It's not bait though, OP is actually right about this. The whole game was designed from the beginning to be a continuation to S3K, hence the echidnas and all that. The story picks up right where S3K left off and even references the other games including CD.
its fricking moronic that you can leave a COMMENT in a thread with LEGITIMATE criticisms about ocarina of time (and the N64 in general) and how its overblown and overrated from nostalgia, and get banned for "trolling outside of /b/", and yet threads like this are allowed to be created and stay up. it makes no fricking sense.
I mean I agree to an extent. This is the last game that feels in spirit with the classics and retains something resembling momentum based game play with the broken spindash. It was the last game to use Badniks until Lost World I believe. I feel like Heroes got the trippy locations and poppy music more correct but I wasn't a fan of the teamwork or level up system and Egg Pawns are a more boring shit version of Egg Robos imho.
>It was the last game to use Badniks until Lost World I believe
Adventure 2 used Badniks (mostly Kikis, Spinners, and E-1000s) for the stages around and in Eggman's base.
Bros I'm not baiting, just genuinely bored and decided to get that thought off my chest. I glad that some anons agree with me. But that classic vibe is best felt on the Dreamcast or at least if you are playing the Steam port with BetterSaDX or whatever this mod is called
Nope. Heroes is Sonic 4. It's actually a straight shot game, no hub, no stupid cutscenes, no fishing, no existential angst, just kino. It even has the different character strengths taken straight out of S3&K
there was no "classic" sonic back then. they were just sonic games, but the characters were in a different artstyle. there was no defined "classic era" until gens.
Obviously. But 'classic' isn't defined solely by the character designs, it's something you have to feel. I mean, look at pic related. Aside from their eye color, don't these count as modern designs?
I love Sonic Heroes, they really did find a way to bring the original couple games into 3D with it. Frick choosing characters from the main menu, switching on the fly is where it's at.
People often forget that Adventure is literally the Sonic game that was supposed to be on Saturn, not just X-Treme. It's also far and away the better game.
>was supposed to be on Saturn
That version of Adventure was probably a completely different game. There's too many things in the Dreamcast version that Saturn just couldn't ever hope to handle.
Funny how every adult back then HATED Sonic Adventure, and it was only the kids who loved it.
now they write detailed essays about its greatness.
You'll know what I mean in a couple of years when they start talking about how great Shadow The Hedgehog and Sonic 06 actually were.
I like SA1 because I’m about to beat it for the first time.
I just have the rest of Big and the robot to do and then the last fight.
I loved Sonic and Tails’ paths, Knuckles’ was a bit stale but at least it’s much easier than SA2 so it didn’t take long, and Amy’s was ass on the last stage but at least I enjoyed it because the concept of having to avoid something chasing you was really cool.
Overall I’d give the game a solid 8/10 for a sanic because it’s genuinely pleasant to play and has a lot of neat little hidden items and things, so in an early/pre internet world I could absolutely see myself pouring HOURS (and continues) into exploring everything. Also, some of the OST genuinely fricks so hard.
The last game than had Naka a producer and Iizuka doing anything other that producing (whatever that means) is Ow the Edge. The next big release was done by a significantly renewed team, the only old guard team members being (some of) the musicians.
Sonic Adventure was always the real Sonic 4
Do people make Sonic threads SPECIFICALLY to annoy /vr/?
Half the board is bait at this point

No, what's bait is the fact that Sonic the Hedgehog is a SHIT FRANCHISE but you people keep making threads about it like this is goddamn Ganker.
>Sonic the Hedgehog is a SHIT FRANCHISE
by opinion of you and your grandma?
I personally think Banjo-Kazooie is a shit franchise. And Zelda (to some extent).
If we ban everything we personally dislike from discussion, there will be a single sticky thread with rules and nothing more.
The phrasing is inflammatory as hell. If OP actually wanted to say that he could have said what you just did instead of making a meaningless post.
This board is so shit that the best way to troll is to make a halfway decent thread
>make serious thread
>it confuses /vr/
>they get angry because they think they're being insulted but they feel stupid for not understanding how
Consider how strong of a presence Kiwifarmers and Josh Moon defenders are here, yes.
Null is essentially Dr.Eggman if you think about it.
He even killed BSNES's developer.
The creator of Duckstation is next. Soon only Sega will remain.
please god don't kill the duckstation guy, he's the guy who made PCSX2 actually usable.
It's up to Null. The minute you put on a wig and lipstick you're on his list.
That troony was never proven dead.

People spend all their free time on this board, eventually see similar threads and have a schizo meltdown. This is a staple of Ganker.
even if you like the 3d games, it's still not the last classic game. that'd be mania.
Most Sonic fans already consider the Adventure Era to be its own separate thing, not a part of the Classic Era.
Nope. Heroes is Sonic 4. It's actually a straight shot game, no hub, no stupid cutscenes, no fishing, no existential angst, just kino. It even has the different character strengths taken straight out of S3&K
Okay if you REALLY want to get autistic, Pocket Adventure, Advance 1 and Heroes are also classic. Adventure 2 is the odd one
there was no "classic" sonic back then. they were just sonic games, but the characters were in a different artstyle. there was no defined "classic era" until gens.

Sonic Adventure was good and the bugs came from later versions. The Dreamcast version was more than fine.

this was actually the first modern era sonic game.
Fans are beyond ridiculous, but the game is fun.

people are already turning around on shadow because of the new game and the movie.
