Lies of P is a fun game, has some good bosses and fun combat (kind of like a cross between Sekiro combat and maybe DS3 or BB). It's basically inferior to the Souls games in every way, but it's still a good game and definitely worth playing if you like the FromSoft format.

GRIME is a souls-like metroidvania hybrid. it actually does the 'frick i need a fricking bonfire so bad' feeling better than fromsoft has since DeS/DS1. it also has a very restrictive stamina system, and pacing and especially bosses are very souls-like. but then it has metroidvania stuff but that's mostly for map traversal
Salt and Sacrifice is fantastic. Sequel is garbage though.

In terms of setting it pales compared to Fromsoft but that’s just a given. Fromsoft are unmatched when it comes to world designs those frickers aren’t normal. However in terms of everything the Hamas is really good. Fantastic weapon system, QOL npc side quests. Great OST. Combat feels smooth and weighty without the clunk of Souls likes made by lesser devs. Enemy variety is on par with Fromsoft. Bosses are fricking amazing and some are hard as shit. Graphically game look really good. Sound design is also really good. Game is linear but I don’t think it detract from the level design. But it’s very obvious the devs were being conservative. It’s an 8/10 game but if you like rollslop it gets boosted to 9/10.
Level design that makes Nioh look like DS1. Combat that makes BB look like <insert whatever game you insist is extremely high skill (probably Ninja Gaiden because you're a gay) here>. A story that has tons of NPCs talking at you, and manages to avoid the most interesting subplots for a shitty title drop from a boss who was a big nothing. It's honestly pretty mid but people are hot for the twink and overall Korean aesthetic.

They're like a half-step away from being on the same level as Souls and Nioh, the timing has just a liiiiiiiittle jank sometimes.
Other than that, they straight up mog From's perception of the "Dex" build.
The rapier, the knife, the rocket glaive, there are shitloads of fantastic looking dex weapons that have fantastic movesets. Starting with the rapier was both the best and worst mistake I ever made, because while I love it more than any weapon in Souls, it also made me ignore the blade swapping system almost completely. I'd only swap handles to frick around, before deciding I ultimately preferred the rapier.
Not quite as good as sekiro but it's my second favorite souls game based purely on mechanics and I've been playing these games since DeS.
It has quality animations on par with fromsoft which is something no other copycat has pulled off. It has amazingly thoughtful mechanics and systems that quite frankly shit all over ER and every other fromsoft game that isn't sekiro. Even the bloodborne rally is better implemented because it has much longer windows of recovery.
It doesn't have the sense of exploration and environmental artistry that fromsoftware games have. ER in particular as the pinnacle of exploration and bloodborne the pinnacle of environment aesthetics.
TL;DR: It's clear strengths are mechanics and animations. It's clear weaknesses are level design and aesthetic scope.

ER deserves some pushback. Fromsoft has made games with better mechanics in the past than ER. Input reading AI is so fricking lame as a design decision. It's not difficult, in fact it is easier because you know you have the ability to manipulate the ai into an action whenever you want. That makes the enemies seem far less threatening and interesting and way more gamey and immersion breaking.
I fricking hate the input buffer. Holy. Fricking. Shit. It feels so terrible to play with. Even the absurd hesitation animation windows don't feel as bad as buffered inputs. I'm not asking for roll spam cancel so you get a ds3 boss fight situation. I'm asking for a middle ground of block canceling. Sekiro let you cancel anything into a parry. I don't understand how second phase works. She just dashes around me and randomly stabs me in the ass. Even with a summon it took me a couple of tries, since mf just dies instantly most of the time.
The rest of the game is fine, although Romeo was a difficulty spike as well with his moronic 10 hit or whatever combo chain that you can't outrun.

Also, break her shield in first phase by striking her back a lot.
Phase 1, you should actually either use parry as little as possible or do nothing but parries, cause if you break the weapon, she goes straight to phase 2.

So what weapon did you all use to play through the game?
I used Etiquette, the Booster Glaive, the Twin Dragon Sword, and the Proof of Humanity for NG+.
I used Big Wrench with (I think) Dancer handle. But on fresh NG I realised that blade for starting STR class is decent so I stick with that, though I can't remember which handle I used.
Just using every variety of STR and got the true ending with the saw.
I went Motivity in general, once I realized that the handle only determines the moveset, I stuck with the dancer's curved sword or whatever it was called and put whatever the biggest blade I had at the time

my tip: just cheat engine yourself more cranks. Once you get into the midgame you start getting a bunch of weapons with different movesets you can mix and match, but there are only a limited number of cranks per playthrough so you might get fricked for experimenting.

I, for example, would like to have a game like (older) Fallout, isometric views, post-apocalyptic, where most actions would depend on cards you draw. Cards would represent weapons, ammo, consumables etc. (so basically, you would find an ammo card on a body, not ammo, if you get what I mean), and the game would have autosave instead of manual so you wouldn't be able to reload over and over and over when you frick up.

For most of the game I used the sawblade on some long handle with a motivity crank. Difficulty-wise it was much easier than sekiro once I stopped trying to parry, but harder than ds1-3 for me. Level design felt very ds3 and on-rails though.
That seems very close to my experience, though Door Guardian was fricking nothing for me since I was just spamming charged heavies as my default at that point anyway. I didn't even know he had a gimmick

I was too. But his shock reduces your stamina to 0 if you get hit by it, and you have to wait it out. It takes forever to get that second deathblow on him.
Yeah I know, I hated that shock status (why the frick is there shock and electric shock?). But I just waited it out IIRC
I think it's supposed to be like "a state of shock" as opposed to electric shock. But it's still bad.
With the swamp monster, I found his attacks very RNG. If I remember right, I only beat him when he didn't do that flail attack at all.
The game has weird translation...will never forget that "Staggered" used to be translated as "Groggy" in the demo. Non-Electric Shock should have been "Stun" or "Concussion" or something because it's the result of being hit with incredible blunt force.

I don't know about the comparison with Denuvo, but the performance is amazing. I have a hyper outdated junk PC (i5 8400/1066), on medium settings with high textures I have stable smooth 1080p/60 fps.
You have never seen a Unreal Engine 4 game looking this good with no stutters. I played through it with denuvo.
it's insane how polished it is and how well it runs. goes to show that the problems with other UE games are mostly a lazy/incompetent dev issue.
