We are NOT getting another game under the Lets Go title. Gamefreak stated in multiple interviews that they like being unpredictable. The next game will also not be under the Legends name. It might be just like legends but will be called something else. Just like how everyone thought that Pokemon Stars was coming after Sun and Moon.

Masuda also said if demand was there, they'd make more. Frankly Let's Go style reremakes makes sense, seeing as they're clearly not going to let the chance to sell 7 year olds "new" Pokémon games, regardless of what you want.

There won't be any more Lets Go games because that was just an attempt to capitalize on Go's popularity, and it failed despite the fact that GO was way more popular back when LG came out.

But isn't saying "we're going to be unpredictable" a pattern in of itself? By this notion, we can guarantee that the next mainline title will be a "subgame" we've not yet seen before, which means they aren't actually being unpredictable.
Like sure, you don't know what it's going to be, but you sure as hell know it's not going to resemble anything they've done before, which helps narrow down the options a lot so long as they stick to a game centered around turn-based battling.

Yes correct its possible it will be a subgame but not under the Legends or Lets Go trademark

We did get it to an extent, it was called Legends Arceus. There was a dude that swore it would be the same.
As far as Pokemon artstyle/emphasis on catching goes, it was.

Can anyone verify what side game this image is from so we can conclude that this is fake?

      Anonymous

No side games ever used core game sprites moron-chan. Which means this is a legit leak or OP made a very convincing fake. And given how it lines up with UI's Game Freak released previously, I'm leaning more towards the former (we know they reuse stuff like that for beta work).

I’m a moron if I’m not a Black lowlife that plays every single fricking spinoff to know this for sure.

          Anonymous

The fact alone you talk about spin-offs, let alone assume Game Freak sprites ever appeared in any of them tells me you're an afterbirth too young to have played GS on-trend and too stupid to separate the franchise from Game Freak.

            Anonymous

It’s a simple formula anon. I played the main games, which I know don’t have that image. I didn’t play the spinoffs, so I made a guess that if it’s not a real leak that it could be from a spinoff. I was asking the board if they knew if spinoffs had it because I have not played them all like a schizotypal moron/child. You clearly have, so you answered my inquiry. But then you decided to pretend it was common knowledge and pretend to be morally prophetic by claiming that anyone who didn’t play all spinoffs to know that’s not from them is a moron. Therefore, you’re moronic.

              Anonymous

I haven't touched any of them. But I know Game Freak's in-game assets do not get shared with the franchise. Nintendo made them themselves or from copying TCG art ptior to TPC's founding or TPC made them from GF design sheets after, but no game used GF sprites as they weren't up for disbursal.
So that's why this image IS so intriguing - using Gen 2 sprites in a modern game (as I said either a VERY convincing fake or we're going back to Johto).

                Anonymous

And that should be common knowledge, but frickwits the world over think "pocket monsters series" is the same as pokémon the brand, so we get wankers like you assuming Game Freak shit is spin-off tier because it contradicts their desire for upcoming offerings.

Where’s the rule that says spinoffs can’t use assets from main games? That anon was perfectly fricking reasonable in his guess.

                Anonymous

I'm sorry Game Freak pitching a fit over Lugia's creation and the subsequent folding of it into their world as an after-thought rather than the overlord god shudo wanted it to be, coupled with the knowledge most Pokémon games Nintendo released explicitly avoided Game Freak's style and presentation, to not impede, infringe or otherwise impact the core series wasn't written down for zoomie afterbirths to learn, or indeed that Game Freak haven't allowed their old Gen 1 roms be put up on NSO, while Ninty have EVERY old Pokémon game they made up for paypigs hadn't told you Game Freak protect THEIR shit and don't let outside entities frick with it, but that's why you're defending a zoomie moron spouting bullshit because she's mad due to the implications.
And for what it's worth, this shit is feeling more and more like a real leak, as OP seems to have fricked off to let their massage percolate through the internet, just like the dudes who dropped the Aoloa starter leak and the LGPE leak (I'm sure they're not the same people) and contrary to every other /vp/-brand fake leak, where they stick in-thread and provide more details. Again, either we got a Grinch-tier fake going on from a dude with chops on how to play a fake leak or it's real. And Occam's razor says this doesn't seem to have the same work put in that Grinch had put in to dupe the world.

                >most Pokémon games Nintendo released explicitly avoided Game Freak's style and presentation
Again, this isn’t a rational thing to think for someone who hasn’t played all the spinoffs like an autist
Not only that, but almost every fake leak also fricks off
You’re an insufferable mongoloid moron who just went on a long speech for no fricking reason about how the franchise supposedly works based on patterns they always break, which never disproved that someone who didn’t play the spinoffs couldn’t possibly know if any of them had that image. have a nice day.

                Anonymous

Anon, OP's image can be replicated in Photoshop in an hour. He's using widely available gen 2 sprites. It doesn't take much work to create that image, it's not like he's showing 3d models. The background area you can see above the picturebook reminds me of a location in Sun and Moon too.

This one is weird because it would mean adding new evolution methods for Scizor, Slowking, Politoed, etc. Though that would be welcome.

        >linking cord
They probably will add held items, if they do a Let's Go, but don't pretend they haven't already added a trade 'mon evo item. They could honestly just re-use that (or have the evolutions be catchable like the Hitmons got added to Kanto's wilds).

          Anonymous

          >Link Cord
That was only because Legends Arceus was designed as a single player, single version game.

That said, in a game without held items added, if OP is to be believed, it is possible that Metal Coat, Kings Rock, etc. just become usable items like Stone evos.

Same with Protector, Magmarizer, the pory upgrades and the rest the "hold item, then trade" evos they included, not to mention the actual final trade evos in the wild.

Because part of Tajiri's inspiration was playing an RPG on NES (well Famicom) while Sugi played the same one and wishing he could link with Sugi's game to trade useful items he didn't have and vice-versa. There was also the social aspect he'd envisioned kids playing the games in (the genesis of the idea of Pokémon came from imagining a bug crawling along the link cable) as well as the eveentual version exclusive aspect to better drive the social component and along the way trade evos became a thing as they fed into everything Tajiri had wanted for his series - a game where you could trade shit you didn't have in your game for shit others didn't have in their game, with a bonus for trading shit available in both to others.

We know from MANY leaks when it was in production, long before it was officially announced, the Let's Go was literally just a console version of Pokemon Go to cash in on the fad. It originally had a unique overworld, then someone went "why don't we just set the game in Kanto?"

No, but the story of HG/SS was based around their box legend, after the originals just kinda had them there as another thing to investigate. I'm assuming if this is real, they decided to further build up the box legends as part of the story to the point they decided it made sense to use Ho-Oh and Lugia as the title names (like Masuda said it was natural progression from revisiting Yellow to picking Pika and Eevee as the starters in it, due to how Yellow started up with the rival getting Eevee and the player Pikachu). That they already established LGPE as being an alt re-telling of past events, it's not hard to assume another one would similarly not slavishly hold itself to its original telling of the region's story.
