he is so inhumanly efficient with his strokes, and his strokes are so densely packed with the most subtle visual information, that even when people who are decently skilled try replicating him, they always overdo it and their work ends up not looking like his style at all
the absolute highest tier of art skill devolves into completely esoteric brushstrokes and shape design which defy any possible analysis, yoji shinkawa is very much in this tier

Yeah literally all sorts of people can do this art, and can work up to Shinkawa’s level too. Yoji’s great at it but if it’s something no one can learn, then how did he learn it? People can literally reach that level of skill, and that’s not a challenge or disappointment against you or the artists who are already doing those things
