LAUNCH MOVED TO 15 MAY

>release demo of HW3
>the controls and camera make the game unplayable
>people b***h about it
>they made a patch in 1 day, adding a "classic" camera and controls
>flooded with other compllaints
>decided to move the release 2 month
why is modern gaming like that?

i waited for 5 minutes for the tutorial recon squad to kill 2 drones, they were just flying in circles around each other.

for fricks sake.

    >i waited for 5 minutes for the tutorial recon squad to kill 2 drones
    I had the same thing
I was just sitting there fricking waiting for them to kill the probe that needed 1 more hit
Did they literally even play the demo???

changing the stance doesnt seem to help, either, its the same if its set on aggressive, passive or neutral.
      >i tried to do my old HW trick of using the SPHERE FORMATION
in HW1+2 it would make fighters surround a big ship, and just shoot at it non stop - huge damage in 1 sec.
      >in HW3 they try to do that, surround the enemy ship, shoot once, and then lose formation
      oh come on.

This demo is the same build youtubers got months ago. The delay was planned

It's unbelievable to me it released like that. Like literally no one tested it or played it. You release a demo to get public attention. And the first experience people have is a soulless tutorial where I'd go as far as saying it just demonstrates that the game is broken.
How is this not your most polished first 10 minutes of the game. You're definitely not the only one.

i thought i was doing something wrong, but apparently it was like that for everybody.

This was the most insane part.

Just...watching some ships fly in loops maybe one hitting 10 seconds.

their announcement on twitter is depressing.
      >the testing groups we gave the full version of the game too told us the game is awful and we have to move the release

      >i waited for 5 minutes for the tutorial recon squad to kill 2 drones

2 months might not be enough to fix the game if the ships quite fricking literally cant even shoot at each other.

Yeah, I played through one of the levels with lots of ice terrain too, and the ships were getting stuck on it
One of the objectives had npc ships I needed to escort zoom off faster than my fleet would catch up to them
The strafing is super unsatisfying, it feels like ships take forever to fly away, turn around, and then when they finally fly back, the actual attack is super fast if they get any shots off at all, and it's back to flying away slowly
The flight pathing is totally fricked
The scale is fricked too. It's hard to see really anything that's going on.

Not stuff you can fix and make satisfying in 2 months. Flight pathing is something they needed solved years ago.

thats the main pillar of the game, ships flying and shooting, and they screwed that up.
no way in hell they will fix that in 2 months.

i also hate how much shit is on the maps now.
im in god damn space, but it looks like a map in call of duty (buildings and cover everywhere).

anon the game doesnt work at all, ships are incapable of shooting at each other, and you focus on some meaningless shit like chemtrails having bad anti-aliasing.

That doesn't explain why I should ignore less important stuff. I'm not the developer, I don't have to fix it.

these ships are tiny, can barely see em

man it hurts me, but ill have to remove this from my wishlist, im pretty sure this wont get fixed by may

the game has been in development for 7 years, theres NO REASON for it to have so many fundamental problems

the only games made in the last 15 years that werent like that were DOOM 2016/Eternal and Elden Ring. Everything else was just a sad corporate parody of their original franchises.

I already uninstalled it so I can't double check, but I used the 'classic' controls and here are my notes:
    >In HW2 you could hold Alt and select ship/group of ships to focus your camera on. This doesn't work in HW3.
    >The movement order is comprised of two clicks, the first brings up the x/z-axis circle where you can also adjust the y-axis, and then the second click confirms the order. Now in HW3 there are massive objects which you have to navigate around, asteroids/megastructures you know the stuff, which at times might take up to 100% of the background. Right-clicking anywhere on these objects will forgo the first step and just send the units to the selected point, which is suboptimal to say the least.
    >There's no 'move & attack' order.
    >Carrier, maybe combat units too, will flat out ignore the move order towards the RU asteroids. This wasn't the case in HW2.
    >F4 supposed to select all available combat units, except doesn't work consistently, sometimes you have to hit it like five times. If you have resource collectors selected I think it won't work at all.
    >Spacebar brings up sensors as it should. But if you just ordered to build some units and haven't clicked anywhere after that, hitting spacebar would order to build additional instead of switching to sensors.
The addition of pause and slowdown is moronic in my opinion but whatever, I hope it's disabled on the highest difficulty at least.

they added that in the patch yesterday, but all that other nonsense is still there.

the ships just cant fly for shit, they cant hit anything, and the formations dont work.

i also noticed the voice acting for the ships sounds like the actors were half asleep.

I played the tutorial 3 times to try out the different control combinations and never saw this supposed 5 min drone fight
I did saw this shit happening at the end of HW 1 tutorial since the demo put me in the mood to replay the series

its not just the tutorial drone thing, the entire combat element of HW3 seems to be fricked, especially for small craft, like fighters and bombers.

I didnt experienced any of the vague complaints of everything being fricked that I keep seeing being throw around. And I actually prefer a May release regardless of the reasons For issues I see in the game, I think that

second point is actually valid. I also think the current units active abillities are trash and uncreative. I also have been experiencing crashes that completly lockdown my computer.
