I was about 9 or 10 years old when I first played this game on my brother's account. The ocean in EQ genuinely scared the shit out of me, and I was always worried about falling off the boat randomly.
I never played EQ but as a teen with too much time on their hands I thought the concept of having to actually ride the boat was amazing, in WoW I loved the deep run tram and flight paths because it made the world feel more real. As an adult I can't imagine dealing with that stuff but shouts out to them for going all the way with it.
This game made me fail a lot of high school classes
Up all night camping rares. I think I spent two weeks straight just sitting trying to get Iskar Berserker Club in FoB shortly after Kunark released.
Adolescent me got a super chub at the way that Firiona Vie looks like she is almost spilling out of her top in this picture. EQ set me on the lawful good path of natural breasts.
every race had fantastically charming designs for both sexes except no one was gonnna be a bearded dwarf female until the irony barrier of the distant future was breached.
i like it (never played it back in the day) but aside from the inherent charm of the visuals, music, art, and zones a lot of the soul has been lost due to the intense minmaxing raid culture that classic cultivated. I know it's not the entirety of the playerbase, or the game for that matter, but on p1999 it was really bad and now on project quarm it's starting to get there now that people are finally hitting "endgame". It's one of the few genres that has been eviscerated by the passage of time and accumulation of knowledge.
don't play on project quarm don't listen to the shills the main dev is mentally ill and a troony (what a coincidence!) i know that trannies love to code for some reason but this guy hasn't fixed the third person mouselook since release date and i think he is about to pull the plug in any second. just stick to p99

Frick Quynos. All my homies live in blackburrow.
I'm playing P99 right now. What's to talk about? It's a good game even 25 years later.

My first ERP game
how was the ERP in 99?
too often you'd find you were ERPing with men, so the same as today really
Next died before release, and nothing of value was lost.
More like Everquest Previous.
blizzard and its consequences have done irreparable damage to fantasy art
Seriously, that Orc is straight out of Warcraft, armour and all.
>removed the erudite
>removed the best race
why? eq1 erudites are so cool..
every race had fantastically charming designs for both sexes except no one was gonnna be a bearded dwarf female until the irony barrier of the distant future was breached.
>removed the big brain black dude
BAKA white peopel
Realistic fantasy desperately needs to return.
>Realistic
Not the word I would use. Realistic design is the boring garbage you can see in ESO or New World.

I watched my dad play, but he wouldn't let me make a file.
i've never played EQ, the only thing I ever played from this IP was champions of norrath/return to arm on the ps2
