>bruh how can economics be so crazy
I know you’re probably a little child but do some studying and you’ll find back in the day some guy made millions by selling people literal rocks.
My excuse is that I don’t want to make games. My retort is that popularity does not equate to longevity or quality. Give it 3-5 years and it will be played as often as Despacito.
>What's your excuse?
I don't want to make FOTM coop garbage that forces your entire friend group to buy it because some streamer streamed it with their other streamer friends
Simple as
>What's your excuse?
I can't draw, model, code, compose or write and would need to learn everything from scratch which would probably take me multiple decades just to get to a decent level. By the time i finally get started on my game the market will be flooded by AI-created games anyway.
You are an indie dev. Before you lies three paths >Quickly whip up a stupid game that mainly relies on comedy factor (and is multiplayer) and rake in millions overnight >Create shitty 3d porn game over the course of two decades and rake in half a million a year >Spend a decade slaving away at your masterpiece (which only two people will play unless the Steam market's algorithm blesses you and a youtuber plays your game)
Normies love to play multiplayer fotm slop with their friends, especially if it is cheap. Singleplayer markets are much harder to tap into because sp players are more resistant to trying new games/genres. >t. friends are fotm game collectors who play an hour and drop
I just don't understand why this game got so popular
You've literally seen everything it has to offer after your first mission, and most of that are just shitty free assets from the Unity market. Amogus at its core at least was a decent and proven to work game
>I just don't understand why this game got so popular
Heavy push from influencers combined with cheap accessibility, low committment, and a strong emphasis on frickery with friends. I'd imagine most of the entertainment value for the common player is akin to showing your friends a screamer video.
How the FRICK do i stop my headphones from echoing my friends?
When they speak, they hear themselves through my microphone, even if i lower my volume to like 5%. It happens in other games as well, but it's especially noticable in this, and idk how to fix it without buying a new headset.
Razer Tiamat 7.1 V1. Yes it's old. It works well still though
>turn mic off outside and inside of game >it's for sure the only mic >have push to talk on as well >wearing earphones >friends STILL fricking hear themselves echo through mine through all of that somehow
The game is just cursed.
>Forgotten
Lol not yet >Modding community >Still have room to grow and add more maps and entities >Actually scary
Probably one of the only games in recent that answers the "how do we fix horror games?" question Ganker keeps asking
Not to be mean, but the game is not exactly filled with a "huge" amount of content.
>8 moons, always the same layout outside >Only two different kind of mazes, industrial and manor >Around 15 creatures >Only five items are really useful, the others are too costy so not bought
I had TONS of fun with my friends for two weeks, I played around 40 hours. However, past the funny moments, once you realize that except Coil-head, Jesters and Giants, monsters are not really a problem, and you just lose because the quota ends up so fricking big without the timer increasing so you don't have enough time to find enough items to pass the 3000 quota, it ends up boring.
I didn't play the update, since my friends stopped playing, maybe it was fixed?
Worse is when you get a mine under the entrance. Turret is just a case of running out of the room but I've had mines right under the entrance multiple times.
>friend wants to play this >looks terrible, tell him no >he buys it and then gifts me a copy >obligated to play with him now >fire it up, going in blind >surprisingly it turns out that actually, despite my expectations, the game is somehow even worse than I imagined >actually manages to be negative fun, the fun I had earlier in the night on other games is sucked out of me
The ease of modding the game works wonders to contribute to its longevity. >Want to play with a frickload of people? More Company keys you goof off with as many people as you like. Throw bodies into the meatgrinder! It doesn't get easier! >Think the game should have mimics? There's a mod that adds fire escape mimics, and one that records samples of player voices, which the monsters will play to distract people
It's like Stardew Valley in there's a super solid base game that attracts people, which can then be modded any which way you like.
>and one that records samples of player voices, which the monsters will play to distract people
I dream of the day we will have a game that records player voices until they have enough data to generate AI voices of the players so we can finally have an effective voice mimic.
I had hoped this game would grow more gameplay depth in time. It saddens me that receiving FOTM so early in its development will pretty much solidify it as nothing more than a zaney "LOL I DIED!!" simulator.
>le why is le thing le forgotten maymay
>10$ for 30 hours of absolute shitfest
money well spent
Thinking about it, i contributed 10 euros to the wealth of a furgay. I'm kinda pissed about it.
>Networth: $5.7 million in 30 days
Dude made nearly 6 MILLION dollars...in less than a month...making a game in unity...bruh
>BRRUHHH
publishers certainly didnt forget, expect many shitty clones in 2 years
He made more money than everyone on Ganker would ever have combined.
>bruh how can economics be so crazy
I know you’re probably a little child but do some studying and you’ll find back in the day some guy made millions by selling people literal rocks.
Zoomer moment.
You sound and act like a moronic zoomer that only play fortnite and jerks off to dva sfm porn
This fricking furry has made one of the most popular games this year single-handedly.
What's your excuse?
My game is slated for release next year. It will probably be shit but I need to see it through.
I’m moronic and can’t code to save my life
Wow I actually didn't realize the amount of players because my friends already quit
My excuse is that I don’t want to make games. My retort is that popularity does not equate to longevity or quality. Give it 3-5 years and it will be played as often as Despacito.
>What's your excuse?
wanting to make something really ambitious despite clear evidence that no one gives a frick about effort, or ambition at all.
No one gives a shit about ambition from people with no prior results because it always ends up badly you stupid Black person
I have to finish my backlog first.
I have none other than I'm still learning how to game dev
I'm lazy as frick
I'm trying to combat that and literally force myself to learn, but it's an uphill battle that will take quite a while.
I don't want the IRS on my ass
>What's your excuse?
I don't want to make FOTM coop garbage that forces your entire friend group to buy it because some streamer streamed it with their other streamer friends
Simple as
If it made you millions of dollars you absolutely would you seething moron
do you even know what FOTM means? look at the release date and look at the date today, we're way past the FOTM stage
>way past
Its only passed about 2 months worth of time.
There's a bunch of people trying and failing, for ever smash hit like this there's ten thousand failures
>What's your excuse?
I can't draw, model, code, compose or write and would need to learn everything from scratch which would probably take me multiple decades just to get to a decent level. By the time i finally get started on my game the market will be flooded by AI-created games anyway.

>t. friends are fotm game collectors who play an hour and drop
Yeah sure they are, which is why snoyslop sells so much.
You could always gift your game to a youtuber or something
if earning gorillions from making vidya is so easy why don't you try doing it?
>says they'll be a patch in a week
>takes 3 weeks
>makes the game worse
not surprising that everyone quit
he cute
I just don't understand why this game got so popular
You've literally seen everything it has to offer after your first mission, and most of that are just shitty free assets from the Unity market. Amogus at its core at least was a decent and proven to work game

no.
>literally
moron
>I don’t understand why this got so popular
Decipher why Citizen Burger Disorder got popular many years ago and we’ll be on the right track
>I just don't understand why this game got so popular
Heavy push from influencers combined with cheap accessibility, low committment, and a strong emphasis on frickery with friends. I'd imagine most of the entertainment value for the common player is akin to showing your friends a screamer video.
There are a lot of other things you obviously don't understand in life, and that's okay Billy.
>it's fun with friends
....
Ever since phasma took off, it has been "fun with friends, terrible place to make them". Remove the social glue and its just a shit basic game.
>123k concurrent = forgotten
moron
>dude the dev jerks off to furries!
>be mad already!
I don't give a shit, game is fun (with friends)
OP is just mad he has no friends to enjoy the game with
How the FRICK do i stop my headphones from echoing my friends?

Use noise cancellation software? I don't know man, just fricking google and don't be an incompetent, computer illiterate.

i bet he gets fricked in the ass and sucks wiener while developing his game

not really unless you try to find the mod to fix it.
also the turret rng in exit room is annoying as frick, there is no way to counter it
Worse is when you get a mine under the entrance. Turret is just a case of running out of the room but I've had mines right under the entrance multiple times.
>Modding community
90% of the mods are QoL balances or cosmetics.
>forgotten
holy cope
>friend wants to play this

miserable homosexual
