if I remember right kojima grew up watching one film every night with his family. it was their family ritual or something. so he became obsessed with movies and the actors who starred in them. he always wanted to be a movie director but could never cut it I guess and was forced to do vidya instead, which is why his games are always cutscene-heavy.
Not it at all. His father would make him go to the cinema by himself, then explain the movie in detail to see if it was worth the rest of the family paying to watch.
He also believes that video games can be a more powerful medium, and what he does is no different than a movie director hiring stage actors.
He was offered more than a few movies, but declined them. I think a bit before or during DS he even asked Del Taco for a bit of advice and Tacoman told him that he was already doing movies, called him a homosexual, then hugged him and Kojima was enlightened. I may be dramatizing things a bit, but he did got offers. He mentions during the latest HideoTube.
You skipped a part. He couldn't do the movies because he was busy running his new company and couldn't frick off two years to make a movie or it would collapse. Then when sad from that Del Toro called his games movies.
He doesn't even think that video games are art. He thinks they're more like a museum.
His real passion is movies, he's just an untalented hack that couldn't make a good movie if he wanted.
>His real passion is movies, he's just an untalented hack that couldn't make a good movie if he wanted.
His stories are better told through an interactive medium. You think Kojima couldn't have a movie made if he wanted?
I mean with cases like Shiggy it's actually beneficial because as long as he keeps making movies with israelites he can't shit up any games with senile auteur ideas.
>people who make interesting shit get inflated egos >everything they touch turns to shit as a result
This goes for pretty much every medium. I can't think of many people who've been able to break this curse. Hayao Miyazaki, perhaps.
The little puppet guy animated to look like he's stop-motion, shown in the trailer with no explanation, is one of the most insane things I've seen in a AAA video game.
I kind of want to play the games just to see how they attempt to explain him. I assume I won't get it even if I play the games, but I want to support Kojima's schizophrenia.
the shit framerate trick is actually easier to pull off than in looks
just remove transitional frames from the animations themselves and import that into the game
>I kind of want to play the games just to see how they attempt to explain him.
It's not worth it, at least going by the first game. Death Stranding has a certain appeal that hardly resonates with normies. Most people never finished it, I mean the people that thought "oh this is so cool, lots of production value, so must be an hell of a game", then they see a bunch of cutscenes and some gameplay mechanics that are simply not really their cup of tea and quickly abandon it. Kojima seems to have listened to some criticism, so maybe DS2 will be less monotonic, although personally there wasn't really a problem, but it's kind of his thing to rugpull you into a different approach in sequels.
>I assume I won't get it even if I play the games, but I want to support Kojima's schizophrenia.
Death Stranding's plot and lore are actually pretty easy to understand if you play the game.
My mom saw me play the 2013 tomb raider reboot and suddenly stopped dead in her tracks to ask if it was tomb raider
We used to play the original PS1 games together, she helped my brothers and I beat the big dinosaur boss
I love my mom
>anon checks out Kojima's game >has fun enough to beat it >credits roll >sudden knock on the door >he opens it and its his mom back from the dead >tearful embrace >she sees the credits rolling on the tv screen >oh hun were you watching a movie just now >Kojima steps out of a bush >did you rike it?
>"your mom" marketing
alright all we need now is for him to use an obscure edge song for his trailer
My mom legitimately thought Zelda BoTW was a movie when she saw me playing it.
Why is this autistic frick so obsessed with celebrities and movies?
Because he's a westaboo and that's literally what they think america is about. They especially love wild west shit.

now he's doing an actual movie and multiple games at the same time
Ganker is in shambles

>His words saved me.

Trying to hard to call videogame art and capitalised normies
He doesn't even think that video games are art. He thinks they're more like a museum.

I don't see why they are told better through games.
I haven't played any of his games though.
But Im pretty sure they are very cutscene heavy
Also
>You think Kojima couldn't have a movie made if he wanted?
He could but he would be laughed at
>The only people who make interesting shit get inflated egos and want to make movie games ten years later
every time
I mean with cases like Shiggy it's actually beneficial because as long as he keeps making movies with israelites he can't shit up any games with senile auteur ideas.

You answered your own question.
while i dont always agree with his vision at least he has one, he makes the games he wants to make
this stupid asiatic homosexual says moronic shit like this and thinks hes being profound and that people like his moronic shit ideas
Then I’m not interested.
yes please mr kojima i love movie games please keep making "interactive experiences" yes please please

I like how so much work was put into realistic graphics then he has a talking puppet with low frame rate.

It looks cool. Kojima consistently makes shit that looks and sounds cool—sorry haters!

I love her too anon
LET KOJIMA COOK
My parents walked in on me playing the MGS1 demo back on PS1. They both stopped and asked "What movie is this?".
This headline is a lie. He said that about Physint which is not his next game.
No, it was Death Stranding. I just watched the presentation.
Death Stranding was his previous game.
Yeah, I watched it again. It's his new Metal Gear-esque game.

See anon. Never believe a journalist headline.
Liars, liars. The whole lot of them!
My mom's dead so I doubt that.
Don't doubt kojima
>anon checks out Kojima's game
