game was doomed from the beginning when they banned almost half the playerbase while the game was still in beta.
why did they ban these people? Well there was a single tile of grass with the wrong encounter data coded, meaning if you stood in one specific spot you could catch a mon that was overpowered because it was supposed to be locked behind an HM equivalent. A blanket ban was issued for anyone who did this and when people pointed out "hey this is a beta, shouldn't you be glad they found this bug for you" they were also banned.

i'm just telling you what happened as someone who was in the beta when the banwave happened, the exploit responsible for the banwave was taking advantage of the bugged tile and the devs response was completely out of proportion. I wasn't even one of the people who got banned and if you don't believe me that's on you because i don't think the temtem devs ever publicly stated the what the exploit was.

Pokémon gameplay isn’t actually that great and it just gets by on branding and cultural inertia. Any Pokélike needs to have a novel twist to the formula to stand out and actually be fun to play. I’m hoping Beastieball succeeds.

False, see any romhack with competent AI and rebalance. Pokemon is a very solid and deep RPG system, too bad no effort is put in. For example, SMT has a much more simple RPG system, and yet their games are much more challenging and interesting than Pokemon ones.

Temtem was entertaining enough to play through the campaign, but I wouldn't bother with any of the multiplayer shit.
