Seeing Lina Inverse in lots of the finals matches and holy shit she really is like a nuke, those AOEs always either 1 shot someone or bring them down to like 1% hp.

Look at the characters you mainly use and then look at their exclusives. Compare and contrast how much of a benefit that piece would be for said character. Go dig in the archives for the resource paste, there might be a link in there.

If you are a new player don't waste controllers on exclusives, you will need them to build SP. The problem with Langrisser Mobile is that having certain SP is necessary to face various endgame challenges and more, especially Cherie, Elwin, Leon, Narm and probably Bernhardt in the future.
Oh crap, I didn't know that you needed controllers for SP class (haven't reached 70 yet). Good to know, I'll forget about it then.
You need some controllers for the class quests they make you do, but one of those is always that you need their exclusives. Unfortunately if the exclusives kinda suck like Cherie, you wouldn't really want to bother until you're building the SP class.
Leon is hardly necessary because he's just an upgrade over his regular form. Elwin is sort of more necessary for copying guides. Bernhardt is already necessary regardless of SP because his aura is the most useful thing about him for endgame content and Cherie is only necessary because she's basically the top DPS and you get her for free. Like again, we have videos of a <1y account clearing all content up to Rag 5 with SP Narm, Lewin, Hein, Cherie, Elwin. You can almost certainly make adjustments.

The rewards aren’t even that great, but I didn’t it anyway because I’m actually a bit low on gold. The best rewards are the ones that gave vouchers and mastery stones. Wish they gave us some enchant packs too.

They put the voucher/crystal rewards on the earlier stages. Putting ribbons is because that's the new mat that incentivizes end game players to bother with these stages, and if you lock a significant enough portion of vouchers behind it, that makes newer players feel like they're missing out on an event. Alternatively they could have also just put borrowed heroes throughout the last set of stages too, but newer players hardly need the ribbons.
I disagree, simply because you can't even use ribbons without hitting certain requirements in the first place, and that assumes the character you want to build has a skill in the first place.
Speaking as someone closer to "endgame" than "newer" the shitty drops for materials to even hit the current (6-10 casting will be even worse) max of casting stats matters far more than ribbons which through TTs, something I have a much easier time with than challenges, I get enough for a character each month. You can't even shard up even launch unit with 7 GoF in 1 month.
As they've been releasing more and more castings, I find myself using more and more ribbons and having to plan out more with the 6 months knowledge we get in advance. For example, I currently only have 130 ribbons. and there's around 20 casting skills I could unlock out of 34 or so left currently, but we only get 12 ribbons through TT whereas they release 4 every MU. You're guaranteed to run out of ribbons as they start hitting units you use. On the other hand, I have maxed casting for like 60 units, and I'm never going to be building these units or getting them faster than I can farm casts. This is obviously going to change once 6-10 is released, mainly because 7-10 use new mats that you have to get from a new mode anyways. Or maybe it's just the burger difference. I've been doing the 99 runs since it released and I'm still at like 400 burgers so it just feels like casting is something I'll finish eventually, whereas ribbons aren't.
My problem is that I only have a use for a few castings, the vast majority are incredibly underwhelming and either give it a modest boost or a shitty boost. Recently feels like they’re getting better and better in some cases, but a lot of them so far have been totally underwhelming

You're better off starting now, but you can get lucky at least. You can even "reroll" on every server so you can make the most of a single email.
You won't without rerolling. The game doesn't flood you with rolls at the start, but rather spreads it out. If you reroll for one, you have a decent chance of getting the other within the month, but they're going to be competing with starting banners that are very relevant for a new player. There is no pity for rate ups, but pity for an SSR is at 100 pulls, so if you start now and save up you'll gather maybe 150 by the end of the month, and then another 100-150 throughout that month giving you okay odds. Also participation in events requires level 30 since the lowest level farming maps are 35 so at the very least you want to start a week before.

I like holy for class ignoring, but I think it depends on what you want her to do because lancer has more attack but the obvious infantry weakness. Nice thing is that both classes have the same high defense.

Holy, no swordie disadvantage and the ATK stat is negible when you are able to OS Christiane or LB with her OP dmg mods.
I know Awakened is best off not taking demon in any kind of pvp content because the number of holy units is too damn high, but assuming you had AB stones to burn would demon be the better choice in pve?

That's it, maybe Apotheosis will have some good synergy with demon classes in general and that might bump her up but otherwise there are better cases to waste time with the rng animations if you wanted to use demon class of a character in PvE.

It's not worse, but it's not drastically better, and you still have to worry about Holy weakness if you're not careful. Shalltear's demon class has a superior stat line but you're likely to face so many cavs, of which her Lancer advantage will be far more useful.

For converters, and a DEF version already exists. Besides, if they were going to make an INT version, they would've done so a long time ago. It's intentional on their part since they only want mage powercreep on their controlled terms. See Lucretia for the range powercreep. And later Roland/Jayce for a powercreep of the INT talent passives.
I'm in the process of upgrading Elwin, a couple more days and I get his 3c. I noticed from the leaderboards that most people run him in his lancer class (outside of his SP of course). Is that a PvP thing or is he better as a lancer even for PvE? What are his generally best soliders?
By the way, his first 3c challenge was a pain, damn Berny with his sword dance. Took me several time until my passive + breeze triggered so I could run away.
There probably isn't a notable difference except for hitting weaknesses. Usually the weapon matter a lot more, but Elwin's unique works on both. If you had to pick one, I guess it would depend on whether you want an offensive lancer, since PvE content where weaknesses actually matter can favor the infantry class. Eventually you get his SP which is better than both of them, so either choice is kinda temporary.
So it seems like a situational thing. He's been doing his job as infantry for the moment, I should probably just stick to it until I get his SP.
Iirc lancer has the higher base power level. Maids are far better than his lancer soldiers so if you want the extra +1 move for his SP 2c you use him as inf. I personally only use him as SP when there's some kind of challenge content where the preemptive attack or extra movement works out well. He's otherwise always inf for me since his base talent is superior if you want him to hold off a couple hits on the enemy turn.

Technical question. In the case of items like this, does the received healing effect stack with talents and soldiers? For example, Elwin's talent or the warewolf soldiers that heal after battle.
I don't know what you mean by stack because they're different modifiers, but yes, Aeneas works with Elwin's talent and it should work with Werewolves too.

I've been grinding crystals for months (free player). I'm scared.
All right, 200 summons. 2 Zelgadis, 1 Lina and 1 off banner Precia. I'm happy with this, Slayers was the reason I started playing 4 months ago.
After going through a nostalgia trip on langrisser games, I decided to try this one out, just to see things, it's probably the best among the srpg gachas I've tried, of course, best srpg gacha being quite the low bar.
That said, I've been checking stuff out, and what the frick is this confession thing I see on girls? Most of the langrisser girls are taken, what's the point.
Yeah, gotta keep the lonely whales happy I suppose. I personally don't like the majority of the original characters this game made, their designs deviate too much from Langrisser and they don't look much different than any other gacha. I'd liked if they colaborated with Urushihara more, we got like a couple of skins from him and that's it. Other than that, I'd say the game is pretty good, at least you can get summarized stories from all those Langrisser games that never got translated.

I never really used it since the only int hammer I use is GoeL, but I remember people saying it's just as good if not slightly better than standard mage options at launch. Is it actually shit? Like in pvp yeah I get it, good luck keeping 80% if you don't attack first.
GoEL has half the INT of even basic ass blue moon. It only barely works on "supports" like Yulia/IBC because there's not much better and they are there to do a lot of off healing or buffs over kills.
Actual attackers like even King of the Red Moon, nevermind Lina or Zelgadis need serious stats to get kills.
And yeah Queen's Scepter sucks in PvP and isn't great in high level PvE once the mini/boss sneezes at you.
Being a hammer it already gives less Int than a staff, it compensates this somewhat by its 5% bonus over any basic staff but the condition is an ass as anon pointed out. Any AoE or prebattle fixed damage ir anything like that and it’s a grand total of +0 bonus Int.
It might work for Zelgadis as his 3C has a prebattle full heal but i wouldn’t put it on Lina ever.

Aside from that I'm considering getting Elaine or Verner to 6*. JP so no Lina yet. God I hope Roland/Precia banner doesn't frick me in the ass and the collab banner doesn't give me the man 3x like Lodoss did.
Just leave her at 149(299) shards until you roll Lovina. Then clear the final fight to get your bond. I've had to do it a couple of times so it's not fun but it's at least efficient.
The thread or the game, which are you referring to? Either way, this board will likely last another decade at least, and the game at the most possible time should last that long.

If you really want to shard Lightbringer you could do it two shards at a time instead of three if you don't want to waste wheels but then you wouldn't be able to use her anyway. Currently the best way to get Lovina is with the Build banner.
If you don't compete in Apex you could build her even without DEF Bond. Currently my Christiane 5* only has the ATK bond but she does a decent job.

For now Roland and Precia only unlock DEF bonds except for Isolde who needs Precia for the ATK bond.
Honestly with the fact that after the end of act 3 the units are practically only useful for Covenant, Ragnarok and the challenges, I no longer have that impulse to get new units and build them so I started to take the game more lightly, naturally for those who compete in Apex the situation is different.

No, it's about the unique buff it gives, so a character doesn't even have to have a faction buff skill at all to use it.
For example, Autokrato4 doesn't have a buff. If you cast your Bernhardt's buff, then Autokrato when using that weapon will get the ATK/DEF stat increase.

Global, with the continuous increase in units, being able to plan at least five months in advance is a godsend. The only flaw with Global is that it is global, so depending on where you live you may have problems with events that are only active at a certain time.
If you decide to start the game, remember that for the first few months it is better not to chase waifus but focusing on obtaining units can help you complete most of the PVE challenges that are needed for account progression.

If you can understand Japanese and won't miss the burger handout at 12-15, even better if you can get the other two as well, there's no reason to not pick JP for the extra foresight. There's also more time to stockpile for Slayers if you're interested in that. Otherwise stick to global, especially if you think you might want to spend later on since yen is probably going to recover eventually.

Is Licorice worth building for PvE content? I guess she can take the role of Bozel for the Reincarnation faction, but I barely have anyone from there yet. Good pull regardless, she seems to unlock a lot of bonds.
Mostly for some challenges, a fusion buff, and an off-healer.
You'll still want Bozel regardless but she's still worth building even in a purely PvE context.
Note however she requires 6* and her personal helmet. Especially if you want to "budget" your enchants and use the crystal setup instead of clock setup.
she serves as my Faction bawd when Bozel is bringing his 3C and another AoE
if you don't have anything too useful to invest I see no reason not to build her at least to 5*
Did anyone here play Langrisser rebirth? I've just played through most again, and this banner reminds me this is the one I decided to avoid because it was rated as badly as only legitimately shitty games get rated. Is it as bad as it sounds ?
The impression I got from people that played it is that it's inferior to the originals in both artwork and gameplay, so it's better to just emulate those.

It does hit twice, so I think there would be 2 dispels? The def debuff doesn't stack with itself though. He is also really useful for just being able to plop him down next to some poweful challenge boss to lower their stats, so building him is always a good idea.

I just beat Bozel with the power of friendship (episode 50). In terms of story progress, how far I am from catching up to the current story episodes? Half way through?
The first act is the easiest and has the most irrelevant plot. We're about 80% done with act 3, so reading wise maybe 30% since the next two have extra maps and stuff on the side. Content wise they put some real bullshit maps if you don't use covenants, so if you're barely scraping by in the story maybe 20%. Also they put some pretty important lore in the gate of fates of certain units.
30%? A long way to go then. I don't recall any of the story missions being difficult so far. Not the same can be said about those challenge fights, way to reliant on gimmicks for my taste. Still, now that I unlocked Thor, I need to go back and finish those last challenges.
The first act doesn't really have any difficult stages except maybe the Langrisser sword one, but you can easily over level enemies. Act 2 spams a ton of 4 range infantry cyborgs, has huge maps and lots of reinforcements, and enemies are scaled for level 60 and almost maxed training field at that point, because it released after months and they wanted to keep story difficulty relevant for end game players. Ironically, the early part of Act 3 is easier, and with today's stats Act 2 is also much easier if you have castings and stuff unlocked. However, the curve in Act 2 is way more steep for newer players starting out if they actually run through the story regularly instead of putting it off, whereas in Act 3, the early parts are tuned to fresh level 70s, and the later maps get more difficult.
Thanks for the warning, it's gonna be an uphill battle for sure. So far my top 8 (+ Liana) has been doing great for me, though having only Ledin as a tank and at 4 stars is starting to be a nuisance. LoG and Elwin are almost at 6* so I should probably focus on him next, or maybe start building a second one (have Landius and Christiane in the bench).
God frick I might just give up on Ragnarok 1-3, the only thing I know for sure happens is mob spawning in clock/counterclock and the boss throwing debuffs at random people when he teleports.
Ledin is a rare one in that he works close to peak performance at 3* if your Tiaris is good enough or 4* if not. Just go straight for Christiane since she's never going to stop being good because Princess faction is a meme.
Just do Ragnarok 1-4, is way easier and gives more doom emblems, guide is easier to follow.
1-4 was my first stage clear ever since it was piss easy, 1-3 is the last one in the set. My brain can't handle actually thinking cuz I'm a moron.

Finally cleared Ragnarok 1-3. I realized what moronic move I was doing wrong. I still fricked up one move but thankfully Baldr secured the kill on turn 4 since anyone else would have exploded. Now the first set is cleared at least, dunno when I'll hit the others.
Also I offbannered GitS, I assume she's still in the build her if you like her otherwise bench category.
She's the second source of -30% all stats like Lucretia which already makes her valuable, and she hits quite hard once you wait 2 turns because of the extra 10% int. Her 3c is also on a 2 turn cd instead of 3 turn, but normal Luc has the op puppet obviously. I wouldn't sleep on her but yeah, a vast majority of the characters are build if you like. There's maybe <20 characters in the you should build no matter what category.

It counts you opening the game, not actual logins. So you can just open and exit 20 times.
Crap, I almost missed that event too. Fortunately I only need the joint battles one to complete them all so hopefully tomorrow I'll have that done.
It's a crunch but you can just do whatever is available after getting your 70 dailies, lots of newer players start lower level jbs at the time.
The last one can sort of be cheesed by Luna and any long range mage. The fourth is a pain if you don’t have a maxed covenant because of how much hp they have, but the only danger is Rainforce and Archon’s pull. Everything else gets stopped by a tank and debuffs, so units like Bozel are great here, or Lico for the tiles, or a tank like Hilda who debuffs when they enter battle, or even Betty who can drop 4 of their stacks with every unit hit.
Finished the collab story. It was actually pretty nice.

Good stuff. I found the event challenges impossible for a new player (minus the first two) so controllers gifts are very welcome. I may be able to build my first SP sooner than expected. I think I'm gonna go with Cherie, apparently she's pretty good.
There used to be a single challenge with some kinda weird gimmick that allowed newer players to have a chance at clearing them but that ship sailed. Now even with event buffs, when available, it's really rough.
Cherie is the best choice, she loses flying but all of her weaknesses get squished and she gains +1 move.

How much are you able to sweep in Timeless Trials? I just reached SSSSS (I don't know how many "S", the very last one). Will the sweep next week get me to that rank or will I have to fight the boss from the previous rank again?
Did you finish the floating realm building? If you did that, you'll be able to sweep up to SS5 (the fight that gives the weekly ssr accessory) if you defeat the very ladt trial. So yes, you'd have to do all the fights after that. I do wish they'd just let you sweep them all if you've won, there's more than enough busywork that sweeping all TTs won't cut in their bottom line.

This is my small roadmap so far. I'll go heavily on Awakened One and then wait for the pick a character banner hopefully to get Young Jess. If I manage to get both, move onto Florentia and Tsubame so I can build Christiane. All this means nothing really since Awakened One can royally screw me over.

For PVE or for PVP? The next updates won't be bad, skipping them is not advisable and remember that the build banner is a trap, if you don't absolutely need those bonds I would skip it. From what I've seen, Oboro will be back in a few months with Roland in rate-up while McClaine, if I'm not mistaken, can be summoned from the lang 4-5 banner so at most you could wait to see/try the new units. However it depends on the situation of your account, for example with or without bonds I would still have tried to summon Apotheosis even if I know that I will probably almost never use it.
Don't forget the Omega/McClaine/Tsubame destiny, which will be reran for sure at least once in the future if he's willing to wait.
Only real need is Oboro but she is still able to kill stuff even without her Atk bond

Demon is usually the best even without weakness nullification for pve. If you end up wanting more move/flying movement then obviously flyer but idk where you would even use him in pve outside of just purely wanting to use him.
Apotheosis is tweaked Wettham, yes. But one of those tweaks is that demon class has 5 move over Wettham's 3, which is why no one but newer players use demon Wettham on top of the differing equipment.

It's a shame that Almeda and Grenier won't be featured in the new story. I can understand retiring Matthew after everything he's been through but the other two still have a lot to say, and honestly Roland and Precia aren't that great from what we've seen so far.
Is there a benefit in going over 100% crit rate? For example, Lina Inverse, who can have 100% crit rate at almost all times. No point in trying to get crit in the accesory, correct?
Only benefit would be against enemies that reduce crit chance. Landius for example, has an aura that reduces crit chance by 30%.
Ah, gotcha, so it's not capped at 100%. I don't do pvp so it'd be a wasted stat.
In PvP it’s good because like another anon said, there are characters who have auras or effects that reduce their chance to be crit.

Pretty much, though there are some insane "new" units that can make your whole life easier. You don't really need Lana or Rachel early on anymore for example, there are long range mages like Lucretia and Light of Genesis that are far superior and makes everything a joke. But yeah, Elwin/Tiaris/Liana/Bozel/Leon still pretty strong.

Getting one of those two is fine (you'll need to consider getting a tank also), they help tremendously in pve. Keep in mind that is a slow process, you'll be spending a lot of resources building your main team evenly. By the way, you getting two copies of Tiaris helps a lot, she needs to be your focus on getting her to 6* asap. She is top tier because of her talent, but in order to trigger 100% of the time, she needs to be 6*. The moment she misses the trigger, your tank will die.

I can’t think of a single gacha that doesn’t have some kind of stamina time gating. But yeah we do eventually get showered with burgers, definitely the most stamina resources out of all the games I play.
Granblue but you could argue that YOUR own stamina is the time gating.
Seconding Granblue, functions similar to Langrisser's but that throws heaps of consumables at you (ended up with 200ish within a few days when I tried it) and there's a gorillion avenues to get more so you're never going to get locked out in normal play. Think you can even get them from the casino which only takes the equivalent of gold to play
Also not sure if you'd count it since it's strictly console/PC but Gundam Battle Operation 2 is a gacha shooter with no stamina/energy nonsense. If you can fill a lobby, you can play any time
I guess you've never played Genshin Impact, Langrisser Mobile is very generous in comparison when it comes to stamina and more. Apart from Aniki, most of the farming must be done only with daily bonuses and in any case it is a game that must be played slowly because sooner or later you encounter a stats check that you cannot pass if you try to complete both the story and the time rift too quickly. One piece of advice I can give is that once you unlock the Wednesday/Sunday merchant, only buy the burgers, if there are any.

Man RoR and Portal Leap have got to be some of the shittiest additions to this game considering their late game content. Fricking RoR has you reading paragraphs and guessing mechanics or watching half hour videos to see what's going on, and Portal leap is endless voyage tier puzzle maps that don't even let you use your own units.
I just want regular Langrisser battles where my units bump into other units, for fricks sake.

Currently prepping Cherie to upgrade her to SP next month. Already got her exclusive (50), unlocked all the classes and have decent equipment on her. What are her best soldiers for pve? Is it still Angels?

Cool, angels are maxed, so the work there is done. I'll look into Unicorns to see if it's worth leveling up for more than 1 unit.
Unless you need maximum damage angels are the way to go, otherwise griffons. Unicorns I've never took on her but sometimes when following a challenge video I take dragoons. Those are super niche so I don't recomment building them at all. Unicorns are taken on basically everyone that can use them honestly, Gren is basically the only one who can't use them because she's a flyer and warhawks are stupid strong.
So I should start building unicorns regardless for everyone else. I'll look into it, thanks.
Her SP unlocks Unicorns, but their schtick is Terrain Master, which gets built-in SP Cheries talent anyway and their bonus is on grassforest so they're very situational.

Save unless you really want one of the limiteds on rate up, since it'll be 6 months before they return and sharding is slow. Wettham is probably the best option all things considered, with Awakened One close behind (the latter is generally stronger and has more tricks due to being a long range mage with debuff potential and a bunch of other shit but her bonds are miserable to get. from pe i rolled her when she was released and still only have 1 of her bonds, meanwhile you can just wait for a destiny to get zerida and you're good to go with wettham). Since it's double gate of fate week, I would suggest Tiaris(4)/Bozel(4)/Lightbringer(3)/Light of Genesis(3)/Cherie(4) for your runs to maximize efficiency. Even for SRs you lack events will trickle them out through giveaways.

I'm lv35 and I feel like I just get shat on by lv35 content
It's because you're expected to have a FB at level 35, so enemy stats jump to account for that. You can expect another jump at 40 because enemies start to have T3 troops, and then a smaller one at 55 because you're expected to have class mastery. I love how random shit from 5 years ago on release is still relevant honestly, I remember getting my shit smacked in by Aaron on 4-2 Elite because you needed to clear for class mats to unlock T3 troops, but nowadays you can just use guilds.
It's an uphill battle until you reach 70. The game is always pushing you to the limit and I kinda miss that honestly, it becomes significantly easier later on (aside the usual event challenge bullshit).
Best advice I can give you is to focus on your top 8 characters. Don't waste resources on anybody else. Upgrade every gear you can equip them to the max you can get them, don't worry about the shinny ssr gear, even if you get them you won't be able to upgrade them properly until later on. Lastly, don't forget about leveling up the soldiers, they are as important as the characters themselves.
I met a guild mate who was constantly complaining about the difficulty, he was lvl 70. When I decided to check his characters to help him out, every single equipment he had was lvl 30. He though that having the character at level 70 was good enough and he should be able to steamroll everything.

But the mission after that one is to defeat the Dark Dragon, who shows up on sundays. If I complete the dark dragon this sunday, will it counts towards completion when the mission unlocks on monday?

Yeah, I did it as soon as I read/realized that you need heal block and buff block. I used Elwin/Gourry for Heal Block with improved SS, Lucre2 for buff block, Rozalia for buffs and overall being good damage, and Liana to heal and AA Lucretia 2. I did get Lucretia's buff block on the first turn, but he did his buff T1 anyways, so I think I fought him with like 15% more stats? It does get easier the more damage you deal ironically because of his defense, by the time he was under half or 25% my Elwin was hitting 100k to him basically. Lucretia didn't really do anything except apply Buff Block and deal like 50% to the spawned minions, so honestly could probably replace her with any mage with undispellable buff block. If you don't have Lucre2 built, I would use Narm instead, since Deadeye is undispellable, and maybe bring Sophia for rewind. You only really need to block his buffs 2/3 times, and while it might be harder if he buffs once towards the end, his def is already lower so you can still dps through. Also ironically, you don't eve need buff block if you only inflict cannot be dispelled, which Lucre2 does anyways. If you want to avoid bringing buff block, just try with those. Yes, there's no point going for both wishlist characters unless you don't mind getting shards. The special ones will let you reset twice anyways, and the Lang specific ones come around every month. I would never roll on a banner where I already have 1 unit unless it's a destiny, collab or I need to spend crystals for the anniv skin.
I guess now I don't need to throw away Luna's bow that's been collecting dust for ages if someone else comes out and uses it.

How important is Epsilon's sword for pve? Bringing Zerida for meteor runs is incredibly frustrating since either her soldiers suck or she can't do shit until turn 3.
Only important for ignoring demon disadvantage. If you don't have it, it's going to suck trying to fight holy units. Even though Gargs and Heavy Inf are alright, Zombies + his prf is why he rose up the ranks in the first place.
You can try running Dark Elf Snipers if you don't want to Bloodthirster, which have pretty decent attack and a 45% boost.
Looks like your wishes have been answered by the CN devs. She can now act again if she has no soldiers on a 2 turn cd and with +3 mobility. Mobility isn't too relevant for PvE, but this also means she can now hit from 14 tiles away on T1 in Apex with a guard ignore and direct hero hit, although she doesn't have a self attack buff unlike Ham or Leon and doesn't ignore terrain. Also slightly less relevant is that she doesn't have to kill off her soldiers leaving her open and she can bring tank troops.
Seeing this Act Again implemented for Zerida gives me hope that they will unfrick Saintess of the Ark eventually. She's one AA inscription away from greatness (or well, tolerable performance).

Frick you Zlong, giving a fricking buff that serves no purpose other than making a difficult challenge even harder. Seriously what the frick did it take to make it "cannot be dispelled", the map rng is annoying and that fricking buff makes it even harder. Yet another game mode ruined by artificial difficulty, if the boss of the first area is lv 80 with such ridiculous mechanics, the final boss will probably be lv 120 and immune to all debuffs and who knows what other bullshit.
Just buff block with Narm. It's hardly a difficult challenge without the buff in the first place. Also the stats on each of the maps actually won't really differ. If you picked up the buff by accident, the first boss is probably the 2nd hardest fight of this event.
I'm disliking the way points work in this event. I missed like the first set of dailies, but finished the stage well before tons of people, but have dropped like 20+ ranks or so just due to that. Will just be a struggle to stay in the top 100 at this point, I think, unless people slack off.
I didn’t even know there were dailies, events really should come with a warning if that’s the case. It was hard enough beating this stupid boss, I wasn’t even wanting to do the event at all because it didn’t seem possible until I found out about the shield buff from the legion of glory path.

It's all up to you. Obviously in pve more int = more better so scepters aren't as in demand outside of certain content. I personally use red moon on everyone but Lana who has astaroth. With bat mages being a thing I thought about building more of them but never really got to doing it. e-girljess is the only one I actively use that I keep scepter on since she needs to get her talent rolling. Kayura is another but I really only pull her out for when Frigg comes out.

Pretty sure edge/clock just doesn’t work on transforming skills like Ashram. My Lana is still just using Astaroth too, and I still haven’t swapped her over to Breeze yet. I would put on a Red Moon since it benefits both ST and Aoe. I don’t like SoD on her because she doesn’t have 4 base in the first place and you’re just making her a worse version of other mages. Her second unique aspect is having 2 skills that can self heal that are effectively 0cd unless you get unlucky, so I prefer to spec her into ST and in that case I would run Astaroth or Pale Staff. With her EE and Poison bat mages, you have a good chance of hitting a mdef or damage taken debuff so she hits hard.

Oh btw in case anyone somehow missed it, but in the Mirror World, in the Carmen City, you can enter the Vault - it has completely separate shop where you can buy stuff like joysticks and SSR equips right now for lamps and also exchange some of your garbage for low-tier dark lamps too. The selection is supposed to increase with the amount of emblems earned
I keep SoD on all mages if I have spares, and switch as needed if the extra range doesn't matter. +10% int / 5% hp from red moon is nothing to scoff after for damage checks, and I've ran into plenty of challenges where Astaroth stuns made for easy attempts.
We're at the point where so many challenge bosses are getting into +5 range territory that SoD has lost some of its utility, but general purpose it allows for better positioning and safety for non-tank shenanigans.

Opinions on Charon for Awakened? Technically, it should be able to trigger after her dimensional shift, right? So you can follow with Metatrophe right after. Currently I have a dark crown on her which is meh, don't have any Tennyos.
She's too far most of the time to make good use of it. Aside from tennyo other decent options would be any hat that gives a buff to a near by or adjacent ally or glory which is kinda like tennyo in that most that can use it will want it.

In my experience, it's been 95% manual. You have to actually strategize and think about your team composition. At the end game you become so overpowered that you can auto just some dailies, but you will still play manual the rest. I don't play other gachas so I don't know how it's over there, but this is not a easy laid back game, it will push you to think constantly.
As for tips, watch some noob tips on youtube, even the old ones still apply. You need a solid base team, which for new players usually is Ledin (tank), Elwin (DPS), Leon (DPS) Tiaris / Liana (healer). There can be some variation in there, but that's a solid start.

Do the quests and get your free Cherie. She's one of the best pve heroes in her SP form (evolved form, late game stuff).
Destiny banners are the best banners to roll on when you're starting out. The heroes featured on the newcomer banner are still useful to this day. I would look for Leon (hit and run hero, can be run off faction) for your first damage dealer, and then pick up Elwin/Bernhardt on their recurring banner. You're guaranteed one of the heroes you don't have, so pull one and then quit.
Ledin is useful, but outclasses as a tank. I also believe Tiaris is the better healer (vs Liana) when first starting out. Don't worry about your healer being on faction starting out, either. Also keep an eye out for long range mages like Light of Genesis, Lucretia, and Awakened one. They are high utility and worth their weight in gold early on.
This game rewards steady play and logging in daily. People have called it a marathon and that's not far from the truth. You'll sometimes hit walls, very commonly at 35 (people don't build a faction), or near level 55+ where you start hitting tougher content. You'll probably know whether the game is for you by then anyway.
Don't forget to join a guild. Earning any guild tokens you can by getting help from guild members will help immensely when building heroes, otherwise you're locked out of materials until you can clear their respective Time Rifts. Sorry for the wall of text.

I built a faction and still ate shit shortly afterwards because every single mook seemed to be decked out in upgraded gear going by their stats, meanwhile there wasn't enough hammers to go around to keep mine up to date outside of a couple of characters
I'm also having this issue, even with the daily bonuses, I can maybe get one piece equip from 30 to 40. So by the time I hit the next ''jump'' in difficulty I think the game expects me to have gear 10 lvls higher when I haven't even finished maxing the previous cap

I had it that for awhile until I got the salad bar unlocked.
About the hammers, the way I did it early on was to save on hamburgers and sweep tickets. When I had like 20 of each, I went ham on the dragon I unlocked the most. I wasn't even looking into getting an SSR weapon, just hammers. I got so many it was smooth sailing from that point forward, the real handicap became gold.

Langrisser M gets challenging fast past the early stages, one or two mistakes can lose you a map. You'll eventually be able to bruteforce things with pure stats but you won't have the equipment or resources for that starting out
As far for the proper mainline games, only played 1&2 but they were pretty easy until enemies start nuking you in cramped spaces. Best version of 1 available is probably the 1998 pc version, there's an english patch. There was also some massive langrisser torrent floating around years back that had emulators, games, translations, basically anything you'd need to get into the series, might want to hunt that down
It's not a very auto-friendly game. The game wants you to form a faction by level 35 and stick with it until you can branch out later. Tank/healer/damage is very much a staple for a large chunk of the game. Empire, Glory, and Princess have some of the strongest PVE heroes. Stay away from PVP heroes when starting out unless they double for pve, such as Awakened One.
Kong on youtube has a decent should you summon series if you're ever want a quick run down on heroes or banners as a whole.

Yeah it's pretty nice. You can do every chest event without fighting, even the last ones at level 60. Get two teleporters (usually Jessica and Hein) and a flyer and you're set for every chest. You don't need to level then up too much, just unlock the teleport skills and you're good.

i'm one lf the new anons, what class should I put on everyone from the guaranteed characters? I read that I only have to upgrade classes with 2 upgrades and not the ones with only one, but I don't know if its a personal prefference or there is a 100% this class thing. Also I need help with Matthew, I have him as a Fighter right now but don't know if I should go ranger/sniper or swordsman/hero.
For the beginner banner character I still don't know what faction I wanna play. I like Leon but not all of the characters (only a few of them) so I don't know if try going full Empire's Honor or keep playing with my characters and build Legion of Glory.

and for reference, if you have flier class for matthew, just upgrade that fully, hero is important for his fusion buff but that's not necessary for your current lineup. lance is not good, but he is another flyer if you want to fully upgrade him. you're actually at a bit of a benefit since grenier has his non sp archer class, and that'll be very useful especially if you don't have another archer on hand while doubling as a tank. jessica obviously only has 1 class line to complete, but if you're wanting to think ahead on a tight budget you can just ignore her mage line and complete her priest secondary class, thus having a utility unit with teleport and mass heal all in one. almeda usually goes martyr line if you need AoE but oracle is an option of you want mass heal access to focus on making her a healer. scott is useless
yeah, for characters you'll use you'll want to complete most of their classes eventually but that is quite s bit off for you now
I only have the guaranteed characters since I didn't pull anything, so I have Lance Matthew Jessica Grenier Almeda and Scott.
For Lance then I go Dragon Knight -> Dragon Master, Matthew Swordsman -> Hero? (started with Rookie -> Fighter), Jessica Priest, Grenier Bow Knight -> Bow Master, Scott I can just go Highlander -> Knight Master I guess, and finally Almeda Bishop -> Oracle.
Also, pic related is the beginner choose SSR, do I just go Tiaris + Leon or do I go full Legion of Glory and pick Tiaris + either Ledin or Elwin? Another option is trying in Cycle of Destiny but I don't know really well if pity is shared from this banner just in case I don't get any SSR.
Pity is account wide, so it applies to all banners except gear banners. If you haven’t rolled yet, first pity is at 40, then 70, before going to 100 like normal. There’s always a Lang 1-3 wishlist banner every month, so don’t worry about missing older SSRs. I would start with Tiaris and Leon for an easier time in general content as canto is just that useful and you can go for the rest later, but Elwin will serve you better in ET at 55 so if you’re confident in tank and spank you can go for him first. Alternatively Vargas is a very strong phys tank for Empire and you can go for Bern after Leon, but either way both are the best factions for newer players and you can’t go wrong.
The game is very generous when it comes to handing out crystals and trinity vouchers, so you can go with whatever you want. A few notes:
- Pity point for a new account is quite low, so you'll get your first couple of SSR very quickly (within 50-70 summons aprox).
- ALWAYS use the option to draw 10 (instead of 1). That way, you're guaranteed to get at least an SR with every pull.
- Around level 35 or so (can't really remember) the game will give you an item (star dust or something like that) which will let you choose an SSR hero with faction buff. Here is where you can get your SSR tank Ledin if you didn't have him at that point.
- There is another item you will get earlier that will do the same for an SR hero. Usually people pick Vargas or Freya (both are tanks). Both are very good and will do the job nicely until you get Ledin or any other SSR tank of your liking.
- As for class upgrade, Matthew usually goes first with his hero class, because you get his faction buff at the end of it. Same with Granieer (Grand Marshall), since his faction buff is at the end. Also Lance with Dragon Master (faction buff at the end). If a character has a faction buff at the end of one of their trees, it's usually a good idea to go that branch first. Almeda goes first for Martyr, she's not really a good main healer, but she's great at applying debuffs to the enemies and is very usefull.
- In reality though, once you start building your main SSR team (which will be quite soon), you'll kinda forget about most of these starting characters. They will still be useful for events that demand the use of them but don't stress about them too much.
-Lastly about Leon, even if you are running a legion of glory team, he's still very good. He has a skill that will buff himself up before attacking, sort of like a mini faction buff. For this reason he's self sufficient and you can put him in any team you want no matter the faction.
Leon/Tiaris are the most flexible early on, but Elwin is key for Glory and very important late game challenges. Tiaris's talent wants a high star level and should be a priority for sharding. Most standard maps are tank and spank, well into Part 3 and late game time rifts and unless you get your hands on Rozenciel she isn't really replaceable in my opinion.
All others are very useful and can come in clutch, but somewhat outclassed by modern units. Leon was falling off quite a bit until his SP form added a bunch of utility to his kit.

Well even presuming only pity, that's 12 ssrs, and it's basically impossible to at minimum miss out on enough Ryos to trade in the very worst case of rolling a ton of Ryos before rolling Kayura. So you should be fine.

Good question... it depends on the conditions of your account, in the last year in my opinion the difficulty has increased so if you don't have a really strong account and with many units built you could have problems with many limited time events. Honestly, although the game is very f2p friendly, I wouldn't even recommend it to a new player, the endgame stats check has become too high.

The portal leap content isn't fun. It doesn't even feel like Langrisser. Time Rift was infinitely better. I don't get to use my units. I get to play rehashed puzzle maps or giant frick off puzzle maps with 20 units moving on the enemy turn. Frick the moron who thought of this.
Mirror World madness is also starting to suck. It started out as a themed dimensional expedition with some minor improvements and now I'm fighting level 100+ giga Black person units with 3-4k stats and fricking time laws that constantly shit on my cooldowns. I have all covenants done, have done a majority of ragnarok, beat recent challenges, and thought I had decent units, but apparently not.
Yeah, dungeons are absolute garbage, should have been just 5 floors if anything.
Use Cherie with upgraded shadow raid. She alone can clear 1-4 in the abyss and help get 2 turn clears very easily. Anything past 5+ and 30+ in the main abyss you're going to need a faction buff and the corresponding upgrades in the federation tent. You also want to clear the side dungeons because they give like 270 base atk/int in the main one.
The cd dungeon sucks, but remember there's no pressure to finish in 2/4 turns and you can wait out cds as long as you want as long as you don't attack, which would increase your cds again. It's meant to be hard content, that's why they give like hundreds of supplies and the event lasts an entire month. Also you're not the only one struggling, I'm not sure if it's server based but Dalsis/Rayguard/Rocky/Salrath has like under 20 people who've cleared it entirely so far. But again, Lang always has a cap on how high your stats are anyways. The extra 10 attack or so from the rest of your ragnarok isn't the difference between why someone can and can't clear. The largest mistake I would say someone could make in this mode is upgrading the Federation tent to make resets not free. If you don't have a faction buff + the bonus you're going to struggle in the later stages.

Also apparently we're getting some sort of forge event. Lets you select any 1 equipment you want to make and you have to spend stamina to get mats to raise it's enchants. At max it's the similar to the equipment they give you in fair arena, and you can choose between HP/Int/Atk.

Cool got Laws of Creation from SS, finally. Replaced Lana's 3-4 year old Vidar's Rose after getting a very similar enchant and that shot up to in the top 100 on my server.

I need to build Towa since she's been sitting at 6* for months. Do I just throw generic flyer or infantry shit on her or is there something special she needs?

try throne guardian to give her hp if you can spare it
you'll probably want to build a little better for ragnarok realms since that's her biggest contribution in terms of the game right now
Pretty much building her for that one boss that you need to ping with Thor hammer a gazillion times before you can kill it.
If that one fight is the priority, you'd just want to build her enough so she won't die. Her skill should do the rest. Ragnaroks are always preferred, but I think devil's axes would work fine for one extra fixed damage hit, too.
Is Mirror World Madness supposed to be replacing dimensional expedition, or is that grind around the corner?

gof sweeps + aniki sweeps + casting sweeps and you're done in 5 mins
I've found that putting myself into maintenance mode is more effective for long stretches. Sweep, sweep, sweep to get all the essentials done, and then bug out, maybe not even log in for noon burgers.
Keeps the crystals and hero shards coming in and you don't regret any time missed.
honestly, i've been doing this since they announced no more dub. I play for certain events and collabs but otherwise, it's just run dailies and whatnot and log out.
I know we get a lot of supply boxes but I wish we got more, I was using the auto clear dispatch feature so I quickly ran out. Only started doing the solo character clears now that I’ve got no more supply boxes.
Any reason to bother with those?
The rewards from what I've seen aren't worth the hassle + the final Floors aren't a walk in the park like most of the others
Some of the boss stages in the side dungeons can take a while, but at least according to Shizuka’s guide videos some of them only take a few minutes.
Yes if you want more rewards otherwise forget it, the stats check is ridiculous as are the buffs and enemy skills.
Honestly, Mirror world could have been a fun event but as usual Zlong exaggerated the difficulty and above all it is practically oriented towards whales and old players. The entire abyss part could easily have been an event in itself given how it is structured, it seems to have been put there only to consume supplies and especially time.
I feel the same. Completed the entire event and should place in the top 50 (stupid fricking dailies, miss one) so not coming from resentment of not being able to complete it.
Their challenges seem to fall into 3 categories for me.
>you can rush it and it's done in a turn or two
>it's overly complicated, frustrating, or uber statted
>actually fun challenge
I think the one mode that consistently provides that is Endless Voyage.
Last boss is too much of a hassle
He basically one shots my mages with his 8 tiles AoE
I just used the Giga Werner strategy. Finished the map in 10 turns and basically just ended turn each round until everyone killed themselves onto him.
