Is this game just a downgraded version of heroes of annihilated empires? I really wish someone would make a true sequel to that game, it needs more factions and maps
>I really wish someone would make a true sequel to that game
better pre-order stalker 2 and a lot of hopium then.
I've heard that there are novels based on the game in Ukraine and Russia, but that might be bullshit
I am pretty sure that it is a game based on novels
Idk, but novels do exist
Busted a big nut once - one of the books had sex scene between necromant mc and some girl
I've heard the entire story is laid out in the novels while the game is only the first part and ends of a cliffhanger. Too bad they're probably not translated
I liked the part where the evil protagonist Rick Blood and his vampire buddy unwittingly released a succubus lady from her magical prison. The vampire started freaking out about it while Rick said they got what they came there for and told him to move along. The succubus tried to charm him but he "no way gay"ed her while calling her m'lady and went away. She was so impressed that she joined his army.
more accurately the xbox games are the sequels to this obscure RTS that didn't gain much notoriety outside of South Korea, although the lore can best be summarized by "lol, lmao"
It was mentioned in the store page that it's early access. I think they'll be upgrading the game to make it more up to current era with graphic resolutions and RTS mechanics (hoping for structure queue).
Had it fullscreen at the beginning, but then it went windowed the 2nd time I launched it. Still having a blast.
Seriously why didn't they make Kingdom Under Fire 2 like that? Or at least ripped off SpellForce if they wanted RPG stuff in it? It would've been far better if they didn't make it an MMO but, and I will repeat it, a SpellForce ripoff on a larger scale and with the RTS feel of the original KUF but with all the stuff RTS games would have (queuing building orders for builders, queuing research and other small stuff).
The reason KUF2 died was because instead of making an RTS/RPG hybrid they made some MMORTS with Dynasty Warriors stuff...on the other hand if they made it a SpellForce ripoff with more RTS emphasis and added the option to switch into a Dynasty Warriors style of gameplay just like SpellForce did with you going TPP and controlling your Rune Warrior with the keyboard and mouse.
Was disappointed I couldn't comp stomp with a friend of mine. Other than that I've been enjoying it. The spells can be nice and devastating but I suck at rts games and freeze up so special abilities and spells tend not to get used.
If they did this earlier, then KUF2, instead of being a MMO would've been a SpellForce rip-off (which would've been pretty good for the series) with Dynasty Warriors combat if you went to directly control your characters. Combine this with the scale they did with KUF2 and it would've been a RTS/RPG hybrid played for many, many years.
Kingdom Under Fire 2 was going to be exactly like Crusaders from 2004, it was changed into an MMO half way through development. It wasn't supposed to be one, originally.
And it doesn't play like Dynasty Warriors, and it definitely doesn't play anything like Spellforce. It's a Real Time Tactics / Action hybrid. Only the first game in this series was an RTS, and that came out before Spellforce.
Strange. From the videos it did feel like Dynasty Warriors elements were there. And that there was limited RTS elements.
But in all honesty they could've done it differently. Now it's dead for some time...
There is no RTS in any of these games except the first one and they really don't play anything like DW. I'm going to assume you never really played any of the games in this series.
Later videos showed an RTS-like section with giant creatures and more (minus building stuff, just commanding and ordering large swatches of units). Did play Crusaders and the original KUF and did think it would be different from Crusaders. They should've really done it differently instead of making it an MMO with Crusaders and Heroes gameplay style.
its the same as other old rts, like how starcraft 1 you had protoss rushing 12 zealots. Best tactic is to get mortars and swamp mammoths to deal with them.

How about playing with more AI players and they all rush against you ignoring each other?
I want them to improve pathfinding. It's still bad. Or at least make it so friendly units will not block each other so much
Also easier rallies and auto gathering on creation would be nice, idk if those will happen though. Being able to put multiple buildings on one control group would be nice, as well.
This is basically impossible for me to play. 2-3 minutes into a match and the AI is rushing me with 15 orcs.
Use all your starting cash on villagers, build 1-2 barracks, send all villagers to mine gold with maybe 2 mining iron.
Spam basic swordsmen and archers within minutes
AI is able to only attack thrice maybe 4 times since later on it runs out of resources
It was fun for a bit but i'm tired of this already. Every unit controls like shit and the pathfinding is horrible. Some units just stop attacking even if there are enemies in front of them and you tell them to fight. It's missing extremely basic features that games older than it have. The factions are also horribly balanced, dark elves kill everything if there's even a moderate number of them and they don't really have any real counter. The ai is also clearly cheating by having infinite vision and it automatically starts to counter whatever your doing without even scouting it, severely limiting how you're even allowed to play againt it. I doubt the develoeprs will even make any changes to the game that would fix these issues since the only thing they talked about was resolution fixes and not changing the gameplay.
>...fricking how. It's a game from 2000s.
Because they are working to make it fit new computers with some improvements. EA free players are beta testers
Does it work properly on modern systems right away or do you have to go through hops to make it play as intended?
seems to work fine for me on win10, but you can't change to fullscreen or change the resolution (there are no options to do so)
Pcgamingwiki page for this game is completely empty so no help from this website.
the game was really hard to get a hold of before it dropped on steam so that's no surprise. Something might appear on the steam forums eventually
Is this game just a downgraded version of heroes of annihilated empires? I really wish someone would make a true sequel to that game, it needs more factions and maps
>just a downgraded version
It's older.
I know that anon, but I was asking if it was an inferior version of that game
>I really wish someone would make a true sequel to that game

kuf is tolkein like fantasy, your thing is if the last unicorn was an RTS

Is this a prequel to the Xbox Kingdom Under Fire games? Loved those ones. Only games made in Korea worth playing that I know of.
more accurately the xbox games are the sequels to this obscure RTS that didn't gain much notoriety outside of South Korea, although the lore can best be summarized by "lol, lmao"
I like it but I think it's indrecibly unpolished.
It was mentioned in the store page that it's early access. I think they'll be upgrading the game to make it more up to current era with graphic resolutions and RTS mechanics (hoping for structure queue).
I hope so. It could really use them.
Had it fullscreen at the beginning, but then it went windowed the 2nd time I launched it. Still having a blast.

Man this is a surprise, whats next, circle of doom for pc? please dont circle of doom actually sucks
Also seems like blueside and some bloom technology studio are behind it, wonder if blueside realizes they should have treated the KUF franchise better

Yeah i've been doing that and i'm starting to win. Dwarves seem required againt the ai.
How about playing with more AI players and they all rush against you ignoring each other?
It is still free. Nice. I only now I noticed this
I still have my original version
You can download it on old-games.ru
https://www.old-games.ru/game/1390.html
Ok, but why? It has no multiplayer or new updates.
You know the Steam version is 100% free?
Not to mention that it's constantly updated and has multiplayer?
It's free until it's not, according to the team themselves.
Good thing I grabbed it before they could change their minds about it.
>pirating free game
>game with devs actually working on it again and trying to make it more fit to modern PCs
Really hoping they will allow to queue building orders for builders. That would save people a ton of time.
I want them to improve pathfinding. It's still bad. Or at least make it so friendly units will not block each other so much
I feel you here. The very fact that they are polishing an old as frick game brings hopes here.
Also easier rallies and auto gathering on creation would be nice, idk if those will happen though. Being able to put multiple buildings on one control group would be nice, as well.
You group them and then quickly order.
That would be brutally convenient.
>computer decides to rush me
>lose

Don't the archers fricking suck? They seem extremely weak, they lose to everything.
Are Elven Rangers ever worth making? They cost more than Dwarves and shoot far more slowly. they don't even do that much more damage.
They have insane range, they are basically siege units
Put them into towers
So do Dwarves, but they also have splash damage and shoot faster. They're also cheaper to make.
Does this game have dark elf booba and bunda?
not really like crusaders and heroes, but there are dark elves in the game at least
I will now buy your game.

bump
Just installed it now will give you my opinions in 12 hours
well?
Bump so there will be no need to make another thread later
I still hope people will notice this
Oh, that's metal, I've been waiting for the rerelease for eons now.
>Early Access

When are they going to test higher resoultions, this shit is more pixelated than when it was on windows vista
uh oh
