It's a robot body with like 15 feet of BTfied guts floating in it like the other robots. I don't think it's Amelie's body. It might be her head, or Higgs somehow subsumed her role as the Extinction Entity.
Look at that lip divot its the same as Amelia/Bridget, if that's not intentional why did they change the whole structure of Higgs' face then?

It is troy bakers face people want to be the special guy who found out some secret plot that isnt there but there is the mask of amelia and the quipu neckalce those are the obvious references we already know higgs is obsessed with amelia being the extinction entity
He's literally America, took her face, says force is how you solve all the worlds problems, plays the star spangled banner on the guitar. He's like america personified as the villain
So what's with this guy? I thought Death stranding was like a futuristic delivery guy simulator but with a bunch of Monsters and uneven terrain like ridiculous but also grounded enough so the world felt alive and dangerous but now there's little stop motion guys, wearable extra hands, electrically charged weapons that need to be played like guitars to shot and psychic babies that control robots.
Just what is death stranding about?
It’s a Kojima game. Japanese writers are pathologically incapable of working within the confines of a potentially interesting setting without putting magic or wacky shit in it. You could put a gun to a Nip writers head and tell them to write a story about 1950s France without magic or a vast shadow organization and they would be weeping the entire time the pen is in their hand knowing they wouldn’t be able stop themselves from giving the main character a sword of lightning to fight Cam-Soc, the evil empire that wishes to rule the world. They’re fricking infantile minded and it’s drilled into their entire culture.
There's merit to not constraining a story or setting to being either entirely reasonable or entirely fantastical. Blending them can accentuate the themes a work is trying to portray. It's because there's a certain degree of absurdity in Death Stranding that it doesn't feel strange that you cross the entire American continent basically on foot in a couple dozen hours. It's because the visuals are based around natural textures and realistic geometry that the BTs and Chiral Crystals feel so surreal. It's because Kojima doesn't second guess himself on the very direct character names that the archetype tracking characters don't feel out of place. That there's a certain mythologic quality to the story. If you let yourself accept the outlandish as being as sincere as the more grounded parts you connect more deeply with the underlying themes and feel the emotions it's designed to evoke. It's a very specific kind of Magical Realism that I've never seen in works originating from anywhere but Japan, and only debatably once from an author other than Hideo Kojima himself.
Die-Hardman can't possibly be derived from anything but the English form.
Is that suppose to be the troony kojimbo has been trying to frick for the past 6 months?
The person you're referring to is Hunter Schafer, who is playing a tertiary role in OD, not Death Stranding 2. The character in the OP is played by, and has the face of, Troy Baker.
Because you know jack shit about the story of the 1st game, not everything is about trannies

How is making uninformed commentary about a game you've never played supposed to be making fun of anyone? You just bounced off the game for its premise and tone, which is totally fine, and the opinion you formed as part of that is by all means your prerogative, but you're talking like you're an objective authority on something you had no interest in. You saw some of it, didn't like it, and refuse to accept that other perspectives exist. Your taste isn't perfect and it's only going to hurt you in the long run to tell yourself it is.

>like ridiculous but also grounded enough so the world felt alive and dangerous
You would be mistaken. Death Stranding has always been incredibly surrealist.
>Parents die >Forced to kill his abuse uncle >Forced to take care of fragile as a sister >Forced to become a porter >Forced to become the harbinger of death by Amelie, goes insane
Sam: "I'M THE VICTIM HERE"
Higgs was fricked 6 ways from sunday, he didn't deserve it.
Higgs enjoyed it a little too much. I enjoye beating the frick out of him. I would’ve killed Amelie too but she’s an eldritch abomination (against her will) and can’t do anything about it.
>Gets an adoptive mother >Mother is involved with shutting down BB facilities >Bridges starts NUKING the facilities under Amelies/President Stand's order >His adoptive mother gets cancer due to radiation
whats the advantage of using a sword instead of a gun? its a story and the writer makes up what happens so anything is viable you dumb third world monkey
If they don't step Higgs' character up i'll be furious. He was an unmotivated man, thank the writers Cliff immediately showed up to take the antagonist's mantle off of his scrawny narrative shoulders.
Did anyone else notice that when the journalist woman asked Kojima if Physint was Metal Gear, he didn't say outright that it wasn't? He said "What are you talking about?" And his expression could have been incredulity at the question being asked just as much as it could have been one of "Oh, shit, I've been figured out in negative time on this one."
Almost finished with my replay bros. I will probably 5 star all preppers after the end, and do the director's cut missions too.
Man Bridget/Amelie is fricked up, Cliff did not deserve it
Man I hated DS the first time I tried playing it. I recently gave it another try and it grew on me. There's something endearing about the wacky writing.
After seeing the trailer, I decided to bust my PS4 back out and actually finish the game. I previously stopped right before the mountains, and now I am realizing I stopped right before the game got good. I am enjoying the ride to be sure. I will wait until DS2 comes to PC though.
I want DS2 to be just like the first game. The gun play was nice and I'm glad it was there but I don't want it as the main focus. I want the main challenge to be running around delivering stuff as quickly as possible without damaging it. I spent 200 hours doing that in DS1 and I want more of the same.
I thought Higgs was a cool guy but I never really understood why he's setup to be this ultimate rival to Sam, with the MGS4 style showdown and everything. It worked in that because it was built up over a decade across multiple games, and Snake and Liquid (and Big Boss and Ocelot) actually riffed off of each other. Sam and Higgs? Again, Higgs was alright but Sam is just devoid of anything to truly define him as a character as a foil to Higgs. He's like Snake without the moral obligation, he's only even doing anything because of Amelie. Now that Amelie's out of the picture, I guess Lou will be taking up that mantle but the dynamic between Sam and Higgs is still just going to be underwhelming since it's just personal beef instead of a more abstract concept like a clash of ideals.
I like Sam but more as a deliveryman than a character.
>I suppose even a porter has to pull the trigger from time to time
i dun get it
play death stranding 1
That was good. The dialogue seems way better this time.
If OP says so then it is surely the case. He's never lied.
I trust in OP's vast and wise anus.
is that kojima new trans character?
Higs took over Amelie's body so make of that what you will.
It's a robot body with like 15 feet of BTfied guts floating in it like the other robots. I don't think it's Amelie's body. It might be her head, or Higgs somehow subsumed her role as the Extinction Entity.
look at the necklace dude and it's her face and hair, he may have just done a leatherface on her and took the necklace but it's fricked either way.
>and it's her face
That is literally Higgs' and Troy Bakers face from 1. He has a mask that looks like her face, but it's not her face.
Look at that lip divot its the same as Amelia/Bridget, if that's not intentional why did they change the whole structure of Higgs' face then?

He was playing BB's theme on the guitar when fighting the robo samurai
Meds.
>all these zoomers saying it's the Joker
>nobody knows about the Crow
Fricking morons
So what's with this guy? Just what is death stranding about?
The only thing that feels weird is the ventriloquist dummy and the tar dragon. The other stuff works even in DS1.
It's a kojima game
>just what is death stranding about
Play it

Nicely put, but the weird naming has to do with how Kojima chose their names based on specific kanjis
Something like that
Die-Hardman can't possibly be derived from anything but the English form.
The person you're referring to is Hunter Schafer, who is playing a tertiary role in OD, not Death Stranding 2. The character in the OP is played by, and has the face of, Troy Baker.

Look at this unnatural inflated abomination. All because the greedy pig couldn't stop eating. Fat people are a disease.
>Just what is death stranding about?
life
>I thought metal gear is a millitary stealth game, why is there a cyborg dude with a katana
Kojimbo is a 60 year old boomer doing his 'hello fellow cool kids' routine.
(and it seems to be working with the Ganker 8-12 year old demographic)
japanese people confirmed for brown skinned unlike their animes
>like ridiculous but also grounded enough so the world felt alive and dangerous
You would be mistaken. Death Stranding has always been incredibly surrealist.
More kino with the mask on imo. Gives me Buckethead vibes.
oh frick, I need buckethead on the sound track
soothsayer while walking miles would be absolutely ludokino
>Parents die

He doesn't know fragile is the daughter of his adoptive mother
Shut up nerd
I can't wait to walk five IRL hours to see this cutscene then proceed to walk five more before something else happens
What's the advantage of a weapon where you have to strum the trigger a bunch of times for an inaccurate discharge?
whats the advantage of using a sword instead of a gun? its a story and the writer makes up what happens so anything is viable you dumb third world monkey
Run out of ammo.
Just wear a bandanna then
It looks cool to a 3rd world indian audience raised on bollywood.
Kojima is going where the money is
It's Kojima. Making stupid stuff work is his mojo
Actually, not stupid, but cringe. I love MGS and DS though
>but cringe.
Yeah this
He copied 80's movies for MGS = cool
He copies 2000's+ movies for DS = gay
Fraud Hackman
And Tomokazu Fukushima, the real talent, the mastermind behind MGS and MGS2 is nowhere to be found
based
I am only happy that pic related is getting some screen time. I have no idea the context but the fight reminded me of Slaanesh bawd band boys
Troy Baker sucks. He sucked as ocelot too
No, he didnt
I don't mind Baker, but I'd have liked to see another film actor as Higgs just to give the ensemble more consistency.
The lack of eyebrows makes it uncanny

I know right... I can't wait to play it on my pc.
Almost finished with my replay bros. I will probably 5 star all preppers after the end, and do the director's cut missions too.
Man Bridget/Amelie is fricked up, Cliff did not deserve it
The new theme song is so fricking good... it starts when Higgs is fighting the puppets with katanas.
Is that suppose to be the troony kojimbo has been trying to frick for the past 6 months?
Jonkler?
>mom said its my turn to surpass metal gear
gotta admit that scene was badass
but i do hope it wasn't just a cutscene and the game actually allows you to fight with guitars
Kojima is a hack
>Kojima is a hack

I am kinda worried that it might be the case.
so kojima's games predict the future, what is ds2 going to predict?
the rise of miniaturization gun
getting trannies pregnant

Kino means cinema, which means this belongs on Ganker
kojima transcends mediums
>poor old sam, always in the dark
>that'll be 19.95 dollars plus tip higgs
