It's funny how America is easily the most racist place on the planet and hate black people, yet they fully emulate their fashion, culture and lingo. All of those words were used by black people literally 10+ year ago and now suddenly every white kid is saying them.

Most of the western world (or countries heavily influenced/controlled by it like South Korea) operate in this way. Asian people hate blacks as well, yet their pop music almost entirely emulates American pop/rap, which of course is largely black influenced.
However, to credit everything en vogue to blacks alone is probably too narrow of a view on its history, and instead we should be looking at ~~*Who*~~ controls and funds the black music and fashion industries, and then try to connect them to the other countries as well for a common root.

        Anonymous

        >America
        >hate black people
        You're dumb as frick.
Black folk are America’s gods. Americans fear Black folk like a mortal would fear God. They’re not allowed to curse or speak ill of Black folk, like how you mustn’t blaspheme God or take His name in vain. They devote entire institutions in academia and media to remind themselves of their sins against Black folk and beg for mercy, like you’d beg God for forgiveness for your sins. The only landmarks and monuments they’re allowed to revere are parks, schools and statues dedicated to famous Black folk, immortalized in marble like gods. While their ancestors expressed devotion to gods through offerings of food and drink, present-day Americans created food stamps for Black folk for this very purpose. Jesus gets two annual days of reverence, while Black folk get an entire month plus MLK’s birthday. Americans prostrate themselves in the streets to appease Black folk. This is because Black person worship is the official religion of America.

Young people are rebellious and want to be a part of anything that isn’t what’s deemed “safe.” The vulgarity and (im)maturity of African American culture appeals to them because of that, especially when they want to larp about how hard/tough they are. Fact is young people are just really fricking stupid and you’ll notice how they don’t tend to actually emulate black culture because they know how horrid it is deep down. They also make attempts to ape various Asian cultures (particularly Japanese) for identity as well.

everybody is such a irony poisoned fricking moron now that people feel like they have to state when they're being serious

        Anonymous

There was a point irony was used as a way to go against the grain and challenge the establishment. Then the establishment figured out how to use irony and now everything is ironic and has to undercut itself. Nothing can be honest or serious at all as a result of this and people feel a need to state when they're no longer hiding themselves. David Foster Wallace recognized this nearly 30 years ago.

Soulslikes are their own divergent genre now. You might have been able to call Demon's Souls and Dark Souls action adventure, but they've since spawned their own genre of imitators. The hallmarks of a Soulslike are:
        >RPG character building
        >a labyrinthine world with checkpoints and unlockable shortcuts, inspired by Metroidvanias
        >third person action combat and adventuring inspired by Zelda
        >high level of difficulty, at least comparative to the average modern game
