and give us KH4
Nomura actually said he wanted to do Verum Rex first but he didn't want to keep fans of Sora waiting too long. Fricking hell. I want Versus XIII 2.0 we've had 20+ goddamn years of Sora and KH
Verum Rex/Versus will be his final magnus opus at Square before he retires. He's already 53 this year. 55/56 when KH4 comes out. Based on his usual release schedule Verum would be out when he's 60. Despite that, I still want him to at least direct a mainline FF, at least once before he leaves. He deserved it. Whether you Black folk like it or not, his print is all over FF, from limit breaks, Gilgamesh, Shadow, some monster designs, all of the iconic characters from FFVII and beyond.
But we got the true big bad of the series now. >Introduced as lol funny troll coat man >is actually a legit psychopath >DARKNESS killed all his friends >Came up a 13D chess move by making his apprentices fight each other so DARKNESS can enter their hearts and the hero of light can kill them and himself to rid the world of DARKNESS for good >His plan directly caused a war involving the death of thousands of children
>true big bad
No, the real big bad is going to be the King of Darknesses who killed his friends in the first place. The story is designed to keep going forever.
Cliffhanger of kh3 was shit. Sora is in another world and maybe something happens. Yawn. I has never been worst time to be kh fan. I'm guessing this mobile game is going to retcon and make more shit up to raise the imaginary stakes of kh4.
i know its hard to remember but melody of memory exists and moved the plot a inch further than kh3
Nomura actually said he wanted to do Verum Rex first but he didn't want to keep fans of Sora waiting too long. Fricking hell. I want Versus XIII 2.0 we've had 20+ goddamn years of Sora and KH

I'm guessing because KH 3 ended on a cliffhanger. He didn't want people to wait so long for the conclusion.
god nomura is so shit. hes like a dumb kid drawing spiky hair on everyone cause its edgy. he wouldn't be so shit if he just contained his autism to the KH series but it leaked over and wrecked the mainline FF now.
But wasn't there a whole thing in X or Dark Road, or whatever the frick where they went to the Disney. Despite the fact they shouldn't exist yet because this was the world where it all the other worlds came from?
>another gatcha game where the KH characters are just equippable items and not your party members >you're playing your own avatar and ONLY your own avatar once again
Good to know they did not learn anything from the failure of UX.
UX wasn't a failure anon, together with the browser version it lasted eight years which is enormous for a mobile game. It was mostly shit though and the worst part is they didn't create an abridged offline version. Hopefully that will be different for Missing Link.
Anon it was on zombie mode even before it relaunched it as Union Cross. Dark Road was a just a last ditch attempt to recoup losses. No shit the game died before they even finished DR's story.
I agree but look at some other SE mobile games like The First Soldier and UX was a success by every metric. If Dark Road wouldn't have been the lazy piece of shit we got maybe it would still be alive.
>UX wasn't a failure anon
Bruh, sensortower was showing that UX was making LESS than $50k/month (and there's no way to tell just how much less it was) during its last years for both JP and global (while FF, DQ and even fricking SaGa gacha games were making millions a month). Gacha games that make less than $100-200k/month are considered a failure (Blazblue gacha was shutdown within a year after launch and it was stated that it earned only $100k during last month; Echoes of Mana (pic related) was bombing LESS than UX yet it was also shutdown within a year). The only reason UX was alive for so long is because it was Nomura's pet project, and we all know just for how long Square-Enix allows Nomura to waste money before they run out of patience. The company has frickall talents left and they tend not to piss off the senior ones too early.
Maybe you're right, on the other hand UX wasn't very maintenance heavy. I think they merged the NA and JP team in the last three years and most new content was already finished with the exception of the cutscenes (they had only one animator for most of UX runtime and got a second one for Dark Road). So they still could have made a profit when just one guy fumbled with an editor to make new events and made some banners.
I'm more surprised how much Echoes of Mana made, that games was terrible on all fronts.
>on the other hand UX wasn't very maintenance heavy
Anon, that's NEVER the issue with gacha games. If maintenance was the only issue with keeping gacha games alive then a ton of them would still be alive to this day.
Just like weekly shounen magazines axe the series that get stuck in last few places for too long in terms of sales, publishers rush EoS for gacha games that make garbage profit for several months straight. To them it's not worth keeping alive something that makes frickall profit when you can use the same people to support successful gacha games or go back to "throw everything at the wall and check what sticks to it" method of development.
The exception to this rule are developers who rely solely on the profit of their gacha games - they don't tend to rush with EoS every gacha game that doesn't reach the minimum quota.
It can't be all Nomura's influence that UX lived as long as it did though, don't you think First Soldier would have survived a bit longer then?

>don't you think First Soldier would have survived a bit longer then
I doubt Nomura cares about FF7 more than KH series - First Soldier was the very example of "throw everything at the wall and check what sticks to it" method of development. It didn't stick to the wall, so the game was done. FF7 still has several ongoing projects, and I'm pretty sure those pointless OC from First Soldier were already reused in Ever Crisis, another FF7 gacha game. Actually, it's common for Nomura to reuse his characters from failed games - he already reused Versus XIII as Verum Rex in KH3.
Meanwhile KH series is the main thing he cares about and I'm sure he's willing to abuse his authority to do whatever he wants with it (as long as Disney are fine with it).

First soldier was a battle royale for some inexplicable reason, Missing Link is like an actual KH game, unlike KHux, so I can't imagine it will do as bad as First Soldier. The only thing different is the graphics style, the rest will stay pretty much the same. I hope the pet system returns.

so KH as normal
In Dark Road it was revealed that the masters actually knew more about how darkness works then what was revealed in UX, so essentially this game could reveal more of the Master of Master's motives and probably explain some open question of UX (although that's unlikely). On top of that we know Brain is in the game and some ancestors of Xehanort as well.
So if you liked the story of X, UX and Dark Road it will probably more of that. In the end it will be of very little consequence for KHIV, some of it might even be retconned like it was done in KHIII with the secret report.
It takes place after Union X/Dark Road. So it's during the ancient Keyblade time

Sweet a comfy KH thread. So do you guys think most of the main characters are getting cut for the new arc? Because quite a few had their arcs completed in 3. Roxas, Xion, Terra, Namine all for example concluded their arcs so there is nothing for them to do. Aqua is confirmed to be Kairi's master so she still has a role. Ven has loose ends to tie up with Union X shit. Axel and Saix will look for Subject X and Saix will inevitably get a Keyblade now because he's a good guy now and every good person gets a Keyblade.

I find it hilarious when morons claim “HURRRR KH IS FILLED WITH PLOT HOLES AND RETCONS” when in actuality, there are only a few and it’s the most minor plot holes that can be easily overlooked. The series only has one major plot hole but that can be overlooked as well.
>In KH2 Donald was shocked to see Yen Sid Tower saying “Master Yen Sid lives here?!” but both Donald and Goofy were actually in Yen Sid’s tower the entire time they were in BBS. >In the same scene, Goofy said “his majesty” banished Pete but in BBS it was actually Queen Minnie who did >Nomura said Nobodies do not age but Ienzo/Zexion proves that is wrong >In KH2, Riku said that when him and Roxas fought, he lost but the second time they fought, he won. Riku and Roxas only fought once >Mickey’s shoes are different from KH1 ending to 0.2 ending(this can be overlooked because Nomura was not allowed to change Mickey’s appearance in KH1) >Aqua being surprised and crying upon hearing Sora’s name as the savior in BBS secret ending no longer makes sense because Mickey told Aqua about Sora in 0.2 >In Dream Drop Distance, Mickey telling Xehanort that his actions in BBS ruined the lives of his 3 missing friends but Mickey has never actually met Terra before >BBS Young Master Xehanort has a brief cameo in the intro and is significantly more older and taller than DDD, KH3 and Dark Road Xehanort >in KH 3 when Marluxia puts Sora to sleep he says “ you always were such a sound sleeper “ in reference to Sora going to sleep to regain his memories at the end of Chain of Memories. It’s actually impossible for Marluxia to know Sora went to sleep because that happened AFTER he killed him
And the only major plot hole in the series: >Xemnas can’t wield the Keyblade even though he is the Nobody of TWO Keyblade wielders. One being an actual Keyblade Master
Literally EVERY single story in the history of fiction has plotholes. Every single one. There is not a single story ever created that doesn't have a plothole. KH plotholes are so minor with the exception of the Xemnas can't wield the Keyblade. But morons love to act like KH is riddled with plotholes everywhere when in reality, it's not. Nomura does a great job of keeping things consistent
>yes this will be important lore you need to know for Kingdom Hearts 4
The most we'll get from this is where Skuld is and if she's Xehanort's mom or not,
Nomura once again being forced to carry SE. YoshiP needs to be enslaved in the MMO-pits where he belongs.
From the looks of a recent interview Yoshi P did, I think he wants to move on from FF and create a new IP. He said he doesn't want to make FF17. He says he's going to be tied to FF14 for the rest of his life but I think he wants to do his own thing now.
This looks like a soulless gatcha game with summons as spin rewards. All soul KH had in the 1-CoM-2 era is fricking dead.
>more findom blarts
I just want Verum Rex bros. I just want Versus. You can't wienertease a Versus XIII 2011 trailer in the secret ending only to backtrack and give us KH4

Horii is fricking 80 and yet he's still shitting DQXII, nips retirement is the grave.
But the main villain arc about Lenin is over.
But we got the true big bad of the series now.
>Introduced as lol funny troll coat man
>is actually a legit psychopath
>DARKNESS killed all his friends
>Came up a 13D chess move by making his apprentices fight each other so DARKNESS can enter their hearts and the hero of light can kill them and himself to rid the world of DARKNESS for good

>true big bad
No, the real big bad is going to be the King of Darknesses who killed his friends in the first place. The story is designed to keep going forever.
>His plan directly caused a war involving the death of thousands of children
His plan WAS the war among other things.
Say what you want but MoM is seethe personified.
>You now realize the reason Nomura ended the Xehanort arc is because all the actors kept dying.
Cliffhanger of kh3 was shit. Sora is in another world and maybe something happens. Yawn. I has never been worst time to be kh fan. I'm guessing this mobile game is going to retcon and make more shit up to raise the imaginary stakes of kh4.

Nomura peaked in the late 90's with Parasite Eve and FFVIII.
>FFVIII
no
I'm talking about character art.
im aware
How exactly does the Disney stuff work in the context of this again?
it doesn't that's why they have the disney characters as power ups because it's still a Disney game and Nomura is obligated to use Disney
But wasn't there a whole thing in X or Dark Road, or whatever the frick where they went to the Disney. Despite the fact they shouldn't exist yet because this was the world where it all the other worlds came from?

Sincere. My knowledge of the franchise, particularly the mobile shit, has atrophied to hell
What pertinent information could feasibly be revealed in a game during that time span?
In Dark Road it was revealed that the masters actually knew more about how darkness works then what was revealed in UX, so essentially this game could reveal more of the Master of Master's motives and probably explain some open question of UX (although that's unlikely). Thank you, anon. Appreciate the info
it happens in old scala ad caelum (last stage of kh3) between the X games and xehanort's infancy in scala ad caelum, so it's the missing link

>In KH2, Riku said that when him and Roxas fought, he lost but the second time they fought, he won. Riku and Roxas only fought once
>Mickey’s shoes are different from KH1 ending to 0.2 ending(this can be overlooked because Nomura was not allowed to change Mickey’s appearance in KH1)
>Aqua being surprised and crying upon hearing Sora’s name as the savior in BBS secret ending no longer makes sense because Mickey told Aqua about Sora in 0.2
>In Dream Drop Distance, Mickey telling Xehanort that his actions in BBS ruined the lives of his 3 missing friends but Mickey has never actually met Terra before
>BBS Young Master Xehanort has a brief cameo in the intro and is significantly more older and taller than DDD, KH3 and Dark Road Xehanort
>in KH 3 when Marluxia puts Sora to sleep he says “ you always were such a sound sleeper “ in reference to Sora going to sleep to regain his memories at the end of Chain of Memories. It’s actually impossible for Marluxia to know Sora went to sleep because that happened AFTER he killed him
And the only major plot hole in the series:
>Xemnas can’t wield the Keyblade even though he is the Nobody of TWO Keyblade wielders. One being an actual Keyblade Master
That’s it. That’s all the plot holes in KH.
>it’s the most minor plot holes
name one story that doesn't have plotholes
That was some fast goalpost movement. Did you complete a QTE?
i laughed, but do it. you can't.
Complete the QTE? I probably can't.
>Xemnas can’t wield the Keyblade
is it ever explicitly stated he cant?
Do you think Terra and Aqua frick?
I think Aqua is a lesbian.
She clearly loves dick. Zack asking her out had her panties wet
Aqua seems more like a shotalover to me
You saw her reaction when Terra returned. She loves dick
Pure NOMURA KINO incoming
>yes this will be important lore you need to know for Kingdom Hearts 4
The most we'll get from this is where Skuld is and if she's Xehanort's mom or not,
Pokemon GO: Hearts
Frick off
sounds kino
>Can't wait to see how this ties into the lore
Kek my side
Gray hair girl is Kairi grandma
too old, maybe Kairi's grandma's mom
Will it feature larxene and aqua gagging on my wienerus? If not, I really don't care about it.
Larxene is for Marly
