Choose a meat; usually rotisserie chicken, fajita meat (beef or chicken), shreded pork, salmon (I hate tilapia, but if you like it go ahead), shrimp, or even more "exotic" stuff like barbracoa, goat or lamb. Serve with Pico de gallo, guacamole, and cojita cheese on either a fresh flour tortilla (preferably heated up with butter) or doubled up corn tortilla (god help you if use hard shells).

It's nice to see Shingo, Goenitz, Duo Lon, and Hinako after so many years.
Shingo, Duo Lon and Hinako were all originally being worked on for XIV. They got in because they still had half-done assets and were thus less work for geniuses that can't even properly implement seperate costumes.
I don't like that Kim was DLC and would rather have Oswald or Shen instead of Duo Lon but really solid. I remember Hinako being pretty fun but the last time I used her was in some Mugen KOF game and she was pretty busted in that so things could be totally wrong.
>friend who was really into SNK stopped caring since his hands can't take fighting games anymore >meaning I only seem to get into SNK when something new happens as I have no one to talk to normally
I think...I need to join an SNK Discord. I'm getting desperate...
Just ask for games on Ganker but then again I have no idea how cancer the SNK discord is. The only fighting game discord I give a pass at was a small DOA server I was on but the server shut down. Sucks since when your game is only being kept alive by gacha and SFM porn, the community is pretty chill.
none gives a damn shit about KOF XIV characters, wasted slots, and I'm stil mad they paywalled fricking Kim, when he was one of the few characters who appeared on all previous games. Goenitz being free is the only good thing
While the game has a slightly higher learning curve, (three characters with varying meter building/usage to take into account, the different jumps, rolling, and so on,) the crazy part is that you really can play this game like Smash Bros once you learn the rules. Every single character abides by the same movement options, having four buttons (two punch and two kick,) and a lot of inputs get shared for supers. It's kinda crazy, but there really is a point where you can just play whoever you want (except Angel,) and you'll just intuitively know what to do with whoever you're playing.
>the crazy part is that you really can play this game like Smash Bros once you learn the rules. Every single character abides by the same movement options, having four buttons (two punch and two kick,) and a lot of inputs get shared for supers.
This part is key, if you go into the series as a traditional fighting game version of Smash Bros, you're already better off than someone trying to go into it like Street Fighter.
>the crazy part is that you really can play this game like Smash Bros once you learn the rules.
Makes sense, KOF is the series which inspired Sakurai to make Smash after all.
It's a really good fighting game, but only get it if you have some friends to play and learn with. Only people left online now are Mexicans and Chinese vets that will push your shit in hard.
No, KoF is completely impenetrable if you're not a global south shitholer who's been playing the game for 20 years. They don't change the mechanics up that much and the most basic and powerful movement option is stuck to a finicky tap method. The entire game consists of endless hop C/D pressure and c.B spam until you get a hit and go into giant meter dump combos. The only effective characters are the ones who have the most broken special/DM to make the meter dump combos easier and can delete 60% of your health as punishment for pressing a button of any sort except back.
Koreans and chinese players are like 1000 years ahead whatever South Americans can do. People forget that South Americans don't have time to play vidya while living in economically-crippled countries stuffed with mass-murdering and corruption.
Not even in KOF 98, which is a game most South Americans have played, can they go up against Koreans and Chinks. Those guys are absolute fricking beasts and will shit down your neck with any character
Also, as an ArgeBlack... I don't think KOF is that big anymore down here. Most kids nowadays play Smash or Street Fighter, and the grown-ups check Mortal Kombat for the gore. Arcade culture died and what few places remain don't have many KOF machines.
Because the Mexicans and South Americans are the loudest (and most annoying) fans and the ones SNK caters to. If they were catering to the chinks they'd make intentionally broken cheese and glitchfests like 97, not DM spam for big combos like the hacked 02 machines with infinite super meter like Brazillians played.
I've literally never condescended someone for playing 1v1. In fact, that's how I initially learned the game with KOF95. Once I got used to playing it on and off like that in 95 and 98, I started playing 3v3. I love what 3v3 brings to the table in KOF but if you initially, or always, want to just 1v1 there's nothing wrong with that.
>friend who was really into SNK stopped caring since his hands can't take fighting games anymore >meaning I only seem to get into SNK when something new happens as I have no one to talk to normally
I think...I need to join an SNK Discord. I'm getting desperate...
I mean you can crack jokes but anon's not really wrong. If a fighting game isn't ultra popular you're not really going to find many players outside of a Discord server where that stuff can get organized. Not everyone wants to just play whatever's the most popular.
I've always liked playing AoF3 single player and later got into AoF1 too. I recently got a Neo-Geo AES and have been playing AoF 1 and 2 quite a bit. Had a friend with FG experience visiting and thus played them for the first time against a human opponent just a couple of days ago, too.
They're flawed games but actually pretty fun to play, both for single player and versus. The systems are surprisingly competent as long as you are willing to accept their quirkiness and limitations. I think AoF 1 and 3 also are also very atmospheric with good music, backgrounds and some of the sprite work, and the unique character dialogue is always a plus.
tl;dr: The games are actually pretty good, albeit rather clunky and quirky. Hope they actually do revive the series.
>Kyo and Iori
Its a classic so not much to say >K’ and Kula
Does this one even really count? since Kula was barely a rival to K’ >Ash and Elisabeth
This one isnt even a fricking rivalry >Shun’ei and Isla
This is just really one sided and also gets resolved in the same game does this really count?
>Its a classic so not much to say
And the gold standard. Iori is a complete irredeemable person and is never going to stop his eternal struggle with Kyo >Does this one even really count
I mean, she is the anti-K weapon and was the leader of the NEST team during the events of 2001
Isla already gets along well with Shun'ei but they are still rivals, perhaps in KOF XVI we will see more where their new friendship and rivalry will lead.
>Iori is a complete irredeemable person
Is he though? Dude just wants to chill and play jazz but the Orochi sleep paralysis demons keep messing with him.
>Best Rivalry
Kyo and Iori, no contest. >Best Rival
Isla is a great character, and unfortunately she's just going to be worst protag's gf from now on. I hate it.
>unfortunately she's just going to be worst protag's gf from now on. I hate it.
Maybe a miracle can happen. Elisabeth is amazing even though she has a fixation with Ash.
Not that I disagree but I think it was a welcome change to see Shun'ei change from the distraught and angry young man to a more relaxed and calm young man. Shun'ei reflects SNK and how little by little they regain their confidence and power in themselves.
She should just replace Shun'ei outright since she does his own gimmick way better than him. Plus nobody would miss him if he was gone, people care more about Meiteinkun than him.
>make the game more casual friendly >make sure it looks slightly better than XV >don't frick up the online
That's literally all they need to do. Garou 1 is one of those games like GGXX that "hardcore" fightangays constantly like to wave their dicks about playing. So it already has the brand cred, they just need to make sure casuals can play it
SNK has slowly been climbing back up the ladder of relevancy with each release, so unless something catastrophic happens at or shortly before launch it should do better than KOFXV. Don't know if it'll be enough to put it on say Strive's level of success, but it should be good.
>make the game more casual friendly >make sure it looks slightly better than XV >don't frick up the online

>make sure it looks slightly better than XV
From the teaser it looks about the same, but SNK actually did improve the look of KOFXV as the release date got closer, so I'm hoping this means it'll look really good whenever it actually comes out if this is already on par with XV's final look.
>now XIV on the other hand
KOF XIV is an acquired taste. The 3D models take some getting used to, but one can see from the character movements, the specials, and the soundtrack that they really put a lot of effort into the final product.
Plus the game has Alice.
I know the game is in early development right now, but I wish they'd show a match. I like the new shading style in screenshots, but I want to see how well it works in motion.
>I like the new shading style in screenshots, but I want to see how well it works in motion.
It kind of reminds me of what they were doing in Samsho, but they tweaked it a bit so that the characters look like they popped out of a manga.
>I like the new shading style in screenshots, but I want to see how well it works in motion.
It kind of reminds me of what they were doing in Samsho, but they tweaked it a bit so that the characters look like they popped out of a manga.
imo it looks really good for a game that's still quite a ways away from release.
Nah, their games have been my favourite modern fighters to play but SNK just can't quite get their shit together. The things that get you lots of attention are brand, graphics, content. They've improved in every area outside content, but still multiple steps behind everyone else. SNK talk big but they need a modern looking game with a feature or style that can really make it stand out in a fairly crowded genre.
[...] >make sure it looks slightly better than XV

>did improve the look of KOFXV as the release date got closer
They did but it wasn't massive. It was mostly a few wonky aspects with some models. When consistently their biggest issue has been bad lighting. Just look at how cheap the background is, you could hide so much of that with proper polish. the same was true with XV and they never did it.
>Milf Mai and maybe Yuri
I want it to be true cause I like it when you see the world in a fighter moving forward. But SNK are a bit to cowardly. I could see them having new outfits but no way they'd overtly age up Mai, and Yuri is just kinda unlikely. XV had a handful of new designs, but the only huge overall was Krohnen cause they kinda had to.
If you mean Fatal Fury in general then its >Terry >Joe >Andy >Mai >Geese >Billy Kane >Blue Mary >Yamazaki >Tung Fu Rue >Kim >Krauser >Raiden >Li Xiangfei >Duck King >Rock >B Jenet >Gato >"Tizoc" >Alice (pachinko)
Various characters have appeared in stages. Some characters like Luong and Hein could make a case for being added, as KoF originals with direct ties to FF characters. But they aren't canon till they are.
Garou is literally just Fatal Fury, but a decade later. So anybody that debuted in a Fatal Fury (and isn't dead like Geese) or Art of Fighting which is a prequel to the events of Fatal Fury is fair game to show up in Garou 2. The first Garou wanted to focus on the new generation which is why everybody but Terry was new, but going by the teaser for G2 there's a higher chance of the originals showing up.
Basically expect characters like >Terry >Rock >Mai >B. Jenet >Kim >Xiangfei >Duck King >Ryo but much older than he is in KOF and his name is Mr. Karate II
And don't expect >Kyo >Iori >Leona >Ash >Angel >Geese >Athena >Any Samsho character
The roster does need a couple rogue picks. If it is just usuals plus a couple motw characters that'd be a bit lame.

You, me, the 10 people on this board that played XI and the one weird guy who played Buriki One would flip the frick out and everybody else would think he's a new character.
I would instantly give SNK my money if they brought back Tsugumi or Kasumi for Garou 2.
it will always be niche until their graphics meet modern standards. Garou 2 can easily do better than KOFXV by simple fact of it being a 1v1 game though.
I'm saying that Rock might still be internally conflicted and is only going with Kain to seek out info about his mother, but he'll probably still fight against Terry in the end anyways.
His role of replacing Gesse as the boss of South Town will probably be part of this conflict. There's a reason Rock is in the darkness with Kain and Billy, and if I recall KOF Maximum Impact explored a similar scenario.

It almost certainly is, though what roles will Kain and Billy have in this conflict?

Kain will be all about the mother of Rock and secrets of his family, Billy on the other hand will explain why South Town needed someone like Gesse and why is so important for Rock to replace him.
>GG threads went to shit after it became popular and I don't need a repeat for SNK fighters
Eh, if Garou 2 ever got big, and by that I mean getting Americans and Europeans to care since SNK fighters do well everywhere else I doubt that it would be the same kind of shitshow as what happened with Guilty Gear. Garou doesn't have that same reputation of "the hardest fighting game ever that I totally played" like the older GG games had so you wouldn't be getting vets b***hing about how the spirit of the series was ruined if Garou 2 ends up being a simpler game. Also Garou's roster was fricking tiny and you can put a safe bet on all of them coming back so not much room for rostergaying either. Only shitflinging you'd probably see is over the graphics and how people wish SNK would go back to their really nice sprites, but that isn't an argument exclusive to their fighting games.
>Garou doesn't have that same reputation of "the hardest fighting game ever that I totally played"
I can never tell with the difficulty because you have anons like
im honestly glad normies are too stupid to get into kof even at a basic level
talk about how casuals can't get into it along with those videos of pros struggling with combos. But then you ask an SNKgay and they say the games aren't that hard to get into.
most normies only know kof via fgc youtubers struggling with kof 13 trials which are supposed to be hard compared to most other fighting games and fighting game youtubers dont really play kof enough to not struggle or just play it like street fighter and wonder why some things dont really work
You gotta understand that the average casual that buys something like SF or MK is REALLY shit at fighting games, so when something like short hops and rolls are introduced as vital elements their brains detonate despite it being a small hurdle for anybody familiar with the genre. Most people just want to go in, mash some buttons, see cool shit happen then go which is why games like Tekken are so popular.
SNK fighters are in that middle ground where you probably wouldn't recommend one to someone starting out in the genre, but at the same time you aren't going to get fricking annihilated and have no idea what's going when picking it up like with Virtua Figher or Blazblue. imo KOF not being that hard (especially now with XV) is true since learning one character basically gives you access to most of the cast as they follow similar combo structures and ways of approach, so all that leaves is getting used to the movement and meter shit. Garou is even easier since you don't have to learn 3 characters, there are no rolls except on recovery, no MAX mode, combos are shorter and move lists aren't that big. The only thing that I could maybe see someone getting tripped up on is the stuff with breakable moves, but that really isn't much and when you combine that with the fact that SNK is going to make Garou 2 somehow easier than Garou 1 you're going to have to be braindead to be unable to pick it up.
The hardest and most intimidating thing about KOF is 3v3.
It's intimidating to have to learn how to play 3 characters when starting, but if you get over that minor speedbump it gets a lot easier, especially with 15.
Shit if anything it gets easier to try the rest of the cast once you get over that since you can just make the character you wanna learn the first one up. I miss rolls so goddamn much when I play some other fighting games.
Also you never need those combos you see in 13 trial vids.
I want Bao back
Solely because my first exposure to SNK was my older brother downloading some shitty MUGEN recreation of it when I was a kid and the version of Bao in it was super strong for some reason so he was my main.
was about to say something snarky but then realized i'm extremely mentally ill and the best local player is too, gotta admit you may be on to something there
I'm only a KOF fan in passing because the girls are ridiculous and I kinda am starting to vibe with the gameplay.
You do not frick with the KOF crowd at tournaments. They're the most energetic motherfrickers around, they fricking love their game.
What was basically a side tournament was louder than the main Tekken tournament at a recent local major.
It would be funny, but seeing as it is the first time many are seeing the character in a long time and at all. I can get why they wanted to keep the original joke. SNK are kinda stuck in an awkward position where a redesign would freshen up the cast but they want the original design to be well known.
I earnestly believe Hinako could win a fight against most of them, mainly the 3d guys. Gan has the benefit of Rival Schools being a pseudo-hyper fighter and Honda can pull from so many games and systems, but what the frick is Taka gonna do when she starts busting out the hop Ds and near fully invincible reversal wall bounce strike
Maybe next year they'll actually have a good lineup of characters but there's still a bunch of XIV characters waiting to be asset flipped so probably not.
yo mexicans

You savage. At least put some cilantro and onions in there. Also a good chile.
Chicken breast, use real tortillas. Only add lettuce, tomatoes and onion for veggies. Half a spoon of sour cream and use salsa macha. Thank me later.
My grandma would basically fry a tortilla with half a burger patty in it, top it your preferred spice mix and jalapenos and dip in salsa
YWNBAM (You Will Never Be as Mexican)

No lettuce sounds like a crime, but this doesn't sound terrible. Thanks Pedro.
just put whatever in a tortilla
jesus, I swear gringos are so stupid they can't even put 2 and 2 together.
Texan, not a Mexican, but:
Choose a meat; usually rotisserie chicken, fajita meat (beef or chicken), shreded pork, salmon (I hate tilapia, but if you like it go ahead), shrimp, or even more "exotic" stuff like barbracoa, goat or lamb. Serve with Pico de gallo, guacamole, and cojita cheese on either a fresh flour tortilla (preferably heated up with butter) or doubled up corn tortilla (god help you if use hard shells).
That's cilantro' lettuce is next to the tomatoes

unfortunately so
I LOVE SEIRAH
I can live with that
uni's getting a new game in a couple months anon

Bamco hates french bread, Dragonball came out a week before or after UNI did.
pottness pepper rubbed eyes lookin' ass

Sadly, yes.
Yeah. SNK is our last hope.
Nope.
What are you going to panic about next, anon?
yes
they released a fighting game with only female fighters
GBVS:R is almost there bros
And its gonna be free
No, SF and MK are the only fighting games with hideous female characters and its been that way for the past 15 years
Frick off, Street Fighter girls were super cute in SFV
Yes but now look at Super Saiyan 3 Cammy in SF6
Capcom must hate women or something because SF6 women are horrible
An unfortunate side effect of appealing harder to Americans with SF6
Sadly (for us) it paid off because SF6 was very successful and you can see morons everywhere praising the game for "how good it looks" and how "beautiful and unique" the girls look.

Alice bros. We'll get a chance to see her in KoF XVI if ever happens.
Maybe in Garou 2. Alice was amazing in KOF XIV and I look forward to more stuff with her as a playable character.
They really need to fix her hair bangs. It's like they stole from Kyo's. Also her render model, her puffy sleeve frills are black while in game are white. They pretty much ruined her a bit.
I like the girls but the game is too hard. Everyone online kicks my ass starting at rank 20. I can't even move.
Now I'll buy your game and DLCs.
I love Hinako but XV models looks weird, especially the hair.
>Also no more Ayako Kawasumi
Looks fine to me, its just SNK's graphics at work
Ayako's way too big of a celebrity now being the voice of Saber and all.
Haven't like, half of the characters had their voice actor replaced? I know Joe got changed, that's the one that hits the hardest to me. Angel too.
Ralf is the one that has it the worst in terms of voice actors being replaced.
Ralf's case is weird, cause his voice actor was great in XIV, but in XV he sounds like he aged 40 years in between.
God, anon, this was probably my first fap, don't do me like this I gotta get up early tomorrow.
I've fapped to this one an unholy amount of time
Silvie a najd were wasted slots...., where's USA team?, or Mature and Vice?, Takuma?, Adelheid?
I just hope she's not as broken as she is in 02UM
She fricking better be, because that was one of the big reasons people even glanced at the character during the sprite days.
I doubt she will be good to be honest, Ramon was bullshit in 02UM and he's the worst character in XV. But then again she's DLC so she needs to be at least decent
>she's DLC so she needs to be at least decent

I hope you're right though.
The only bad DLC characters are the samurai characters but they don't count because they're characters designed for a VERY different game and you buy them entirely for fanservice because you know they're going to be bad. Other than those three, the other DLC characters are at least decent
I think it applies to all characters with weapons unfortunately because Billy Kane is kind of ass too.
Nakoruru isn't even bad though, she's seen some tournament representation. She's just high floor
>But then again she's DLC so she needs to be at least decent
XV's DLC characters have been mostly weak with SOME standout strong characters, and they all had to be buffed eventually.
I mostly remember King of Gato XV when he launched and then after a few mongs BJenet Fighters XV
>so she needs to be at least decent
hello duo lon
Billy, Darli and Duo Lon are literally bottom 3
How to use Hinako in 02UM?
You abuse her god press command grab.

Needed teams
Pretty great. All we need now is Shen and Oswald.
it's pretty fricking good
Kof 15 is growing into one of the best rosters ever
Horrific. XV has the worst cast in KoF history.
>bloomers on full display
Nice
KOF looks interesting, but is there any reason to buy it if I'm not a Latino?
KOF's larger than average roster sizes, and generally fast gameplay (although XV is much slower than past KOF games)
It's pretty good.
Why do people keep referencing South Americans when dominance is established pretty much by chinks and neighbors .This is not early 200s memes
Okay, call me when Momoko appears.
I LOVE MY WIFE!
SEX! SEX! SEX!
cool character, it's a shame I dislike 3v3 games so I'll never touch it.
there's a traditional 1v1 mode with rounds
that's also a mode kof gays condescend you for trying out because they are like how melee gays are with items
I've literally never condescended someone for playing 1v1. In fact, that's how I initially learned the game with KOF95. Once I got used to playing it on and off like that in 95 and 98, I started playing 3v3. I love what 3v3 brings to the table in KOF but if you initially, or always, want to just 1v1 there's nothing wrong with that.
then you're no true kofsman!
had a giggle, I see what you were going for.
>caring about what others are saying about how you have fun in video games
I'll admit I would have taken Malin over her.
I wanted Xiangfei, but I'll hold on to the small hope that she shows up in Garou 2.
I like our odds for CotW, Xiangfei bro
>friend who was really into SNK stopped caring since his hands can't take fighting games anymore
>meaning I only seem to get into SNK when something new happens as I have no one to talk to normally
I think...I need to join an SNK Discord. I'm getting desperate...
>I need to join an ... Discord
groomer
I mean you can crack jokes but anon's not really wrong. If a fighting game isn't ultra popular you're not really going to find many players outside of a Discord server where that stuff can get organized. Not everyone wants to just play whatever's the most popular.
The main KOFXV discord is pretty good for finding games. There's people looking for matches all the time.
I heard AoF is being revived, which is good because AoF normally is ass and this might be a chance at redemption.
AoF3 looks nice, I suppose, but it's still a lackluster fighting game and the first two are just bad in general...
The series isn't bad, it's just different
Well, guess I'm a KOFchad since Ganny isn't coming back for Tekken 8
She cute
SUPER DUPER SUMO
fricking flags
real men fapped to that Athena and friends special with the bao special at the end
she cute
I'm surprised that she didn't get any kind of redesign like Kim, Sylvie and Shingo did.
Her outfit has some differences from the old one but it just some small stuff. I'm happy with the result.
Is this even legal?
Traditional bloomers are meant to be seen. Just look at Minnie Mouse.
it should be
Those arent panties anon.
They're lewd like panties
What's even lewd about it anon?
What ISN'T?
I think you have a problem anon. There isn't anything lewd about Hinako.
The only problem I have is that her sweaty bloomers aren't on my face along with the rest of her
Then you wouldn't be able to see her fight. It's definitely a problem
Fair
It's not lewd at all anon come on
not a very convincing lie
SNK please....
I need them...
They are being held back for reasons
I wonder if they are still ghosts
I'd assume they're alive now considering everyone else is too.
One day bros... one day...
I'm still waiting for him damnit.
You and me both.
I want Adel so bad but I have no idea on how to differentiate him from his dad outside of having less moves.
Literally just make him not broken. That's the whole point, he's Rugal (no prohibido).
Rugal XV is already not prohibido, he's like mid-tier I think.
Never has a fighting game character been cucked from being in the limelight more than this one.
Still pissed off they planned him to be playable in XIII and they didn't bother in the end.
Worse since he's one of the main stars of the Ash Saga.
I want to frick her sister tb.h
I love his theme in XI and I do miss him in general
yeah I need rugalito
Man, KOF XIII did him really dirty.
Hinako stronk
Rank them and their rivals
>Kyo and Iori
Its a classic so not much to say
>K’ and Kula
Does this one even really count? since Kula was barely a rival to K’
>Ash and Elisabeth
This one isnt even a fricking rivalry
>Shun’ei and Isla
This is just really one sided and also gets resolved in the same game does this really count?
Let's be honest, KoF rivals are just stealth ships.
And Kyo x Iori gets more art than all of the other ones combined.
>Its a classic so not much to say
And the gold standard. Iori is a complete irredeemable person and is never going to stop his eternal struggle with Kyo
>Does this one even really count
I mean, she is the anti-K weapon and was the leader of the NEST team during the events of 2001
Isla already gets along well with Shun'ei but they are still rivals, perhaps in KOF XVI we will see more where their new friendship and rivalry will lead.
>Iori is a complete irredeemable person
Is he though? Dude just wants to chill and play jazz but the Orochi sleep paralysis demons keep messing with him.
>Is he though?
>Best Rivalry
Kyo and Iori, no contest.
>Best Rival
Isla is a great character, and unfortunately she's just going to be worst protag's gf from now on. I hate it.
>unfortunately she's just going to be worst protag's gf from now on. I hate it.
Maybe a miracle can happen. Elisabeth is amazing even though she has a fixation with Ash.
Ash has way more personality than Shun'ei, c'mon.
Not that I disagree but I think it was a welcome change to see Shun'ei change from the distraught and angry young man to a more relaxed and calm young man. Shun'ei reflects SNK and how little by little they regain their confidence and power in themselves.
Isla and Shun'ei should switch roles for XVI. Make her the protag and him the rival.
Sort of like Elisabeth and Ash in KOF XIII
She should just replace Shun'ei outright since she does his own gimmick way better than him. Plus nobody would miss him if he was gone, people care more about Meiteinkun than him.
Kyo > K > Ash > Shun
Iori > Elisabeth > Kula > Isla
>SHATTER YOUR EXPECTATIONS
>Doesn't bring back Team USA
It hurts
Bringing back Team USA means bringing back the Lakers homie, and not even SNK has the balls/will to deal with the Xitter mob anymore.
I think it's more that SNK still sees the American Sports Team as a bunch of jobber jokes.
she's a bit of a dark horse entry, but it is nice to see her
So is Garou 2 actually going to be a popular fighter or is SNK going to continue being niche?
Probably a mix of both. More popular than their previous modern installments but less than other AAA fighting games.
Honestly, it depends on what you consider AAA fighting game sales.
>make the game more casual friendly
>make sure it looks slightly better than XV
>don't frick up the online
That's literally all they need to do. Garou 1 is one of those games like GGXX that "hardcore" fightangays constantly like to wave their dicks about playing. So it already has the brand cred, they just need to make sure casuals can play it
Also give the game a good story mode.
SNK has slowly been climbing back up the ladder of relevancy with each release, so unless something catastrophic happens at or shortly before launch it should do better than KOFXV. Don't know if it'll be enough to put it on say Strive's level of success, but it should be good.
>make sure it looks slightly better than XV
From the teaser it looks about the same, but SNK actually did improve the look of KOFXV as the release date got closer, so I'm hoping this means it'll look really good whenever it actually comes out if this is already on par with XV's final look.
KOF XV looked really good in my eyes, now XIV on the other hand..., it was so bad it amost killed my interest in KOF...
>now XIV on the other hand
KOF XIV is an acquired taste. The 3D models take some getting used to, but one can see from the character movements, the specials, and the soundtrack that they really put a lot of effort into the final product.
Plus the game has Alice.
I know the game is in early development right now, but I wish they'd show a match. I like the new shading style in screenshots, but I want to see how well it works in motion.
>I like the new shading style in screenshots, but I want to see how well it works in motion.
It kind of reminds me of what they were doing in Samsho, but they tweaked it a bit so that the characters look like they popped out of a manga.
At the very least, they seem to have fixed the biggest issue from XV, namely the particle effects.
Hair also looks way better in COTW
imo it looks really good for a game that's still quite a ways away from release.
I want to see the new Mai
Nah, their games have been my favourite modern fighters to play but SNK just can't quite get their shit together. The things that get you lots of attention are brand, graphics, content. They've improved in every area outside content, but still multiple steps behind everyone else. SNK talk big but they need a modern looking game with a feature or style that can really make it stand out in a fairly crowded genre.
>did improve the look of KOFXV as the release date got closer
They did but it wasn't massive. It was mostly a few wonky aspects with some models. When consistently their biggest issue has been bad lighting. Just look at how cheap the background is, you could hide so much of that with proper polish. the same was true with XV and they never did it.
sexy girls, it will never be 'popular'
Niche but who cares
>Milf Mai and maybe Yuri
I don't need anything else
And I need Hotaru Futaba
>Niche but who cares
Based
>Milf Mai and maybe Yuri
I want it to be true cause I like it when you see the world in a fighter moving forward. But SNK are a bit to cowardly. I could see them having new outfits but no way they'd overtly age up Mai, and Yuri is just kinda unlikely. XV had a handful of new designs, but the only huge overall was Krohnen cause they kinda had to.
>Yuri
You're gonna have to wait for another AOF game for that anon.
nta
Which characters in KOF are the ones that show up in Garou? SNK has so many fighter franchises that I forget which character is from what.
In MotW? Old Terry, Rock, Tizoc, B. Jennet, Gatou, Hotaru. MotW didn't have that many characters either.
If you mean Fatal Fury in general then its
>Terry
>Joe
>Andy
>Mai
>Geese
>Billy Kane
>Blue Mary
>Yamazaki
>Tung Fu Rue
>Kim
>Krauser
>Raiden
>Li Xiangfei
>Duck King
>Rock
>B Jenet
>Gato
>"Tizoc"
>Alice (pachinko)
Various characters have appeared in stages. Some characters like Luong and Hein could make a case for being added, as KoF originals with direct ties to FF characters. But they aren't canon till they are.
Tizoc proper was also in KOF
Garou is literally just Fatal Fury, but a decade later. So anybody that debuted in a Fatal Fury (and isn't dead like Geese) or Art of Fighting which is a prequel to the events of Fatal Fury is fair game to show up in Garou 2. The first Garou wanted to focus on the new generation which is why everybody but Terry was new, but going by the teaser for G2 there's a higher chance of the originals showing up.
Basically expect characters like
>Terry
>Rock
>Mai
>B. Jenet
>Kim
>Xiangfei
>Duck King
>Ryo but much older than he is in KOF and his name is Mr. Karate II
And don't expect
>Kyo
>Iori
>Leona
>Ash
>Angel
>Geese
>Athena
>Any Samsho character
>he's in CotW
How would you react?
The roster does need a couple rogue picks. If it is just usuals plus a couple motw characters that'd be a bit lame.
Mite be cool but only if Mr. Karate II and Silber return too.
You, me, the 10 people on this board that played XI and the one weird guy who played Buriki One would flip the frick out and everybody else would think he's a new character.
based FFWAchad
>the one Chad who played Buriki One
ftfy
Too based, it would never happen.
Doubting GODA? Big mistake
I would instantly give SNK my money if they brought back Tsugumi or Kasumi for Garou 2.
>no yuri
>again
They could always has KOF characters as crossover DLCs, like for Samsho.
Yuri with hair down...
casual Mai too.
it will always be niche until their graphics meet modern standards. Garou 2 can easily do better than KOFXV by simple fact of it being a 1v1 game though.
I wonder if Rock is going to be the villain of Garou 2.
He's with Kain, and Billy in that promotion pic so it's possible at the very least he's now an anti-villain.
Anti-villain?
I'm saying that Rock might still be internally conflicted and is only going with Kain to seek out info about his mother, but he'll probably still fight against Terry in the end anyways.
His role of replacing Gesse as the boss of South Town will probably be part of this conflict. There's a reason Rock is in the darkness with Kain and Billy, and if I recall KOF Maximum Impact explored a similar scenario.
>His role of replacing Gesse as the boss of South Town will probably be part of this conflict.
It almost certainly is, though what roles will Kain and Billy have in this conflict?
Kain will be all about the mother of Rock and secrets of his family, Billy on the other hand will explain why South Town needed someone like Gesse and why is so important for Rock to replace him.
Man I hope it stays niche, GG threads went to shit after it became popular and I don't need a repeat for SNK fighters.
Fortunately for us SNK games are a mix of niche and mainstream
SNK Fighters are in this weird limbo for popularity as
says
The proof of this is KOFXIV, and then SNK Heroines actually selling okay whereas Guilty Gear Xrd sold like absolute fricking trash.
I can never tell with the difficulty because you have anons like
talk about how casuals can't get into it along with those videos of pros struggling with combos. But then you ask an SNKgay and they say the games aren't that hard to get into.
most normies only know kof via fgc youtubers struggling with kof 13 trials which are supposed to be hard compared to most other fighting games and fighting game youtubers dont really play kof enough to not struggle or just play it like street fighter and wonder why some things dont really work
have you tried any of the games for yourself?
Im not Mexican or Chinese so no
so you rather just latch on to whatever negative opinion you hear instead of trying something for yourself?
Garou is 1v1 KOF so it should do better.
I want Bao back
Solely because my first exposure to SNK was my older brother downloading some shitty MUGEN recreation of it when I was a kid and the version of Bao in it was super strong for some reason so he was my main.
Oh shit Lili and Ganryu’s daughter is back.
Hinako precedes Lili.
Will they finally get Samsho's rollback right this time?
MAINIMASUU
Maybe Itagaki was right and Sumo was always the strongest style
>it's another "match with ms spikes in the thousands and ungodly amounts of rollback frames" episode
Getting tired of this shit.
There is no bigger red flag to avoid a person than being an snk fan. I have never met a person that likes kof that is not EXTREMELY mentally ill.
For me it's the opposite. They are usually down-to-earth people.
was about to say something snarky but then realized i'm extremely mentally ill and the best local player is too, gotta admit you may be on to something there
Sounds like a personal problem.
New Ikari Warriors when?
SNK actively mocks trannies so they're based for me.
the only mentally ill SNK fan I've met is AG42, steer clear of him and the rest are cool
How do I get a Hinako gf?
Be a Rikishi (a strong man)
Is this the only way?
Pretty much, you want a cute girlfriend? Be a strong man.
It's over for me I guess
Time to get in shape and improve your mental health, anon.
>clark and shermie stocks up
>get another grappler
goeniko?
Maybe in Heroines 2
Already canon in all stars
based
Indeed
>no chubby Hinako
Wasted potential.
It would be funny, but seeing as it is the first time many are seeing the character in a long time and at all. I can get why they wanted to keep the original joke. SNK are kinda stuck in an awkward position where a redesign would freshen up the cast but they want the original design to be well known.
who's the one on the far left?
Akatsuki-Maru from Buriki One
cheers
I earnestly believe Hinako could win a fight against most of them, mainly the 3d guys. Gan has the benefit of Rival Schools being a pseudo-hyper fighter and Honda can pull from so many games and systems, but what the frick is Taka gonna do when she starts busting out the hop Ds and near fully invincible reversal wall bounce strike
She should be over 38, older that Terry in the first Fatal Fury and Robert Garcia in Art of Fighting
as if homosexuals didn't already have enough reasons to be hated
im honestly glad normies are too stupid to get into kof even at a basic level
twitter getting into fightan games was a mistake
Hahaha holy shit
always infecting... imagine if this was arc system...
Maybe next year they'll actually have a good lineup of characters but there's still a bunch of XIV characters waiting to be asset flipped so probably not.
Daybit Sirloin approved.
