Lets talk about consoles that aged poorly.
I think the amiga is a great example, it has maybe 2 or 3 games that hold up and are still worth playing. Pretty much everything else on there is junk.
What other consoles have aged as poorly as the amiga? Or commodore consoles in general for that matter.

Amiga is a personal computer, not a console.
It can do other stuff besides running games, and it did them before Microsoft and Apple took over the market.
Not your OP pic, though, more like 500. 1200 was their swan song when it was already too late
are you stoopid?
This is not a good thread OP. As others have pointed out it’s not a console and the whole thing you’ve tried is kind of dumb.
Let’s not talk about this.
Dumbest thread I have seen on this board in a while. I can't speak for Europe, where this American computer was ironically much more popular, but here in the US nobody was buying Amigas for the games. I grew up with them (two 500s and a 4000) because my dad was a freelance videographer. No other personal computer on the market at the time could even come close to what it could do especially when paired with the Video Toaster. We had some games for them but that was far from their intended use.
>but here in the US nobody was buying Amigas for the games
Of course not, the amiga gaming market was almost entirety European
Sounds like you got beat up by commodore chads at the playground OP, also sounds like you deserve to have it happen again
>consoles that aged poorly
>the Amiga
That's a computer. Let's talk about a real console that aged poorly, pic related.
>2.68 mhz, which is 3 TIMES slower than ALL it's competitors, including the 5 years older Amiga
>lower resolution than ALL it's competitors
>games library consists entirely of throwaway Nintendo shovelware, RPG Maker shit primarily from Squaresoft before they hit their prime on the PlayStation, and underwhelming versions of games where far better alternatives exist on the many better hardwares of the era
The only people who still like this piece of garbage are those who were unfortunate enough to have grown up without anything better.
I grew up with both snes and sega and you're insane if you think its just filled with shovelware.
>It doesn't have shovelware!! It has MARIO!! and ZELDA!! and DONKEY KONG!!
It never fails.
if snes games are all shovelware then what does the amiga have?
you never say whats actually fun to play on the thing
- That piece of shit Turrican on the Amiga. One of the few games where your character has no reaction to getting hit, their health just drains while enemy sprites overlap them.
- Some janky piece of shit that was ported to the Sega Genesis by EA. It's slightly less bad on Amiga, so Britbongs elevate it to a "classic" (see: Sword of Sodan)
- A game where you have to pick music or sound effects
>One of the few games where your character has no reaction to getting hit, their health just drains while enemy sprites overlap them
Mmm good old YS bump combat health
>complaining about shovelware while shilling a computer
the pc market was and still is shovelware city
there isnt a single amiga game (or any pc game from that era) thats better than donkey kong country 2
Why is it that Nintendies always brag about some mediocre game, then act like it was unbeatable. It's basically compareable in quality to Captain Cosmo or Zool.
>Zool
that was ported to every console as well and its not a good game on any of them
>and its not a good game
Neither is Donkey Kong, is the point.
what ARE some good games then?
civilisation
thats a pc game
>being a specs gay on a retro gaming board
What’s the point? If you care about specs then you should be posting on Ganker. TG16 has the worst specs out of any gen iv console and it’s entire library blows the SNES/Genesis out of the water, and obliterates the PC trash games on muh amiigger and DOS
Literally just worse versions of SNES/Genesis games and the odd license of some shitty anime like City Hunter.
Cope harder amigger tard
>What’s the point?
Let me spell it out for you:
>2.68 mhz
This means games cannot be fast or have a decent amount of action without nauseating slowdowns totally crippling the experience, which directly negatively impacts the gameplay experience.
>lower resolution
This means that games must have a 25% smaller field of view on the SNES, which means more things hitting you from off screen, or even slower movement speeds, directly negatively impacting the gameplay experience.
>TG16 has the worst specs out of any gen iv console
This is incorrect, the PC Engine CPU is, you guessed it, 3 times faster than the SNES, with the same amount of registers and the same data bus width (8-bit), the PC Engine has a massive performance advantage against the 3 years newer, far more expensive SNES.
>it’s entire library blows the SNES out of the water
We can agree on this part though.
>video games board
>it doesnt matter that it didnt have good games
Tell us what Amiga games you've played and we can recommend you some. It sounds like you have tried a lot of different games but were disappointed with them, but maybe we can recommend you some good ones.
>was once number 2 in japan
>now its only known as the rondo of blood machine
There are a bunch of good pc engine and pc engine cd games, they were just never released in english
It had a better and more varied JRPG library than the SNES.
shitty troll thread op
The 2600 was bad when i played it when i was 10 and its still bad now.
There's a pretty good Zelda game on this bad boy.
I unironically want to try both of these but have no way of emulating them yet (Chrome user). PC-FX has a few good games like Zeroigar and Zenki FX, and CD-i has CD-i Tetris, Hotel Mario, and the Link/Zelda titles, plus some cozy Christmas-themed games I want to try
Anybody wanna play some naked anime catgirl games together ?
Should have had 3D rendering hardware installed.
>Amiga
>console
The Amiga, ST, C64, MSX and all the other "micros" are effectively videogame consoles wearing the disguise of a computer. Adults purchased real computers (apple or IBM compatible) while children and subhumans played with their little toys.
C64 was an 8-bit system and isn't a fair comparison. ST and Amiga absolutely found a place in production environments.
>hot zoomie take
lol. Keep that shit on facebook kiddo.
i think its pretty cool that your high school's computer lab hasnt blocked Ganker yet
yeah what about it
>Lets talk about consoles that aged poorly.
>aged
have a nice day subhuman
Some games or consoles ageing poorly is a widely excepted concept that most people can agree on
I'd much rather have auster than whoever this know-nothing moron is.
