It is fricking self explanatory, if you're a girl you usually have long hair so you usually would have an extra hair tie.
They could have added more customization for Pokemon so you could have your Jigglypuff's hair grow long, and use your ponytail holder to tie Jigglypuff's hair up in a ponytail therefore not needing to catch a paradox mon to have Jigglypuff but with a ponytail.
Do you not play as a girl? If you play as a girl your hair is probably long and you would have to have extra hair supplies. You can spare one ponyholder for a Jigglypuff to get "Jigglypuff with a ponytail" without Game Freak having to code it in as a "separate/new Pokemon"

Couldn't they have just used some of the Pokestar Studio designs? MT was better than Iron Thorns, it would've saved up time instead of just giving Tryanitar a futuristic redesign for something else and would've tied into the whole paradox/future whatever nonsense was going.
