Three weeks lads, until John Yakuza returns lads. What do we think of the new trailer lads? Seems a bit spoilery lads, but I'm not even mad lads.

I can't wait :>
I tried playing the jp version with a guide years ago but it wasn't a fun experience, super happy we are finally getting a western release
I played the JP demo some years back and got to the karaoke bar and Samurai Ondo has been my favorite Yakuza song ever since
for me, its ijizakura
You're both wrong
It's going to be a very different experience considering all the things they're adding and changing
Not saying I'm not hyped though, just that it's not the same Ishin
the story is probably the weakest part, less due to being actually bad but more due to how fast character show up and leave the story. shibusawa replacing the final boss’s model is already a massive spoiler because every 0gay is going to immediately assume that he’s the final boss when wondering who it could be is meant to be one of the main mysteries of the game
>OG Kiryu skin is only in the Deluxe Edition
Also you watch this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgp2YVaCnJg
>Also you watch this?
no.
Watch this better Riki Takeuchi video.
>lads
Leave.
Sorry, m'lady. Didn't mean to be exclusive.
>lads
>like a dragon sisters
what's the problem with it?
>using that many "lads" in single fricking paragraph
you'll never be british, ESL shitskin.
Way to out yourself as a toothless brit
you guys think kenzan will also get a western release after ishin?
God I hope so. Even if they have to make changes like maybe swap Haruka out for her adult model, I really wanna have the whole franchise available on current systems, fully localized
they already said that so much would need to be changed that they might as well make a new game
Well if Ishin does well, I guess that would be the motivation they need to remake Kenzan
I'm essentially translating the entirety of Kenzan anyways so you'll be able to play it on RPCS3 or actual ps3 if you want. All that I have left are the rest of the weapons, materials, and item names. It's taking a long time though. I should be done by this weekend. Everything you need will be in this guide. Patrick's was incomplete.
Your target consumer base is very tiny, you realize that, yes?
Yes. I really really really like the era of japan that Kenzan takes place in though.
The only other thing I can think you might want to do is put a disclaimer in the Iroha Karuta and yuujo parts where you need to know at least Hiragana to complete them. It's simply not possible without knowing it because you are forced on one or two of them to do it to level up the yuujos and I don't recall being able to get one of the other yuujo minigames. You also can't BS it because it's something like 48 cards to randomly choose from and you need to win a "Best of" against an AI that cheats with incorrect guesses counting as a point for the AI if I remember right.
Which just made me realize that if you only speak English Amon is unreachable.
>What do we think of the new trailer lads?
It spoils the first two chapters in less than a minute, not really a good thing to watch unless you want the first two or three hours of the game spoiled. The rest of it is fine to watch since it's a bunch of cutscenes from all around the game spliced together.
Realistically how much of Kenzan would need to be changed to appease western politics? Like a rough percentage.
They don't really need to change much, they would just need to completely force the dictionary definition of a kamuro to pop up during gameplay with a delay before it can be closed and maybe add a few lines outright stating only the older women are prostitutes having sex while the younger girls are waitresses. That's really it outside of maybe two small bits during the story needing to be reworked and that's still a "maybe".
It's just a normal Yakuza game but set in the 1800s with four separate styles (Wild Dance which is a sword/gun style, Pistol, Unarmed, and 1kat). Imagine playing a mainline game but with weapons only. That's what it's like. Unarmed is the weakest style of the four.
Can't they just put a huge screen when you first start Kenzan, where it says "THIS GAME IS SET IN A CERTAIN TIME PERIOD BLA BLA BLA HARUKA IS NOT A prostitute, SHE IS A WAITRESS, BLA BLA PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT THINGS WERE DIFFERENT BACK THEN AND DON'T REFLECT CURRENT DAY VALUES AND POLITICS BLA BLA" and then it's fine?
>HARUKA IS NOT A prostitute
What are you implying, ojisan?
disgusting don't post lad shit in a yakuza thread
this is a Like a Dragon Ishin thread...
he has you there anon
is Ichiban's t-shirt modded or vanilla?
lmao
Modded but I think it's part of that Definitive Edition mod since I don't recall ever seeing it standalone.
thanks I definitely know what mod I'm getting if I get around to playing it
You could add that but it's no guarantee anyone pays attention to it and still gets up in arms. Forcing the dictionary prompt to open up when it's first mentioned in gameplay with a delay before you can close it (This stops once you make a save after you've first seen it) should probably be enough because it forces you to read it since you're already engaged in the scene whereas a disclaimer is just whatever.
Assassin's Creed itself tries to avoid topics like that entirely even despite having disclaimers about things. I don't think I've ever seen a kid in an AC game that isn't just acting like a modern day kid messing around or in some sort of school setting studying except in Syndicate where they were working in sweatshops as a way to free them from that.
They can't release Kenzan in the west, it's not just the definition of kamuro. Some scenes are too controversial, westerners can't accept it.
They absolutely can, and reworking the one scene that could be considered controversial would be extremely easy by just having Musashi eavesdropping like he did except the old guy tries forcing himself onto Yoshino instead of Haruka.
Even if you're gonna argue the Haruka waiting to marry Musashi until she's of age line would cause a whole "omg Musashi is grooming Haruka!" issue then just don't have her say that. You can literally keep the "I like working at the Tsuruya" line and nothing changes in the story.
Western people call a 35 year old man dating a 25 year old woman grooming these days, your brain is rotted by this website if you think the general public won't consider Kenzan controversial.
I'm literally saying just remove the very few lines that imply any of that. Nothing in the story changes by removing them.
Is there any english translation for Kenzan available?
Also i remember like 1 or 2 years ago when i asked you advice for 0 and here i am now with only Kaito files to finish and being done with the whole series available to PC until now. What a ride this was. I presume Kenzan and Dead Souls are the only ones left. Are the psp one and FOTNS one considered as part of the series?
FOTNS Lost Paradise runs on the same engine that powered Yakuza 5, 0 and Kiwami 1. Highly recommend it cause it takes the whole Yakuza formula and puts it in a new setting and story. If you love Yakuza, you'll definitely enjoy FOTNSLP.
YES! Too bad it never got a pc release but that game was pretty good. Only meh part was the driving but the fightan is top tier
>Is there any english translation for Kenzan available?
It's a full story translation including side dialogue.
Substories and the like are not translated.
You have to use ThePatrick's guide for substories and side content but still need Japanese guides for sword crafting and yuujos currently. A guy here is restructuring the ThePatrick's guide to be usable by having Japanese terms and words for much easier work but that'll take him a while.
https://www.moddb.com/mods/yakuza-kenzan-translation-mod
There's also a menu patch out but that's about it.
>Are the psp one and FOTNS one considered as part of the series?
Yes to all three. BP1 and BP2 are basically side stories the mainline don't reference but it's in the same continuity. FotNS may or may not be the same continuity because of a few things that happen in it but you can consider them Easter Eggs more than anything.
>The story would break if you remove all mentions of it
It wouldn't. She only implies that she loves Musashi when talking to Ieyasu in one single bit of dialogue where she outright says she loves working at the Tsuruya and will work there until she grows up to marry Musashi.
Like I said, you can work around the kamuro issue fairly easily it just requires work by explaining what a kamuro is outright because a westerner going into the game thinks all geisha are prostitutes getting railed daily and have no idea what a kamuro is. Or just age up Haruka to Y6 level, there is nothing story-wise locking her to being 12ish because she only finds out about her heritage because of Musashi.
Why would she only work there as a waitress if she was aged up to Y6 Haruka? The story breaks.
If she was aged up then she's a prostitute instead, what's the issue? The entire reason she sells herself is just to get enough money to pay Musashi to go kill himself. She just had her family killed a couple days prior and has nothing to her name so that doesn't break anything in the story. Her being the age she is changes nothing in the story and you can even keep the old man trying to assault her with even less of an issue.
>ACH JA, IF SHE WAS AGED AUF ZEN SHE'S EIN PROSTITUIERTE INSTEAD, WAS IST ZE ISSUE? ZE ENTIRE REASONS HE SELLS HERSELF IST JUST ZU GET ENOUGH MONEY ZU PAY MUSCHI ZU GO KILL HIMSELF. SHE JUST HAD HER FAMILIE KILLED EIN KOUPLE DAYS PRIOR UND HAS NOZING ZU HER NAME SO ZAT DOESN'T BREAK ANYZING IN ZE STORY. HER BEING ZE AGE SHE IST CHANGES NOZING IN ZE STORY UND DU CAN EVEN KEEP ZE OLD MANN TRYING ZU ASSAULT HER WIZ EVEN LESS AUF EIN ISSUE.
Are you having an episode?
The story would break if you remove all mentions of it and I don't think Haruka not working actively means anything since she still sold herself to Tsuruya with the expectation that she eventually would have had to work there which is controversial enough.
Just replace young Haruka with slightly older Y6 Haruka, problem solved
Is the game being remade to behave like Judgement or shitty Yakuza?
Like a Dragon Ishin is a remake of the original PS3/4 title, but this time it's in Unreal Engine 4. Gameplay is identical to the OG PS3/4 release except there is now cards with special effects during combat.
It's Yakuza but in old timey Japan yes. Kiryu wields a katana, a gun, and magical cards with boosts.
Is this game like other Yakuza games but in old japan or is it more action oriented?
It has punching, swordfight and saint of glock styles, take a guess
what do you mean by action oriented? it's a yakuza game not something like dmc if that's what you mean.
Some of the weirdest homoporn pairs are about to erupt from this.
Official play order:
>Yakuza 0>1>2>3>4>5>6
>Like a Dragon>Like a Dragon Ishin>Like a Dragon Gaiden
>Judgment>Lost Judgment
Shut up moose.
I'm still on Kiwami 2 so it will be awhile before I play Ishin.
You can play Ishin whenever since it's non-canon.
But if I wait until after I play all the other games I can purchase it on sale.
Judgment is on sale almost every month but Ishin yeah ok, I guess you could wait for a sale
I'm still waiting for the Judgments to get a good sale on PC. I'm hoping they're cheaper during the Steam Spring sale.
Ishin and Judgment 1 you can play whenever.
same, I just finished all the sub stories so I'll just finish up the main story + majima saga afterwards
after that I dunno if I'm gonna jump right into 3 or wait to cleanse my palette. I still have a shitton of other games in my backlog but I've been really loving the yakuza series so far, so I might continue my marathon.
Personally I'm going to take a break and play something else before Yakuza 3.
i don’t think
can someone tell me what moose said in one or two sentences?
BP1, BP2 and FotNS should be played, yes there is an English translation for Kenzan. And Haruka is a prostitute.
OJISAN!!!!!!!
>Sayonara, ojisan!
>I should've done this years ago
I’ll just wait for the translation patch to come out since this looks worse than the original
>worse
Are you on crack, my girl?
>MUH graphix look better!!
moron
/v/: we fear change
I mean yes. That's the point.
Yeah it looks like it’s going to be worse, sister
Between them fricking up the combat, replacing the characters, censoring shit, and the awful UE, it looks to be a worse game
>fricking up the combat
they made the combat faster
>replacing the characters
they were good changes
>censoring shit
mainly gay shit
>awful UE
looks better than y5's engine
>looks better than y5's engine
>UE4 looks better than an 11 year old engine
Wooooooooooooow
Faster how?
Because you can spam dragon ball lasers now?
They fricked up bosses by giving them and it’s incredibly out of place for them to be doing that
The fighting styles all seem to have a speed boost to them.
>They fricked up bosses by giving them and it's incredibly out of place for them to be doing that
As if this series has always been about realism when you have a giant golden castle coming out of the ground in Y2 or Majima creating shadow clones in Y5.
>The fighting styles all seem to have a speed boost to them.
The only style that looks like it has a boost is Pistol and we don't even know the intricacies of that yet because it looks like they nerfed Pistol by forcing it not to be able to move with R1 which doubled its firing rate. As far as I could tell Wild Dance looks exactly the same speed as do Unarmed and 1kat.
Nah, brawler style definitely looked faster in the latest trailer.
You're right, it is a bit faster when comparing the two. It looks like they sped up the transition from the first punch to the second punch, everything else looks the same. Here's a comparison video, both are 30 FPS source videos so there's no offsetting because of that.
Wild Dance and 1kat looked the same speed to me but maybe I should compare them. I just know Pistol is faster because I used the Hayate for a while and I know what Speed and Blink firing speeds look like and the Hayate was faster than Blink in the Chinese demo footage.
It’s not just about realism, it’s about making the fights worse
We’ve already seen Izo spam the move in one of his fights while shit like majimas clones happen once
>boohoo ishin nishiki keeps doing the same big purple swirl over and over
skill issue
Spamming shit like that’s makes fights more annoying and easier, you idiot
Ah yes, getting a new super move that the original Izo didn't have makes the fight easier.
Except he stands still for 2+ seconds casting it and even if you're right next to him you can dodge it. Meaning he's completely open and free to hit while he whiffs his attack. It genuinely does make the fight easier on him at least and in the Tokugawa fight it also gave you free time to run up to him and his him either.
Yes, it makes the fight easier when he spams it, you idiot
He misses it you punish easily because it’s reactable and expected
So if it's easier to dodge then how is the fight more annoying? Make up your minds, idiots.
Something can be easier and more annoying
If he spans it you know it’s coming, but that doesn’t change the fact that the attack itself could have an annoyingly large range or avoid it in an annoying way.
If that frick with his big laser can’t b interrupted while he uses it, then it’ll be fricking annoying to fight and not actually difficult.
You're really grasping at straws here.
Don’t reply if you’ve got nothing to say
Sure is peaceful here.
If something is easier then it's not more annoying. If something is annoying then it wasn't easy in the first place.
LADGTMWEHN
Something can be easy and annoying
7’s combat is easy, but the terrible path finding makes things annoying without making it more difficult
Those are 2 different things.
>7's combat is easy and not annoying
>7's path finding is annoying and not easy
Your comment makes no sense considering the path finding doesn’t have any impact on the difficulty. It just makes things more annoying since it looks jank as frick and shits on the pacing.
I feel like you’re pulling my leg, so I’m not going to bother replying to you anymore.
>they were good changes
They're not in any way good changes outside of Kuze who actually fits who he is replacing. Keep in mind that every character that is being replaced more or less acts exactly like their mainline counterpart meaning Kuze will act like Hamazaki, Zhao will act like Baba, Awano will now act like Hayashi but a bit gayer, Masato will act like Aoyama, etc.
Two of the changes spoil two separate twists that the game spends multiple hours setting up. Not to mention they both got rid of unique characters only found in Ishin itself, and Oryo being replaced for Yuki is another OC only found in Ishin gone.
Mabuchi and Zhao stick out like a sore thumb because of their modern day haircuts.
Han directly causes an issue because he's a K-pop looking guy working as an undercover agent which is laughable with his pure white hair. He'd be someone you notice from a mile away even with the hood in that time period.
*ahem*
FRICK BABA
FRICK HAYASHI
FRICK AOYAMA
FRICK ANY OTHER UNMEMORABLE Y5 CHARACTERS
FRICK THE OG UGLY ASS ORYO
>Not to mention they both got rid of unique characters only found in Ishin itself
Who cares about that literal who when Adachi is simply better.
>Mabuchi and Zhao stick out like a sore thumb because of their modern day haircuts
But Ryuji gets a pass?
I'll give you Han and Shibusawa but at the end of the day I'm treating this game like Yakuza characters in a huge historical play.
>But Ryuji gets a pass?
Ryuji is specifically addressed as having golden hair and discriminated against.
Adachi replacing him IS worse because like with Shibusawa it makes the final boss twist even more obvious
The twist is only obvious if you played the game already or you spoiled yourself on youtube cutscenes.
No, the twists are obvious because Adachi is a good guy in 7 and Shibusawa is a bad guy in 0. Everyone on both sides is the exact same personality-wise as their mainline counterparts. Mine is literally the only exception out of every single character in the original game who acts slightly differently to how he did in 3.
When you are going into the game you are outright expecting Mine to be an antagonist which is why when they reveal he's actually on Kondo's side it's a twist because everyone else but him was acting identical to their mainline personality the entire game. Baba even acts exactly like he does with Saejima the entire time before the betrayal and after.
Nobody going into the game blind is going to know all of that until it happens.
Except you already realize it within the first few chapters when Kazama acts the same, Izo acts the same, Ryuji acts the same, Florist acts the same, Akiyama acts the same, and literally every single person at the Shinsengumi acts the same.
None of this requires future knowledge of the game at all, the game is designed to play off of your expectations of the previous games and even acts on it constantly. As soon as you reach the Shinsengumi and have Aizawa acting like Aizawa that should be the tipping point where you realize everyone is identical.
Ishin Aizawa acts nothing like 5 Aizawa because he actually has a character in Ishin.
His mannerisms and attitude are the exact same and saying he didn't have a character in 5 puts down his interaction with Saejima.
Same as in Kenzan: informants.
The character changes still don't ruin the story like you keep saying it is. If it does then the story would already be ruined when OG Ishin released because the OG characters have the same personalities like you said but people still praise the game. Most people are playing this for the first time so their experience should be good as when people played the OG Ishin for the first time.
>If it does then the story would already be ruined when OG Ishin released
How does this make any sense to you? The story specifically plays around Kondo, Takechi, and Oryo as the focal points because you had no idea what they were doing and had no baseline to work with so you had no expectations there because they were OC characters. It uses Hamazaki, Aizawa, Hayashi, Yahata, and Kugihara in ways that make you suspect them of being the killer and then upends that by making them antagonists for different reasons once
the killer is killed offscreen in chapter 6. It then continues to use them as villains who act virtually identical to how they did in 3, 4, and 5.
>The story specifically plays around Kondo, Takechi, and Oryo as the focal points
New players wouldn't know that.
Which isn't the point at all. The point is that when they see Shibusawa as Takechi they will immediately think "This guy might be a villain" whereas when you play Ishin you see Takechi and have no opinion on him because he's new. Next you will meet Izo who acts exactly like Nishiki in 1 which will very likely make you go "Huh, he's the same". Then you meet Kazama who acts identical to Kazama. Then after that you will meet not-Park (Who acts stuck up like Park) and Oryo (Who at this point acts pleasant which Yuki wouldn't change at all and you get the same expectation regardless.) Then you meet Katsura who acts identical to Akiyama, then Florist who acts identical to Florist, and then Saigo who acts identical to Ryuji. The alarm bells should be screaming at this point that everyone is the same and by the time you get to the Shinsengumi everyone, Okita, Hijikata, and Nagakura included all act like their counterparts.
You want to know why I think this? Because I went into OG Ishin blind with no knowledge of any of the story, just previous games, and that was my exact experience with the game.
>everybody thinks like me
No, everybody doesn't think like me. But if you somehow played every Yakuza game up until that point and don't notice that Majima acts like Majima, Akiyama acts like Akiyama, Saejima acts like Saejima, Nishiki acts like Nishiki, and so on then I have to question if you're paying attention to the story or characters at all.
I don't. Fists go pow pow blam ahahaha
Unironically how I played Elden Ring
Not everyone has the same elitist mindset as you. There are way more casuals that don't play the yakuza games back to back and remember every character like hardcore players do.
>and remember every character
It doesn't matter if you don't remember every character. If you even remember some characters and make that distinction then the entire story falls apart because the twists it's trying to make are spoiled in advance thanks to the new changes when this wasn't an issue at all with the original version. This is solely an issue introduced because of the new model changes. They change how the story is meant to be experienced and how the story plays on your previous expectations.
I played Yakuza 0 five years ago and if you didn't point out to me who the last boss was, I literally would not have recognized him in Ishin.
No it does not because everyone experiences everything differently in their own way. Just because you experienced something doesn't mean everyone else will react the same way you did.
>because everyone experiences everything differently in their own way
Yes, they do, and I'm explaining why these changes specifically cause issues that didn't exist in the OG which is why it's bad to have made them in the first place.
If you do remember any of these things then the story falls apart because now you have expectations you're not supposed to have going into the story. If you don't remember these things at all when seeing characters or haven't played these games then the story is fine because you will experience it more or less as intended.
With the original whether you had expectations or not the experience is identical across both sides because whether you have information on characters or not nothing changes in terms of the story. The people with experience actually get a better experience because
of the Mine twist but that doesn't take away from people who don't remember these things.
There is no benefit to the character changes, it's all downsides. It's bad on the story front, it's bad from a character perspective because now you have characters not acting how they're supposed to, and it's bad from a content perspective because we're losing completely unique characters and performances that were only found in that one game. Granted, you gain new performances but those characters existed in other games.
It's a spinoff, it's ok if characters act different, jesus christ, it's not even canon. It's a nice bonus game without the baggage from the main series.
>nooo it’s not canon stop criticising it
Moose is complaining that characters won't act like in the main canon. When it's a totally different setting and story and time period. So who cares
But the point is that they fit in line with their main canon appearances in the original, so it’s a valid complaint.
It’s a fan service game and this was a part of why.
>it's ok if characters act different
How are you not getting this when I keep saying it over and over? They. Don't. Act. Different. In. The. Original. None of them do. They're not supposed to. They're not intended to act different and the one time they do it's meant to be a twist. The Ishin characters are supposed to be 1:1 their mainline personalities. The story doesn't want them acting different and literally plays on the fact they're identical.
They're carbon copies of their mainline personalities which is the entire point because it's supposed to be a "What if we took these characters and put them into the past" deal. They all act like the main canon, the only difference is that a couple of the Shinsengumi members will be acting differently because of who they replaced which, again, isn't supposed to happen.
Weapon and Gun kits are completely worthless. What they're giving you saves like 10-20 minutes of Battle Dungeon at most and you can buy about 99% of it from generic stores/friendships.
Cannon/Sword pack is worthless, you won't use either unless you're speedrunning and then the sword is only useful there.
So it's basically $10 for the Kiryu skin and free Battle Dungeon cheat cards.
>NOOOO THEY'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO ACT DIFFERENT I WANT MY SHITTY Y5 CHARACTERS BACK BECAUSE THEY FULFILLED THEIR BORING ROLES BETTER
Defeatist post
Moosewienersucker post
You got btfo by a fricking tripgay of all people
Take it like a man
>btfo
He is fricking autistic giving shitty reasons why the story is ruined because of replaced characters and you are slurping his wiener like no tomorrow.
>characters in the original were made to match their mainline appearances
>change characters in the remake, which misses the point of the game as they no longer match up with the original
>”NOOOOOO, STOP CRITICISING MY REMAKE, YOU’RE AUTISTIC!!!!”
Take the L
>*slurp* *slurp* slurp*
I don’t need to know that you’re slurping in your own wiener, since you already showed that you were a while ago
Nice comeback, did moose give it to you while you were choking on his pecker?
You should focus more on taking the wiener out of your mouth instead of typing up replies, my friend
After you take moose's wiener out your mouth first.
Again, how are you missing what I'm saying this hard? I'm saying that the fact they act different at all is the antithesis to how the game is written and structured. The game is literally designed around the fact that you go "Hey, I know that guy!" over and over and over again.
The fact that you even have a chance to know anything about Takechi or Kondo is the antithesis to the story's major twists that Takechi is actually evil and Kondo wasn't behind the assassination at all and was actually a good guy. They even spend like five chapters making sure you think the opposite of the latter and have multiple npcs constantly throw you red herrings to solidify that thought.
How are these not negatives? Because you specifically wouldn't notice them? Okay? But what about the people who do? and what about the fact that this wasn't an issue at all in the original game and is only an issue that can happen in Kiwami?
Keep having a stick up your ass. I for one will still enjoy the story and I know many others excited to play for the first time will too.
Your autism is good for knowledge but it's plain to see you cannot relate to other people
People who don’t pay attention don’t count
This is a fan service game which plays on fan expectations, so these changes spoil things for fans who pay attention
It's a fun samurai spinoff. If you don't recognize anyone, it doesn't matter. If you do, cool, nice bonus.
>Florist
what kind of role does he play when most of his power his propped up by modern tech
mabuchi and zhao don't even look that out of place. mabuchi and kashiwagi even have similar hairstyles
the one thing I hate about it is UE
FOR WHAT PURPOSE did they go for that instead of their inhouse engine?! does no one there know how to code in the old engine?
I recall some interview where they basically said they wanted to try it out, and use that experience as a basis to decide if they'd keep upgrading the Dragon Engine or stick to UE.
I hope they keep upgrading the Dragon Engine. UE4 isn't really blowing my mind here.
I hope too. Unreal Engine runs like shit and looks like shit.
I think the game looks fine, but I'll miss Dragon Engine's ragdolls. Lost Judgment combat is the best in the series, and Ishin is probably going to feel like a step backwards.
>stick to UE
Hypothetically...
>things go smoothly according to RGG Studio
>they ditch all in-house engines
>all future RGG titles are now in UE 4
Would (You) keep supporting the franchise?
>Would (You) keep supporting the franchise?
Yes, I like their games.
More likely, they would use UE5 for LAD9, if it came to that.
>FOR WHAT PURPOSE did they go for that instead of their inhouse engine?
Because it's good, simple as it
>SEGA HIRE THIS MAN tier graphics
Lmao, do you even know which engine the original fricking ran on you moron
The old Ishin was made to run on PS3. This remake looks far better. Gameplay is identical. If you hate the cards, just don't use them
That doesn’t stop the bosses from using them, fix any of the other issues, or excuse the greedy practices
Also lol denuvo
Your shilling won’t work on me
>denuvo
This is a PlayStation franchise. Unless stated otherwise, I assume people discussing these games are on PS4/5, seeing as how this series only came to PC very recently.
This series has been on PC since 2018
I’ve also been playing those before that and refuse to buy this shitty demake on PS4 since it’ll run worse than the original
>series on PlayStation for 18 years
>only came to PC very recently
>b-buuut it's been on PC for 5 years
Yes, very recently. The majority of Yakuza players are PlayStation gamers.
I’m not getting it in PS4 if I decide to buy it
Also frick buying a nogames station 5
Ok but normal people don't care since they play most multiplatform on pc and ps
Xbox has even less
It's still a PS series. Started there, has the biggest following there, sold the most copies there.
Why does it looks so horrible off compared to Y6,7 or Judgement. Even Yakuza 0 has better lighting.
It's because Ishin runs on Unreal Engine 4, whereas Y6, 7 and both Judgments ran on Dragon Engine.
Unreal engine really went from a awesome thing to shit after 2.
2.5 was peak
Im going to get it for cheap in a sale like I did with the whole collection even 7 and lost judgement
Why do people freak out when Haruka is in sexual situations, working in a brothel, getting pregnant, giving birth to babies or kissing and making out passionately? I don't get it.
Because RGG proves us wrong every time we think Haruka can't get any more moronic.
censored game
what is censored specifically?
Mainly homosexual shit. So only the gay gays are outraged.
So why is that Anon complaining?
Because they're a gay gay of course.
We already know they're censoring Hayashi (Awano in Kiwami) being implied to haze/do gay stuff to his men (Picture related) which means one of the later chapters is going to have to very likely be changed since it's all about Hayashi kidnapping Hana, murdering a bunch of people, and then going on a rant about how he's gay, doesn't find women attractive, and wants Baba to exchange himself for Hana because he wants Baba's boy hole.
Basically, they're changing it to not offend people.
>removing gay stuff
Pretty based censorship, not gonna lie. This is really great.
>b-based they should get rid of all g-gay content that's problematic because i hate gays
you are becoming what you fear
i dont like homosexualshit anyway so this is a plus actually
the stuff that implies he's gay is still in the game, dont know about the other part
I was a tester, I know
A certain rapey gay is now a good boy because they can't do nothing wrong.
What he mean by this?
what is this from, 5?

I can't wait for gaijin to discover that Isshin is boring as shit and almost as bad as Dead Souls
The only fairly boring thing about it is the main story which is all over the place and abruptly ends plotlines that were on going with no fanfare or in the background. The substories are pretty good, the combat is a lot of fun even if it's unbalanced on one style, the minigames outside of fan dancing are fine, and if you're just messing around it has a bunch of content without any real grind.
What exactly did you dislike that you consider it "almost as bad as Dead Souls"? Also, why are you calling it "Isshin", this isn't Sekiro, it's not even called that on the Japanese box.
but what's LADGTMWEHN's combat gonna be like? It's coming out this year, but no actual combat gameplay yet?
I don’t get how you people don’t get bored when spamming shit like this every thread in an attempt to force a meme
Also don’t reply to me, i know what your reply will look like so I won’t bother reading it
What do you mean exactly? It's a real game. It was officially announced. There is even a trailer. And I'm curious why there is no official word on the combat yet.
Proof: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fxkn-dcy01k
>there is no official word on the combat yet
They said it was going to be a brawler so expect something like Kaito Files.
Just call it Gaiden, brother.
Yakuza 6: The Song of Life, the game is Yakuza 6 and the subtitle is The Song of Life. Just like this is Like a Dragon Gaiden and the subtitle is The Man Who Erased His Name.
I frequently refer to MGS3 as simply Snake Eater and MGSPW as simply Peace Walker. I call Uncharted 2 simply Among Thieves. And I shall refer to Like a Dragon Gaiden The Man Who Erased His Name as The Man Who Erased His Name, but since that's a nightmare to type out every time, I go with the shorter LADGTMWEHN
Ah, so you're just trying to make a name for yourself by spamming a shit meme? I see.
>dude just call it Grand Theft Auto, you cannot call it GTAVC
this is you, anon
The sequel to Gaiden will be called Gaiden 2.
You should also call Vice City Vice City.
So according to you, I need to spell our "Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots" every time instead of simply calling it MGS4GOTP? Why can't I abbreviate the official title of the game to make it shorter? Why must I type it out in full, senior autismo?
Just call it 4 or Guns, man.
Stop replying to him
Vampy Bit Me is the new Trooper Card.
>Sega actually managed to come up with a game title so ridiculous, people think it's a meme
>Sword fighting
GOOD
>guns
BAD
>Three weeks
I'm conflicted; I'm slated to beat Judgement this week and would like to start Lost Judgement but don't think I'd have enough time to play and digest it before Ishin.
>this one autist in every thread who complains about people abbreviating a long ass title into something shorter
It's not a meme. It's very common for people to abbreviate long titles. We're not the ones who came up with the title. Sega did.
You're the only guy who does this. You're in every thread spamming it in an attempt at making your dumb meme popular.
I spammed nothing. I made one (1) single post asking what the combat in LADGMWEHN will be like. Then you started complaining about the way I abbreviate the game. Sucks to have autism, don't it? Do you go in every thread on Ganker complaining about the way people abbreviate shit? Shut your shit mouth and lobotomize that autism right out of your skull if you can't accept how people abbreviate a title.
Man, you're in every thread with this.
You're the one person doing it. You're like the vidya butts sperg who tries to give his life meaning by posting stupid shit for attention.
How can you be so hung up on how I choose to abbreviate it? What's weird about it? It's the longest game title I ever came across and I choose to abbreviate it. Blame Sega. I call it GTA, not Grand Theft Auto. I call it MGS, not Metal Gear Solid. I call it FF not Final Fantasy. I call it LADGTMWEHN. I didn't come up with the title, Sega did. And it's too long to type out. Leave me alone. It was a genuine question. The reason you call it "spam" is because you don't like that I abbreviate it. If I called it "GAIDEN" would you still think it's spam? If yes? Why? If not, why? It makes no sense.
I'm not hung up on anything, spaz. It's you who can't take it.
Keep spamming your nonsense.
What did I tell you about replying to yourself?
>doesn't reply to anyone
>what did i tell you about replying to yourself
Frick it, I was halfway on your side, but I'm camp LADGTMWEHN now.
Don't you get it? You need to abbreviate it in the specific way we want. You have to call it Gaiden or Lad Gee.
Stop replying to yourself.
>even people in the comments are b***hing about the cards
>YOU ARE IN EVERY YAKUZA THREAD TALKING ABOUT YAKUZA GAMES
What does this symbolize? Are Ichi and Kiryu-chan getting married in LAD8?
just call it gaiden?
It looks good. I don't know why people take issue with UE4.
Chances Ishin will be on the gamepass? Please answer in Yakuza terms only.
i just wish they stick to DE, love me funny ragdolls
my favorite game is LAD0TPOO followed by LAD4STTL
Actually, YAKUZA 5 FULFILLER OF DREAMS is the best game of the past 30 years and SEGA's magnum opus. It's the pinnacle of the franchise and everything RGGS tried to accomplish with the series. Every game before or after YAKUZA 5 FULFILLER OF DREAMS is a humongous downgrade compared to it.
>Inconsistency: The Game
>barely has any screentime

funny anon tho
I kinda like that he DOESN'T do much.
>doesn't even understand why he's where he's at now and if his father's dream is his
>his own dream itself is to beat Kiryu and reach to the top on his own
>he's being handed everything despite wanting to work for it
He and Haruka are on each side of the same coin.
Since Kiryu has settled things with Jo Amon and also Jo may have been killed by Kenshiro , the super boss in Gaiden should be Aizawa, having finally trained enough that he feels worthy of having another go at Kiryu.
I bought digital versions, but planning to purchase the physical copies of Yakuza 0-7 in all honesty since I plan on buying Ishin Kiwami. I just want them there so I can lend them to friends who are interested in dipping their toes in the series
Would be unironically kino. Aizawa was really based. His fight was the pinnacle of boss fights in the Kiryu saga.
>pinnacle
Sir, you can't just say that. It is dangerous in these parts. You're probably going to wind up in some screenshot.

>no english dub

>unironically liking American VA's using Japanese terms and honorifics while speaking perfect American English
Unironically prefer listening when playing games for greater immersion over reading a novel instead. Wouldn't mind some subs if this game wasn't 75% dialogs and cutscenes. Same goes to anime. Even shit VA makes up for better experience overall. Reading and watching is 2 separate activities.
Playing Japanese games in English is immersive?
A game set in Japan, with Japanese characters, is more immersive when everyone has an American accent?
In my country all movies and tv series get dubbed into my native language. This is nothing new.
Pathetic.
I'm buy.
Kiryu doesn't kill people.
But his ancestor sure does.
How tall is Yagami in Judge Eyes? He looks freakishly tall compared to othe rNPCs.

It really wouldn't surprise me if it turned out these threads were AI generated
These threads went downhill super fast somehow. Up until 7 and the release of the PC remastered collection we had good discussion.
Just have good discussions. Lead by example. If the discussion is good, you'll get responses.
Too many threads
i came into this thread for one reason and one reason only, to REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE at that muzzle loader missing its ramrod
>posters count didn't go up
I play games with Kazama Kiryu in them so I'm gonna play this one too.
Moose is the 10 extra bucks for the deluxe edition worth it?
ye
It's finally been long enough that I can go back and play Yakuza 0 again.
Looking forward to the wrestling minigame again
Now I'm not one to reply to people, but I will.
can someone tell me what moose said in one sentence or less
something something change bad
He said he prefers Yak5 characters over Yak7 and Yak0 characters and the Deluxe edition is only good for the Kiryu skin
These threads are so fricking shit now
>obvious shills
>morons trying to bait others
>morons who spam the same shitty jokes and gifs every fricking thread like it’s a general
Getting popular really fricking ruined these threads
Also why are they adding literally who westoids to the game now?
Who the duck does this even appeal to?
Frick you, Kenny Omega
They just wanna make sure they sell more copies by having people they can use to advertize the game to new audiences. If it pays off and it sells well, we might get Kenzan and Black Panther next
Why the frick would anyone want those to be remade?
They’d pretty much ruin them.
Because 99% of the fanbase has never played Kenzan and Black Panther and would like to try it out?
Play them, literally nobody is stopping you.
I don't speak Japanese and I don't have a gamer PC. I'm a PlayStation gamer, which is where this series has originated. I just want an official release for current systems like they're doing with Ishin.
Poof
You get a bad remake instead that will ruin the combat of the originals
I don't know the originals 🙂 So I pay and I buy and I happy
I don't hack or pc 🙂
don't hack or can't hack? You can also get the original like I did with Ishin and watch KHHsubs walkthrough as I'm playing as well. I wouldn't mind a remake but I feel like they'd remove the def jam combat and remove the illustrated cutscenes which were PSP (peak soul perfection)
1 & 2 are translated, you can play it on deck or a hacked psp.
Doesn't Black Panther already have an English translation? Ishin is understandable because it's JP exclusive PS4 game
It has one but it's kinda shitty, a better one is being worked on I think
What's the problem with the wrestler cards? As if K2 and 6 didn't already include Japanese wrestlers in them and as if the series wasn't heavily rooted in wrasslan culture anyway. The only problem is the usable cards outside dungeon.
They’re literal who westoids
>people look forward to latest release of a franchise they like
>shill
Just because you're not excited, you don't gotta devalue people's excitement. You should be jealous instead. Jealous that they still get enjoyment out of something that brings you none.
DAME DA NE
>The game is literally designed around the fact that you go "Hey, I know that guy!" over and over and over again.
That is just a bonus if you've played other yakuza games. Most yakuza players have only played 0 and suddenly them recognizing more than 3 characters ruins the story for them? Meds.
>and suddenly them recognizing more than 3 characters ruins the story for them?
Yes, because the entire game's story is based around these things as focal points. If you know that
Takechi is evil at all then you know what gets spoiled? The main mystery of the entire game. If you know that Kondo is actually a good guy you know what gets spoiled? Literally five or six chapters of setup just to reveal that fact. You literally run around for multiple chapters unraveling that Kondo might have been behind the one behind the assassination.
BP1 has a partial one that does the main story but it's really glitchy and you need a JP version in order to do basic things like level up or side content without crashes.
BP2 has a proper one that does everything but hostesses and two really easy to understand minigames. The BP2 guys will go back to BP1's after they finish BP2's last things.
Dude you're way too close to this franchise. I literally recognize nobody except Akiyama, Adachi, Zhao, Haruka and Kiryu and Majima. You are literally the only person spoiling the plot in every thread. Without you we'd have no idea.
>You are literally the only person spoiling the plot in every thread. Without you we'd have no idea.
that was Moose's plan all arong
Are you joking right now? Literally everything I have put has been in spoilers to prevent people who haven't played it from being spoiled. I was assuming I was arguing with someone who actually played Ishin and was arguing back. Why are you arguing with me about why Ishin Kiwami's changes are actually a good thing when you haven't even played Ishin in the first place to understand what you're arguing about? You haven't experienced the story, how it is structured, or its main flow and character development. How in the world would you know that Kiwami's are better?
I've even detailed why it's the exact opposite and the response has been "Yeah but not everyone pays attention" which is beyond dumb because it doesn't matter if YOU don't pay attention, if someone DID pay attention they will have a worse experience than anyone playing the original.
>People won't know that the character have the same personalities if they haven't played the original game before.
They wouldn't know until chapter 2 when every single character you met has acted the exact same and you start to notice that fact, and then
Takechi appears again and would you look at that, he's Shibusawa.
>You wouldn't be making these types of posts if you've never played the original game before.
I am telling you why based on the experience I had, what I noticed, and how the game was written, presented, and shown to me. If I had never played Ishin then going into Ishin Kiwami I would still be looking at Ishin with the mindset of "Oh, that's Shibusawa, I should be cautious of this guy" and "Oh, that's Adachi, why is he bad after I just met half a dozen characters who all act the exact same? This is clearly some sort of ruse."
No one has played Ishin. You're the only one spoiling the plot.
>You're the only one spoiling the plot.
In spoilers. Which you need to intentionally hover over and then read. Something done to prevent you from being spoiled. I've even double spoilered names in several posts just to make it absolutely certain people aren't getting spoiled on a hover-through.
>Watase was a good guy in the mainline games
He was an antagonist in 5, he was just an honorable one who knew when to bow out and was going to fix the mistakes his own men caused right at the finale. With 7's knowledge, yes, I can agree with that view of him will happen in Ishin Kiwami so people get that as a twist at least, but 5 to Ishin would have you 50/50 on him which wouldn't really be that much of a shock expectation-wise.
Watase was not an antagonist in 5. Just because you fight him in there doesn't mean he's automatically a villain.
Antagonist doesn't mean he's an outright villain. He still fought Kiryu for the Omi Alliance to try and kill him and only stopped when he decided it wasn't honorable. He was still hostile to Kiryu for a bit and later on he's still got beef against the Tojo Clan but the Omi Alliance's reputation is on the line so he goes to clean up their own mess. Yeah, he eventually teams up with Kiryu and Daigo in 7 but on that transition from 5 to Ishin you would still view him with a weary eye because you don't know which way he'd go.
Then what about Ogita? He's a villain in 5 but turned out to be a good guy in Ishin.
You got me there, that's the one exception I can think of. The only argument I got is "We knew Ogita as a friendly face about half the time" but if I throw that at you you can make the exact same counter with Morinaga (If I remember right) or Aizawa being villains instead of friendly.
>ARE DU JOKING RIGHT NOW? LITERALLY EVERYZING ICH HAVE PUT HAS BEEN IN SPOILERS ZU PREVENT PEOPLE WHO HAVE NICHT PLAYED ES FROM BEING SPOILED. ICH WAS ASSUMING ICH WAS ARGUING WIZ SOMEONE WHO AKTUALLY PLAYED ISHIN UND WAS ARGUING BACK. WHY ARE DU ARGUING WIZ ME ABOUT WHY ISCHE KIWI'S CHANGES ARE AKTUALLY EIN GOOD ZING WHEN DU HAVE NICHT EVEN PLAYED ISCHE IN ZE FIRST PLACE ZU UNDERSTAND WHAT DU'RE ARGUING ABOUT? DU HAVE NICHT EXPERIENCED ZE STORY, HOW ES IST STRUKTURED, OR ITS MAIN FLOW UND CHARAKTER DEVELOPMENT. HOW IN ZE WORLD WOULD DU KNOW THAT KIWI'S ARE BETTER? ICH'VE EVEN DETAILED WHY IT'S ZE EXAKT OPPOSITE UND ZE RESPONSE HAS BEEN "JA ABER NICHT EVERYONE PAYS ATTENTION" WHICH IST BEYOND DUMB BEKAUSE ES DOESN'T MATTER IF DU DON'T PAY ATTENTION, IF SOMEONE DID PAY ATTENTION ZEY WILL HAVE EIN WORSE EXPERIENCE ZAN ANYONE PLAYING ZE ORIGINAL.
Why do you do this in every thread
You’re as bad as the Haruka spammer and the man who erased his ass spammer
None of you are funny
>"JA ABER NICHT EVERYONE PAYS ATTENTION"
thats when my sides went into orbit
You don't know Kondo is a good guy if you haven't played the original game before. People won't know that the character have the same personalities if they haven't played the original game before. This is all new to them because they haven't played the original game before. Why can't you get that through your hard head? You wouldn't be making these types of posts if you've never played the original game before.
If you never played any yakuza game then that’d be the case, since you wouldn’t know
But if you’re familiar with other games then it spoils certain events
This is why people keep b***hing about Shibusawa and his position in the story
I also don’t like that people like koshimizu is replacing ogita since ogita is a huge b***h while koshimizu was never even remotely similar aside from appearing as a minor antagonist
I’d b***h if ichiban were shoehorned into the story since there’s not a single character that is similar to him. He’d maybe fit better over kiryu in Kenyan because he’s a cheeky c**t in that game.
Only people who spoiled themselves on Takechi being the main villain b***h about Shibusawa.
Watase was a good guy in the mainline games and he's a villain in Ishin so your argument kinda falls flat there.
The Moose AI Chatbot has finally broken down. Exposed?
Oh no, Moose's script has gone off path
After Ishin and TMWEHN, will we finally get Kenzan?
In 10 years we'll get UE5 remakes of the entire franchise under these titles:
>Like a Dragon
>Like a Dragon 2
>Like a Dragon Kenzan
>Like a Dragon 3
>Like a Dragon 4 Successor to the Legend
>Like a Dragon of the End
>Like a Dragon 5 Fulfiller of Dreams

>Like a Dragon 0 The Place of Oath
>Like a Dragon 6 The Song of Life
>Like a Dragon 7 Whereabouts of Light & Darkness
>Like a Dragon Gaiden The Man Who Erased His Name
>Like a Dragon 8 The Souls of Infinity

Yakuza 5 is good, and yakuza 7 was not good, yes

Why are you cucks even here if you’re not gonna talk about the games?
Try reading the thread first? We've been discussing the games for hours.

He’s not cherrypicking, that’s what’s been happening
He's not wrong. This shitty thread is a dumpsterfire until the mods do something about these autists.
What if all of those posters are actually the same person? Maybe if Moose disappears, the other meme posters will too?
Alright, let's have a civilized discussion.
Which antagonist was fundamentally and absolutely the best in the franchise?
Little Baby Iwami
Haruka Sawamura
Mine was cool
Nishiki was cool too but should’ve survived to properly atone
Shocked that they did the same thing to Masato but worse since he was going to actually atone for what he did. Just felt like lazy miserywank.
Kuwana in LJ or Ryo in BP2. The former was just a great antagonist with relatable motives and the latter was a fun fight with some hilarious trolling of Tatsuya all game.
>Kuwana in LJ
Completely outclassed by Kuroiwa so hard it's not even funny. Bullyman was a goof.
The fight? Absolutely.
The character? No way, Kuroiwa was left to the very tail end of Judgment as a character and pretty much just acted like an butthole every time you met. Outside of his delusions in the finale he wasn't even really present most of the game.
>he wasn't even really present most of the game.
That's bullshit
>He spearheads the investigation with the mole
>He is investigating Shintani's death
>He keeps tabs on Ayabe
>He tries to get Yagami at the ADDC
>He has a deal with the Matsugane after the reveal and it is shown
>He has a showdown with Yagami prior to the final battle
What the hell are you on about? Just because he didn't play pretend nice guy like Kuwana does in LJ doesn't mean he didn't have presence or good buildup, his twist was also way more impactful.
I really liked that part when Kuroiwa was interrogating Yagami
>He spearheads the investigation with the mole
In an extremely short cutscene. It's like 15 seconds long of him going "Wow, this must be the Mole, look at this!".
>He is investigating Shintani's death
This is about a minute long interrogation of Yagami and then they part ways. Yes, it's a tense interrogation but that's to set him up as an butthole cop that may or may not be corrupt. That's his biggest presence up until his first fight and it's the bare minimum to keep him in the story.
>He keeps tabs on Ayabe
We only find out about this significantly later into the game after Ayabe is arrested and then confront him in the exact same way as the first interrogation and it's just as short.
>He has a deal with the Matsugane after the reveal and it is shown
For like a minute. Yes, it's a cool reveal but up until this point he's just been some random butthole cop you've met twice for very short periods of time who kept threatening Yagami.
>He has a showdown with Yagami prior to the final battle
This is when he actually starts being shown in the game but by this point it's literally one chapter from the end of the game. He's just an butthole cop which is why he has to have his whole speech about being deluded to actually give him more character.
He's not bad, I just wouldn't say he was as present as I wanted him to be.
Judgment's killer was the best final fight. I won't reveal who it is cause the whole game centers around the mystery.
Y3 and LJ final bosses. Both dark reflections of their respective protagonists.
What was, unironically, the best twist in the series?
inb4 rubber bullets
Honestly, probably 6 assuming you understand the implications behind it. It's a pretty big revelation.
I don't understand the implications behind it.
The government is so corrupt that to reveal it would pretty much collapse Japan's legal system due to how entrenched the corruption is to its very core.
Taxpayers have been giving money to Daidoji and his men for over 60 years legally.
Taxpayers have been paying for the legal assassinations of citizens for over 60 years.
Taxpayers also paid so that the government would kidnap and enslave people from foreign countries during WW2 to dig out the secret entrance and build the Yamato before executing them all.
It voids the Treaty of San Francisco and means Japan is still technically an aggressor of WW2 to this day so they'd have a mess of diplomatic missions they'd have to make to apologize and placate everyone but this is probably the least worrying part of it.
Then of course there's the minor stuff like Hirose being involved in it.
The only returning chatacters we know of right now are Bacchus, Ms. Tatsu, and Shinji because of new substories.
A second Yamato would be huge. Wouldn't that mean that the war never stopped?
Just want to know, is my girl Saeko in here somewhere? I know she's a card, but is the actual character in the game?
Wondering the same about Ichi as well.
They aren’t
Well, that's mad. Adachi and Zhao are there, but no new protagonist and best girl?
I hope they're there somewhere.
They hold out information on us all the time so it's likely they don't want to spoil everything new. K1 added at least four or five new substories and K2 added a bit more than that so I imagine this will be in the same range. I'd find it hard to believe Ichiban isn't in it in a substory but those other guys get in.
I just hope he has a major role somewhere. Same with Saeko.
Outside of substories there’s no where to put ichiban in since none of the characters personalities line up with his
Oh, I agree there, I just hope he's in somewhere and plays a good part. Maybe as a trainer or something? The one who runs the Battle Dungeon?
I think we already saw the Battle Dungeon guy in one of the demos and it's the same generic NPC. Not sure what he'd train anyone in since it's all taken, unless they reworked stuff.
I'm just grasping at straws here, my man. Love those characters. I don't want to have to wait another year to see them back.
Honestly, I would’ve preferred a new game with the new characters instead of this weird remake that opts to replace characters, because we could’ve gotten something legit new and cool
Ishin didn’t need a remake at all
We are getting a new game in 2024
They are working on Ishin, LADGTMWEHN and LAD8 at the same time. So don't worry. Ishin is just a nice bonus. New stuff is coming.
>LADGTMWEHN
Shut the frick up already tard
Are they really going to call it LAD8 in the west?
All signs are pointing to "yes" but it still doesn't have a subtitle yet so this may not be a finalized logo.
But how do they explain there not being a game with 7 in the title in the west?
They're about to release a game called "Like a Dragon: Ishin" in the west which to the general public will look like it's a sequel to Yakuza: Like a Dragon. I don't think they really care about that anymore.
and what will normies think where Like a Dragon Gaiden The Man Who Erased His Name will fit in?
IT'S CALLED YAKUZA GAIDEN YOU TRIPLE Black person
No game will ever be titled Yakuza again
Comin at ya with another Kenzan guide update. I'm really finding everything and giving japanese text for quite literally everything. I had to go back and go through some of the sections I've done previously now that I've found all the japanese text. Everyone will be able to keep track of 100% of everything pretty much.
Please don't.
Leave him alone
I'm still banking on only Ichiban getting representation and only in a substory. It looks like the JP and Asian English sites show everyone who has a substory right now that's been revealed and they imply there will be more:
https://ryu-ga-gotoku.com/Ishin_kiwami/asia_en/kiwami/#substory
I forgot Kanda and Shindo were also being added. The western site sucks compared to that Asian one.
I was honestly hoping they'd do this one idea a guy here had where it's basically something like Gintama where Ichiban is the Gintoki equivalent, Saeko is basically Kagura, and Nanba is Shinpachi. It plays like a JRPG, they take jobs from their home base, and it focuses on Ichiban's cast and crew instead of Kiryu's. Obviously a period piece.

Did Sakamoto Ryoma's actions literally cause rise of Fascist Japan and their many war crimes?
Yeah, he was one of the pioneers of "progressivism" or whatever and agree to having immigrants, Americans come into the country and "enrich" it or whatever. He pissed the frick out of the Tokugawa Shogunate with all his actions against them and all the shit he was trying to do in order to further push for Westernization so they sent in assassin's to kill him twice. Once it failed, the second time they killed him.
No. He was a good man. Originally a staunch nationalist, his eyes were opened when he realized that Japan was behind the times and needed to modernize. Japan couldn't compete with the West's power.
He negotiated the "pro-Emperor" alliance that brought down the Shogunate and establish a westernized government, so yeah. Also found a shipping company which is considered Japan's first corporation.
Though he didn't even live to see the government reforms and apparently admired the US the most, wanting a more democratic government. The squabble that happened during the Meiji reforms make his assassination fairly questionable tbh
King Riki should have been in more Yakuza games tbh
On a scale from 1 to 10 (1 being Smile Burger and 10 being Café Alps), where would you rank Yakuza 5 compared to Lost Judgment and can you explain your reasoning for ranking it as such as you did?
Yakuza 5: 4
>shit story
>mid combat
>bad side content
>bad characters
>bad cities
Lost Judgment: 9
>ok story
>amazing combat
>good side content
>ok characters
>good cities
how does Yaku5 have bad side content?
>taxi driver
>wiener racing
>hunting
>dance battles
>comedy routine
you's trippin
>>taxi driver
Not a fan of the rubberbanding
>>wiener racing
You serious? Just watching chickens walking and then having to breed them to make them faster
Fun at first but gets stale after a while
battles
Too easy and not a challenge unlike Lost Judgment's dancing
routine
lol
>wiener
It's fun naming them though. Adds some personal touch.
>lol
Appropriate reaction
So you're rating Yakuza 5 Wette Kitchen out of Café Alps and Lost Judgment Kyushu No. 1 Star out of Café Alps.
Yakuza 5 is the best game in the series. I have no clue about Lost Judgment because the first Judgment sucked and I dropped it halfway through.
Judgment 1 is a gritty murder mystery. It's top notch. Lost Judgment is a fun story about bullying with various cool minigames and improvements
5 is an 8
I skipped LJ since the first was a huge slog with all the braindead detective garbage
First Judgment is a dark noir story. It's mega good. Lost Judgment has a light plot about school rowdies with plenty super minigames and its generally better
LJ doesn't really do the detective stuff anymore outside of like three main bits I can think of (Crime scene, building, building 2.0) and they're spaced so far apart on top of that. The "detective" stuff is more like picking the right options during the small cross-examination events they have every once in a while which is just answering dialogue anyway.
wait wut
Remember how in Judgment you had to constantly do the "Go in first-person and look around" stuff to find evidence and cats every five minutes that you touched the main story and couldn't get away from it even in substories? Lost Judgment toned it way down to the point that it's barely even in the game. You can count the amount of times you do it on one hand. Two of which (Crime scene and the one in the intro) are just so you can find an entrance via parkour though the former also has one a few minutes later but I lump those into the same one.
Yeah LJ removing all the detective stuff was lame as frick. That was the one thing keeping it from not feeling it like the mainline games.
>Lost Judgment added Tony Hawk's and Robot Wars
What else can they do in LAD8 or Judg3?
>Yakuza 6 plot like
>Serious crime drama
Kiryu's too innocent for the situations he ends up in
homosexuals.
>Kyodais
fix'd
is ladgtmwehn between 6 and 7 or between 7 and 8? Or between 6 and 7 and 8 all three?
it's pretty clearly between 7 and 8 and will explain why kiryu has kpop hair in 8
but they gotta show how he ends up where he is in 7 and in japan its called like a dragon 7 gaiden the man who erased his name
Takes place after 6 but before 8
>ladgtmwehn
Just say Gaiden, people will know what you mean
She filtered hundreds of thousands of insecure players.
that's not park-san
Clearly he's talking about Ogita
what if they move the golden gun to a later point instead of being able to grab it as early as chapter 3?
Then I will have enjoyed your company, Anon.
If you played KENZAN with a translated guide you didn't really beat the game. It's not the same experience.
>chai will get his boy pussy smashed
Fujostaceys won
Is this game or Judgment better in the gameplay department?
Ishin, but it's also the most broken of the series in terms of balance on the original. One of the styles is so overpowered it's the best style in the entire series and requires no effort to use. It also takes quite a while to level up styles so while one of the styles gets really strong later on it takes a very long time to reach that point, and another is super weak even with the Symbols to buff it but allows you to easily control the field with the most lenient parry in the series (Even more than LJ's Snake).
Ishin Kiwami is looking like it's rebalancing a few things however it still looks more or less identical so that should still stand. On the other hand it's also introducing cards outside of the Battle Dungeon and some of their effects are insanely overpowered. Nothing forcing you to use cards though.
someone post the big story beats so i can dm them people on resetera
is the sample at the start from somewhere else or is it original from the soundtracks? the one that sounds like "I shoot em I bust em"
>woke washed
>unreal engine
no thanks
Wait... you WANT the gay men stuff to stay in?
The bathhouse scene is literally still in you tard
naked buff men fighting > wanting to frick a twink's bussy
That’s still fricking happening
Awano gonna make that Zhao bussy squirt
Both are happening, and both are straight
gee I wonder what happened in today's Jacuzzi thread, anyone got a quick rundown?
LADGTMWEHN
Moose writing paragraph upon paragraph of whatever the frick he is hiding behind those spoiler tags
Autism. Same as it ever was.
Autism
>Same
Piss off, these threads used to be much better
>influencers everywhere
Ishinbros...
I don't know who any of these people are, if SEGA wants marketing they should give the game to e-celebs like they did with 0.
Kenny Omega's okay, he's at least a wrestler and there's a precedent for them being in Yakuza
I love CIA Wesker
She-Eye-Ayga*
I wonder if they had anything to do with Addo Dekko Neinu
Why doesn't the dance class in Lost Judgment filter people as much as Haruka did in Y5?
Lost Judgment's dancing actually has a hard difficulty unlike Haruka's dancing. Also Yagami and the Seiryo Rabbits are better dancers.
More than two songs
Haruka literally has more songs though...
Not for random fights
well even if you exclude the dance battles (which is silly) then they have the exact same amount of songs.
Yagami has 4 and Haruka has 3
i counted dream cause i felt like it
its only fair if youre excluding the dance battle songs
Because Haruka is dogshit just like you
Frick you, ojisan
have a nice day with a 357 magnum in real life you fricking Black person
I'm not American. I live in a civilized country where people don't easily have access to guns and don't shoot up schools every week.
So does hayashi lau ka long and arase appear because they are my top favorite characters in the series excluding kiryu Ichi amon and the dojima lieutenants.
Seeing as reviewers b***hed about sawa lying in LJ, I wouldn’t doubt that they’ll tackle mature subject matters that toe a similar line since people clearly aren’t mature enough nowadays
have a nice day
Isnt this Kenzan sequel? Why remake this first?
Kenzan and Ishin are hundreds of years apart. There is no direct link. They're just both non-canon spin-offs that tell similar stories in a similar setting
does Ishin have a Friend system like Judgment 1 does?
One will be added to the remake to annoy you specifically
Wait, what do you mean? I liked the Friend system in Judgment. Why would one annoy me?
Ishin was the start of the friend system in the whole series and it's very basic as the first game to use it.
So why did they use Unreal Engine for this instead of Dragon Engine?
They are using Ishin to test if it's a good idea to fully upgrade to UE in the future or if they should further develop the DE. LAD8 and LADGTMWEHN are still on DE. Depending on how those two games turn out and how satisfied they are with Ishin, they'll then decide how to further proceed for LAD9 and Judgment 3.
I honestly prefer UE. Not only do the character models look better on UE, it's also going to run better on PC.
I prefer the character models in UE too, but I prefer DE environments. Ijincho and Kamurocho just look fantastic in DE.
>it's also going to run better on PC
I haven't had any issues with the later Dragon Engine ports, once Sega really starting giving them attention.
I'm honestly more worried about the prospect of Ishin having a lot of shader compilation stutter like other recent UE4 games have been on PC.
One thing I really hate about Judgment is how once a boss pops an aura unless you pop your Ex-Heat you have no openings, they literally dodge your wallruns, superarmor through everything and have grabs disabled. It's really anti-fun.
Tiger's square square charged triangle triangle triangle is the strat
Ojisan are you LEADY TO GO
BTW do female gamers get themselves off to Kiryu?
Still have a bestial hard-on for Miss Tatsu, lads.
Bring him back
People still play (I'm using the word 'play' very loosely here) these shovelware games?
