I just finished my first playhrough ever on Hardcore and god damn, i was scraping for bullets the entire time

I also finished my first playthrough which was on hardcore last night but I was never really scraping for bullets that much. I honestly think Hardcore is way overblown in difficulty. Professional is actually the hard mode in this game. Normal is pathetically easy, the fact people were actually complaining about normal mode being too hard when the base game launched utterly baffles me.
Hardcore was fun the first time I played it but yeah your right. Professional is the only difficulty that is a challenge after you beat the game once. And thats playing professional on New Game not New Game+ with all your weapons upgraded and unlocked.
I did pro new game + in 2:25 got s and found it easy, did new save pro run and got fricked had mega low ammo and did 3 fricking hours so nowhere near s+.
Yeah but I fricked up so the gigante village fight took way too long as had no ammo and had to pick up all the drops and messed up by over writing my save so was right at the start of that fight and had to run back into village to try and pick up scraps and go shop to make it through the fight as I was softlocked multiple times no ammo no knife gignate still alive lol
Yeah that gigante fight came WAY sooner than I expected.
It's like 5 minutes after the Village Black robes, right? Was also ammo starved for that fight until I started shooting his head with pistol, and only used the rifle for the plaga on his back. The rifle is essential I think.
I realize it's impossible to not feel like you're cheating, one way or another. If you sell the deluxe weapons and bonus weapons, that's still a lot of pesetas you wouldn't have had otherwise.
OG RE2 is the only time I liked Ada. Every game after tries to make her out to be this cool spy when, in RE3, ending for Ada, she was a wreck and hated what she did. They even implied Ada wasn't even her real name. I love OG RE4, but that's one of the story changes I didn't like.

He literally isn't. He was burned by the US Government and left for dead after Operation Javier and goes rogue, joining up with Saddler to get power and revenge. He has no affiliation with Wesker at all.
Which isn't that much different from the OG story of getting burned and joining Wesker to get revenge and going along with Saddler's plan as a double agent. The only thing that changes is it makes more sense for him to accept a Plaga implant since he wants power and isn't there to steal a Las Plagas sample for Wesker.

I only watched it the first time I played through it and I'm at play though 6 or 7 on my main save so I'll have to spit ball here, but I remember Ada being a bit surprised when she actually sets up the detonator in the Comms Facility so I'm guessing it's the fact he's handing her the Island Self Destruct button without telling her and that's why he's smirking.
Or how he got the drop on her.
Or how he's going to blow up the island.
Or how he's going to get Ada to blow up the island with Leon on it.
Or how he's just Wesker and he's a smug butthole and a smirk of superiority is the default look on his face.

That I can't quite figure out either. If I had to guess, Saddler had them setup as a contingency plan and Wesker just had Ada hack the detonators. That's why she had to get to the Comms Facility to hack into her their network and take them over.

He wasn't there at all in the original, can't have him doing too much in the story. He still saved Ada and collected something that looks like a blood sample, and was most likely the one that hauled Krauser's heavy corpse to the ship.
That's the problem. With Wesker now being there, there is no reason for him not to go full operator and handle everything himself. Wesker has no problem getting his hands dirty. Just look at CV or Umbrella Chronicles.
In CV nearly all his men got wiped out, and Wesker himself got into a pickle with Alexia, so it's not like he is invincible. There is also the fact that there is currently a government agent prancing around the area, and it's bad for plans if government knows you are up to something no good.

Bolt action for damage. I also used the punisher for the laser sight. Some people hate the shotgun, but I liked it for crowd control.

I still think the TMP is the single best weapon in the game not counting bonus weapons. It made professional a lot easier
