The steam console is pretty cool, I just found out about it a few days ago because I was sick of BG3 breaking my mods after every single update. I just wish you could turn off updates altogether and be able to choose when you want it applied.
If you search around the fallout 4 / Skyrim SE discussion hubs you will find many methods to prevent updating. One I recall requires you to make an appmanifest document read only. Hope that helps.
What method did you use, exactly? I'm definitely gonna downgrade BG3 because same issue as you. How would you play the game once you revert your version, though?

>One I recall requires you to make an appmanifest document read only. Hope that helps
this doesn't work. I tried it with BG3 and it force-fed me the update anyway.
>A WORKING SOLUTION FOR STEAM PLAYERS
Download previous bin files using steam console:
Open a command window "Run" by pressing «Win + R» and then enter the command: steam://open/console, and then press Enter.
Type command:
download_depot 1086940 1419652 8231067205656009020 [<delta manifestid>] [<depot flags filter>] : download a single depot
It will download previous unbroken exe files. Just copy and paste them into BG3 bin folder, and everything will work.
Edit:
forgot to mention, reinstall all Native mods including Native Mod Loader
This is what I did for the most recent hotfix.

I tried this, but BG3MM keeps telling me I don't have a new version of script extender. I already extracted multiple versions of SE to no avail. any fix on that front?
lol I beat me of the hardest bosses by standing still and timing my parry. The puppet king was the easiest boss in the game. You don’t have to dodge anything, just perfect parry and you win. His second phase I parried him until his scythe broke before even trying to hit him. The entire fight was piss easy, and that start works on almost every boss entirely outside of maybe 1 move they he boss will have that must be dodged
now that it's cracked i just P-irated this (get it?)
from what i've played so far it's pretty good
weapon customization is cool
i like how there's no stat requirements but you can still scale with whatever stat you want
not a fan of the perfect guard mechanic as the timing feels razor thin
the constant fps drops are fricking annoying so i'm wondering how polished it really is
tbf i haven't rebooted my computer in a while and i am playing a fitgirl repack
i'll try rebooting/downloading another repack and see if that'll fix it
>not a fan of the perfect guard mechanic as the timing feels razor thin
The game cheats with the timing. You have to block way sooner than what the animations show.
lame.
i know i'm guarding as they're about to attack so why the frick is the game punishing me for actual perfect timing?
Just hold down block and don't tap when you try to perfect guard. Make use of guard regain and make up for mistakes by playing aggressively but smartly
What point are you at? The 2nd boss imo really helps with figuring the timing and by the 4th boss you should be able to perfect guard 70% of everything within a few tries. Don't be afraid to mix in dodges as well, you do get iframes you just can't iframe through red attacks and you can also dodge a fair number of moves witn just good positioning
just got to the hotel and i've been practicing on the dummies trying to figure out the timing
maybe i'm playing it too sharp like sekiro >Make use of guard regain
i have to get used to guarding in a souls game again after the roll spam that's DS3 and ER
iirc the dummies are weird to practice against, I'd just progress and work out the timing against some random mobs. Like the other anon said, you shouldn't tap the block button but hold it for a little longer to get the full amount of 'parry' frames (then you also block the hit if you missed the timing).
>not a fan of the perfect guard mechanic as the timing feels razor thin
The game cheats with the timing. You have to block way sooner than what the animations show.
I didn't dislike the game (I only played the free demo on PS4), but I agree there isn't anything much to it. I don't even enjoy watching it speedrun/hitless like I do soulsbornekiring. It is missing a certain something . . .
>I don't even enjoy watching it speedrun > It is missing a certain something
It's just a guy standing in front of the boss and spamming perfect parries and charge attacks.
>Why did so many morons claim this is some kind of masterpiece or anything like Bloodborne?
Reddit doesn't allow us to criticize video games anymore because that makes you a hater who just wants to hate everything to be contrarian apparently
Lies of P is a textbook example of why plagiarism laws have to exist and be enforced. From beginning to end, the experience is soured by the poor quality of the code and optimization, even on the PS5. It's full of bugs and is outright unplayable. To think that the korean developers at neowiz thought to release a game so unpolished surprises me, but what truly leaves me in shock is the sheer amount of COPE from consumers who defend this soulless asiatic jank.
No, blatantly trying to imitate the recipe that From Software perfected through a decade of experimentation and refinement over the dark souls, Bloodborne and Sekiro games doesn't make Lies of P a good game. Worse, it failed at delivering the actual strengths of the genre. The level design is amateurish, repetitive and corridor tier. Funny that they tried to spice things up by placing obnoxious traps and other "gotcha!" moments throughout the game with absolutely none of the subtlety and visual storytelling Fromsoft is known for, that could allow you to planify around and react to those obstacles. The boss fights have nonsensical attack patterns and hitboxes defying logic, making dodging and parrying needlessly more complicated than it has any right to be. Human enemies who you would expect not to defy the faulty game logic was trying to establish just go full moron and defy your expectations in a completely unfun manner. Always love reading the non-argument about how puppet monsters having disjointed attack patterns was to be expected coming into this game, and yet it's the human/monster fights that show the highest amount of moronation.
>any negative thoughts on the game must be a copy pasta
kek, fuming
tl;dr
But I love how there is always that one webmposter in Lies of P threads who makes an absolute fricking clown out of himself by posting webms of being fricking terrible at the video game and then blaming it on the game
>I can't read
Can't breed to by the looks of it. No wonder you love asiaticslop
Oh jesus christ its not a pasta? You typed all that out even knowing not a single human being is every going to read it? That's... so sad.
puppetchads won
>Lies of P gets the nautical-themed expansion that people have been pitching for Bloodborne 2 since forever
kek. Can't wait for some boatkino. How does DLC usually work with Gamepass btw? Do you just get it?
>How does DLC usually work with Gamepass btw? Do you just get it?
No, you don't. You only get the standard edition, so no DLC. I don't think it's just Lies of P, it's every game.
>Lies of P is a textbook example of why plagiarism laws have to exist and be enforced
Why would I read it when you start the sentence by proving that you're a seething homosexual who screams GOVERNMENT HELP ME when a game you don't like gets popular? You're literally doing what tendies do and why they're such a laughing stock.
tl;dr
But I love how there is always that one webmposter in Lies of P threads who makes an absolute fricking clown out of himself by posting webms of being fricking terrible at the video game and then blaming it on the game
It's a fricking slopped up copy of bloodborne and every other souls game. Even the healing animation is basically bloodborne straight up. It's made by Koreans what do you expect.
The game could be good but I won't support such blatant copies with actual money.
Which weapon/combo did (you) use?
Pic related for me. The whole moveset is really good the highlights being the charged heavy and running heavy attacks. The fable arts are the chefs kiss
I disagree the seven explosions art hits hard as frick with nice range. The parry is satisfying to pull off and did me good against aggressive enemies because it stuns and deals nice damage.
people that claimed it to be on the level of BB, sekiro etc deserve to be publicly flagellated
but it's a great game, tight combat, fun bosses, though surprisingly the best part for me were the characters
don't feel compelled to replay it like i usually do with these games though, but i'd buy their next game in a heartbeat
>Story is interesting.
That I'll never get.
I liked the game well enough but the story was pretty bad and you can see the gepetto "twist" coming from a mile away
I didn't like that lying is what gives you humanity no matter what.
Sure, they establish that being able to lie is what differentiates you from other puppets. But to be the most "human", you have to be a lying murderpuppet that occasionally listens to music.
And there are never any repercussions at all to lying or killing somebody. Heck, avoiding fights and not killing people never gives you humanity, either.
Puppet Ripper is such a good weapon. >Great Reach >Good speed and damage >Even better range with the heavy attack and large AoE >Fable Arts is either insane single target damage or huge AoE sweep
What do you mean? It has no moronic 2 second input/animation delay like from's games do and feels great to play.
Weapon crafting system is fun to mess around with too.
>game is coded like ass
LoP is coded like silk, not ass.
It's the best running game of 2023 for me.
Ran like a charm on launch with no bugs. Perf was silky smooth. I could run it on 5k native on my 3080 and it still ran well north of 60fps. It had low RAM and vRAM consumption. In an ocean of UE4 games that ran like shit and had stuttering out the ass, LoP had no stuttering whatsoever. Loading screens were semi instant.
Get some real criticism instead of rummaging through your anus and throwing shit (literally) to see what sticks, you miserable bald virgin. Holy shit, imagine running some kind of a smear campaign on video games, and in Ganker to top it off. Layer inside layer of patheticness.
>Ran like a charm with no bugs
So there are people who really have nothing better to do than to tell lies on the internet, for fun. Or maybe you're just a dishonest asiatic shill
>filtered
It's easy you moron. You got filtered moron.
Why is the anti-ER troony discord suddenly rallying behind this game?
There is no discord moron shill.
Nothing wrong with its level design. Whether you like it or not comes down to personal taste.
The levels are boring.
What do you mean? It has no moronic 2 second input/animation delay like from's games do and feels great to play.
Weapon crafting system is fun to mess around with too.
> It has no moronic 2 second input/animation delay like from's games
It literally has you moron.
People that play Souls games for the combat i just dont understand. How do you get pleasure out of dodge rolling and r1 spamming?
A Souls game that hyperfocuses on combat and neglects level design and exploration is obviously going to end up being mediocre.
Anon its ok to not be good at video games.
Your lack of skill does not make an objective 9/10 game bad.
It's way too easy you moron.
Yeah if you are playing post patch. Also every souls game is way easier even post patch except sekiro.

Just use strength weapons/handles if you want hard mode.

an extremely cheap and uninspired imitation of bloodborne that somehow looks worse than the 2015 game it rips off
I agree, it's dogshit
One of the best games I've played recently, it's really fricking good. Can't wait for the DLC/sequel.
Filtered zoomers need not apply.
>Filtered zoomers need not apply.
It's easy you moron. You got filtered by thinking it's good moron.
Its shilled by koreaboos and paid off streamers but it barely sold anything , got mid reviews and it currently has 1.5k active steam players
Ie dead game
It barely sold anything to the point that the devs were really happy with the reception and confirmed a DLC and a sequel?

LOL what? Inconsistent attack animations, perfect block is borderlines RNG, every attack has 10 seconds windup.
I have been playing it for a few days, and it is good.
Gameplay is fun, difficult but not to much. Graphics are nice. Story is interesting.
I give it 8/10.
