It had a huge filesize for it's time and had unskippable cutscenes which served as hidden loading screens. There are plenty of reasons to hate the game
its definitely cool or has that wow factor. but after a while the novelty wears off. i think its a good thing to periodically mix things up to avoid stagnation
More aesthetically pleasing. Max Payne 2 doesn't use:
-Ray tracing or screen space reflections
-Bloom
-Chromatic aberration
-Film grain
-Volumetric lighting
-Ambient occlusion
-Tessellation
-Depth of field
-Motion blur
-DLSS
-Dynamic resolution scaling
-Sharpening filters
-Temporal or Fast Approximate Anti Aliasing
It does:
-Have proper anti-aliasing
-Use ragdoll and doesn't despawn bodies
-Have texture filtering
-Have working mirrors
It looks great, runs on a potato and plays smoothly
all that is baked in the textures in MP2 is more or less dynamically generated on the fly in modern games, so yeah, it works nice for static game but is obsolete for anything with dynamic lighting
How about more living fricking worlds? Frick your textures, your high polygon models and all that shit. Give me a world where ground has actual influences on character movement. Give me detailed character anatomy and gore systems. Decrease the fricking scale and give me actual fun games with interesting ai behaviour.
All of these games are over 10 years old and run properly on video cards using literally less than 5% of the performance an RTX 4090. Stop buying new GPUs.

ackshually even younger me thought the faces could be better, so yes
Yeah I thought this with GTA3 at the time too. People have been picking apart even state of the art graphics since the beginning of gaming.
Yeah and I prefer better gameplay too
>japanse games
>good gameplay
Looks shit
No, graphics are always secondary.
Using technology is a stopgap for your own imagination is not healthy.
It's important for you to use your brain.
Just beat Max Payne 3 last night, probably the best tps I've played
play more TPS
Literally name 4 that are better.
Giants: Citizen Kabuto
Hidden & Dangerous
Shadow Man
MDK
Max Payne 1&2
HL: The Specialists
Holy seethe, Max payne 3 has the best gunplay I've seen. Looks great and has great physics too
You point...and shoot. sooooooo good.
bro just stick to fps.
Yes, and its so good that I never got bored of it for the whole game
Idk what this means
In got bored when I was doing the turret and boat sequence and I was thinking "wow this sure is a joke of a game" and dropped it.
it means it may have great gunplay it's no use if you can't enjoy it properly
shame there's no game within it so we can enjoy this best gunplay
>get multiple diverse third-person shooters
>"holy seethe"
Get a grip. No wonder this board is so relentlessly shit day in, day out.
The 2 weapon limit was dumb though, let's just agree on this. In MP1&2 you feel like a powerhouse mowing down people and it's fun.

gun valkyrie
operation winback (PS2)
gungage
duke nukem time to kill
max paynes gameplay consists of pointing and clicking and when that won't work pressing the instant win button to point and click easier
>duke nukem time to kill
>Winback
I mean, I like the game, but it clearly isn't better than MP3 on a gunplay level.
It's more a tactical game that rewards fast thinking and understanding of 3D spaces. Max Payne is about putting your cursor on a guy.
Resident Evil 4
Resident Evil 5
Total Overdose
Vanquish
Gungrave 1
10.000 Bullets
>Total Overdose
My homie
Vanquish
Resident Evil 4
Resident Evil REmake 2
Splatoon 1-3
Dead Space 1&2
Bullet Witch
Metal Wolf Chaos
P.N.03
Shadow The Hedgehog
play more tps
Rockstar took fast and responsive gameplay and made it sluggish.
photographic textures are the best aesthetic change my mind

No I don't actually.
Define "better."

That era was peak graphics. The later era of HD graphics are over processed.
Real problems are not in the graphics quality. It is because color palettes, artstyle and lack of creativity.
yes
graphics haven't been all that impressive for 15 years
Max Payne 2 looks soulless compared to 1.

Frick your graphics.
No can do, need to spend the whole budget on mo-capping b-list celebrities instead
Graphic wise, it’s fine.
However, there could be more detail such as better textures, better lighting, more props to make the place look more alive/lived in.
i don't know about graphics but that looks way too bland to peak any interest for me to play
yeah and better gameplay
I'm find with playing Duke Nukem 3D thank you very much.
Remedy games are incredibly boring and repetitive

Frick off boomer I want to play Witcher 3 and new RE games.
>played less than 20 of those
I should probably buy or pirate more old games
fewer
But then there would be almost zero new games for me to play
>God Of War 3
>You need graphics which look better than this?
The MaxFX engine isn't properly supported on modern systems (yes I know what PC Gaming Wiki is) so a a remake is welcome.
I've never had any issues running it on Windows 10. Even widescreen is supported which lets you see more of Mona in the shower than budgeted for.
Graphics no but i want more physics simulation. Teardown was a step in the right direction.
yes, the benches and table don't even have shadows, zero reflections on the metal parts, everything in the scene looks like it's made of cardboard
MONA?
