There is nothing wrong with right as long as it helped to sell in its respective market.
Releasing the "original" "correct" version would have most likely alienated the bigger audience with the anime-style. Censoring in general is also much better for the company compared to possible controversies and lesser sales.

If you are against any of that, you have no idea how business works and are most likely anti-capitalist. Educate yourself.

either a corporate shill or sa goon forgetting anime was already popular in some places

It may have been popular in some places, but not among adults with children. Right one appeals to them more, and they are the one spending money.
        >corporate shill
Wait, we really have commies on this site? Fricking hell

The reason why it was considered to be released in a separate market was because of the quality and value seen in the original. If you were going to design or create something for the new market you didn't need to use an existing IP.

Japanese names v American names of the same characters

This one will always be absolutely baffling to me. Why did they even attempt to localize it in this way? What was their plan?

It's even worse when the Japanese original has completely normal English names and the localizers change them to other completely normal English names.

In case anyone isn’t aware this is a bait image, right is original and Japan got a localization. No idea why this mediocre Amiga-slop got ported to every platform in existence and even translated for other regions when there are so many better games to pick from.
