because of eso (elder scrolls but fanfiction, not canon). that game somehow wrote sotha sil as a wise old elf mage despite being autistically obsessed with his clockwork city.

I'm always kind of perplexed by the idea of something being incompatible with modern TES "canon" when the games since Morrowind struggle at consistent writing within one single title.

Daggerfall, Redguard, Morrowind and like 10% of Oblivion are canon. Everything before and after is non-canon. Simple as.

If that were true Cyrodil would have been jungle.
Morrowind is considered soft canon. It is true unless another game has a different take.

He's the mega autist hikiko of the bunch. He knows everything or at least aspires to know everything. I mean he's a truecel who lives in a machine.

Okay but thats just your coda not mine.

I like Dagoth Ur but I swear he's getting more and more overrated with every passing year. People get blinded by his eloquence and conflate it woth the actual Character writing.

He's an outstanding villain. But he's not even the most tragic character in the game.

The wizard that jumps to his death is the most tragic.
Bro just wanted to jump really high. Trusting Dunmer magic to make sense was his downfall.

Sotha Sil's main source of popularity is from ESOtrannies writing gay erotica about him on Tumblr.
ESO isn't canon anyway, his appearance in that game is pretty much fanfiction, so who cares what Tumblr trannies think.

Anyway his depiction in Tribunal was absolutely based for ignoring Almalexia as his one last "frick you" before she kills him. He was a scientist so hyper-fixated on his research that he would not interrupt it to save his own life. That's all his character was, and needed to be.

I don't need your permission to not consider something canon or not.
If the actual games canonize it I will consider it canon.
Until then it isn't but might be someday.

I don’t need the validation from you. The developers said it was canon and they work closely with Bethesda when writing the lore. It’s canon. Get over it.

You’re objectively wrong. It’s canon. No matter how much you cope and say “durrrr it’s non canon in my opinion”, you’ll always be wrong. You’re acting like a child because your shitty fantasy series has a MMO that writes better lore than the past two elder scrolls games, and most definitely will be better written than ES6 Black personfall eiditon

The devs largely came from an MMO designed around Three alliances formed of three factions engaged in a three way war.

Game mechanics trumped game lore. They became allies because they had to to make it work.

Lore always takes a back seat in an MMO

      Chim as in chimney.

according to Kirkbride, from before Morrowind even existed:
      >Chimer (precursor to Dunmer) is KY-mare. Means 'Changed Folk.' Oops! This is a secret..!
there was some internal disagreement among morrowind's designers as to whether chimer meant "changed folk" or "crafty folk" but the pronunciation was never in question.

and apparently most people have been mispronouncing dunmer and bosmer incorrectly since forever, too. they're canonically "doon-mare" and "bo-mare"

75% of it is solid if you're into puzzles. There's some stinkers (the sewers, the city's main quests) but it's impressive what it does without any script extenders.
trainwiz is working on a 3.0 after his game launches that he describes as being a giant overhaul of a bunch of the tedious portions but that's probably a year out.

Or you could just use the console to go to sotha sil
