Why can't we get a proper Escape from New York game? MGS fricking sucks.
I wouldn't be surprised if we eventually get one but it'd just be a far cry knock off, you clearing a bunch of convict outposts and performing sidequests in an ubisoft mini open world. To me an actually cool escape from new york game would be focused on the procedure of all your retro futuristic gadgets and open ended urban evasion, but you're never going to get something that organic.
weve had several games like that already, even the Dredd game is basically trudging through a fricked up city, i dont know why people want "Games of Movies" when they all turn to shit, even the new robocop game looks garbage compared to some of the murderjustice FPS games weve gotten.
The Terminator/RoboCop guys could pull it off.
they'd make a farcry knockoff with some nice authentic visuals, I guess I can't complain about that but it's not what I'd get excited for.
it's kind of culturally dead tbh, was never that big to begin with.
Carpenter knows Kojima and didn't give a shit. He even called him a nice guy.
Carpenter was always a very chill, cool guy.
There's a TV interview where he, Landis and Cronenberg are talking about their movies. Cronenberg being a pseudo, snobish, fart sniffer talking about himself while Landis and Carpenter are just having fun and being cool, humble guys.
Good to know that someone who murdered 2 kids is cool and humble
>NOOOOOOOOOOO YOU CANT MURDER KIDS
pretty sure the interview was before the famous helicopter incident.
Carpenter is a hack.
Kojima is a genius inventor and creative pioneer.
I like both :3 Carpenter's music is also great:
Carpenter was so brilliant he predicted Pete Davidson on the left there.
EL..... CREATIVIDAD!!!!!!
Yeah no shit he's a hack, you only just figured this out today? lol
if only you knew how hack things really are
>Playing MGSV
>Set in 1984
>Find tape of The Cure: "Friday I'm in Love"
>Year of Release: 1992
Nanomachines
Video games are a lot better when they steal stuff from movies. That's why 80s and 90s games were the best, but then Hollywood stopped making good movies and video games had nothing to ripoff anymore and now they suck.
bitches love Kojima, Gankerincels are just jealous
>verification not required
Why does she look like that?
>Sturges is a fricking hack!
Tarkovsky called this movie a piece of shit. Sturges is a literal hack.
doesnt really matter im not sucking up the opinions of directors jerking each other off the point is that everyone loves it despite it "ripping off" the entire plot and regular people dont call him a hack over it because people usually engage in media itself and dont autistically pick apart references and similar instances.
if i was real neurotic i wouldve done this with John Halo and stormtroopers- similarly it doesnt really matter
He is. Hollywood has been sucking Kurosawa's wiener for almost a century
the game isn't very similar to that movie...
Policenauts was literally cyberpunk Lethal Weapon. Big Boss was literally Sean Connery in MG1. This stuff isn't some revelation
Wait, Kojima directed this? Always thought it was the halloween guy. John something.
Brought up this movie when people talked about a Zelda movie. Released 1 year before Legend of Zelda.
>that voice
Legend really is the secret inspiration of the Zelda series. All the basic ideas are there.
Miyamoto is a hack.
>big evil boss who lives in the dark
>comes into procession of a powerful object
>disrupts the balance of the world
>kidnaps a princess
>forest boy wearing a green tunic is devoted to her
>elf boy with a bow and a fairy come to his aid
>seek out a powerful sword and shield
>travel to the great tree
>they go down through a dungeon
>use the reflective shield and light and destroy the darkness
>returns the object and restores balance to the world
Yeah i thought Kojima ripped off Snake Plisken as well. There's even a scene from Escape from LA that reminds me of the opening of MGS 1
Truman show would make for an interesting game tbh, one part clockwork simulation adventure game, then pg rated escape game at the end.
1 Year before MGS released, seems too coincidental for me. What's interesting about this whole opening section of MGS is that a newer hollywood film basically copied the exact scene from Kojima's game.
This is my favorite movie and Kurt Russel is someone I definately model myself after. Would very much like a game.
>president loomis literally saves your life with a machine gun
>act pissy about him giving proper gratitude right when he's taking a dump and having his face shaved
President of what?
