cool looking prehistoric bug
It’s cool in a vacuum. The problem is that it really doesn’t feel like a Yanma evo, conceptually or visually, but I guess that is a positive for a lot of people. It’s not like Yanma was ever popular.
The black spikes are an extension of the red spikes that already were on Yanma’s head?
The fangs, pointed tail (if I remember my insects well enough I believe those are called cerci), stabilizers, segmented body, etc. - it’s all carried through.
And conceptually I do think it works. You take a regular, modern dragonfly, and turn it into one of the ancient ones that we know were a thing, that we’re much bigger but still crazy aerial predators like their modern descendants are. And cause it evolves with ancientpower, that link is still there even in the evolution method. I think it’s a really good design tbh.
My thoughts exactly. OP is a gayget for hating on my cool bug bro. Even Jessie had one and she's bad as frick
>Let's make Pikachu, but rounder so it's easier for the anime's animators to draw, and blue!
Post-Gen 1 Pokemon were a mistake
Looks nothing like Pikachu, you only associate it with Pikachu because of late 90s misinformation. Pikablu never existed.
It's literally a rounder blue fatchu with a skinnier tail that has a ball attached to it, and the cheeks were turned into big ears.
>it's the same thing, they just changed everything about it
your a dumbass you could have posted pichu
with the caption
>lets make a weak pokemon weaker
"baby mons were a mistake"
but no you did something that made no sense
(baby mons were a mistake most of them do not need to exist only riolu , munchlax, togepi and tyrogue should exist (also mime jr because he cute) )
I liked yanma's cute eyes, I hate it when bug pokemon's first stages have cute eyes and then the evo has soulless eyes. Too many lines do this.
>generic cutesy eyes
soulless
>eyes that actually look like a bug
soul
If I wanted realistic bugs I’d just go outside
Yanmega not having a mega form is the real scam
stop pretending to be me, faker
Faker? I think you're the fake around here. You're comparing yourself to me? Ha. You're not even good enough to be my fake.
Out of all the cross-gen 4 pokemon evolution to shit on, you pick out THIS one?
Same. I don't know how people would complain about Yanmega when evolutions like Ambipom and Lililicky exist.
>Ambipom
Complaining about one isn’t defense of the other. Ambipom is still one of the worst things shit out in this series.
maybe because it’s ugly
I've always felt it's TOO different from Yanma.
Dumb discorde
>make the spikes pointy like yanma
>Fix the teeth like yanma
>Remove the gross spots
It's fixed
>Cross generation evolutions were a mistake
nu/vp/ zoomers are beyond cancer.
What am I looking at?
Everyone hated Yanma for how babyish it looked. Yanmega looked like a proper monster instead of some moeblob bug you’d find in a backyard.
Yanmega is really cute, here's a tutorial on how to draw it.
DP came out in 2006 and yet this is probably the first time I've ever seen Yanmega hate.
It isn’t hate from my end; it’s more disappointment. Yanmega is fine without the context of it tearing apart a lot of what makes Yanma look like Yanma. Yanmega would be a cool split evolution or spinoff of Yanma. I just don’t think it makes much sense as the primary / only evolution of Yanma.
Isn't it what Yanma used to look like before it "devolved" over time?
That’s the concept, yeah. But in execution, it feels like an entirely different line based on a dragonfly.
They’re both dragonflies, sure. But the “feel” of the design is very different between the two, and I don’t think that’s a great thing when you’ve had seven years to grow accustomed/ attached to the original pokemon. Compare it to something modern like Annihilape (or even Dudunsparce) where the spirit of the line is better maintained.
Outside of 3 cases, recent cross-gen evolutions don't even feel like an evolved form
>dragonfly becomes extinct dragonfly
It's not like it's turning into a weevil
All Gen 4 evos get shit on all the time
As a group sure, but this is the first time I've seen somebody shit on Yanmega specifically.
Yanmega is neat it's just very disappointing in game moveset wise which doesn't help with its stats. Just in a casual playthrough it can struggle which you don't want to see from your prehistoric bug
It's got a cool army-helicopter look that's just subtle enough to look natural while present enough to be noticeable. I like it.
>let's just leave a worthless 1 stage shitmon
Frick you.
So many gen 2 Pokémon needed it badly
If Game Freak weren’t incompetent, they would have scraped the worthless babies and put that energy into evolving the Gen 2 single stages
>the worthless babies
honestly Baby Pokémon could have worked well for single stage Pokémon that are quite powerful on their own right
e.g. Magby could appear in the wild at an early stage, instead of only being able to get them at a later stage
But the way they've implemented it is that you get the stronger Pokémon before being able to get the weaker Pokémon which is ludicrous
That’s the thing. Babypokemon could have been interested but like most things Game Freak royally fricked up the execution. Why do we need to put in extra work to get a weaker Pokémon? Why did Jigglypuff and cleffa need babies?
Except Game Freak don’t do that in GS, and the odd egg in Crystal is a RNG bandage solution. And even future games only rarely had babymons early enough to benefit. I know Gen 4 got it right with Budew and Gen 5 got it right with Magby and Elekid most of the time the it isn’t worth it
Babies are good for this
reason
Honestly it's actually appropriate for Johto, a lot of evolutions that gen just had nothing to do with the Pokemon they'd spawn from.
The big difference here is time. Imagine Raichu dropping seven years after Gen 1.
Get over it.
What an argument. You’re the one simping for a mon that I never called bad. Imagine getting butthurt over a comment as simple as “I don’t really like the direction they took this design.”
Anon, get over it.
>calling you out for double standards is simping for a mon
Lmao, OP is a homosexual.
>bigger fat Pikachu
That seems entirely on brand.
Pic not related except maybe Sentret and Furret?
I usually just lurk but I need to tell you how much of an absolutely shit take that is.
Holy shit I knew OP was a homosexual but still...
have a nice day contrarian
Nah, cross generation evolutions are one of the coolest parts of gen 4, it made a ton of Pokémon much more usable
Also, most of the designs range from good to awesome. Ambipom and Magmortar were the only questionable ones
i would sic frogs on that creature
looks cool tho
Imagine being this much of a contrarian homosexual with shit taste.
>he doesn't like yanmega
Unironically you're a massive homosexual.
