Yoshida has said they're looking into exploratory content but there's no hard confirmation. Bozja was never announced at ShB fanfests so even if we don't hear anything there is still some hope. One positive is that he said that Dawntrail will have a much larger focus on multiplayer activities and that the lifestyle content like Island Sanctuary will be more of a social thing instead of you sitting on your island managing spreadsheets by yourself.

Tanking is the easiest thing to do until you hit mid-to-hardcore raid or enter shit like Eureka where being able to tank won't save you from bosses. Unlike DPS who either just sit back and shit damage or have to constantly go in and out of danger but get their challenge from spamming their weaves, and healers who have to babysit the morons, the tank mostly just stands and then adjusts where to stand to avoid certain attacks while doing basic rotations/damage spitting in DRK's case. If the tank is pulling, hitting their AoEs in dungeons and directing the aggro appropriately, everything else is the rest of the party/alliance being moronic.

HW was an upgrade on ARR, as it should have been. It wasn't as content heavy as SB or ShB, but it shouldn't have been because those expansions came after. EW was a step backward and has no content to keep people engaged.
HW was a fricking disaster at launch once you go past MSQ. Diadem got reworked twice, Gordias and the raids in general were all kinds of fricky, and the community was about ready to torch the devs because of numerous lingering issues. Things like the 2 minute meta are the long-standing consequences of people utterly being pissed off at HW's gameplay (and raiders getting way too much influence but that's beside the point).

This is how I know you got your opinion from youtube, because that is not what almost killed the game. What almost killed the game is that after 3.0 launch Yoshida put the ENTIRE dev team all on a month long vacation all at the same time. So the 3.1 patch was delayed by something like a month and a half or two months. But of course the 3.0 launch had no content aside from the MSQ and the Gordias raid. When 3.1 finally did come out, the only content was original Diadem, a disaster, and Thordan EX, which was too difficult for most of the playerbase at the time (though now it's laughable). It was the delay combined with lack of content that almost killed the game, not the raid difficulty like you morons keep repeating.

Some of it is following youtuber drama, some of it is WoW drama, some of it is people looking to shitpost. I have plenty of grievances like Island Sanctuary being a waste of development to me, but all of these expansions have their deep lows, and EW is relatively fricking stable despite its own.
been playing since stormblood patches and endwalker was the first time i ever felt like there was literally nothing to do. like i want to play, but can't find anything in endwalker, and just end up doing DRS runs instead.
endwalker's content was focused on small group and solo activities that were mostly one and done. the quality and quantity of the content was about the same as shb imo, it was just way less replayable.
I've been playing since 2.4 and it happened to me in ShB and once again in EW. You just get tired of the game eventually. I'll still come back for DT, but I imagine it'll end up the same way for me
im not really tired of the game though, ive just done all the endwalker content (except TOP but my static blew up) and im returning to old content thats more fun and replayable. I still do multiple DRS runs a week and im working on the big fish title.
There's truth to it but ultimately the game is a decade old now. Longtime players are going to be hitting burnout, that doesn't mean quitting outright but their engagement gradually tapers off bit by bit, and many of the newer players have caught up now in an expansion where a lot of the patch content has been one and done stuff so they're also tapering off to play other games.
I think they need to re-evaluate the lifespan of patch content in DT but either way people are going to be hyperbolic about it. They were hyperbolic in the positive end a few years ago and now it's swung negative

Everything with Emet was great, yeah, but a lot of shit was very boring, crystarium was a very ugly hub compared to Kugane and ishgard. The presentation was often really bad, like what they did with the twin jesters was trash, Ranjit was such a miss opportunity, Vauthry felt like a typical moronic antagonist like you'd see in some shonen. All the light warden shit could have been way more interesting but fell flat. Huge lack of lore I think.
I keep saying it but I think FFXIV would benefit tremendously from hiring additional composers. Keep Soken on main themes, dungeon and boss tracks, but hire Hamauzu or Mizuta for more variety for the overworld, towns and stuff.
It's really good for sure, I just think that the base idea was very solid but the writing felt extremely lackluster for everything related to the first specifically, with some decent parts and others very underwhelming.

Now it is. Made stone fist and even wind useable. It was even better during SB and all they had to do was buff the crit chance and chakra raid chance while also having it as a passive in earlier levels. I still HATE the fact that SSS is still in a place that doesn't fit into the overall rotations other than phase ending or postion management. It's still in a better place than when Tornado Kick was first introduced. Another gripe is that I wish moves like elixir field and howling fist weren't full chakra use but were 2 chakra cost for spam. Also the fricking fact that fricking Master's gauge and PB are complete shit in that 1. PB still doesn't let you do a skill continuation for the last skill you used for rotations and 2. your biggest damaging move doesnt exist until another full round of setups with this stupid 2 min buff sync. Absolutely stupid.

we went through roster hell the 1st week with a dps and a healer dropping then again when we were close to clearing. Overall we went over 2k pulls before clearing which is insane. The P3 omega OST is goated though that transition is one of my favorites
I've progged all of them in static but PF reclears aren't that bad. As long as important roles have lots of clears just be consistent. Also in my experience C41 parties have a better clear rate because there's less parsing idiots throwing for 1 more gcd of uptime.
Oh yeah, the only exception is TOP. Reclearing TOP on PF is fricking miserable because it takes 1 single idiot stepping on an exa to wipe you. Every other fight is recoverable in the final phase if you have gamers.

bad breath dots cause each other to get diminishing returns, but will refresh the damage down. so for dots thats not good

I'll take 1, 2, 4, and 5. Being able to stun bosses is a great way to add more user interaction to a fight. Having there be a mandatory stun on the boss would suck because it would limit where you could use it. Of course there's a bit of leniency here depending on how long it takes for the stun resistance to go away.

Sadly, I worry 1 might be asking a bit too much since the only guaranteed stunner/interrupter in the party is the tank. DPS might not have it being magic DPS and I think WHM is the only healer with a stun.
I mean unless we also assume everyone gets a stun/interrupt.

Yoshida has said they're looking into exploratory content but there's no hard confirmation. Bozja was never announced at ShB fanfests so even if we don't hear anything there is still some hope. One positive is that he said that Dawntrail will have a much larger focus on multiplayer activities and that the lifestyle content like Island Sanctuary will be more of a social thing instead of you sitting on your island managing spreadsheets by yourself.
Yoship better not be lying about this. Single player content was my biggest grip especially when we had shit like ishgord restoration that almost felt like the community was involved.

Tanking is the easiest thing to do until you hit mid-to-hardcore raid or enter shit like Eureka where being able to tank won't save you from bosses. Unlike DPS who either just sit back and shit damage or have to constantly go in and out of danger but get their challenge from spamming their weaves, and healers who have to babysit the morons, the tank mostly just stands and then adjusts where to stand to avoid certain attacks while doing basic rotations/damage spitting in DRK's case. If the tank is pulling, hitting their AoEs in dungeons and directing the aggro appropriately, everything else is the rest of the party/alliance being moronic.

HW was an upgrade on ARR, as it should have been. It wasn't as content heavy as SB or ShB, but it shouldn't have been because those expansions came after. EW was a step backward and has no content to keep people engaged.
HW was a fricking disaster at launch once you go past MSQ. Diadem got reworked twice, Gordias and the raids in general were all kinds of fricky, and the community was about ready to torch the devs because of numerous lingering issues. Things like the 2 minute meta are the long-standing consequences of people utterly being pissed off at HW's gameplay (and raiders getting way too much influence but that's beside the point).

This is how I know you got your opinion from youtube, because that is not what almost killed the game. What almost killed the game is that after 3.0 launch Yoshida put the ENTIRE dev team all on a month long vacation all at the same time. So the 3.1 patch was delayed by something like a month and a half or two months. But of course the 3.0 launch had no content aside from the MSQ and the Gordias raid. When 3.1 finally did come out, the only content was original Diadem, a disaster, and Thordan EX, which was too difficult for most of the playerbase at the time (though now it's laughable). It was the delay combined with lack of content that almost killed the game, not the raid difficulty like you morons keep repeating.

Some of it is following youtuber drama, some of it is WoW drama, some of it is people looking to shitpost. I have plenty of grievances like Island Sanctuary being a waste of development to me, but all of these expansions have their deep lows, and EW is relatively fricking stable despite its own.

I've been playing since 2.4 and it happened to me in ShB and once again in EW. You just get tired of the game eventually. I'll still come back for DT, but I imagine it'll end up the same way for me
im not really tired of the game though, ive just done all the endwalker content (except TOP but my static blew up) and im returning to old content thats more fun and replayable. I still do multiple DRS runs a week and im working on the big fish title.
There's truth to it but ultimately the game is a decade old now. Longtime players are going to be hitting burnout, that doesn't mean quitting outright but their engagement gradually tapers off bit by bit, and many of the newer players have caught up now in an expansion where a lot of the patch content has been one and done stuff so they're also tapering off to play other games.
I think they need to re-evaluate the lifespan of patch content in DT but either way people are going to be hyperbolic about it. They were hyperbolic in the positive end a few years ago and now it's swung negative

It was even better during SB and all they had to do was buff the crit chance and chakra raid chance while also having it as a passive in earlier levels. TOP is my favorite but it also is absolutely draining if your entire party isn't top 1%.
we went through roster hell the 1st week with a dps and a healer dropping then again when we were close to clearing. Overall we went over 2k pulls before clearing which is insane. The P3 omega OST is goated though that transition is one of my favorites

I've progged all of them in static but PF reclears aren't that bad. As long as important roles have lots of clears just be consistent. Also in my experience C41 parties have a better clear rate because there's less parsing idiots throwing for 1 more gcd of uptime.
Oh yeah, the only exception is TOP. Reclearing TOP on PF is fricking miserable because it takes 1 single idiot stepping on an exa to wipe you. Every other fight is recoverable in the final phase if you have gamers.

I actually think a neat big attack for a dot mage would be to collapse all the dot damage on the affliction.
The stuff with TOP was massively overstated, what is a problem is in Bozja where you have +3 buffs from the valors alone + a bunch of lost actions making you hit cap.
Even in Shadowbringers, I was losing procs on DNC during my opener because of it.

You're confused with 2 different things, buffs and debuffs.
Buffs were only a problem in TOP and Delubrum because
the instances forced a lot of buffs on the player on top of what they already had. Debuffs were an issue in content like Bozja because you have 50+ people hitting a single target.

I'll take 1, 2, 4, and 5. Being able to stun bosses is a great way to add more user interaction to a fight. Having there be a mandatory stun on the boss would suck because it would limit where you could use it. Of course there's a bit of leniency here depending on how long it takes for the stun resistance to go away.
