I don't "complete" games. Here are the last 5 games I've finished, back to back.
Yakuza 0
Yakuza Kiwami
Yakuza Kiwami 2
Sleeping dogs
Alan Wake
I've finished more games since I got my deck in may than I did over the last two years, I love this thing.
>I've finished more games since I got my deck in may than I did over the last two years, I love this thing.
You're a PC guy? I noticed that people who are primarly on PC don't play video games because there are too many distractions but when they get a dedicated gaming machine such as a switch, a deck or even a traditional console they can focus and actually enjoy the games. I remember getting a PS2 on the whim and ended up playing more games on that thing in 3 months than I did on PC in an entire year.
>You're a PC guy
Not exactly, I only got into PC gaming with a proper rig and all around 2016. Prior to that, I played on handheld consoles almost exclusively, not counting my wii. I got a switch when doom 2016 was ported to it, finished witcher 3 on it, too. The deck's a great replacement on most fronts, being able to finish the games I started on my PC over time on a handheld is great. For me, it's mostly about form factor, I like to sit wherever and play for a couple hours at a time, without being tethered to a desk or TV.
I actually have found recently that the Deck makes finishing games easier, but I dont think its because it eliminates distractions as its because it shifts the types of games I default to away from time sinks and limits my library size at any given time.
I can't beat games without playing them in bed anymore. The deck is a blessing. I played Drakengard 1 a whole night and I'm convinced it's because I could stop at any moment and sleep.
I'm playing 9 right now and I can't get into it. About 15 hours in, still not invested in anything happening. It's making me appreciate 4 that much more.
I played most of them quite recently (the last 3 years) and 4 is the snappiest. It's avoiding all the bloat that the following FF are full of. 6 is a tad too long and has almost zero customization to make up for it until the end of the first third. It's 30 hour long game (at least) and I really started to have fun in the second half.
7 is the most balanced of all between gameplay and story (even if it really takes off at the second CD as the first CD keeps is really on tracks)
8 is a failure in lmost every aspects, worth playing to see how it works.
9 has a great game system, but yeah, it's way too focused on story, very slow and if you don't like it 15 hours in, it won't get better.
4 is the most straightforward while 5 has the most customization (hence replay value) and that's why they are my favorites.

And playing Cult of the Lamb currently
It's a decent game which gets frequent updates. Right now would be a pretty good time to pick it up. It's not too long and has great replay value with plenty of unlockables and achievements. There are also three (or rather four) endings in total.
Elden ring got me into souls games so besides short indie titles of the week its been >Jedi: Fallen Order >bloodborne >Dark Souls I (on the switch) >Dark Souls III >Elden Ring
Honestly after putting so much time into Elden Ring the others felt like baby games. Seriously they're too easy. People only think they're ever hard because it's their first time in the franchise or they're being dumb and making it harder for themselves on purpose.
>Honestly after putting so much time into Elden Ring the others felt like baby games
That's interesting, I felt like Elden Ring was a lot easier than Dark Souls III or Bloodborne. Not to say those two are unplayably hard, but I really only struggling with Malenia, Godskin duo, and that fricking tree spirit in the secret tomb by the starting area in Elden Ring. DSIII and Bloodborne walled me far more often.
Maybe I just finally Got Gud.

Not sure what to play next. Tried playing Dead Space but had trouble getting it to work on my PC, between mouse and gamepad issues and running into an invisible wall at the first door. Any game recommendations anons?
I fricked up on my last god run by gathering too many orbs in NG so I had to kill myself via Kolmi. Was pretty funny having a wand that could decimate practically everything (except Kolmi apparently), heal any damage, and have thousands of health, at least.
On my 33orb run I got so fricking powerful that I had to in the end scour the world (after turning everything to gold) for a circle of metamorphosis spell because that was the only way for me to die. I got like 50 extra lives, 80 stainless armour, 7 repelling capes, and every other resistance perk possible 50 times over. Could stand in the middle of 10 omega sawblades and take 0 damage.
I think it was Mega Man Zero 3, Yakuza 7, Mega Man Zero 2, Mega Man Zero and Live a Live, the original release, not the remake. I also played SMTV around that time but I forget if I played it or Live a Live first.
Highfleet
The Nameless Mod
A Legionary's Life (no idea why, it's honestly not that good but I guess I wanted to overcome the RNG)
Max Payne 1
Max Payne 2
Not in exact order, although MP2 I did soon after 1, though I first did a second playthrough of MP1 in the New York minute mode. Weirdly, I had played 2 many years ago but not 1 for some reason, so I always figured it was a really good game... which I suppose it was on its own? But god damn, compare the two games and you just can't beat the original. Other than the shootdodge really needing a separate button from bullet time like in mp2, there's really nothing the second game gets done better.
There's something just so sublime to how you can run all of Max Payne without ever fricking taking damage (or at least barely ever getting hurt), if you're just constantly rolling and moving and using shootdodging as a tool but not something you constantly use. And something about the shooting inaccuracy and crisp movement perfectly captures this satisfying feel in action movies and John Woo films where everyone's firing a shit ton of bullets as quickly as they can at each other while diving around and shit all around in the environment is getting hit. Just feels so much more satisfying when you then dodge a hail of gunfire or use actually accurate weapons or rush up into someone's face without getting hit and blast them in the face with a shotgun from point blank. DODGE THIS!
I also kinda feel like shilling The Nameless Mod, but I'll leave that up to if anyone actually even cares, I figure max payne is popular enough though for someone to have an opinion on this rant/review.
>Shadow Hearts 2
most recently beat this and holy frick i cant remember the last time i played a jrpg with such a good main villain, also crest magic is cool as frick kato never asked for this >Shadow Hearts 1
a bit jank but it was a very solid PS1 style RPG on the PS2 and Zhuzhen is based as frick, also love the judgment ring system both games have >h8machine
funny card game/rts that simulates online arguments, it's a roguelike but i enjoy it and get a good laugh out of it; "beat" it in that i won a run but i still play this >13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim
play this fricking game just do it
source: just trust me bro (unironically) >AI: Somnium Files Nirvana Initiative
New cast is definitely not as fun as Date/Aiba from the first game, but the mystery is solid and does some neat shit. Solid 8/10.
Currently working on Judgment since RGG Games finally figured out whatever the frick was up with that crazy Japanese talent agency. I like Yagami a lot as a protagonist but I'm also a huge sucker for legal/courtroom shit
>Last of Us Part 1 >MH Rise: Sunbreak >Horizon: FW >Ghost of Tsushima: Iki Island >Dark Souls 2: SOFTS
All of these games were very good. If DLCs don't count, replace thise with Jedi: Fallen Order and Deathloop

I think it was Mega Man Zero 3, Yakuza 7, Mega Man Zero 2, Mega Man Zero and Live a Live, the original release, not the remake. I also played SMTV around that time but I forget if I played it or Live a Live first.
Shadow Warrior: Wanton Destruction
Shadow Warrior: Twin Dragon
Exiled Kingdoms
Ghost of Tsushima
Final Fantasy 8
DODGE THIS!
I also kinda feel like shilling The Nameless Mod, but I'll leave that up to if anyone actually even cares, I figure max payne is popular enough though for someone to have an opinion on this rant/review.

a bit jank but it was a very solid PS1 style RPG on the PS2 and Zhuzhen is based as frick, also love the judgment ring system both games have
>h8machine
funny card game/rts that simulates online arguments, it's a roguelike but i enjoy it and get a good laugh out of it; "beat" it in that i won a run but i still play this

>AI: Somnium Files Nirvana Initiative
New cast is definitely not as fun as Date/Aiba from the first game, but the mystery is solid and does some neat shit. Solid 8/10.
Currently working on Judgment since RGG Games finally figured out whatever the frick was up with that crazy Japanese talent agency. I like Yagami a lot as a protagonist but I'm also a huge sucker for legal/courtroom shit
