Sell me on a system for gonzo space-fantasy adventures. Cosmic rock stars bar-hopping with not-Jedi; sentient starships secretly streaming the crew's private moments for a repair fund; dragons and cybertronians as reasonable PC races; cyber-assassin catgirls in debt to a space demon mob boss; techno-barbarians wielding the power of precursor magitech weapons against their nanite-lich overlords, etc.
However, I have already considered a variety of systems and found them lacking or unsuited to my group (playing over discord, combats need to be quick), so please none of the following:
Rifts
Traveller
SWN
Rogue Trader/40k
Fate
PbtA
GURPS
d20
BESM
OVA
Mutants & Masterminds
Prowlers and Paragons
Heroes Unlimited
Anything at all with special dice, "collaborative roll results", or "instead of actual stats just make up some descriptors"
What is it about the mechanics of these other RPGs or systems that makes them unsuited for you? If we know what you don't like, it'll help us make recommendations.

That's what I get for sleeping
Rifts I like but my group doesn't
Traveller and SWN are a bit too old school of a take on sci-fi
RT/W40K feels too gritty/lethal and would need more work to rebalance around concepts that don't fit that particular setting
Fate/PbtA/OVA, just not a fan of such narrative systems
GURPS, have played before and combat takes a bit plus vehicle rules are the one place all the math memes hold true
d20, we are tired of it
BESM, easy to end up with wildly unbalanced characters and the math is so in favor of attacks/damage that taking defensive powers is a joke
M&M, it's d20 supers
P&P has collaborative roll results that will slow combat and exploration
Heroes Unlimited, it's been a long while but I recall being utterly unimpressed by it
Special dice are harder to roll or slower to translate over an irc dice roller
Narrative games elements are not my bag
Will look into it
Tried it, but PCs rapidly get crazy powerfull, which is fair for the game but if they can wipe the toughest things in the bestiary at rank 2 it makes a lot more work to come up with threatening enemies
May look into it later
>Special dice are harder to roll
The Genesys dice have a free app. Just have players say what they rolled.

>Rifts
>Rifts I like but my group doesn't
This is genuinely the issue with everyone who really wants to play RIFTS v.v
It's a curse I tell you
Space Kings comes to mind as being exactly what you're describing, but if I have to be honest, the system is kind of mid.
Looked into it. Agreed, it has similar aims but the system could use some work
Looked into this too, thanks anon, gotta go through those when I get home
Fair enough, I'll give it a look too
>Looked into it. Agreed, it has similar aims but the system could use some work
The card thing works great and is a lot of fun. The ebb and flow of successes can make for some fun moments, but everything else about the game is kinda weak. Lot of weird, arbitrary choices in there, like how you tag "practices" and ultimates being kinda neat, but not really cool enough.
An interesting concept with a slightly off execution, happens all the time and I'm sure for some groups it works just fine. Just not to all our tastes.
Files seem to be corrupted/incomplete, but I'll poke around elsewhere. Still, thank you for the suggestion.

here are a few possibilities you might consider:

You already tried Star Wars D6?
I haven't, if only because I expect the Jedi powers to fall short of representing a broader array of abilities. Can it handle weird crossovers inspired by multiple other sources with varying levels of magic or superpowers?
It's force powers, those can do whatever you need them to do even before you refluff them. The system's apparently decent at being space fantasy schlock and easy enough to handle for players, which is what matters.
If you want to introduce unnecessary mechanic distinction into character build, use GURPS instead.
I'll give it a look then, if the powers can cover more superheroic stuff it may work
Mighty d6 with starship rules stolen from Space or Space Opera looks like a solid contender, thank you both for the info.
It's not quite what the current campaign needs but I've got ideas already for the next one using SBCS. Reminds me vaguely of Starchaser: the Legend of Orrin

Awesome anon is awesome, this is better than the Trove
What can I say... I collect stuff...
A usefull trait. I'll be making use of several items from that last collection for sure.
Cool
nta but SWd6 was later revised into d6 Space, a generic scifi system without the SW-specific stuff.
Also a good system but not quite what I'm after, need to run it again sometime
