so this is the power of Linux gaming
        impressive
I will buy Steam Deck 2 or maybe some Deck competitor that runs SteamOS but is not made by Valve
also I wonder when will they realise that it's better to go with a powerful ARM CPU and emulate x86 than it is to cram the power hungry x86 into a small form factor. And then once they have x86 emulation figured out on ARM (Box86/Box64 or some other way), then moving to RISC-V will not be that hard, as they are both RISC. Much smaller jump than the x86 to ARM will be.

even better, updog, ligma and ICUP at the same time

Wouldn't that be emulation on top of emulation?
Would it really be more efficient?

I found out the built-in screen of the Steam Deck also works while doing this as well so technically 3 monitors simultaneously. Touch screen continues working as well.

Any game made within the last 10 years. Some people want to play vidya at something higher than 720p medium.

Such as? I play plenty of games made in the last 10 years and some of them barely even need a dedicated gpu, let alone a gayming rig

Yes, 2D indie shit will play just fine. But even a 10 year old game like Automata will run like shit if you try to max it out, even at 720p.

It wildly varies from game to game and settings. I was playing Sniper Elite 4 and that game ran at 12W after a few tweaks. Felt really good.

I played DMC 5 on high setting at a constant 60fps. It will vary depending the game. Nier games are notorious for having shit ports (tho replicant ran "well enough")

Lots of PC games are unoiptimized trash though. This isn't as big of an issue when you have a decent gaming PC, but it is going to be a problem for the deck.
I can understand how some people wanna bring the deck with them to play vidya on lunch or between classes or some shit, but I don't see why you'd dock it to use as a desktop PC unless it's literally your only gaming computer.
If that's the case then fair enough I guess, but I already have a gaming PC so I don't see why I'd want to dock.

That's a console game anon. Surely you didn't buy a gaming PC to play console games?

                Il-2 Sturmovik

                Graviteam Tactics

                Outer Wilds
                Death Stranding

Il-2 Sturmovik and Graviteam Tactics work on my 7 year old laptop, and the rest is again console games.

VR is as big of a jump as 3D was compared to 2D.
The only reason it's not more popular yet is because you need a beefy pc for it and normies think VR headsets are like 3D glasses

VR won't take off until shit like the Quest can run games like Alyx.

VR is pretty good for space sims, flight sims or racing sims. Which is something only 0.1% of people with powerful hardware actually play, instead they use their PCs as glorified PS4/5s

I have a laptop with integrated graphics but a pretty good CPU, so I don't really have any real need to replace it for anything other than gaming, so the deck is actually perfect for me. If I want to play anything more graphically intensive I've got a series X anyway

Most games don't cloud sync device-specific settings, but there are some that do because the developer is moronic.

The only settings type issue I’ve encountered is playing The Witcher 3. I would downgrade the visuals and run it at 40hz on SD and I’d have to fix the graphics and resolution whenever I got back on my desktop. Minor inconvenience.

If a game has good steam cloud support it works pretty great. Really the only issue I've run into is Isaac Mod Character progress, since that's not a synchronized file
