C/C scaling feels pretty bad, but the blade fable art is pretty good and the moveset is great. I'm going to do a NG+ run with it soon, hopefully the damage doesn't frick me too bad.
Every regular handle is scaling balanced at C/C, only special weapons ever have more total scaling than C/C.

15% less damage at 100/100 than other weapons with the same base damage. Although now that I compare all of the special weapons' base damages, it has the second lowest base damage behind the umbrella. I guess the only reason to use it is the ability to attack while blocking, but you can use aegis for that.

I think only one ending is tied to humanity? To get the ending you're talking about, you just have to spare Sophie, don't know if you even need a certain humanity level. When Gepetto asks you for your heart you just have to refuse, fight the Nameless Puppet, and you get the ending.
The true ending is locked behind max humanity that's really the only requirement for it, and it's not hard to get at all. You also unlock white hair P.

Yes. If you stay fully puppet then you're a robot who can't refuse Gepetto. You need humanity to get the option to refuse him. The Rise of P ending needs even more. You don't need gray hair for free from the strings but I think it needs to be long at least.

One anon last night in the thread said he beat the entire game with the flame dagger, which I thought was kind of impressive considering the damage isn't very good, but it's a fast weapon and you can keep applying burning DoT on bosses/enemies.
The light adv blades all have a buff that increases the damage by 50%.

It's their fable art. It doubles your elemental damage, so it's actually a bit more than a 50% damage boost.

The greatsword isn't actually advance, you have to use the main special to coat it in acid. It's the carcass hammer thing that's advance in base form.

I don't think the lack of ADV scaling weapons is THAT bad since you can intermix the handles to get the exact elemental weapon you want but I wouldn't have minded 1 or 2 more of em since a good number of them are lategame are weirdly hidden

on ng+3 and i still dont have the complete gepetto and vegnini story trophies, how do? also dont have the play piano perfect tune or whatever. i got the heart pounding in ng and i guess i shouldve played the piano then to get that trophy.
To get the piano trophy you have to go BACK to the hotel AFTER the credits roll and play the piano. It'll be glowing/lit up to indict you can play a perfect piece. If you chose to go right into NG+ you can miss out on that trophy.
To get Gepetto's trophy you have to check his desk/office as well AFTER the credits roll and you go back to the hotel, there is a letter on his desk, and I think that might only be available in the bad ending where you give up your heart to him.
I have no idea how to get Vegnini's trophy, figured you have to solve all the cipher boxes or something to do with Arcalino riddles.

I got it, you need to talk to Arlecchino in the last trinity room and ask him about Venigni. Not sure if there are prerequisites to unlocking that dialogue. You'll get a toy you need to give to Venigni, and after you do, you get the trophy.

Two Dragons is really fun. Landing the charged R2 deflect and also having it stagger feels amazing. I find it's better for attacks that are heavily telegraphed and heavily delayed due to the initial startup. I just used it on NG+ to wreck swamp monster, the boss you originally get it from.

When you do the quest for the gentleman on Rosa Isabella street to find his wife, if you TELL THE TRUTH to him and then come back later, you'll find him dead and can loot the bloody wedding ring off his body. You can only get it if you TELL HIM THE TRUTH and say that his puppet wife didn't love him.
I just imagine he commits suicide as you find him dead in the exact same spot he was standing.

By the time you meet the test subject, it's very clear that they can also become human and so you're now allowed to see the "true" answer of whether or not their love was real

He's an immortal from a secret society of alchemists that wants to rebuild/resurrect the metal angel that they believe is god by collecting all the arms of god that were scattered when the metal angel broke itself apart. He is also the one that created the Ouroboros Eye weapon
P becomes an immortal at the end of the game, which is why he says we have a new "immortal brother" and in a letter he states that he looks forward to running into P on the eternal timeline. Why he was in Krat I have no idea? I'm guessing for the Arm of God or just to observe what would happen with Simon and Ergo.

the bad ending was the last ending I got, and hearing all the replacement puppets calling you Carlo (as if Geppetto was trying to push the point across) while listening to Shadow Flower fricking broke me

That's why it's the "bad" ending. It's meant to be dark and depressing, because it is. Everyone is fricking replaced with puppets and Carlo kills everyone and Gepetto basically just wants to build a city of puppets to replace everyone who died.
Gepetto even admits when Carlo died it broke him, so it's no surprise he's insane, also lost his wife as well. He also admits he didn't want any of this to happen, but basically just accepts that it's how things went.

It's just based on humanity. I had high humanity and gave her peace but got the normal "free from the strings ending" because it wasn't quite high enough to get the gray hair. It wasn't low enough to lock me into the bad ending though.
Can you get locked into the bad ending? I thought that just requires you giving heart? Do you not get a choice if its too low?
If you have low humanity and you kill Sophia then you're locked into it. I believe that's the only way to get locked into it, as long as you let Sophia live, you can refuse to give Gepetto your heart.
There are three endings, but the true ending with the white hair is tied to high humanity, if you don't have high enough humanity you'll only be able to get one of the other two endings.

I'm not exactly sure how much humanity I had (the cat let me pet her at least), let Sophia live and told Simon I liberated her (not peace), then refused to give up my heart and that's how I got the ending
On the subject of endings, I'm wondering, does the bad ending play out any differently if you pick to give your heart at the stargazer if you die during the nameless fight, instead of when Geppetto asks for it?

The cube is situational at best. You also use them to respec if you want to do that and you use them for a couple side quests like curing Antonia’s petrification disease and ending on good terms with Fox and Cat
There's two blades for each element that have it innately and then 3 more that each have a fable art element buff. I'm not sure if advance effects elements when applied as a buff.

I might be weird or just less critical, but I thought the voice acting was fantastic from the majority of the characters. Gepetto, Vagnini, the puppets, Antonia, etc.
Sophia's VA sounded kind of amateurish though. Simon's VA was pretty good as well.
I liked most of them, especially Vegnini. Sophia and Eugenie was a bit meh for me, the former which confused me considering she was decent as Millicent from Elden Ring
Arlecchino is an incredible standout. He makes the other VAs look bad. I like Sophia too though.

Don't feel bad, I still cant get past Andreus. Granted im doing it pretty half-hearted. Pretty depressed and just not up to playing videogames these days. Been trying to build up the self-will to go in there and get my shit pushed in. But i've just been playing less punishing games, lol.
Andreus was a fricking wall for me and past him I never had another issue that couldn’t be overcome after just a few tries. If you want some advice

How in the FRICK do you people think Trident is better than Proof of Humanity? Do most people just not have Proof of Humanity yet? The only downside is you don't even get Proof of Humanity till the very end of the game, but it's a great NG+ weapon.
I guess Trident is good for a first playthrough since you get it way earlier.

In terms of fable art damage/skills, Proof of Humanity trumps Trident, and Proof of Humanity has an art that increases it's crit rate even further. Trident doesn't have that, or I don't think it does anyway.

Trident does more damage and has a better moveset. The running R2 is great and the charged R2 is just as good. The fable art is also faster and more effective.

To be fair you never need to level your hp in souls games ever. ALWAYS crank your damage stat, leave hp and stamina. You get more than enough anyway. Levelling hp in souls = instant easy mode.

I also theorized that different puppets were made for different things. You had maid and butler robots which obviously assisted the nobility/rich. You also had entertainment puppets like the clowns and jesters, and you even had military looking style puppets as well. You had police themed looking puppets, puppets with pitchforks who probably helped with farming or some kind, factory type puppets that helped with mining, etc.
It's reasonable to assume after frenzy the puppets started modifying themselves, since we already know they were making more of their own.
Honestly I wish there was more of that. I'd have loved to see like some butler/maid puppets with rivet gun arms or their feet replaced with wheels or some crazy shit.

It’s established that puppets went crazy and ignored their programming, started killing people. Pretty simple.
But it’s later revealed that Romeo was only trying to stop the alchemists and the monsters (carcasses) that had been created. But that doesn’t make sense. Since every single NPC is scared of the puppets, if the puppets wernt attacking humans, like Romeo says if you can understand his dialog, then why are the puppets attacking everyone? Why are they attacking you? Why does Gepetto get you to kill so many puppets if he’s still ultimately in control of them? Why didn’t he send us after the alchemists right away? All Gepetto actually wanted was the Hand of God right?
The story makes 0 sense once the “twists” are revealed.

Romeo and the puppets thought they were saving the city from the petrification disease the Alchemists started (which had already spread too much hence the mindless bloodshed)
Gepetto didn't give a frick about the puppets or controlling them, he wanted a frickton of ergo generated to revive his son with P's heart.
Likely that Romeo and Team Puppet were triggered by Geppetto and thought they were doing good by purging the majority of humans because of the disease and alchemists. In practice they were really just contributing to the ergo surge that both Geppetto and Simon were going for for their own ends.
The puppets could not hurt humans at all due to the Grand Covenant. Geppetto basically flipped the switch off and went "go ham"
I presume they couldn't frick with Geppetto either due to him being the proverbial administrator. What makes Carlo unique is that he was exempt from Law 0 which is partly why Romeo tries to warn him what Geppetto likely had planned for him.
I don’t understand why 90% of the weapons have to be huge. Why not do a 50/50 split or something. So far the only weapons I can tolerate are the starting sabre and rapier.
I used the rapier for over half the game, it was basically the only weapon I could stand and enjoyed using. I mostly ran a DEX build for the entire game and used a DEX scaling weapon. The rapier can get A rank scaling on technique so it's why I stuck with it for most of the game. The only S rank technique weapon I believe is the chinese sword katana.
There aren't many weapons that can get S rank scaling and that was disappointing to me.

I didn't like them on my first run but after finding out about their backstory and why they're doing what they do it makes way more sense and they're two of my favorites now.

They were but they very much did not want to, and only did it because the Alchemists promised treatment for Black Cat's sight. Later on they point out that they only give them enough treatment to keep him alive, but never enough to fully cure him so they're forced to do what the Alchemists want or else Black Cat goes blind/dies. When you spare them at the end and give each of them a Gold Coin Fruit, the Fox is excited because it might be enough to fully cure the Cat and they'll finally be able to get the frick out of Krat.
I can forgive them for that, but the one I can't forgive is Alidoro. Man backstabbed everyone in the hotel (Fox and Cat didn't really know any of the hotel NPCs so it wasn't personal to them) and not only that, he specifically hoped Eugenie would die because he found her annoying and hated her gloves. I'm glad that Hugo replaces him if you kill him because I was seriously thinking "I'm going to give up any new boss weapons this run just to kill this motherfricker, but you know what? Worth it." when I killed him, was very relieved and it was cool to see Hugo take up the Alidoro mantle and sell you boss weapons
Antonia always dies regardless, but if you help with the cure and hand over a fruit, her pain gets relieved, she's a lot more upbeat afterwards and when she does die it's much more of a peaceful death.

Break her shield in phase 1 aswell to make phase 2 easier then just dodge around like a spastic in phase 2 instead of trying to perfect guard everything aside from the opening which you want to perfect guard all the projectiles and her lunge.

Ng+ was hard at first but then the levels start rolling in like crazy. First of all, use a better weapon.

People keep saying that. How far in does that hit? What are the ergo increases?
After about level 80 the ergo cost to level up basically stops increasing. In souls games the cost grows exponentially so that leveling becomes extremely slow. But lies of P the cost is like 15,000 at level 90 and 16,000 at level 180.
But NG+ enemies and bosses give huge amounts of ergo. Like 50,000+ for late game bosses. I beat the game level 90, I finished NG+ at level 185 and I didn’t farm once, and in ng+ I only died about 5 times in entire playthrough, so I only killed most enemies once.
It’s also dumb how low softcaps are. I had effectively maxxed out effectivness from Health, all 3 damage stats, and my capacity let me equip the strongest defensive gear while using my heaviest weapon that I actually used.
By the end I was leveling up damage stats to gain 1 extra damage per two levels. Since I didn’t need more hp or capacity. The only stat I ignored was stamina since I never had issues with stamina.
While I think its weird you never leveled stamina, I 100% agree soft caps are way too low. By 30 points in a stat your returns go to shit for every stat except maybe capacity which seems to give decent value for quite a while. Even on NG getting your primary damage stat to 40-50 isn't completely unreasonable, but you have no real reason to do so. You get like 20 more attack at 50 than you do at like 35 with S scaling. Its silly.
Small weapons don't need stamina pool they need stamina regen. The best 'stamina' stat is Capacity because it lets you keep your weight low for faster regen or swap a weight ring out for a stam regen ring.
Even if that was true, with how generous levels are in NG+, you can easily pump both.

Easiest boss in the game, just target his other head and phase 2 is just phase 1 again. I can't believe this guy filtered so many people they had to nerf him.
It’s actually a shit fight because he has a sideswipe move that’s impossible to dodge and almost impossible to parry. I only managed to beat him because I got the aegis and used that whenever he would try to side swipe me.

This game kind of falls apart if you have a decent block weapon and armor
t.just beat manus in 10 minutes with base hp because every time i tried to deflect and missed id still block anyway, taking like 5% damage

Nvm, I kicked that cops ass. Just fable fricked him until staggered. After that I'm about almost 2 hours in, it's actually fun. I'm impressed and I'm loving it so far.

NG+ Nameless Puppet is entirely unreasonable. As an experiment i installed the easy mode mod where everything does x2 less damage to you, and he can STILL 2 shot you.
