Don’t see too much discussion on this one. I’ve got about 30 hours in and it’s probably the best TBS game I’ve played in years.
Anyone else playing this?

Shill it to me.
Yeah it's a fun game. My only gripe is that after a while the non-boss levels become too repetitive. I wish the game had a boss rush mode or something like that because the boss levels are easily the best and most interesting ones.
It's basically a turn-based horde survival game. During the day you build up your base and during the night you defend your base from hordes of zombies and other monsters. Your dudes gain experience in an RPG-like way and there are lots of way to build them since every weapon type has an entirely different moveset to build around and there are like 20 types not counting stuff like offhands. Plus you can carry multiple weapon sets for versatility.
The game's story is that countries started using massively powerful spells to get rid of their enemies and it ruined the entire world. Kinda like Fallout except with magic instead of nukes. Now everyone who's still alive is fricked because the world is overrun with endless hordes of zombies and other creatures that got corrupted by magic. Your goal is to build a base to protect your mages, who are trying to cast one final spell to destroy all magic and thus get rid of all the monsters.
Why is it called the last spell? Do you only get to use a single spell?
The 4th map i still haven't beaten. Feels like it was built for a version that got updated and now its absurd
They are bringing out DLC for it aren't they?
I hope so, i want a desert biome
I enjoyed it for a while but it's too much of a timesink when I'm working fulltime
literally every game is a "timesink"
not true, there are degrees to which a game can be satisfying in short intervals - TLS falls on the end of the scale where short bursts of playtime are not enjoyable
at the other end of the scale would be games like Enter The Gungeon or Slay The Spire
30 hours in a game is 30 hours, whether it was in 10 minute or 1 hour chunks
>praises troony games
Ywnbaw
bro they're literally roasted chicken
its pretty nice game
tried demo and didn't really like it but give it second chance after some time with pirated version and really liked it then
Got incredibly addicted when it came out, then I completely lost all interest almost in an instant, dont really know why. Maybe if you figured out what this game is about then there isnt much too it
got fed up with all the gotchas at the end of every map tbh
>gotchas at the end of every map
What do you mean by that? Are you talking about the boss fights?
I won on the first couple maps and stopped because I hated having to rebuild a team from scratch every time. At least xcom lets me keep my units. There isn't enough build variety to make starting over each time worth it. Some weapons are straight up bad because they don't do good enough damage in a game where every battle is a damage check.
Also every single battle being objective defense against a human wave advance limited the tactical variety too much.
i played for 5h and felt like i did everything it could offer, as most indies are like, i'm starting to feel....
I stopped playing this a year ago, the ghost city map filtered me so hard it made drop the game
Was the game updated? Any DLC?
