I want to say something, I know none of you will care since you PC gays never actually play the games you emulate, but Wind Waker HD running at 4K is a site to behold.
You're not doing nothing, you're sailing, feeling the wind and changing its direction based on where you wanna go. The swift sail removes all that in favor of getting you from point A to point B much faster with nothing in between. It makes the world feel a lot smaller.
I've played enough of the original to know the sailing is a massive waste of time. At least in BotW there's shit to do and look at other than water with a few random encounters.
The sailing isn't a waste of time, changing the wind direction with a fricking song every time is a waste a time. Literally what in the frick were they thinking?
They wanted it to be a hassle to change the direction so you'd consider traveling at a slower speed occasionally depending what takes the least amount of time. You're rewarded if you think ahead and change to a direction that maximizes your total sailing time.
Maybe if all you did was sail to islands, but they put in small random shit you're supposed to find like the fish you need to feed to draw in the chart. I never bothered feeding them in the original because it's annoying with the wind.

Because BotW is big and empty just like WW, but it actaully does it better. WW is just empty and boring. The sailing gets old fast.
