This delivered pretty much what it promised. Also who except boomers cared about Dennis the Menace? It seems like a game your dad would rent for a weekend along with Jack Nicklaus Golf.

They're 'grandma's xmas present' games anon. Grandma doesn't know shit and gets you that "game about that movie that kids like". And you say "thanks gran" and play it for 20 minutes then go ride your bike. Unless of course she buys you THIS licensed Ocean game. You reluctantly say "thanks gran" then proceed to play what is surprisingly one of the best platformers in the entire snes library.

My grandmother bought my brother this. My god the basement was hard. It's better than Super Mario World.

It was one of the mainstays on Night At Nite when that was super popular. There was also a movie. Most people were familiar.

Dennis the Menace cartoon was one of my favorites as a kid

    ?feature=shared
    I watched it circa 1990.
Don't think the video game is based on this particular version of him though

The sexual tension between Dennis and the female characters in this show was remarkable

I've watched it in 2003 on re-runs and loved it too being named Dennis irl adds some extra kick to it

The game seems to be based off movie though, which I didn't like. Well, at least it (looks) better than Ocean's Flintstones the movie game. Their SNES titles were usually borderline unplayable.

Still not as much as between Bobby and his wanna-be girlfriend in Bobby's World

Growing up in the late 80's and early 90's, Dennis the menace had a weird tie-in that was happening with Dairy Queen. Not really sure what that was ever about, but I remember images of Dennis the Menace and other characters from the comic series holding Dilly Bars and earring parfaits and have their images on the side of cups. Then there was the short lived cartoon series that lasted for a couple seasons. The Dennis the Menace game was based on the live action movie with Walter Matthau being Mr. Wilson, and Christopher Lloyd being some sort of criminal with a switchblade. As a kid, I could not give a frick about Dennis the Menace. At least, not the American Dennis the Menace. The game was like a weird "we got the license because we could" kind of game.

The comics were still kind of popular during that time, maybe not as big as Peanuts or Dilbert but I still remember them having a presence

You do realize this was a tie in with a fricking motion picture at the time, starring Culkin, right? Or maybe it was so long before you were born, you just don't know.

80s kid here. There was a Dennis the Menace cartoon that was on TV as well as the movie, so while I never played this game, it's existence wouldn't have struck me as particularly odd.
