>LGPE, the previous experimental pseudo-remake, had Pikachu going out of the TV and dragging you into the Pokemon world as the player character, literally an isekai
>Legends Arceus starts with the player character meeting God and getting their phone transformed. Their PHONE, not a Rotom Phone, a literal irl phone with a neat Pokemon case, but just a phone
Prove to me Rei/Araki isn't literally an isekai'd real person who likes Pokemon games and is sent to Hisui to help people get used to the creatures and training them.
>isekai
gay genre
forspoken flopped
There are characters with cellphones before Rotom Phones were a thing. Not everyone has a Rotom Phone
In canon? Where?
Gen 2 dumbass. The PokéGear.
Ah, yes, a different device that has never been refered to as a phone, let alone a smartphone like the ones that only exist with a Rotom in the main series.
>can make calls anywhere outside the players home
>NPC's talk about swapping numbers to call you
>"NUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU it am NUT am fone bekuze dey dunt kall ity un"
And kids in Japan had cellphones in 1999. They even gave away a Celebi with it.
We know. It's still not refered to as a phone, ever. It's basically a high tech watch of shorts, but it's still not a mobile phone, those only started appearing in gen 8.
Hell, Unova and Kalos also have small devices that allowed people to make calls and all that shit, but those were still not phones either.
>By the way, do you know how to use the PHONE?
>I'll read the instructions. Turn the POKEGEAR on and select the PHONE icon.
>Phone numbers are stored in memory. Just choose a name you want to call. Gee, isn't that convenient?
It's pretty strange how the series transitioned to just regular ass real world smartphones that happen to have a Rotom living in them.
And this was after games like XY tried to update the tech of Pokemon to something less quaint looking, but still more sci-fi than real life smartphones.
The Kalos dex was basically the perfect smartphone analogue already, we didn't need it reduced to a fricking app.
In Journeys, Goh had a regular phone before it was upgraded with a Rotom.
In Twilight Wings, Bea is shown to have a regular phone in episode 2.
Isekai is often tasteless and halfassed, but can be pretty fun, enjoyable, immersive, and entertaining when done right.
98% of it is wish fulfillment trash about how a loser nerd gets teleported to JRPGland where all his useless vidya knowledge makes him an invincible magic god and every woman on earth orbits his dick, but he still won't frick any of them because if he lost his virginity he wouldn't be relatable to the target audience anymore
>LGPE starts with Pikachu jumping out of the telly, establishing there is a real world we are viewing the events from before the viewer gets issekied into the virtual world
>Legends starts with Arceus's True form talking to Lucas about events in the Pokémon world, establishing we are viewing this from the in-universe perspective
Play the fricking games.
You can literally say there are no pokemon in your world, it's absolutely an isekai, you know about them and they "exist" for you but not like they do for Laventon
>Lucas
oh no no no no it's that guy
Does anyone else hate seeing smartphones in fiction? There's just something soul draining about not being able to escape these fricking things even in fictional escapism.
Interestingly enough, very few people ever report seeing or using smartphones in dreams, despite them being very common items that lots of people spend significant amounts of time using. This applies even to people who have never known a world without them.
You got a link to a study or anything for that?
This making me wonder about levels of tech in my own dreams.
Dreamt of motorcyles/guns both modern, in the context of action movies. Had dreams about games as cds and carts. Dont remember a computer or smartphone.
I dreamed of using one this morning anon. My alarm is my watch vibrating until I turn it off, so it was vibrating in my dream as well and I had no idea how to make it stop and I thought I wasn't dreaming. Spent 20 godamn minutes looking up on my phone how to make it stop vibrating after trying to even shut it down in the dream. Holy frick.
Anyway, pokemon related right. Imagine how annoying a Rotom alarm would fricking be?
Why would that be the case?
Though I do dream of computers sometimes
You can absolutely say you're familiar with pokémon too fricknugget. Not my fault you've a room tempreature IQ.
>can't even reply correctly
>doesn't realize being familiar with pokemon would be a valid response for an irl person isekai'd to the Pokemon world, making both answers valid in the isekai scenario while non-isekai discards one
Frick off. The MC I PLA confirms in the Daybreak update that there are gyms and contests where they come from, and they have a skill for catching Pokemon Not every phone has been infected by Rotom you autist.
they didn't have the Rotom phone in Sinnoh moron.
