FF7 is because Square got some executive infamous for replacing voice actors with D-list screen actors. But for the most part it's to save money. While it's easier to have the old casts come in and do a day or two for a fighting game or whatever, what a lot of people don't realize is that an entire cast reprising their roles has bargaining power to ask for a raise and when the opportunity arises to recast them say in a remake of the original game the American side will often take it to save money and because normies have proven time and time again they do not care. Not to mention that some of the casts of these games have gotten too big for anime game rates and they figure if they're losing 2-3 people they may as well just start fresh.
I mean to be completely fair these remakes are being made over a decade since their release. I doubt most of those people can even do the same voice anymore.
In the case of P3 why not just put the original voice dialogue over the remake?

Nta but I just looked into the case recently and Vic has been denied appeal several times now and is going to have to pay damages to the "victims". It doesn't sit right with me personally. Ignoring the fact I don't trust woman I don't see why Vic would fight so hard against this if he was actually guilty. You would think he would just silently pay his dues then move on. She wasnt in the credits, thought she did not want to be included because she was ashamed of her performance. Glad she is still around, probably got better but I never played FEF so I would not know. I gotta be honest, I like that they are recasting everyone. P3 does not have very good voice acting

It has all to do with the femc. Her route is way more interesting after you play the original. I don't care about the fact you can't go around in the mall, it wasn't that interesting, i would lament that if it happened to p4 but generally everything in p3 was drab and boring. Controllable party members except some mitsuru moronic moments i never had too much of a problem in p3.
You need to play the original but after that everything about p3p improved the experience for me.

the only problem with the remake so far is that it's way too fricking bright, p3 is a very melancholic looking game with it's colors.
They're also making Tartarus not moronic, and you don't need to play a visual novel for this feature. Plus making Yukari less hate-able is a good bonus. Maybe they'll even make Strega more than just an inconsequential and wasted concept. Perhaps they'll make Ken less insufferable. Maybe they'll even improve the believability of the story. This is a great opportunity to rectify the worst of P3's shortcomings, so I hope they take advantage of it.

imo they should make at least a few of the monthly bosses into real dungeons instead of just a few fights into a boss
If tartarus is still random all they really have to do is increase the variety of pieces used
That's basically what I was thinking, give each full moon boss a mini dungeon/puzzle and keep tartarus as is but add more onto it, like make it change themes every month instead of every other month. I know I'm in the minority, but I found tartarus fun, I'd hate it if they fundamentally changed it.

P1 is almost a all school adventure. West can digest school stuff while doing other stuff in persona. Also it was a blobber, not exaclty the more popular dungeon crawling system. Yes you can re-do the combat system but basically it will become another game. You can improve the fricking other ending which required a shitton of convoluted stuff and it was undoable without a guide. Yes, sure, and it would be a good idea but the game was too archaic. You would have to re-do everything basically.
P2 yeah don't think they would translate shadow hitler in modern times. Also all the shit that happens on the expansions. Half of the themes and shit that happens in those game are a nono today.
The social persona are the most popular cause they hit the weeb side cause school and being a teenager. SMT purists are an extinct race. Nocturne remake passed in so much silence i can't even remember a trailer on some e3 or direct or whatever is called.
Design work is difficult and risky. Part of the reason game remakes happen at all is so design work that's known to be good can be reused. Bad games are often bad because of serious design issues, and if you're going to pay for a redesign you might as well make something new instead.
