It's become obvious that Game Freak is no longer interested in making "remakes" and will have their hands full going forward with console development for mainline games AND more spinoff type games like Let's Go and Legends.
Platinum and B2W2 are better games anyway. Pray Nintendo doesn't sully their reputations as well.
