I love people who come on Ganker and cry when there are a bunch of threads for a new game. 99% of Ganker is shitposting and you're here crying about a thread talking about video games. Get a life little crybaby boo bear b***h manlet!
Tanimura's forgettable but at least he's not "Umm he was a homeless guy but...one day Kiryu gave him the STRENGTH to keep fighting...so then he became a megatrillionaire richer than any company on Earth also he's a super good fighter and a genius detective and women LOVE him!!"
So was there like an epilogue chapter cut from the game or something? How the frick did Eiji go from being Ebina's right hand man delivering yakuza sacrifices to the radiation pit to becoming a disheveled mess with a broken ankle back in Japan? It can't even have been more than a month.
As soon as the game ended I hopped on to youtube to search "infinite wealth all cutscenes" because I was sure I had accidentally skipped some major plot point. Nope, just total slop.

Holy frick nevermind a month it hadn't even been 12 hours since Kiryu collapsed what in the actual frick? Did Ichiban teleport back to Japan? Was there meant to be some time difference between when he beat Bryce and Kiryu beat Ebina? The story makes it seem like it's all the same night.
In all fairness I think the Ichiban thing was happening later on, and then they cut back to the Kiryu shit. But I agree I literally also thought I had skipped a huge cutscene or something because of how rushed the ending feels.
Like let me see if I have this timeline right the night of the day when Kiryu gets revealed at ex Tojo HQ and the creation of new Bleach Japan/Eiji being the dude shipping off Yakuza to their radioactive deaths is the same night Kasuga takes Lani and Akane back to Japan and they all hide in the homeless castle. That same night the daidoji guy offers to take Kasuga's group back to Hawaii in the morning and when they reach there its night time, in that night they beat Bryce, and then supposedly that same night in Japan immediately after Chitose's broadcast Kiryu's group makes for Millenium Tower and once they win there is the morning of the ending cutscene. That has to mean that somehow Eiji was pumped and dumped by Ebina in the span of 24 hours, how the frick did he go from top of the world to looking basically homeless in that amount of time?
It's a minor complaint compared to the much bigger issues with the ending, but was anyone else confused when they "arrived" in Japan? Like they're on the tugboat, they specifically mention they need to rendezvous with the Japanese Coast Guard (which are where exactly?) and then fly back to Japan. Then all of a sudden they're just in Japan?
Can't remember where it says it, but I thought that shit at the end of the game was a month after the final fights in the game. That's why Eiji looked like shit. That's also why kiryu looked more worn down going into chemo at the very end was my understanding.
Yeah that's the post credits scene, the part where Ichi carries Eiji to the police station is the exact same moment Kiryu is getting airlifted off the millennium tower.
nah he looked awesome in lad8, it felt weird seeing gray hair kiryu in his usual suit. I like that cancer slim look of his with the hair and the black shirt.
>I don't know why people seem to despise it so much
It doesn't really have the allure Animal Crossing does despite being a knockoff of it. I'm someone who has put thousands of hours into each AC game barring CF and Dondoko Island is just...tedious? I mean, I'm a guy who bothered to catch 3 of every single fish and insect just to get the statues in NH and that is the definition of tedium.
Raising your town rating in Animal Crossing games is easy and just means planting some flowers, trees, and in NH it's putting a couple items outside wherever you want. In Dondoko Island every single thing that provides a buff must be connected to a road in order for it to grant you said buff. This heavily limits freedom in design because a majority of what you place down will offer you absolutely nothing except Satisfaction when your resort relies on attracting people via the various stats. This leads to you effectively having nothing but buildings blotting out the environment and makes every single item that's not a building, car, or statue completely pointless. Picture related is also the ideal way to bother with your personal house.
To top this off, you have to clear each area of the mooks which takes multiple days of smacking garbage to raise a rank so it's cheaper to clear. This makes the minigame feel extremely repetitive. The timer is also completely pointless when you give the player the option to sleep. This is clearly used as a balance to prevent you from spamming sleep and resource points later on, but come on now. The timer just makes the early and midgame feel like it has a time crunch for no reason, while in endgame it just wastes your time.
Now that I also know NG+ wipes the Dokopedia and I believe the Suggestion Box that makes caring about catching bugs or fish even more pointless since the whole point of Animal Crossing is to fill those sections out completely. In 8 doing that just feels pointless since it would take dozens of hours.
>Picture related is also the ideal way to bother with your personal house.
There's almost no reason to bother with your house period. You'd almost have to be trying to actually be in any danger during the fights. I stopped bothering with the house after getting like two extra hearts because I realized I was just never in danger.
You don't have to tank anything. If you get good at just spamming the first basic hit of the combo you can literally just stunlock everything. Every single enemy, even the last boss of it, can be stunlocked out of whatever animation they're doing with just one little bat hit. I think the only thing you can't interrupt is the full hammer spin once it's already started.
The full hammer spin instantly gives them super armor even at the start and if they are half way through an attack they also seem to have super armor. Plus, with like seven guys around you it just gets to be annoying to take 1-1.5 hearts.
Was so happy to see clothing customization even if it was limited and them vastly disappointed when I realized it wasn't in IW. In some ways Gaiden was the better game with a more coherent story.
i wish the combat styles were more purposeful rather than having proper style and gimmick style, Like in lost judgment. i also wish substories werent tied to a list where you could only do them off that list. other than that, Fricking awesome game. (except that wetfart of a fakeout with kiryu and hanawa almost dying in the middle)
It really was a great game. I just felt like the moments that make Yakuza so iconic were done so well. Gaiden had awesome huge fights (e.g. fighting with Watase was fricking awesome). The dynamic intro for the final boss is one of the best in the entire franchise. Absolutely kino soundtrack. It was short and sweet so they didn't have the risk that IW does with it being so long, but I think the length of IW isn't really the problem. I don't mind a long Yakuza game, but IW just feels like a real mess. I liked the first few chapters, but everything after that really starts to go off the rails.
>GTO
I was thinking about it the entire time, relating Onizuka to Yagami while doing the school stories as he was helping the students to grow while overcoming their insecurities. Especially the motorcycle gang, comparing it to SJG. I miss Onizuka so much.
[...]
Just finished it, got the 3/10 on my completion list. I tried to do everything right after the finale so that's why I'm wondering what I missed.
>Just finished it, got the 3/10 on my completion list. I tried to do everything right after the finale so that's why I'm wondering what I missed.
IIRC that 10 is referring to the specific school clubs, but you can't grind one out all the way, you you have to progress certain clubs before you can talk to that hot detective girl who gets you to join other clubs and you can progress their stories. Also some clubs can only progress at a certain time of day.
Just go around to the school clubs you haven't finished yet (I imagine robotics is one) and try talking to them (there should be instructions in the menu as to what you do next anyway for each club) or go talk to the hot detective and she might progress the story.
I also completed the entire professor sidestory. I did all the school stuff that was on my map which is why I'm wondering what I missed to get that sad 3/10 on my log.
I'm just asking for the same face anon, from adult women.
Hoping that you're not jerking to CP.
It's JAV but the actresses are small, flat, and baby-faced enough to pass as a e-girl if you squint a bit, ignore proportions and that they're obviously significantly larger than a child would be.
I feel bad about Saejima, he's cool as hell as a character and has an amazing fighting style, but beyond dogshit gameplay sections. It also feels like he was introduced too late to be a have some kind of legend ranking.
I feel bad about Tanimura. He was a really cool cop/detective type character and I liked how completely different he felt compared to all the other protagonists in the series. It's a huge shame that his actor got framed for drug possession by his buddy and didn't appear in the sequels. At least he was still mentioned in 8 and returned with a new design in the canon mobile game I guess
>canon mobile game
RGGO is its own separate universe. Ichiban has a complete different party and doesn't even know Saeko, Adachi, or Nanba for example. His party has Mitsuo (Remember him?), Akiyama, and several OCs while Komaki also took him in as his pupil. Another big one is Sawashiro is the final boss. Most importantly Kuze is out of jail, Ryuji is the reason why Shinada even started doing the soapland reviews in the first place, Korean Vergil personally knew Ryuji, etc.
Jesus Christ can you imagine going on vacation with Seonghui? What kind of fricked up shit she would do to you to wake you up in time for the hotel breakfast?
Yamai stole the show. they would have been better off just basing the entire thing around him and ending the entire game when he walked out of the hospital room. It's about the only thing they really got right through this whole tangled mess.
What part of 8's story was the first to really take you out? For me it was >two yakuza trying to regain power go on a vtuber's stream to out and cancel Kiryu
I was in it because I nutride this series hard af. but I think the things that made me reflect the hardest after it was over was just how tepid the antagonists were. I didn't really feel hyped once. Getting the girl back from Dwight the way they did, just did not feel rewarding to me. The story was set up for suspense but it lacked risk and reward. Almost all of the major events didn't feel big like in other games. Even Y5 managed to hype the final fight better with Kiryu and we all know how strange that was. Bryce needed to float around and fire lightning out of his eyeballs like in Saejima's Y5 part. something crazy. It was all a little too constrained for RGG.
What part of 8's story was the first to really take you out? For me it was >two yakuza trying to regain power go on a vtuber's stream to out and cancel Kiryu
The casino shit in chapter 6 >okay we have to make it big in this little casino >uhhhhh frick it *random heist montage* >okay we're in the actual casino, can't wait to see how they make use of this setpiece >uhhhhhh frick it *Wong warpskips you past his dungeon and into his boss fight*
>Lani was hiding with Akane somewhere in the middle of the ocean, with only one person in the known giving them occasional supplies >Oh, ok so let's umm move them back to the middle of the fricking city where there are multiple gangs and palekana hunting for them??? XD
I mean, as usual half of the story has absolutely moronic elements to make you scratch your head, but this was SO FRICKING dumb that I basically felt like turning the game off. IW was garbage on another level, it's like they took the worst aspects of y1,5 and 7 and crammed it into this game.
when i realized that the vtuber would play a prominent part of the story. I fricking muted my game every time she came on, I didnt care if it was plot relevant or not. I dont like them.
>finished Infinite Wealth >RGG burnout setting in >want to play Lost Judgment because the combat looks fun as hell >have to put up with Judgment's sluggish combat and 30fps cap on PS5 to get there
But I played Judgement at 60 fps on ps5? Is it because you own a ps4 copy or some shit? I thought it had a free upgrade. I even double checked and there is video of people playing it at 60 fps on ps5
last year i played yakuza 3-judgment (release order) within the span of 2 months and i didnt feel an ounce of burnout. However when i got towards the end of LAD8, i was contemplating skipping important dialog pieces because i was just done with the game, and i just didnt care about anything going on with the plot. (last fight was fun though as i was severely underlevelled and had to play it like an smt game with debuffs and buffs). i dont think rgg burnout will impact your enjoyment of judgment/lost judgment as they are more focused and refined games compared to lad8, i havent felt an ounce of burnout back when i played 3-judgment back to back, but now i feel it with lad8, and i havent played any rgg game since gaiden. its strange.
She quite popular with the western crowd and since they only played 0 and kiwami they didn't know about that time the studio erased her from the series for 10 years.
I'm just imagining Mine landing on his back like a moron after jumping off the building at the end of Y3 and Richardson only surviving because he used Mine's body as cushioning.
Next we'll find out Rikiya is alive and well in Y9 after getting shot because his heart was on the other side or some shit.
For the Lighthouse, I went to someone else's island and saw that people were actually up there when I found out that you can put a house there. I believe the best strat would be to put a house at the Lighthouse and the Hills so that people funnel into the Entrance/Great Tree area but you have a few more road bumps along the way for them.
It still seems like it's an exercise in frustration. They're gonna funnel down to the entrance immediately so you need to put them near the back somewhere and then force them to walk past your stuff which they'll touch for like two seconds and then never bother again since they'll be at the entrance.
I put people at both the hills and the lighthouse but they never once funneled into the entrance area. in fact, all guests only stay in whatever play you put them. Idk if that's a bug or what. but I can guarantee you it drastically affects their contentment levels if you put them somewhere with little to do.
I think one of the main differences betwen Judgment and Yakuza is the main cast. Kiryu has a main crew that's never constant or developed between the different games, so you never get attached to them because they either leave and never come back, or get killed on a dramatic way. While Yagami has had his gang constatly during his games so they grow on you as they all fight together, and even made appearances on Yakuza, making you glad that you get to see your friends even on different stories. Still waiting for Hoshino's black belt to be used in gameplay, it's been two games now.
j2 was barely above visual novel shit structurally, you just go school-detectives-school-detectives-lawyers-detectives-lawyers-detectives that entire goddamn braindead game.
Yeah it was such a breathe of fresh air playing Judgment where the supporting cast is actually helping and bouncing with the protag instead of just being "woah you're so cool protag-san". Kind of like Jojo part 5 : blend main character but on a team that is allowed to shine and properly carry the show.
That is also why LJ had a weaker story it wasn't really focused on the team. And Saori was wasted, same for my boy Higashi
>Yagami is the weakest characterwise
God I wish we had an actual good MC >Kiryu games are just memberberries >Ichi just had a second game and he's already so flanderized he's basically Jesus >Yagami is a boring frick with no personality
Kaito DLC was kino fricking give me more
I'm ashamed to admit it, but I kinda want RGG to pull a Yakuza 4 with the next Judgment game, adding playable Higashi and Sugiura to Yagami and Kaito. Yeah, writing a plot around 4 playable characters (preferably with 4 different cities) would be a b***h, but a man can dream...
No way this guy has enough gas in the tank to carry the series going forward like Kiryu did. It's only been two games and he's been flanderized to hell.
Yokoyama watched One Piece and decided to try and paste Luffy onto Ichiban.
I don't know why he pulled the "You're still my buddy" shit instead of the "You can come back from rock bottom" approach. It would have been far more in line with Ichiban's regular behaviour.
I think he could have been done in 7. they also made a lot of dialogue statements to the effect that Ichiban is gonna take care of the future. I really hope not. We need a new cast of characters imo. Kiryu is sort of a demi-super in a way where Ichiban and his crew of everymans can't ever get to. It really does feel like Yokoyama is super into One Piece and had to have Luffy lead the series. It's definitely not bad, I like Ichiban but idk how much more of this turn based 50 year old I can take. Wrap it up in Y9 and move on. I'm just hoping for another spinoff and some more gaiden sized games. Maybe one with Ryuji or Akiyama or Daigo or even Shishido or better yet Shinada.
>Maybe one with Ryuji
It really does feel like he's the next character who's gonna be brought back from death. Gaiden featured that Ryuji impersonator that was really close as a quick 'gotcha' and then a whole substory featuring more impersonators, and the little memory for him in 8 has Kiryu say that it feels like Ryuji "could reappear before [his] eyes, even now."
Him and Akiyama for sure. Ryuji was one of the best antagonists they've had for almost no reason since he's story isn't all that great or fleshed out. But ofc, the elephant in the room has got to be Mine. If Andre Richardson survived, then you gotta think Mine probably did as well. A Ryuji / Mine gaiden or spinoff would be something I'd be all over. Regardless of how ridiculous it all is.
>the only person represented in Essence of Remembrance who was actually dead was Nishiki
lol
But yeah, a Ryuji/Akiyama game would be real fun. I wanted to see more of their counterparts interact in Ishin, but a Gaiden game featuring those two would be even better.
They called Dead Souls an alternate universe during the bucket list memories in 8, so they could always just bring him back. and anyways, Nishiki could still be alive since Kiryu was literally right next to him when the bomb went off and he was fine for the most part. I don't know if they're taking this very seriously anymore given them bringing back Kashiwagi and Richardson. They didn't even explain those. They just survived and that's the end of that. idk if anyone is really dead at this point.

The funniest one in the game HAS to be Lau. They don't explain how he survived at ALL to the point where Kiryu can barely believe it's him, and then they just gloss over it in the end.

I honestly just pretended it wasn't really Lau. ofc, he straight up says it in 8 but what are we supposed to think? Rubber bullets? I don't get it. It's just too baffling. He doesn't even have a scar from the gunshot. Falling off the millenium tower is another one. The worst one they could bring back, imo, is Rikiya.
>I'm just hoping for another spinoff and some more gaiden sized games. Maybe one with Ryuji or Akiyama or Daigo or even Shishido or better yet Shinada.
its insane how boring yakuzagays are >bro what about more games with characters that already had their arcs completed?
You homosexuals complain about how "forced" Kiryu's return is, now imagine how "forced" Shinada having a game would be when he has frick all to do with organzied crime or really anything that's ever happened in the series outside of 5. >m-muh Ryuji! bro that would be sick
Actually die in a fricking fire. You are the kind of homosexuals that make that moronic homosexual Yokoyama bring characters back from the dead for no reason. Ryuji had a perfect ending for his character. Literally frick off for wanting to undo it for some shitty fanservice game.
A Shinada game would be extremely forced. Everything about that character was cleaned up perfectly. His shit was cleaned up so well that there was honestly zero reason for him to even be in Kamurocho in the final chapter, they just did it because they needed an epic team up of all the MCs. He didn't even have a final boss that fit him because his situation was cleaned up so well, they had to force the absolutely dumbest reason imaginable to make him fight Baba so that Shinada could have a final boss. There's no reason for Shinada to ever return, just let him enjoy his life with his loan shark bro and hostess gf
Even 8 went "Shinada really loved Baseball, I wish I could be that passionate about a hobby like that" so its fully aware there's no reason for Shinada to return.
If any character should get a Gaiden game, it's Tanimura. A game centered around explaining why he just disappeared out of thin air and wasn't there when Little Asia got burned to the ground despite it being such an important place to him would be great. They already redesigned him and got a new VA for him, alongside it being known that the original VA didn't even do anything. There's no reason to pigeonhole this character anymore. He even had a memoir in 8.
Meanwhile with Tanimura it went full "You know I have no idea what happened to him but not keeping in contact with him is my one regret" Tanimura needs it more considering he should've been more important to 6 and onward.
I'll never understand people asking for a Shinada game.
I mean yeah, he was cool and I wish we could have seen more of him in 5. But a fricking game just about him? Lmao.
If they're not limited, then not really, no. You'll have to farm at least 4 to level everyone on your main team equally though, unless you're planning to just powerlevel Ichiban for the level 70 achievement.
I really feel like that was meant to be Kasuga and they just lazily pasted Kiryu over top. Because that kind of crying begging is the exact same thing Ichi did to Aoki and being and emotional sob man instead of just enforcing the law with his is fists is more in line with his character.
even then Aoki was literally his best friend and basically brother until he got put into the slammer. why would even Ichi cry over homosexual ass Ebina who is bloodthirsty over some bullshit that happened forever ago and never met Ichi before
I mean because they have the same dad? Kasuga does consider Arakawa his father even if he refuses to prove whether they're blood related. The whole "nothing I say can mean enough" would make sense coming from him because he legit didn't know about Ebina's existence, a lot better than trying to square peg Kiryu regretting not stepping up as the tojo chairman.
Kiryu having damn near no reaction to Kashiwagi "dying" in the same game he ugly cries over some moron he met only a few weeks ago rubbed me the wrong way
i cant get into seonhee. IF people hate saeko because she smoked one cig, then seonhee mustve smoked a hundred. She seems too old! and not the good kind.
So the Palekana half of the plot was definitely rewritten a bit at some point, right? It really feels like they were building up Bryce making a dirty bomb with all the nuclear waste (especially after I believe Seonhee made mention of fuel rods), but maybe "well-received public figure of a local religion is actually running a doomsday cult that has spies in every part of society and is actively trying to end the world for his own benefit" was a bit TOO close to Shoko Asahara for the writers' tastes.
Imagine betting your life on two stronger bros just to see the main one of the two puking blood a few days later. Nanba run away from Ichiban and Adachi ayeeee you are too weak, while this frail mofo manned the frick up instead and never looked back. Plus his cuck story makes more sense. And he doesn't scratch his ass every 5 minutes. And his job has all three mage elementals natively. And he is not a 3dpd. Namba is the discount Namba, Tomizawa is the upgrade in every way possible.
I just got the fire bat for completing the Sujimon league, and right after unlocked Job Changing in the main story. Changing Kasuga's job now would be a waste right?
RGG managed to make Kiryu so interesting in this game to me. I really need another Kiryu game with brawler combat and friends now. Daigo, Saejima, Majima, Kaoru, Akiyama, maybe someone from Okinawa. I'm ready for it.
As for the story: Everything was pretty good but the antagonists were weak and the motives were paper thin. I think I get what they were going for but it really did not deliver. By far the weakest story in the franchise imo. Not a bad game considering all the side stuff and the friend interactions were amazing. The fight with Kiryu and Daigo/Saejima/Majima was peak. I just wish there was more of that.
I definitely recommend it and it would be cool to see it get a GOTY nom at the Geoff awards. We'll see how the rest of the year goes. Definitely a big step forward for RGG, I hope we get news sooner rather than later on what's coming next. We desperately need a new spinoff and hopefully a couple gaidens.
What level do you need to be for legend NG+ to not get raped by the first enemy oh yeah and in ng+ do you get millions of xp for beating up a random street homie like I saw in some of these screenshots
Brawler combat is so much better because even in Ishin playing on Ishin difficulty for your first run where you get one shot by everything at the beginning, it's still possible if you're skilled enough. Jrpgs you're just fricked if you're underleveled and being a 400iq strategist can only get you just a bit further until you get raped by the power gap.
not him but 100% for achievements/trophies is pretty damn easy. It's actually a bit of a let down for me since I go for all of them. True 100% might take awhile. I've got 200 hours in and a little over 90% of the personality/bucket list items completed. If you're going for true 100%, it's at least going to be much more enjoyable to do it than Ishin Remaster. Getting some of the weapons from sicko snap though is brutal. at least it's kind of fun.
Yeah, true 100% is going to be long if only for Dondoko Island RNG though the farm really helps in that respect due to just how much is on it in close proximity. Sicko Snap grind was just boring, not that bad, Sujimon Stadium is like two hours of mashing X while ignoring what's happening on the screen, and Craze Eats is like two or three hours of running the same route over and over.
67% on Ichiban's list (Admittedly most of what's left is just eating everywhere and killing X amount of enemies, I've done basically everything else), 200/200 Buddies on Aloha Links, all substories up to this point, romances, Eric's bond completed, all minigame shops bought out in Hawaii and Yokohama barring poker's most expensive item with anything used in crafting purchased twice so I could own a copy of it, and I'm currently trying to 5* Dondoko Island. I've done the Hawaiian Haunt dungeon outside of the last level (I was too underleveled and I didn't want to spend hours grinding, I'd rather just progress and do it normally).
I'm two chapters away from the party split which will add a brand new 100% list for Kiryu to do.
This is how many hours I'm at right now. It's probably more than 5 to 100% it without Dondoko Island's Dokopedia and Suggestion Box completed, I'm gonna be straight up about that right now. Those two things would add another 10-30 hours easily because of souvenirs and some of the rarer Dokopedia stuff. You can remove maybe five hours of Sujimon farming since I was trying to get each Sujimon to match their Dossier picture, and like two or three hours of running around selfieing, but otherwise I reload my save any time I waste time at all so I know how much time I've put into it accurately enough.
Ishin (Both) and FotNS 100% are more grindy I would say based on my current experience, but it does have far more boring "Spear Fishing in 6" tier grinds for the minigame items. If you just want the platinum + DLC 100% then it's like 80-120 hours based on multiple people here and really not that bad because you barely have to touch the completion list requirements.
Amon himself doesn't take long iirc, just standard battle grinding. For the game's final substory boss, that one takes a long while because you need a ton of money for one substory to unlock the boss.
A friend accidentally told me spoilers about palekana/bryce which honestly made me more excited than mad because I honestly thought they would end up being pretty cool villains.
Problem is it would have to span over the course of several years and they've never really done that without massive time skips. You'd basically be there for 4, explain why he wasn't around for Amon in 5 in addition to why he fell off from working with Date, then have the story take place around all of 6 trying to stop the arson or something but failing leading to him chasing after people in 7 and 8.
It doesn't actually have to take place over the entire decade, it can take place the current era and explain over flashbacks and stuff like that. You just need something grand enough for him to disappear for so long. It isn't impossible or even that hard if they actually want to try and bring him back into the story.
That's sort of what I mean. Even if you go the flashback route you gotta explain a decent amount. You can start from the end of 6 and move all the way to 8 fairly easily with him helping out Yagami or something with work, but they gotta answer quite a lot and then set up whatever kept him from fighting Someya in 6.
Do the Woodworking and Stoneworking areas only pay out once or do they stack? As in, if I have five of them do I get more than if I had one? Because it seems like three gives me as much as one but maybe I'm just not noticing it. I mean, why have a limit on them if they do so?
>Every romance substory was just Ichi getting raped by either insane or hideous woman >Final payoff is all of them assaulting him when he clearly told them he wasnt interested
That was worse than all of the persona hot springs scenes put together.
>they ran all the content by the western branches to make sure it isn't offensive >the substories where ichiban gets raped and literally victim blamed were left in
what did they mean by this?
>Now that I'm away from my elite parents I can dress however I want like walking around showing my tummy!
What the frick is this bawd smoking, all girls from rich prestigious families are huge bawds with little decency
it's a dragon quest reference to puff-puff girls you meet in the games. it's like putting your face in their breasts iirc correctly. no idea what honk-honk is supposed to be in LAD though, probably just a play on it.
(You) get to dictate the next five or so Yakuza titles. BUT it must be a parallel universe to the current canon with some point of divergence and Kiryu cannot be killed or written out until the end of your allotted premiership. So what do you do, anons?
just finished lad8 so kiryu isnt dying? k good because ebina and that whole speech he did was really underwhelming, ebina is just buff kume but like its lame because they did it in 7 already.
Goromi is best girl
I just finished Yakuzo 0, is this what Goro end up in later games? Man, devs did him dirty.
Yeah him and Kiryu end up as secret lovers it's why the fujos love this series so much
If it makes you feel any better you can beat the shit out of him while he wears that drag
go the frick to /vg/ if you're gonna make this many threads in a row shithead
I love people who come on Ganker and cry when there are a bunch of threads for a new game. 99% of Ganker is shitposting and you're here crying about a thread talking about video games. Get a life little crybaby boo bear b***h manlet!

He's literally the worst character in the series.
but enough talking about Tanimura
Tanimura's forgettable but at least he's not "Umm he was a homeless guy but...one day Kiryu gave him the STRENGTH to keep fighting...so then he became a megatrillionaire richer than any company on Earth also he's a super good fighter and a genius detective and women LOVE him!!"
He's impressively shit.
Palworld has a pal that you can hug and he'll spit fire like a Dragon
Replace the femnoid with Shinada.
You really need to stop asking questions.
I mean they already beat Dwight so it's not like anyone was gonna stop them at that point.
Can't remember where it says it, but I thought that shit at the end of the game was a month after the final fights in the game. That's why Eiji looked like shit. That's also why kiryu looked more worn down going into chemo at the very end was my understanding.
Yeah that's the post credits scene, the part where Ichi carries Eiji to the police station is the exact same moment Kiryu is getting airlifted off the millennium tower.
post chitose feet

nah he looked awesome in lad8, it felt weird seeing gray hair kiryu in his usual suit. I like that cancer slim look of his with the hair and the black shirt.

I just hate the combat because it locks you in and you can't dodge until you're fully done with an attack animation so I would rather tank everything.
It's honestly impressive how much this shits all over IW despite being made in half a year
Was so happy to see clothing customization even if it was limited and them vastly disappointed when I realized it wasn't in IW. In some ways Gaiden was the better game with a more coherent story.
Didn't take 6 months, the script+va work would easily take a year. If they could shit out 2 of these a year the would.
Gaiden sucked.
We clearly didn't play the same game.
gaiden was ass outside of the last hour
the end of this game is some unfiltered non stop cinema but I'm glad Kiryu doesn't die alone
i wish the combat styles were more purposeful rather than having proper style and gimmick style, Like in lost judgment. i also wish substories werent tied to a list where you could only do them off that list. other than that, Fricking awesome game.
Built for BIG YAGAMI wiener
Seriously is there any JAV actress with the same face as her?
Sorry bro but so far Saotome is still the canon girl who got the Yagami bowl
e-girl javs like Kudo Lala are closests that come in mind
e-girl jav
What? and tell me more
It's JAV but the actresses are small, flat, and baby-faced enough to pass as a e-girl if you squint a bit, ignore proportions and that they're obviously significantly larger than a child would be.
I'm just asking for the same face anon, from adult women.
Hoping that you're not jerking to CP.
kana yura maybe?
I hope Amasawa will work for Yagami's agency and be playable in Judgment 3.
>No Saejima and Tanimura
Shit taste
Most importantly Kuze is out of jail, Ryuji is the reason why Shinada even started doing the soapland reviews in the first place, Korean Vergil personally knew Ryuji, etc.
gay. Yakuza is for soibois who don't know what a man is.
When I saw Yamai had not 1 BUT 2 slampigs... I knew he was OURGUY

ONE OF US
He’s going to be Ichiban’s Majima isn’t he.
he turned himself in. i loved yamai and i hope him and eiji are in a party with each other for yakuza 9 or something

Jesus Christ can you imagine going on vacation with Seonghui? What kind of fricked up shit she would do to you to wake you up in time for the hotel breakfast?
was it autism?
frick
Yes. Yes it was
Saeko
For me it's goth Saeko
>smoking
Puke inducing.
I mean Saeko smokes in the game to be fair
Remove eye bags and add breasts.
She is smoking on her introduction sadly, yeah. Could never find her appealing because of it.
man she looked so much uglier in 7, thank god they fixed her in 8
Least cool or elegant way to smoke she looks like an exhaust port
name?
Saeko

I need to see Yamai vs. Majima for kino
Yamai stole the show. they would have been better off just basing the entire thing around him and ending the entire game when he walked out of the hospital room. It's about the only thing they really got right through this whole tangled mess.
Any of the Miss Match's real or is everyone a cat fish?
a few are real. maybe 3? with gravure videos at the end.
yeah 3, an american, japanese, and chinese girl.
What part of 8's story was the first to really take you out? For me it was
>two yakuza trying to regain power go on a vtuber's stream to out and cancel Kiryu
this one is perfectly explainable.
the Truck driver somehow sneaking past the entire party to spy on Kiryu's old gang meeting is another matter
The casino shit in chapter 6
>okay we have to make it big in this little casino
>uhhhhh frick it *random heist montage*
>okay we're in the actual casino, can't wait to see how they make use of this setpiece
>uhhhhhh frick it *Wong warpskips you past his dungeon and into his boss fight*
Does wong have cut content? what the hell was the point of his character other then to reveal who the real big bad is.
him surviving only to die several chapters later in the safehouse was the funniest thing in the game
The flashback cutscene of Kiryu being raped by a barrel of radioactive waste
That was some Star Trek shit.
"10 minutes in a cancer factory made you a fricking pussy!"
>Lani was hiding with Akane somewhere in the middle of the ocean, with only one person in the known giving them occasional supplies
>Oh, ok so let's umm move them back to the middle of the fricking city where there are multiple gangs and palekana hunting for them???
I dont like them.
>finished Infinite Wealth
>RGG burnout setting in
>want to play Lost Judgment because the combat looks fun as hell
>have to put up with Judgment's sluggish combat and 30fps cap on PS5 to get there
Did you mean ps4? Because Lost Judgement can run at 60 fps on ps5
No. The original Judgment is capped at 30fps on PS4/5 and that's the only platform I own it on.
But I played Judgement at 60 fps on ps5? Is it because you own a ps4 copy or some shit? I thought it had a free upgrade. I even double checked and there is video of people playing it at 60 fps on ps5
>Is it because you own a ps4 copy or some shit?
Yup. Remaster isn't free and there's no upgrade path.
>Remaster isn't free and there's no upgrade path.
Ugh sorry bro that frickin sucks, a lot of games did the free upgrade scummy that they didn't
Remaster fricking sucks, don't worry too much about it, you still have the best versiom
Why? This is legit the first time I've seen someone saying this.
last year i played yakuza 3-judgment (release order) within the span of 2 months and i didnt feel an ounce of burnout. However when i got towards the end of LAD8, i was contemplating skipping important dialog pieces because i was just done with the game, and i just didnt care about anything going on with the plot. (last fight was fun though as i was severely underlevelled and had to play it like an smt game with debuffs and buffs). i dont think rgg burnout will impact your enjoyment of judgment/lost judgment as they are more focused and refined games compared to lad8, i havent felt an ounce of burnout back when i played 3-judgment back to back, but now i feel it with lad8, and i havent played any rgg game since gaiden. its strange.
what was the point of making Kaoru reappear
To show us that she's still single and longing for Kiryu so they can get married in the next game.
Yakuza writers are addicted to "remember when"
She was probably thrown in last minute after Yokoyama realized she's a pretty popular character in the west
To make it much clearer that Kiryu REFUSES to frick if it isn't with Yumi's festering maggot-filled c**t
She quite popular with the western crowd and since they only played 0 and kiwami they didn't know about that time the studio erased her from the series for 10 years.
I played Y0 (50%), Y4 (100% but forgotten most of it), LAD7 & 8. Is it worth it continue from 0?
0 and 2 are peak. Highly recommend finishing 0
Chapter 8 feels like what the game should have been all along.
I agree with this, I got to chapter 12 last night and it feels like the game only properly started with chapter 8.
i wish they didnt off rikiya, i liked him even if he was the scrappy doo character
anyway if yakuza 1 was an rpg the ideal party for me would be
kiryu
yuuya
date
reina (just rewrite a bit so she doesnt die or whatever)
the florist
Don't worry he'll be the bartender in LAD9 kek
Why is this guy the bartender at Revolve
I'm just imagining Mine landing on his back like a moron after jumping off the building at the end of Y3 and Richardson only surviving because he used Mine's body as cushioning.
Next we'll find out Rikiya is alive and well in Y9 after getting shot because his heart was on the other side or some shit.
is andre richardson legitimately confirmed to be the revolve bartender>? i know in the english dub he says "ruff" but i just cant be sure.
The last substory (after you finish all the other substories) basically confirms it
For the Lighthouse, I went to someone else's island and saw that people were actually up there when I found out that you can put a house there.
Having a more present and consistent core cast works to Judgment's benefit yeah.
I want rgg to finally end yakuza because I'm so tired of that shit, judgement on other hand has so much potential
j2 was barely above visual novel shit structurally, you just go school-detectives-school-detectives-lawyers-detectives-lawyers-detectives that entire goddamn braindead game.
Still have the most fun combat system from rgg game while nu yakuza are just persona clone
For me, it's Higashi
why is this guy so popular with fujos
>Tsundere
>Damsel in distress
How do you know what fujos are into
based
>Yagami is the weakest characterwise
God I wish we had an actual good MC
>Kiryu games are just memberberries
>Ichi just had a second game and he's already so flanderized he's basically Jesus
>Yagami is a boring frick with no personality
Kaito DLC was kino fricking give me more
It also helps that Kaito's VA has one of the most chad voices of all time.
Y9 has him carrying Adolf out of the bunker so he can turn himself in at the Nuremberg trials
Maybe one with Ryuji or Akiyama or Daigo or even Shishido or better yet Shinada.
its insane how boring yakuzagays are
>bro what about more games with characters that already had their arcs completed?
You homosexuals complain about how "forced" Kiryu's return is, now imagine how "forced" Shinada having a game would be when he has frick all to do with organzied crime or really anything that's ever happened in the series outside of 5.
>m-muh Ryuji! bro that would be sick
Actually die in a fricking fire. You are the kind of homosexuals that make that moronic homosexual Yokoyama bring characters back from the dead for no reason. Ryuji had a perfect ending for his character. Literally frick off for wanting to undo it for some shitty fanservice game.
A shinada game wouldn't be forced especially when he's friends with a bunch of people former technically yakuza members and a loan shark.
Meanwhile with Tanimura it went full "You know I have no idea what happened to him but not keeping in contact with him is my one regret" Tanimura needs it more considering he should've been more important to 6 and onward.
Shinada with only a little help from a loan shark and a pervy old man exposed two whole yakuza families.
I'll never understand people asking for a Shinada game.
I mean yeah, he was cool and I wish we could have seen more of him in 5. But a fricking game just about him? Lmao.
Kiryu was a complete non character in the first 2 games.
is there anything preventing you from farming the sujimon stadium for level boosters? it seems faster than grinding dungeons to level up
If they're not limited, then not really, no. You'll have to farm at least 4 to level everyone on your main team equally though, unless you're planning to just powerlevel Ichiban for the level 70 achievement.
I just found that you can only buy one
Kiryu crying over Ebina that heavily is so moronic.
>what about rikiya?
Rikiya was his best friend in yakuza 3 frick you Black person.
Rikiya becoming Kiryu's best friend is one of the most forced things in the entire fricking series
Kiryu having damn near no reaction to Kashiwagi "dying" in the same game he ugly cries over some moron he met only a few weeks ago rubbed me the wrong way
The same moron gave his life for him though
Yes, after Kiryu specifically told him not to do anything. Rikiya was honestly so dumb that it's hard to feel bad for him.
Rikiya was only there to tard wrangle the mute
?si=a9INbMOxSFGOdZnS
Best Jojo song and nice pits!
I liked saeko in 7 but she really gets mogged by seonhee and chitose. Worst girl this time around
i cant get into seonhee.
Yamai kidnaps (fat) Hana and Akiyama is forced to spring into action

lmao discount nanba is literally the most boring motherfricker in the game
Enter
I like him but literally forget he's not Nanba at some points
Very rude.
Tomizawa is the best new character in LAD 8.
His name is Eric
Is he modeled after a real life actor? If he is then there's a 99% chance he won't be coming back at all.
modeled after and voiced by the keyboardist from the band king gnu
he looks more homeless than nanba
tomizawa is nanba but without the moronic brother subplot, so i didnt hold any ill will towards him.
have you heard pal?
I have
I just got the fire bat for completing the Sujimon league, and right after unlocked Job Changing in the main story. Changing Kasuga's job now would be a waste right?
No, you get like 10 better bats just by finding and upgrading them.
RGG managed to make Kiryu so interesting in this game to me. I really need another Kiryu game with brawler combat and friends now. Daigo, Saejima, Majima, Kaoru, Akiyama, maybe someone from Okinawa. I'm ready for it.
As for the story:
Everything was pretty good but the antagonists were weak and the motives were paper thin.
This game's story went to shit the exact moment Kiryu went to Japan and the parties split.
One guy here started it at like 56 and was fine. Most people go into it after all the dungeons so you end up around 70.
Yo Black person how's the 100% grind compared to the new Ishin. I did that one but this one looks like it has even more shit to do at first glance.
not him but 100% for achievements/trophies is pretty damn easy.
THIS AIN'T A SHOW SHITHEAD
I'M GONNA SUE YOU
shoutouts to kirara asuka, the ultimate bimbo of all bimbos
her in-game model in kiwami 2 is pretty damn good considering all the other ones are mid/decent at best (AIKA's being the absolute worst)
>Date-san & helicopters
Sides in orbit
there's an alternate universe where we get "Like a Hostess" instead of Gaiden
how grindy is fotns for the amon? i did a run of just basic hard mode
Amon himself doesn't take long iirc, just standard battle grinding. For the game's final substory boss, that one takes a long while because you need a ton of money for one substory to unlock the boss.
The greatest love story ever told.
>went straight for the opiates for her first date gift
dangerously based
A friend accidentally told me spoilers about palekana/bryce which honestly made me more excited than mad because I honestly thought they would end up being pretty cool villains.
After Kiwami and how bad both Kashowago treated Nishiki it was hard for me to care about his "death" on Y3. Same with Kazama
You can start from the end of 6 and move all the way to 8 fairly easily with him helping out Yagami or something with work, but they gotta answer quite a lot and then set up whatever kept him from fighting Someya in 6.
he died in the fire saving grandpa Zhao, this is why y6 starts with showing his restaurant specifically falling apart
I want a game about female Yakuza that beat each other up and there’s a Host Club management minigame.
So Black Panther except with sukeban girls?
oi
Is there an internal base damage for skills? Or are they literally 4 levels of strength with light, medium, heavy, and extreme?
>Ichiban ends up in 1945
>he forgives Hitler
Honolulu Lights is such a banger
so sad that we will never see Cheetos again, I hope we get another raburaibu seiyuu in the next game
something very addicting about the cabaret mini game
First time?
you telling me joongi could hack government satellites but couldnt dox tatara hisoka?
>tatara hisoka
Behind seven layers of VPN, please understand.
Vtuber security too strong for Korean hackers
They were incognito mode
Do the Woodworking and Stoneworking areas only pay out once or do they stack? As in, if I have five of them do I get more than if I had one? Because it seems like three gives me as much as one but maybe I'm just not noticing it. I mean, why have a limit on them if they do so?
They all stack, yes. I believe you get 130 wood and stone per day if you have all 5 out + the 3 all-source bins.
Yes, they do stack. Have fun dedicating an entire section of your island to ugly trash piles.
what if the next game has a party that consists of entirely women so you can finally beat up women in a ygg game
Just finished Ichis part of the finale, why did it all feel so half baked?
At least Masato had the excuse of thinking you were dead when he monologued.
It felt that way because this is Kiryu's game, Ichi is just a side character disguised as a dual protagonist.
I dont understand. 7 sold so well and proved ichi was fine standing on his own? Why go back on it?
yokoyama sometimes makes femoid-like (halfbaked) decisions due to being fudanshi
Is the Big Swell good?
Only if you like seeing number go up since it's just another dungeon. You can watch the neat little cutscenes with the entire crew on youtube.
LEA
>Every romance substory was just Ichi getting raped by either insane or hideous woman
>Final payoff is all of them assaulting him when he clearly told them he wasnt interested
That was worse than all of the persona hot springs scenes put together.
>they ran all the content by the western branches to make sure it isn't offensive
>the substories where ichiban gets raped and literally victim blamed were left in
what did they mean by this?
At least you get 5 Defense
Hot and Steamy Kiryu-Haruka Yukata SEX!!!
Does Yagami stand a chance against cancer Kiryu in a fight?
This is the best box art in the series
Ichiban must be using some beta design here because he doesn't look like Ichiban
>face blind moron
Nice argument
unfortunately
>sex
>Smiling Kiryu
you can make him smile anytime ingame with the selfie feature
>Now that I'm away from my elite parents I can dress however I want like walking around showing my tummy!
What the frick is this bawd smoking, all girls from rich prestigious families are huge bawds with little decency
She also flaunts her bare feet in a hotel room full of men she just met at a homeless encampment.
what the frick does "getting honked" mean???
Was wondering this myself.
it's a dragon quest reference to puff-puff girls you meet in the games. it's like putting your face in their breasts iirc correctly. no idea what honk-honk is supposed to be in LAD though, probably just a play on it.
Ladies you are looking good tonight!!
Then just walk away
Yeah, I still got the moves
Seonhee needs a string bikini and Cheetos needs a one-piece.
Luffy
Good evening ladies, they call me the Dragon of PLAPjima
woah
he's literally us
He is me specifically
This was a cool cutscene.
I can’t even remember what game this was from.
8. It's when Arakawa tortures his boss in chapter 1 or 2.
Ah yeah that’s right. I’m on chapter 8 right now and I’ve been doing all the side content so that cutscene feels like it was a million years ago.
(You) get to dictate the next five or so Yakuza titles. BUT it must be a parallel universe to the current canon with some point of divergence and Kiryu cannot be killed or written out until the end of your allotted premiership. So what do you do, anons?
Segagaga remake with Ichiban on Yakuza engine?
Its soon gonna be 2025 soon
just finished lad8 so kiryu isnt dying? k good because ebina and that whole speech he did was really underwhelming, ebina is just buff kume but like its lame because they did it in 7 already.
Who the frick are those people besides Kiryu? I have only played Zero, don't know if that matters.
