Here come's the buyers remorse homosexuals coming in to tell you the rotten shit they ate is actually good and you should in fact try it out for yourself as well.
>no argument + doesn't deny it
HAHAHHAHAHAHAH YOU LOVE EAT SHIT HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHA SHIT STAINS ALL OVER THE CORNERS OF YOUR MOUTH AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH SHIT EATER
It'll pay off in the sequel bro, trust Yokoyama. He has a plant. It will all come together in the sequel and you will feel ashamed for having shat on his massive genius level writing that you just can't comprehend because of your low IQ.
>this guy, who you knew for like two days, gets Hanawa and Wong Tou killed, pushes a little girl down the stairs with a bomb on her, and wanted you and everyone else like you dead >he was a good friend; Imma take a mob beating for him and not defend myself at all during it
>bro the yakuza want to kill you so go to prison im sure there are no yakuza there >okay so your foot is fricked so i won't call the police to come get you i'll just carry you on my back through the mom i know is outside
so are you just going to post the same shit in every thread? do you really have nothing to do? and, no i'm not going to engage with your demand because you're a moron and anyone who takes you at face value is, too.
I hate that Yokoyama couldn't just let Kiryu go, and had to self-insert his cancer experience to make Kiryu go out like a weak b***h, unlike walking off into the sunset like a legend.
I'm noticing this series struggling with protagonists after their debut game in some way or another >Kasuga in this game >Akiyama not being bad in 5 but not really adding much to the story >Saejima in 5 being a repeat of 4's prison arc but worse >Haruka's idol bullshit if you count her >Yagami loses his appeal after his character arc finished
Even Kiryu showed signs of stagnation starting from 4
If the thing about there being a new ip is true I'm looking forward to it, this studio seems to do better with clean slates
It was Ryosuke Horii who was a cancer survivor
More than one person made this game's plot lol
I think Ichiban would be fine if Kiryu wasn’t in the game
I think the problem lies with the refusal to move on from him, so while he can be fun, everyone else suffers
nah they went full moron with ichiban in 8
just like yagami in lost judgment
yokoyama keeps writing himself into a wall which is why he keeps kiryu around and gives him cancer to farm sympathy for surviving cancer himself
>he is gonna be too old
Like that's going to stop writers if they want to have him lmao
Unless you mean his voice actor, in which case fair, he's still active but getting to that retirement age bracket.
>龍が如く
like a dragon?
ok but why was it previously known as >yah KOO zah
and what does this name change mean for the average not japanese person? and also are sega moronic? (unrelated question)
>shitposters have gaslit enough people into thinking the body switching and high school panty seller substories are actually pro-trans messages
actually pretty funny.
the best part about the panty seller one is that quote is literally meant to be the WRONG answer, because he's saying this in defense of buying a child's used underwear
These aren't even good examples of the point they're trying to make. Kiryu was patronizing Earth Angel regularly and helping the owner without judgment in canon substories as far back as the original game. They just don't like to draw attention to it because it undermines their false dichotomy because he only does that when he's running the bar.
PLEASE I BEG YOU ON TOP OF YOU TO NOT TO THIS EBGINA PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I PROSTRATE MYSELF LIKE A homosexual AND I BEG PLEASE
Leaks wouldn't mean anything. There's literally nothing to spoil in this game because the writing goes nowhere. This is coming from someone who avoided the leaks like the plague.
i don't even understand why they're putting it in a fricking cave when we see a massive man-made storage well the first time the island is introduced in a cutscene
i think the point was that they are storing it intentionally in a poor, low safety way but were putting up a front that it's more well put together to get public support.
He already got shat on in the previous threads for running massive buyer's remorse cope campaign.
Just ignore him from now on in any future threads since you can easily spot him as being that one schizophrenic moron who has a mental breakdown out of nowhere over people seeking out spoilers first before buying the game and then diverts to calling everyone poorgays in defense to anything. It's really not worth arguing with or giving attention to anymore. He'll stop if you don't give him replies.
I feel like this series has been going through a massive identity crisis since Y6, maybe way earlier than that since they've been trying to kill off or get rid of kiryu since 2008, its a soulless husk of its former self being carried by extremely unfunny reddit tier substories.
I nearly forgot the nuclear energy being bad thing was an ESG incentive given to writers who want to do something related to shit about climate change and whatnot.
It's moronic as frick since nuclear energy IS legit a good source of power as long as you have competent people on staff who know how to handle things around. You aren't going to have any major frickups unless you actually get hit by some natural disaster.
this whole "you haven't played the game" rhetoric is so fricking lame
stop making a video game your entire personality so you feel personally attacked any time there is any criticism about it
you can like something while holding some criticisms about certain aspects of it
and you can admit that people are being fricking babies ever since leaks came out, yeah the plot is messy but it's nothing fricking new, yakuza 5 exists, and 8 is new yakuza 5 with the bloat
you can bet most of these gaiden wank people were kvetching over gaiden in gaiden threads, these kind of people are just waste of breath and i know someone who actually acts like this
"filler" criticism is completely moronic, it directly continues stuff in 7 and gaiden
yes, the story needed tighter focus, and the discrepancies with gaiden being a thing is moronic considering gaiden was written after this, the symbolism is there but the plotting isn't paced well and can be incoherent
it's still a great game and i had a blast past week going through it, the shameless fanservice of kiryu chapters had me giggle like a little girl while playing through them
you could see that one of points of contention that people had before release with it being set in america was completely unfounded, the game reeked with japan and was completely japanese to the point most of characters in hawaii were still japanese
i hope they keep improving upon the formula in the new judgment, new gaiden and 9
GIVE HIM HIS OWN FRICKING GAME
PEOPLE HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR THIS
GIVE HIM SOME FLIPPY-SHIT STYLE LIKE YAGAMI OR SOME SHIT
FRICK
i hope they give him makeover at some point, i hate his 6 face
That whole sequence was moronic because pushing Lani down the stairs with the gas cannister served no purpose. It was just shock value the immediately gets tossed aside within seconds.
no seriously why doesn't ichiban question how the frick he's there
even if he hopped into a wheelchair accessible cab right after ichiban and told the cabbie to follow tomi - it takes a long time to get a wheelchair bound passanger safely secured into a vehicle and exiting a vehicle
It's genuinely pathetic how this one homosexual can somehow outsmart an entire corporation of special agents funded by the government or whatever. It's like they really just want to go out of their way to portray their own country's government and authority figures or whatever as being as inept and moronic as possible.
>Used his real name all along >Daidoji knew he was a part of bleach japan >Daidoji knew that bleach japan fricking hates all yakuza, ichiban and the arakwa family >Daidoji knew that Eiji in particular hated Arakawa family due to his hit and run >They don't do anything and just let him chill out in their hideout
Why is there such a disconnect between this game and Gaiden? In Gaiden Kiyru was fully committed to the Joyru identity and did not budge for anyone. In 8 he's back to using the Suzuki alias, and immediately drops the act with every single person he meets.
At the end of Gaiden Hanawa has him change to Suzuki since fricking everyone knows joryu now. The rest of your post is completely valid though, it was fricking dumb.
Gaiden was primarily written by the Judgment writer and he probably drank himself into memory loss brain damage after seeing what was going on in the IW writers room
Gaiden was written after 8 and Yokoyama is in the same position for both, credited for "Story".
Furuta is "Storyboard & Script Writer" in Gaiden (also 6, JE, LJ), "Script Writing Support" in 8.
The last game Yokoyama had "Storyboard & Script Writer" position was 7.
"Script Writer" of 8 is Takeuchi, who has filled such role for the first time in his career.
So, the plot in both 8 and Gaiden is on Yokoyama, the dialogue, pacing and fine details are on Takeuchi and Furuta (or only Furuta in Gaiden).
I don't know where they can go after this with the turn-based formula. They ran sujimon into the ground in 8. They couldn't even come up with a funny reason as to why Kiryu sees them.
Turn based should go into a spinoff game that is straight up just a fantasy land. So many jobs are just worse versions of other ones, that at best have 1-2 skills to inherit.
They should make the historical games turn-based. Or as you said, just some Japanese mythos game. The gimmick of a turn-based game set in modern Japan has already run it's course. It also did for persona by 4, but people still loved 5 for whatever reason.
>Friend is playing dubbed for some god forsaken reason >Watch him play to see the differences >He's at dondoko island >Gachapin yells "HIP HIP HOORAY" instead of EI EI OH
I fricking hate Magenta so much; his mistranslations caught on in mainstream localizations.
I thought everyone knew that the Yakuza writers are moronic mentally ill self inserting cucks when they let Kiryuu canonically get with one girl and then wrote her out immediately in the sequel and not only did they just write her out but had het sending text messages to Kiryuu about all the stages of her relationship with the new guy she met. If they could get away with it they would have made it so she facetimed Kiryuu while getting fricked by Black folk.
After that nothing surprises my anymore in Yakuza and I just turn my brain off and enjoy the moronic sub stories and the mini games.
I', in 12 chapter, about to go meet Daigo and lads. Almost 50 lvl. Should I clear yoko dungeon for kiryu armor for final boss including or am i already overleveled?
Nah, this was great too. A lot of them were really nothingburger though. The one with kid selling lemonade kind of ticked me off, because they just leave the kid with his uncle abusing him and we're supposed to believe fist correction instantly fixed everything that ever happened. Vapid wholesomeness is pretty boring and I believe it doesn't work with Ichiban well because that's his normal state, he needs to persevere through more fricked up situations.
I was fine with diaper dude joke because he appeared in actually serious substory as a swerve and it was actually pretty touching.
Pocket racer is fine as well because at least we fricking didn't have to play it again. But it's moronic that his portrayal contradicts Gaiden again, the same happened in K1 and 6 portrayal of him.
I'm tired of Ono Michio though. Fricking stop with masturbatory shit.
He's the bartender at Pocket Circuit bar in Sotenbori where the adults drink and the kids play Pocket Circuit or something. And then at the end he's revealed to be the same Pocket Circuit Fighter we know and he's the final boss.
Did you play Gaiden? It's literally meant to be him.

His teacher is OG Fighter. Gaiden is concurrent with 7 so Fighter is in Yokohama during that period

Did YOU play Gaiden or even 7? He's in Yokohama doing Dragon Kart, and he doesn't look like the manager. The haircut difference is a dead giveaway that it's not him. Maybe they wanted Joryu and PCF to meet then, but it would have created a plot hole with both 7 and 8. Please tell me you remember what PCF even looks like once you take away the uniform.
Why the frick would he have this photo otherwise?
Anonymous
That I cannot explain other than it being a keepsake of his mentor, but they are objectively not the same person. Every time PCF shows up, he has hammy voice clips, but the Manager does not. Every time someone who Kiryu knew meets Joryu, they accused him of being Kiryu, but the Manager does not. Kiryu met PCF just a couple of years prior to Gaiden, but Joryu did not recognize him.
Please compare their faces, side by side, and get back to me with your prosopagnosia diagnosis.

I didn't think he was PCF until the fricking photo reveal and the way the Pocket Circuit girl talked about him. I guess they just swapped his model last minute and it was really meant to be PCF until they realized it makes no sense. I think similar thing happens with K1 and 6 where 6 doesn't even acknowledge PCF was a thing in K1 because they were developed at the same time.

That's what I'm thinking, he was just changed out, but they'd have to write quite a bit out for Joryu to not recognize him and it'd create a plot hole with 7. I was never under the impression it was him because he's got a recognizable face, but I did feel like they wanted to do something with him but just had a diet version in the end.

There's another random old pocket fighter who learned from the OG and has the 80's picture of the OG fighter and Kiryu who morons get confused by, since OG Fighter is doing dragon kart bullshit at that time in a completely different city.
WHY DO THEY WAIT SO FRICKING LONG TO UNLOCK JOBS HOLY FRICK IS IT BECAUSE THE LEVEL SCALING IS BAD BECAUSE YOU NEED TO KEEP SWAPPING FRICKING PARTIES LMAO FRICKING KILL ME
I originally skipped 7 because I hated the turn based RPG stuff but somehow mamaged to finish 8 just fine. Am I misremembering how boring and slow 7's combat was or are there improvements here I'm not noticing?
I finally got through the start to get to Hawaii and praying it improves. Lost Judgement and Gaiden already had me skeptical bad I'm losing faith by the chapter with infinite wealth.
The fact they teased Kaoru and then b***hed out on having Kiryu meet her again makes me really mad. I get that Yokoyama really likes 'muh yumi' but Kaoru being there at all means he's aware people like her and want her back. So he'll just bait us.
Daigo >held off the unpopular military expansion bill that would've probably failed if it came out the Tojo was involved anyway >kept Mine on board, who made the clan more money than ever >quickly makes attempts to resolve any conflict with the Ueno Seiwa while preventing any loss of assets like Kamurocho Hills, even if it ends up putting Majima in a holding cell for a few days >let's all the traitors in the Tojo Clan kill each other while he uncovers the hidden Omi branch that was secretly sneaking their way into Nagoya >discovers the Omi's 7th chairman's plan to try to take over both clans and almost stopped it entirely if he didn't have sympathy for the guy >Stops the Omi and Tojo feud the instant he gets out of prison >Works out a resolution with the Omi and Tojo to dissolve both clans once the laws were directly destroying their organizations >Starts a business that was effectively providing employment for former yakuza trying to get back into society that would've worked had Tatara not shown up >somehow kills 3 dudes after waking up from a coma
nah, Kiryu was right, he knew he wasn't actually suited to run the Tojo Clan and that's why he wanted out. How was he supposed to know a guy that Kazama trusted deeply and claimed owed his life to what Kazama believed in was actually a secret Korean who was harboring a 25 year long feud
> Literally nobody in the Dojima clan can keep their shit together and Kiryu has to step in to clean it up all the time despite not even wanting that life > It is somehow his fault.
The only way that argument even begins to make sense is that Kiryu lets himself get pulled into that bullshit all the time.
>Tomi records Dwayne pissing himself after he fakeouts murdering him as insurance if he ever betrays them >Doesn't use it when he kidnaps Lani and tries to murder them.
dont even get me started when they fricking bodied everyone in the club and cheetoes still chose to run up the stairs with lani instead of the OPPOSITE FRICKING DIRECTION
or when the goons start flooding into the theater to murder Akane and they go AIIIEEEE there's too many we must flee into this construction site for no raisin
I wish the protags weren't fricking doormats. Like you could probably murder everyone Ichiban knows and it is likely he would forgive you. I really need to play a proper RPG after this.
Eiji didn't deserve shit >boo hoo I lost my job because of some yakuza >so I'm gonna help commit yakuza genocide and help kill a little girl
Fricking Masato was less of a prick than him yet he died while this clown gets to have a second chance?
Yeah, well, Eiji may have murdered a woman, tortured a child, blackmailed people, ruined the lives of thousands of people, helped a murder cult, and broken numerous environmental laws.
But he had to pay a $1000 fine over a hit and run. Who's the real victim here? Trying to replicate the misato ending with Eiji was so fricking gay.
Considering Nanba was the first party member and had Baka Mitai as his karaoke song, I can believe that Tomizawa was meant to have Baka Darou as his karaoke song until they got his likeness cast, since the lyrics match him really well.
The strangest part is that Gaiden was fricking written after 8. This begs the question, why did they decide to build so much importance for character they'll instantly kill in 8, and why didn't they give him at least a bit more during the time they had between Gaiden and 8.
Might be the only one on this but god I was hoping the daidoji would be an antagonistic force in this game.
I fricking hate their existence, they don't add anything to the plot and just serve as a barrier to cuck Kiryu.
I was hoping so well I was gonna bat some of those homosexuals upside the head in 8
I haven't played Gaiden, but what exactly is the Daidoji's deal? Why are they treating Kiryu like a hostage when Kiryu is the one that has the dirt on them?
All they had to do was fake his death and he probably would have fricked off to bumfrick nowhere in Hokkaido or wherever while sending anonymous money to the orphanage.
>I haven't played Gaiden, but what exactly is the Daidoji's deal? Why are they treating Kiryu like a hostage when Kiryu is the one that has the dirt on them?
There's not really any reason for it other than them holding the orphanage kids hostage and forcing Kiryu to be their super special glowie agent. It's just an excuse to force Kiryu into that situation.
The Daidoji have insane plot armor. If anyone else threatened morning glory like they did Kiryu would’t stop until they were a (rubber) smear on the pavement. Yet he lets them get away with doing all kinds of immoral actions for some reason.
Man the inventory size limit is getting in the way of my at least 1 of everything playthrough. Hard to keep track when merchants don't count what you have in the item box.
>never happening
everyone always says this but they never say why it wouldn't happen because their explanations are stupid >kimura's talent agency scandals
you mean the scandals that he was not involved in to any degree? even if he was involved, japan doesn't give a FRICK if you're a murderer or pedophile as long as you've never been caught snorting drugs. The real reason why we haven't heard about Judgement 3 is because it just isn't ready to be shown yet.
Probably, but the boss of the Hawaiian Haunt almost slaughtered me. I blame all the crown enemies around making it too easy to get overpowered in both level and gear.
what Lv is your Kiryu party? I did all the available side content for Kiryu in chapter 10, including all the 3 sections of the Yokohama Underground.
Now, all of my party members are Lv 50 and Kiryu is 51. I've yet to fight Sawashiro, so am I to assume I basically broke the balancing for the rest of my playthrough?
For what it's worth, the Completion List equivalents don't care about Dondoko, at all. At least it's time-consuming and not the dumb bullshit in 5 with the Coliseum as Akiyama and Shinada, where I made the mistake of playing on Hard.
Okay so after playing IW this is how I would rank these games based on their story/characters:
Y3 > Lost Judgment > Judgment > Gaiden > Y6 > Y0 > Y1 > Y5 > Y2 > Y4 > Y8 > Y7 > Ishin
He's one of the better "mastermind" antagonists but that isn't saying much.
>walking near Seiryo High with Kiryu's party >one of those walk and talk dialogue thingies pops up >they're discussing the myths that schools used to have back in the day >Seonhee mentions rumors of a fake corpse walking around at night inside Seiryo High
I love seeing that someone in RGG actually cares enough about the side content in a "separate series" enough to make such an obscure reference that probably only 1/5000 people will ever notice
If you go into Beef Zone they make a fricking Kim reference.
What the FRICK was the point of Mirror Face? Why not just use Tendo who probably could've been convinced to betray Aoki (previous scenes even hints that Tendo doesn't like him that much).
They probably wanted to do that but then realized that Tendo killed Arakawa and thought it'd feel off.
Is there actually just a rundown shithole in the corner of the city that a gang controls, and they just go out wandering the streets at night, but only on a specific night?
Outside of the combat, LJ was dogshit.
Horrible setting, lobotomized Yagami to make the villain seem grey morally, plot falls apart before the halfway point and focusing most side content to that school sucked.
Even with how annoying it can be sometime. I love how Yagami just keeps shitting on people making up reasons to justify their deeds
>Ehara: I may have accidentally got Sawa involved but that doesn't mean I'm the one who killed her. >Yagami: By that logic, then the bullies weren't the one who killed your son.
The whole point of Ichiban's character is that the shitty circumstances of his life were leading him down a bad path in life until Arakawa's blind faith in him turned his life around. His entire life has been about paying that blind faith forward and embodying what he admired most in his role model. That's why he chooses to trust Chitose once and never changes his mind even when she betrays him another two times. Ichiban knows what it takes for someone to rise from the lowest point in their life and knows that being a steadfast support pushing people to do the right thing helps to make it possible.

yes but this is yakuza logic and kiryu has never killed anyone despite throwing grenades and firing rpgs at helicopters so the pipe bomb would never malfunction like that

I honestly don't get chad vibes off him. I think he tries to be a chad, but fails. It goes beyond his gay tight jeans and chain wallet too. No way Yagami out-chads Kiryu.

kiryu has chad personality but also does the most cucked shit ever so it's hard to decide, but yes you are correct in no way can yagami be considered "chad" when he dresses like a homosexual teenager with his skinny jeans and leather jacket
The villain wasn't morally grey. There was a clear bad guy and another guy who seems reasonable at first but then the villain was the guy taken to the conclusion of his ideals.
>walking near Seiryo High with Kiryu's party >one of those walk and talk dialogue thingies pops up >they're discussing the myths that schools used to have back in the day >Seonhee mentions rumors of a fake corpse walking around at night inside Seiryo High

>Kiryu meets Kashiwagi in Yokohama >A great scene where both men clearly recognize each other, but keep prettending that they don't simply because both of them are so determined to leave their past lives behind
Abosulte. Fricking. KINO. >fast-forward to Kiryu's bucket list event in the bar >It turns out Kiryu's dumb ass actually didn't recognize him
FRICK YOOOOOOOU RGG
My surprise when LAD brought a whole crew back from death to just keep them as side characters for the most part. The frick was the point of bringing back Kashiwagi if he was just gonna literally pretend that nothing happened past his “death” forever ago and remain a nameless bartender?
>fast-forward to Kiryu's bucket list event in the bar >It turns out Kiryu's dumb ass actually didn't recognize him
i cant tell if this is bait, or you are actually just a brown person that is unable to read between the lines.
Did you already buy the batteries from one of the ABC stores and pawn shops? I can't remember which ones they are but check them all and you should find them pretty quickly because there aren't that many..
>"Tendo-san... you might've been directly responsible for KILLING MY FRICKING FATHER... but since you helped me defeat those Omi goons that one time I'm willing to let that slide, call me whenever you feel like killing yourself and I'll do my best to help you feel better!"
- Infinite Wealth Ichiban, probably.
What the FRICK was the point of Mirror Face? Why not just use Tendo who probably could've been convinced to betray Aoki (previous scenes even hints that Tendo doesn't like him that much).
Does anyone have some tips for levelling up Kiryu's faster? I'm nearly done with all the reminisce spots and everything is around level 7, where everything is super slow
the spoilers really aren't a detriment at all for this game. even if you go in knowing how it ends or whatever, there's always some other smaller details or shit like side stories you haven't heard anything about so that will at least still contribute to something
4 has the most infuriating moment in the series for me and it doesn't even involve the rubber bullets.
It's everything after you beat Munakata >Tanimura throws away his gun as he's not willing to kill Munakata >naturally, Munakata grabs it and shoots Akiyama >somehow, the MONEY in his breast pocket is enough to block the bullet >Tanimura throws away the gun AGAIN >Munakata gets to suicide and not face any real punishment
That shit's always stupid, and though it happened in the series before (it got Rikiya killed), having it happen twice in one scene is just infuriating.
Was funny to me for the ham fisted metaphor about Akiyama relation with money. Munakata was such a non character save for the moment he instantly figured out the rubber bullet plot I don't mind him
the funniest part of 4 to me is that it gets so convoluted all the protagonists just give up on trying to figure out what's happening and just decide to put a bunch of money on top of millennium tower and beat up anyone who shows up
Why do they give you Han and Zhao so fricking late? I am using the mod that fixes stats so why the FRICK would I use someone with no jobs when everyone else has level 20+ in everything minimum? Also, not using them means I don't have to run around and do pink boxes that I am sick of by now
>Jingu... You may have cucked me by impregnated my one true love after taking advantage of her amnesia and past trauma while I was locked 10 years behind bars... but I forgive you. I forgive you and I will happily be the one to step up and help take care of young Haruka while you'll be atoning for your government corruption behind bars for the next decade. And when you come out a changed man, your family will be there, waiting for you as well to step up and be the kind of man, father and leader those two women deserve in their lives. But until then... I will be taking care of Haruka and Yumi for you... Because you are like family to me now... and family got to stick out for each other, right?
>Ebina, you may have tried to get a child killed, kill me and all of my friend, and ship a bunch of people who have already served their time and are trying to reintegrate into society to be nuclear waste packaging slaves on an island somewhere but I understand your pain and beg of you to please please please be good and realize it's all actually my fault
This one makes no sense. Ichiban went out of his way to drag Howaiian Jingu to prison so he could rot there for the rest of his life and even denied him his suicide attempt.
This one makes no sense. Ichiban went out of his way to drag Howaiian Jingu to prison so he could rot there for the rest of his life and even denied him his suicide attempt.
>This one makes no sense
exactly. it's literally THAT easy to just write a scene / concept the same way Yokoyama does
>63 hours in >chapter 13 >plastic surgery asiatic joins the party
This might be my least favorite game in the series. The story and the content do not justify the length.
Do you think Date took the Harbor Light bartender and shot her to death after the events of IW? >Always in the background listening >Knows more about Kiryu than half the cast after all the conversations >Constantly watching, always hearing
the kiryu substory shit makes absolutely zero sense because most of them are locked until after the vtuber exposed to the world that he's alive anyway but he still keeps up the LARP and everybody still has no idea he's alive aside from akiyama
>Nakajima's drink link dives into the Tatara-Chan video and wanted to keep Kiryu under raps >Very next drink link with Kaoru goes into depth about the impossibility of Kiryu dying despite everything he's been through, ignoring the fact that there's A FRICKING POPULAR VIDEO GOING AROUND SAYING THAT HE'S ALIVE. AHHHHHHH
HACKoyama
A lot of the chats featuring Adachi are really funny, like that one and how he has his phone upside down for the GPS and he's getting mad at the phone for shitty tech instead.
I think people are exaggerating about the story. It's a mixed bag and yes, I don't think it's as good as 7 or Gaiden, but everything with Kiryu getting closure from Chapters 10-12 is golden and should've happened in fricking 6.
I will agree that everything with Bryce is awful. Do keep in mind the shark isn't that moronic though; 7 has us fight a crane, a wrecking ball, and a bear as a boss.
if they are they're moronic since you fight a tiger in 2, Saejima solos a giant bear in 5 and I'm sure there's other instances I'm forgetting too. but yes everything else related to Bryce was completely awful including his terrible engrish
The improbable part of fighting tigers and bears is that a human could win, not that they're fighting a tiger or a bear.
Fighting a giant, maneating shark and a kraken at all is just out there even by this series standards.

i'm not sure how a giant man eating bear is any more or less ridiculous than a giant man eating shark
I am in 100% agreement but I thought the minigames were fun, I liked the interactions between characters a lot, and stuff like this hit just right
So there's just no way I'm going to say it's a bad game because of the story while 2, 4 and 5 exist (and 5 is one of my favorites despite the story, it's dripping with gameplay content)
>everything with Kiryu getting closure from Chapters 10-12 is golden and should've happened in fricking 6
I have mixed feelings about this. I think what we got in IW is a bit too much fan service. But I really don't like 6 and how detached it felt from the first 6 games.
>Sorry Chitose no I can't frick your young flexible petite body even though you're begging me to because I'm still loyal to a woman who said she only wants to be friends and then ghosted me for a year
>Saejima >dicky lover, can't get any though >Shinada >obsessed with a literal prostitue, cucked >Akiyama and Tanimura >no b***hes, only girl Akiyama liked died, probably too much of a pussy to frick Hana
>probably too much of a pussy to frick Hana
had they not immediately given up on Akiyama as an actual protagonist and also stood with Aya Hirano. Akiyama and Hana would've probably been a constant "will they, won't they" like Ichiban and Saeko are going to be. 4 literally teased it with Hana going in for a kiss when she thought Akiyama would and then Akiyama ruining the moment to be an architect.

>given up on Akiyama as a protagonist immediately
they didn't though. he came back in 5 and had more of a starring position in 6 than anyone else did but you could only play as Kiryu since it was supposed to be his final game.
The only reason he's not in 7 is because his VA was busy

>Saejima >dicky lover, can't get any though >Shinada >obsessed with a literal prostitue, cucked >Akiyama and Tanimura >no b***hes, only girl Akiyama liked died, probably too much of a pussy to frick Hana
it's truly over
>Saejima: cucked by the law
Never connected that. The only protag to avert that fate is fricking Kaito.
no shit moron but Ichiban clearly thought she was and rejected her because he was still obsessed with Saeko, whether she actually was or was not is irrelevant to the point
anderson didn't really speak engrish he just spoke very stilted and awkward but he still pronounced things generally okay and didn't have a strong accent
that's the point, they should've found some white dude on the street to voice him or just switched to the dub track for the english scenes. heck there's actually plenty of times where npcs speak english where they just use the english dub/english voices for both versions
it's incredibly jarring. sometimes they'll use the english dub which sounds okay, other times it sounds like they just got a random white dude off the street so the english sounds fine but it's godawful voice acting like that corrupt cop, other times it's just blatantly a japanese guy struggling to pronounce english
>was like over 90 years old
Why the frick did they even lock him up then instead of just putting a bullet through his head?
There's really no justice to be had at that point anymore since for all you're aware, he could suddenly dropped dead of poor health or old age itself after one even a year into serving his sentence.
it's been like this for a few days now. There are two English mangling fricks who admitted they haven't played the game and "looked up leaks" to "know it's a bad game"
like I want opinions from morons who didn't play the thing and watched a video like moron zoomers
>two people in particular means everyone
frick off moron, I already said the story is flawed as frick but why I'm not going to say it's a bad game
Go steal beans or rape your aunt or whatever the frick you 3rd world shit eaters do for fun
I'll shit on the writing all I want since it sucked coming off the heels of Gaiden and even 7. About the same as LJ though; guess it was a warning sign.
With that said, I liked almost everything else about it and would rank it as a high entry in the series.
who cares about the story since 2,4, and 5 are all worse? Everything else about the game is great and that is the point; shitposting ESL frickheads who didn't play it can't possibly know that.
I preferred the island over like the sixth fricking trek up the Millennium Tower for the endgame.
Seriously, can they really not think of a better locale for the endgame? 0 had a boat, 2 had a construction zone, and 3 had a hospital roof. They clearly can do something else.
>Kiryu getting cancer in the uranium pits because he's just there and has to be there >Bryce's Epstein Island to groom people to work for him >Hanawa dying in a really lame way despite being built up through most of Gaiden. >Cheetos betrays the party on several occasion but gets forgiven >Eiji indirectly kills two people and betrays the party when they were so close to the finish line >Kiryu is revealed to be alive via the Tatara channel but lol it hardly matters for the Life Links that happen AFTER that. >Rubber machine gun >Rubber fall
>Somehow less dumb than rubber bullets according to some
cheetos being forgiven I can understand since she tries to help the party of her own volition due to her guilty conscience before she's even exposed to be a traitor but forgiving eiji and begging ebina was moronic
I just spent the past 6 hours on dondoko island. I'm not leaving til its at 5 stars.
I cant figure put how to put down paths. It keeps telling me to connect them even though their connected to the built in path.
Are you being a dumbass like I was and thinking that you have to build paths unit by unit?
You pick where you want to set the path, hold A, press up to decide how long the path should be, then release A.
Where does the story even go from here? This led to practically nothing and Ichiban will now be in his 50s in the next game. Can we get a new protagonist now?
Honestly considering how many fricking times they've jumped plotlines, they could easily go back to one of previous characters like Akiyama and no one would be confused by it outside of newbies who only joined in with 7.
This series has no future if they want to remain topical. The shift towards killing the yakuza from 7 onward is due to Japan's recent anti-yakuza legislature. Either a full reboot or prequels would have to be used.
They're absolutely making Kiwami 3 already and I am not looking forward to it at all. >current DE lighting for Daytime Okinawa >probably a ton of rewrites because Yokoyama hates it >Haruka model already shown to look more goblinlike >Richardson will speak Japanese >Pretty much all major characters like Hamazaki, Kanda, Tamashiro, and Nakahara will be replaced by facescanned actors probably(Tamashiro out of necessity since the actor is dead, but that means we'll lose out on his VA's fun slimeball performance) >a lot of the goofier sex joke/pandering moments like the Kanda QTE or the Kazama bossfight cutscene >the more interesting substories like the murder mystery one will probably be stripped down to be more simple, and others will be replaced with 0 references or they'll turn most of the orphanage moments into substories and take them out of the main quest >Combat will be way too easy both because modern Yakuza is too easy and because they're scared of the criticism 3's combat had >the fun post game modes will be gone >Hostess Maker will be turned into another Yuki and Koyuki thing and the original song will be replaced with As You Like >in general the soundtrack will be worse >VA re-recordings will probably lead to worse performances overall like with K1 and K2
I already know it's coming, too many signs point to it, and I am genuinely against it.
While people exploit 3 by just over relying on counters like Komaki Parry and Tiger Drop. The 3 and 4 combat engine has a lot of fun mechanical setups that the Dragon Engine just doesn't have. 4 makes it a lot more obvious, but 3 has a lot of elements in there that are really cool. The loss of that stuff is honestly one of the things I don't like about dragon engine combat and to a smaller extent, Yakuza 5's combat.
>or they'll turn most of the orphanage moments into substories and take them out of the main quest
Isn't this what people have been asking for since the game released?
there's a lot of signs >Gaiden referencing Inner Fighter >Infinite Wealth having Revelations-like cutscenes for unlocking certain jobs >Infinite Wealth has a remade Yakuza 3 Haruka model that's only used for a few seconds in game(meaning it was definitely made for something else) >Gaiden also ported some Yakuza 3 movesets into the Dragon Engine like Mine's and Richardson's >RGG has 3 projects currently in the works, meaning a remake would make sense as a quickly put out little project as one of the three
I feel like this has to be just some early version of Gaiden or something, because the model is Fake Ryuji from Gaiden

would be interesting to see if they literally just adapt the Ryuji Goda story from RGGO. Would also set an interesting precedent where people start wondering if they'll do that for any other stories from that game. Also would be interesting since pre-Yakuza 5 Shinada is in that, so is Joon-gi Han
>Dragon Engine Combat >Rikkiya and Mine will be re-localised to be blatantly gay >Park will be introduced in a substory as with dozens of other shoehorned foreshadowing to cope with Yokoyama's schizophrenia in later titles >Funny man Majima coming to Okinawa in substories because haha funny stalker man >Changed substories, such as the booba camera angle in the kidnapped dog substory >Kiryu changed to be emotionless and depressed as in Kiwami 1 and 2 >Fly remix will be shit
If I could dissolve the entire studio and put the IP on eternal hiatus, I would do it in a heartbeat. Everything since Zero has just been a barely recognisable mess.

I can't believe you missed the incredibly obvious one of setting up Kashiwagi surviving.
Nah, they're not going to do that. They didn't change the writing in Kiwami 2 to make Kaoru suddenly being written out of the story in Yakuza 3 make more sense, so they probably won't change those blatantly needed changes either.
I like him too. They made him a bit too cucked in this one but I like that they didn't just make him a Kiryu clone like a lot of franchises do when trying to replace their protagonists
>whoever said the main-minigame is trash is a fricking moron kek I'm having a blast
Dondoko island is great until you complete it and realize now everytime you want money you have to let the game idle for 30 minutes.
I'm on ch 12 and I'm missing N37 Yokohama, N5 Kamurocho, and N40 Kamurocho. The game seems like I'm about to get to the point of no return going to the station so I just wanted to be sure if those will appear later. I've done fricking everything else and all the date links and maxed out the awakening. Anyone who beat it/farther than me able to confirm if those are locked until later? I'd be pissed the frick off if I miss out on the last 3 I need to finish the memoirs.
I know for 40 you have to go back and forth between Ichinjo and Kamurocho to visit the hostesses and complete it. The game will tell you when you're at the point of no return though and give you the last chance to finish any business in the city before going to the final dungeon.
Are you aware if I get a chance to complete it in the later chapters than 12? Also i just did a side quest checking up on the 4 stars in Kamurocho and the second part back in Yokohama with the goofy chicken outside. If that is what you are talking about. If you mean the actual hostess activity I've never touched it in this game.
Yes, like the other poster said 14 is the last chapter which is when I completed it. It's not the hostess activity no it's where you have to go to Ijincho to check out the girls restaurant then you can go back to 4 Smile in Kamurocho to complete it. But you can safely progress until Ch. 14 like I said the game tells you when you're at the point of no return.
I think going on the station in 12 will take you back to Ichiban after the boss battle but you'll go back to Kiryu eventually
Are you aware if I get a chance to complete it in the later chapters than 12? Also i just did a side quest checking up on the 4 stars in Kamurocho and the second part back in Yokohama with the goofy chicken outside. If that is what you are talking about. I should also add one of the memoirs you get is definitely locked behind a story mission in 14 it's related to Ono Michio and there's another one related to the Hobo leader so those are assuredly ones you're missing and can't complete yet
Wrong. 7 had the most baby turn based combat ever and the story was a garbage rehash of 1 but every 5 minutes they bashed you over the head with how Ichiban is super nice and not like Kiryu at all. I actually enjoyed the addition of knockback and it made turn based actually fun even if it's still super simple. Story was a mess but there's only 1 good Yakuza story anyways so who cares?
Kiwami 3 will suck, but Kiwami 4 I actually think will be good, because a lot of their typical trappings would actually translate to that game way better >Majima wank means that Saejima will probably get cool stuff that lets him hang out with Majima in Premium Adventure as well as extra scenes that show them when they're younger just being bros >Rikiya Koyama is more confident and open with Saejima so in general they can give Saejima more stuff like actual Karaoke songs and shit like that >Akiyama getting the Cabaret Management minigame would actually make sense >Already uses facescanned actors, but now they'd look even better >they've gotten better at managing multiple protagonists so any story restructuring would be to the game's benefit >Tanimura having a new actor means they can probably do more with the guy during his section since it's less restrictive >they can actually give Kiryu and Tanimura real side modes that aren't just street confrontations but with a different name
the only negatives would probably be the soundtrack being worse honestly, but i feel like overall, a K4 would actually probably turn out good
>Going through Hawaiian Haunt >Floor 2 >A little weak but thats okay >Fight one of these guys, know their moveset already >Except not >Merry Christmas crits and kills Ichiban instantly
Dungeons unlock in Chapter 5(?) but you likely won't have the gear and levels to take on past the 1st sector. Dondoko Island unlocks in Chapter 6 and lets you get a good amount of money to get good gear for the dungeons.
Not-Animal Crossing game in chapter 6 gives you a lump sum of 450k or so total if you complete its campaign. The main money farming method people found seems to be stealing money from dungeon bosses using Housekeeper and Host skills.
The stars on gears roughly indicate the level ranges, right? 1 star = 1~10, 3 = 20~30? Asking because the hawaii minigames are giving 3 and 4 star gear and I'm nearly lvl30. Feels like I should grind the minigames before I outlevel their gear rewards.
>i feel like Kiryu in the spotlight in this was a mistake
Kiryu's scenes were the best part of the game and his storyline was way better than Ichiban's.
what yakuza game should i play after this?
i'm a bit annoyed by the kiryu remembers parts, because it all makes no frickin sense to me since i only played 7 and 8. why does this game provide so much closure for the series even tho 7 seemed like a spinoff where i need no background knowledge?
Because that was a trick to get you to play it and now you need to have played every single game in the series for Kiryu's side stories to land at all.
It really feels like they wanted to do a finale for Kiryu game and a sequel for Ichiban game and they blended them together.
Honestly, gaiden + Kiryu's side should've been its own full length game and Ichiban should've gotten his own hawaii game where he actually gets to meet his brother more than once.
i could just as well skip the rememberance cutscenes and the dialogues with this date guy cause for me all the characters are WHO
>i could just as well skip the rememberance cutscenes and the dialogues with this date guy cause for me all the characters are WHO
You shouldn't even do them if you haven't played the previous games, they won't make any sense.

if you want to catch up the intended playing order is
0 > Kiwami 1 > Kiwami 2 > 3 > 4 > 5 > 6
If you really want to be a purist you can do Original 1 > Original 2 > 3 > 4 > 5 > 0 > Kiwami 1 > 6 =>(order doesn't really matter between these two) Kiwami 2
but speaking as someone who started with the original PS2 games there's really no reason to play them over the Kiwami remakes other than muh sovl

oh I forgot about Gaiden which you'd play after 7 but you already played 7 so after 6
Hanawa and kiryu's friendship? Retconned

Daidoji's grasp and competence? Retconned
Nishitani and Shishido? We didn't see them but they're probably retconned too.

minus the multiple improvements on gameplay, yamai was the best part of this sad excuse for a story and it's not even fricking funny (along with a few kiryu story beats)
i AM glad that they pretty much instantly out bryce as being the overseer because as soon as he was introduced it was clearly obvious. i honestly thought that when wong tou was telling ichi and the crew, he was going to get joon-gi'd and yokoyama was going to drag it out for multiple chapters as if it wasn't expected
>yamai was the best part
this is true but why did they have to make him such a giga cuck. he's probably the most cucked character in the franchise which is really saying something
I'm going to be mad if RGG takes the objectively true criticism of Yakuza 3 being the weird as hell pacing of the story and decides to leave in the 20 minute exposition scene but take the orphanage stuff out of the main story. I feel like that's going to happen too because not enough people complain about the 20 minute exposition moment
depends on the job
my Tenis Ace Chitose has Bullet damage seal, MP Siphon and crit rate
so far hers is the only one i got, gonna go for Ichi's Hero bat and Kunoichi dagger next
Honestly, frick all the shit the ESLs are crying about, the game's biggest story sin is making MUH NUKES the villain.
The whole disposal plot is moronic as frick and the US already has advanced disposal techniques that don't require a cult on an island. Japan will be able to buy their services if they can't already because the first tests two years back were all green.
The plot being moronic as frick with things like this is par for the course so of course everybody knows and nobody cares that nuclear waste isn't actually a real life issue.
That's just backdrop. Nobody cares about things like the nuclear waste disposal not making sense. You might as well complain about the fact that the yakuza rebrand as a non-profit organization with full government support, despite that not being how any of that works.
We told you but no you kept saying "lol still buying" and "poorgay cope"
Why do you lie?
Here come's the buyers remorse homosexuals coming in to tell you the rotten shit they ate is actually good and you should in fact try it out for yourself as well.

OP is a wiener sucking homosexual moron
defend this
It'll pay off in the sequel bro, trust Yokoyama. He has a plant. It will all come together in the sequel and you will feel ashamed for having shat on his massive genius level writing that you just can't comprehend because of your low IQ.
>this guy, who you knew for like two days, gets Hanawa and Wong Tou killed, pushes a little girl down the stairs with a bomb on her, and wanted you and everyone else like you dead
>he was a good friend; Imma take a mob beating for him and not defend myself at all during it
DUDE THEY HAD LUNCH TOGETHER
YOU HEARTLESS FRICKING MONSTER
Eiji was a bigger psychopath than Masato ever could be.
>bro the yakuza want to kill you so go to prison im sure there are no yakuza there
>okay so your foot is fricked so i won't call the police to come get you i'll just carry you on my back through the mom i know is outside
so are you just going to post the same shit in every thread? do you really have nothing to do? and, no i'm not going to engage with your demand because you're a moron and anyone who takes you at face value is, too.
Said by Yokoyama himself
I feel like
nailed it
the island and sujimon stuff sucked
pretty true
they're at their best when they don't add too much bloat
The English VA is so fricking terrible how did they think any of this was acceptable just have everyone speak in nihongo FRICK
Tomi's EN voice is great though.
i like that in english the va has to fake speaking engrish lmao
I hate that Yokoyama couldn't just let Kiryu go, and had to self-insert his cancer experience to make Kiryu go out like a weak b***h, unlike walking off into the sunset like a legend.
I'm noticing this series struggling with protagonists after their debut game in some way or another
>Kasuga in this game
>Akiyama not being bad in 5 but not really adding much to the story
>Saejima in 5 being a repeat of 4's prison arc but worse
>Haruka's idol bullshit if you count her
>Yagami loses his appeal after his character arc finished
Even Kiryu showed signs of stagnation starting from 4
If the thing about there being a new ip is true I'm looking forward to it, this studio seems to do better with clean slates
It was Ryosuke Horii who was a cancer survivor
More than one person made this game's plot lol
I think Ichiban would be fine if Kiryu wasn’t in the game
I think the problem lies with the refusal to move on from him, so while he can be fun, everyone else suffers
cope. your shit character is already boring after 1 game.
nah they went full moron with ichiban in 8
just like yagami in lost judgment
yokoyama keeps writing himself into a wall which is why he keeps kiryu around and gives him cancer to farm sympathy for surviving cancer himself
yokoyama didn't write on the judgement games.
i didn't imply he did I said "they" meaning the writers in general and narrowed in on yokoyama because he still has to approve scripts
oops this was meant for
they should've let Kiryu go after the 3rd game, arguably the 2nd
at this point just roll with it
I want to hope that the absolute state of Kiryu in the ending is a sign that they'll finally let him rest, but I know they won't.
>improves on almost every aspect of 7’s gameplay
>is worse than 7
Explain
Worse writing
Worse side content
Worse substories
Worse music.
Improving on turn-based shit is the definition of polishing a turd. I'ts still a turd.
Gondawara ripping up his diapees was the only real substory in Honolulu that I remember. They were all just so dull.
You're lying if you don't remember the traffic dodging substories because of how bullshit they were.
you forgot worse characters (except yamai)
everyone bigs up tomi but I didn't find him that all interesting nor did I find chitose interesting
That was covered under worse writing.
Seriously, how do you write something worse than Mirror Face and coin locker babies?
I mostly agree with you although I actually like Nanba much more in 8 than I did in 7. He's much better as a foil to Kiryu.
yeah he's alright but date could've done this outside of his side stuff
7's gameplay is ass compared to everything before it.
Bring her as a replacement to Adachi in 9, NOW
(I love Adachi but he is gonna be too old to be a party member)
>he is gonna be too old
Like that's going to stop writers if they want to have him lmao
Unless you mean his voice actor, in which case fair, he's still active but getting to that retirement age bracket.
adachi is kept young at heart by lusting after some beach babes
> same model from kiwami 2
Yokoyama..
It's annoying how afraid are they of aging them.
They finally aged Kiryu a bit; it just took intense chemotherapy to do it.
I honestly really like this look too.
enjoy it while it lasts *cough*
im glad i spent all that time guilt tripping daigo into running the tojo clan *cough* it was funny
He's basically a skeleton though.
ahaha thnx for reminding
She canonically got BLEACHED
she says she's unmarried thoughever and still longs for kiryu
That's what they all say
she thinks he's dead anon why would she lie to Date
>why would a woman lie
have sex
I do. Specifically with Asian women. WMAF is the most common interracial pairing btw.
>has to settle for asian women
grim
>ricecel is seething
Brootal
>龍が如く
like a dragon?
ok but why was it previously known as
>yah KOO zah
and what does this name change mean for the average not japanese person? and also are sega moronic? (unrelated question)
It was always called Like a Dragon in Japan. It was renamed Yakuza in the west to try and appeal to the GTA market.
Why are they here
I am surprised they didn't even get a substory.
They're Yokohama detectives, The Liumang and Geomijil were testing how good they were
>shitposters have gaslit enough people into thinking the body switching and high school panty seller substories are actually pro-trans messages
actually pretty funny.
this is what happens when gatekeeping isn't enforced by the the audience or even the devs themselves
the best part about the panty seller one is that quote is literally meant to be the WRONG answer, because he's saying this in defense of buying a child's used underwear
These aren't even good examples of the point they're trying to make. Kiryu was patronizing Earth Angel regularly and helping the owner without judgment in canon substories as far back as the original game. They just don't like to draw attention to it because it undermines their false dichotomy because he only does that when he's running the bar.
>Ichiban doesn't even fight his half-brother and try to give him a tearful talking down to
>it's kiryu asking him not to bully his friends
PLEASE I BEG YOU ON TOP OF YOU TO NOT TO THIS EBGINA PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE I PROSTRATE MYSELF LIKE A homosexual AND I BEG PLEASE
FORGIVE ME EBINNAAAAAAAA
WAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH
>*passes out from plot induced, nuclear waste cancer*
But even Kiryu doubted that his nuclear waste exposure caused it given how far it had spread by the time of his diagnosis.
I'LL EVEN KISS YOU IF YOU WANT IT
JUST DON'T BE A MEANIE ANYMORE
Kiryu could probably save the whole world by offering kisses.
it's true
machine gun kiss is real
What was up with Ichiban thinking that the only thing Yamai might envy about Kiryu is his breasts? They're nice breasts, but come on
It's honestly my fave yakuza thus far. Cry more.
>these threads keep getting made by morons who haven't played the game and who admitted to looking up leaks for the game before it came out
Leaks wouldn't mean anything. There's literally nothing to spoil in this game because the writing goes nowhere. This is coming from someone who avoided the leaks like the plague.
I too get my opinions for people who have literally not played the game in question, good sir!
it's no surprise you type like a fricking redditor
the game simply isn't at good as 7 or Gaiden
30-35 hours of this was me afk
> playing yakuzers on pc
ngmi
>our plan is to just put it in a cave
Couldn't any country do this, why even pay someone to find a remote island to do this in your own territory
i don't even understand why they're putting it in a fricking cave when we see a massive man-made storage well the first time the island is introduced in a cutscene
i think the point was that they are storing it intentionally in a poor, low safety way but were putting up a front that it's more well put together to get public support.
>punting up a front
but the front works better than some cave lmao}
the cave should be like a last resort
Why do you even participate in them?
Do you deliberately join threads that make you mad?
>Kiryu plot is about how nuclear energy is bad and gave him cancer
>Ichiban plot is about how nuclear energy is bad and is ruining the environment
I know why they're doing this, and it's fricking pathetic.
I nearly forgot the nuclear energy being bad thing was an ESG incentive given to writers who want to do something related to shit about climate change and whatnot.
It's moronic as frick since nuclear energy IS legit a good source of power as long as you have competent people on staff who know how to handle things around. You aren't going to have any major frickups unless you actually get hit by some natural disaster.
poorgay who can't buy a game still throwing a fit I see. Denuvo is based because it made him seething for a week straight and counting
What do you think is going through the barkeep's head through all of the life links
Date san killed her at some point and throw her corpse into a river
this whole "you haven't played the game" rhetoric is so fricking lame
stop making a video game your entire personality so you feel personally attacked any time there is any criticism about it
you can like something while holding some criticisms about certain aspects of it
fricking brainwashed morons
and you can admit that people are being fricking babies ever since leaks came out, yeah the plot is messy but it's nothing fricking new, yakuza 5 exists, and 8 is new yakuza 5 with the bloat
you can bet most of these gaiden wank people were kvetching over gaiden in gaiden threads, these kind of people are just waste of breath and i know someone who actually acts like this
"filler" criticism is completely moronic, it directly continues stuff in 7 and gaiden
yes, the story needed tighter focus, and the discrepancies with gaiden being a thing is moronic considering gaiden was written after this, the symbolism is there but the plotting isn't paced well and can be incoherent
it's still a great game and i had a blast past week going through it, the shameless fanservice of kiryu chapters had me giggle like a little girl while playing through them
you could see that one of points of contention that people had before release with it being set in america was completely unfounded, the game reeked with japan and was completely japanese to the point most of characters in hawaii were still japanese
i hope they keep improving upon the formula in the new judgment, new gaiden and 9
i hope they give him makeover at some point, i hate his 6 face
>and you can admit that people are being fricking babies ever since leaks came out
I wouldn't know. I avoided the leaks. I don't understand spoiling yourself on purpose, that's fricking stupid.
I think the 5 comparison is fair.
except i think 5 had better side content
the island and sujimon stuff in 8 sucked
same with a lot of the re-sued substories
I fricking hated how they made everyone around him inept to fit his plans. Daidoji was the worst offence, but the club scene was fricking painful.
>AIEEE, TEAR GAS.
>QUICKLY, WE MUST CRAWL UP A STAIRCASE TO HIM AND HIS MASKED GOONS INSTEAD OF USING THE DOOR RIGHT NEXT TO US
That whole sequence was moronic because pushing Lani down the stairs with the gas cannister served no purpose. It was just shock value the immediately gets tossed aside within seconds.
>stop that man has to teef
no seriously why doesn't ichiban question how the frick he's there
even if he hopped into a wheelchair accessible cab right after ichiban and told the cabbie to follow tomi - it takes a long time to get a wheelchair bound passanger safely secured into a vehicle and exiting a vehicle
It's genuinely pathetic how this one homosexual can somehow outsmart an entire corporation of special agents funded by the government or whatever. It's like they really just want to go out of their way to portray their own country's government and authority figures or whatever as being as inept and moronic as possible.
>Used his real name all along
>Daidoji knew he was a part of bleach japan
>Daidoji knew that bleach japan fricking hates all yakuza, ichiban and the arakwa family
>Daidoji knew that Eiji in particular hated Arakawa family due to his hit and run
>They don't do anything and just let him chill out in their hideout
What the frick did they mean by this?
It was Kiryu's fault. Hanawa trusted that Kiryu wouldn't bring any meanies into the clubhouse.
Nanba is probably my favorite character in 8.
in the next game it'll be revealed he's Tomi's dad
I completely forgive the stupid twist in 7 with his characterisation in this game
Does Nanba even utter the word "brother" once in 8 because I didn't see a single instance after 100 hours
No.
RGG has never made a "bad" game imo. There are good ones and rather mediocre one. I classify 8 as one of the more mediocre ones like 6 and Dead Souls.
Ishin Kiwami is legit a bad game.
it's not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination
it just had certain bad ideas implemented into it
t. pre-ordered the original from playasia way back when
Why is there such a disconnect between this game and Gaiden? In Gaiden Kiyru was fully committed to the Joyru identity and did not budge for anyone. In 8 he's back to using the Suzuki alias, and immediately drops the act with every single person he meets.
IIRC Gaiden was written after 8. Explains the bait about Hanawa's identity.
GIVE HIM HIS OWN FRICKING GAME
PEOPLE HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR THIS
GIVE HIM SOME FLIPPY-SHIT STYLE LIKE YAGAMI OR SOME SHIT
FRICK
They can't afford his VA anymore. It's why he was completely absent from 7.
YEAH WE CAN'T AFFORD HIM BUT HERE'S DANNY TREJO EVERYBODY
EYY HE USES MACHETES HOW FRICKING SUBTLE LMAO
If they can afford to have multimillionaire streamers advertise the game, they can afford Akiyama.
Actually, what the frick happened with nick?
he wouldn't be in 8 if the couldn't afford him
>Friend is playing dubbed for some god forsaken reason
>Watch him play to see the differences
>He's at dondoko island
>Gachapin yells "HIP HIP HOORAY" instead of EI EI OH
I fricking hate Magenta so much; his mistranslations caught on in mainstream localizations.
This is an incredibly moronic thing to be upset about. It's a localization, not a mistranslation.
No, magenta ruined kamen rider gaim subs forever. Seeing anything that reminds me of his travesty is upsetting.
Why did Tomi eat the envelope?
He was hungry.
chinkoids are willing eat literally anything. be thankful it wasn't a dog he gulped down in one swoop.
he was pissing himself
Has anyone done a job tierlist yet.
I really want to see Samurai and Housemaid top the charts
Samurai, Housemaid and Barmaid are up there.
The story is moronic but the gameplay is really fun
I', in 12 chapter, about to go meet Daigo and lads. Almost 50 lvl. Should I clear yoko dungeon for kiryu armor for final boss including or am i already overleveled?
Overleveled. You'll be fine.
nice, tnx
>DUDE IT'S ONO MICHO AGAIN
>DUDE IT'S POCKET RACER AGAIN
>DUDE IT'S THE DAIPER DUDE AGAIN
How the frick was gondawara the only good hawaii substory?
Nah, this was great too. A lot of them were really nothingburger though. The one with kid selling lemonade kind of ticked me off, because they just leave the kid with his uncle abusing him and we're supposed to believe fist correction instantly fixed everything that ever happened. Vapid wholesomeness is pretty boring and I believe it doesn't work with Ichiban well because that's his normal state, he needs to persevere through more fricked up situations.
>Nah, this was great too.
This was a maximum woman moment and it had me dying.
What happened with fighter in gaiden? I skipped pocket racer in that one.
He's the bartender at Pocket Circuit bar in Sotenbori where the adults drink and the kids play Pocket Circuit or something. And then at the end he's revealed to be the same Pocket Circuit Fighter we know and he's the final boss.
So, literally nothing from gaiden was cnaon?
That's not him. You are face blind.
Did you play Gaiden? It's literally meant to be him.
His teacher is OG Fighter. Gaiden is concurrent with 7 so Fighter is in Yokohama during that period
Why the frick would he have this photo otherwise?
There's another random old pocket fighter who learned from the OG and has the 80's picture of the OG fighter and Kiryu who morons get confused by, since OG Fighter is doing dragon kart bullshit at that time in a completely different city.
Are you serious? I'm even less motivated to buy the game now. Fricking come up with something new!
WHY DO THEY WAIT SO FRICKING LONG TO UNLOCK JOBS HOLY FRICK IS IT BECAUSE THE LEVEL SCALING IS BAD BECAUSE YOU NEED TO KEEP SWAPPING FRICKING PARTIES LMAO FRICKING KILL ME
HOW THE FRICK DO I PLAY MAHJONG?
I CAN'T FRICKING FIGURE IT OUT.
I KEEP GETTING MY ASS KICKED EVERY TIME I PLAY.
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I love my homie Yamai.
S tier: kazuki and yuuya, Kaoru, taxi bro, date san finale
A tier: Akiyama, Taichi
Shit: literal whos from Onomichi, Haruka (lmao)
Yakuza was never good
I originally skipped 7 because I hated the turn based RPG stuff but somehow mamaged to finish 8 just fine. Am I misremembering how boring and slow 7's combat was or are there improvements here I'm not noticing?
No. 8's combat is a big improvement over 7.
Damn, this made me want to go back and give 7 another shot
I finally got through the start to get to Hawaii and praying it improves. Lost Judgement and Gaiden already had me skeptical bad I'm losing faith by the chapter with infinite wealth.
Chapter 4 gets better and you can actually start playing the game.
The fact they teased Kaoru and then b***hed out on having Kiryu meet her again makes me really mad. I get that Yokoyama really likes 'muh yumi' but Kaoru being there at all means he's aware people like her and want her back. So he'll just bait us.
Yakuslop
this series had a few good games, but so much of it is endless slop.
No Gaiden was way worse.
how so?
Trash combat, ruined sotenbori and a shit plot.
Being able to easily air juggle enemies doesn't suddenly make the combat good.
It really wasn't.
Plot was decent, combat was good.
Daigo literally did nothing wrong
not did he do anything right
but honestly it's kiryu's fault
Daigo
>held off the unpopular military expansion bill that would've probably failed if it came out the Tojo was involved anyway
>kept Mine on board, who made the clan more money than ever
>quickly makes attempts to resolve any conflict with the Ueno Seiwa while preventing any loss of assets like Kamurocho Hills, even if it ends up putting Majima in a holding cell for a few days
>let's all the traitors in the Tojo Clan kill each other while he uncovers the hidden Omi branch that was secretly sneaking their way into Nagoya
>discovers the Omi's 7th chairman's plan to try to take over both clans and almost stopped it entirely if he didn't have sympathy for the guy
>Stops the Omi and Tojo feud the instant he gets out of prison
>Works out a resolution with the Omi and Tojo to dissolve both clans once the laws were directly destroying their organizations
>Starts a business that was effectively providing employment for former yakuza trying to get back into society that would've worked had Tatara not shown up
>somehow kills 3 dudes after waking up from a coma
daigo being a frick-up is a meme you dip
what isn't a meme is everything being kiryu's fault
nah, Kiryu was right, he knew he wasn't actually suited to run the Tojo Clan and that's why he wanted out. How was he supposed to know a guy that Kazama trusted deeply and claimed owed his life to what Kazama believed in was actually a secret Korean who was harboring a 25 year long feud
The guy being an Omi executive already made it a terrible idea
> Literally nobody in the Dojima clan can keep their shit together and Kiryu has to step in to clean it up all the time despite not even wanting that life
> It is somehow his fault.
The only way that argument even begins to make sense is that Kiryu lets himself get pulled into that bullshit all the time.
All this and he still only shows up in 8 as the middle-aged "son" that Kiryu never even loved
Im on chapter 11 and am not waiting for the korean to join the team what skills/jobs should I be grinding? I intend on doing new game+
>Tomi records Dwayne pissing himself after he fakeouts murdering him as insurance if he ever betrays them
>Doesn't use it when he kidnaps Lani and tries to murder them.
What the frick was the point of it?
dont even get me started when they fricking bodied everyone in the club and cheetoes still chose to run up the stairs with lani instead of the OPPOSITE FRICKING DIRECTION
or when the goons start flooding into the theater to murder Akane and they go AIIIEEEE there's too many we must flee into this construction site for no raisin
>Eiji somehow has cameras in every corner of the construction site and starts monologuing at you.
Holy frick he's so insufferable. His constant asspulls were insufferable, it was warcraft tier writing.
>only has enough money to afford putting cameras in one area
>your party just to happens to waltz into said area
I guess because they figured he doesn't really care about it if they're fanatics anyway.
well i guess i could unlock geodancer, whatever that mea- DEAR LORD i now want to frick chitose repeatedly until my hips shatter
I wish the protags weren't fricking doormats. Like you could probably murder everyone Ichiban knows and it is likely he would forgive you. I really need to play a proper RPG after this.
Ichiban forgiving his enemies is way more powerful than just beating them down to a pulp.
Okay Jesus. I prefer my enemies dead to prevent a judas situation.
Eiji didn't deserve shit
>boo hoo I lost my job because of some yakuza
>so I'm gonna help commit yakuza genocide and help kill a little girl
Fricking Masato was less of a prick than him yet he died while this clown gets to have a second chance?
Masato actually killed people
So did Eiji.
Who?
Hanawa, Wong Tou. He enabled all of the deaths caused by Bryce and the Seiryu clan.
Masato can also use his dick
Are you sure about that?
I'm sure Eiji's dick works too, considering that he's not crippled at all
Eiji got Hanawa and Wong Tou killed.
But he can't use his dick. So it evens out.
Considering Nanba was the first party member and had Baka Mitai as his karaoke song, I can believe that Tomizawa was meant to have Baka Darou as his karaoke song until they got his likeness cast, since the lyrics match him really well.
>Build Hanawa up a lot in Gaiden
>He gets like 1 minute of screentime then gets shot to death
L
EHM
A
YOOO
The strangest part is that Gaiden was fricking written after 8. This begs the question, why did they decide to build so much importance for character they'll instantly kill in 8, and why didn't they give him at least a bit more during the time they had between Gaiden and 8.
>infant homosexualry
take your denuvo and jam it up your ass
I think they're saving that for 9. Kiryu's half of this game is basically all about giving him some motivation to fight back.
Just got to chapter 5. When does it get good? It's also shockingly easy. I remember 7 being a little harder.
You're around where it's good, at chapter 9 everything goes down hill.
Thanks and Aloha.
Man the inventory size limit is getting in the way of my at least 1 of everything playthrough. Hard to keep track when merchants don't count what you have in the item box.
So let's talk about 9. Since they are definitely making 9. Or do you think we get a Judgement 3 first?
>Judgement 3
never happening
Judgement 1 had the best story imo. 2 was meh but the gameplay was my favorite.
Why not? Not like Sega can't hire new talent that is willing to show their face on PC
>never happening
everyone always says this but they never say why it wouldn't happen because their explanations are stupid
>kimura's talent agency scandals
you mean the scandals that he was not involved in to any degree? even if he was involved, japan doesn't give a FRICK if you're a murderer or pedophile as long as you've never been caught snorting drugs. The real reason why we haven't heard about Judgement 3 is because it just isn't ready to be shown yet.
Doesn't Koga literally tease Judgment 3? He flees to Hawaii at the end of Neo Keihin Gang story.
He says 'overseas', but considering the series tendency to reuse it could only be Hawaii
Did they nerf bosses in 8?
I'm BARELY over leveled and buffed up and I'm quite literally shredding through every fight
Probably, but the boss of the Hawaiian Haunt almost slaughtered me. I blame all the crown enemies around making it too easy to get overpowered in both level and gear.
Only hard boss I fought was Robo Michio (Solo), that Destructo Beam spam was rough.
what Lv is your Kiryu party? I did all the available side content for Kiryu in chapter 10, including all the 3 sections of the Yokohama Underground.
Now, all of my party members are Lv 50 and Kiryu is 51. I've yet to fight Sawashiro, so am I to assume I basically broke the balancing for the rest of my playthrough?
My dick is huge.
IW seems like the most bullshit game in the series to 100%.
For what it's worth, the Completion List equivalents don't care about Dondoko, at all. At least it's time-consuming and not the dumb bullshit in 5 with the Coliseum as Akiyama and Shinada, where I made the mistake of playing on Hard.
>Conversation with kiryu, daigo, majima and saejima happens
>The gang are all standing outside
>A guy walks up and records it with nobody noticing
Nothing in this game makes any sense.
the story fumbled at the end but consistently it's the one of the better narratives
I should not have come in this thread. I hope IW is still fun spoiled.
Do Japs really?
yes
i like Punished Daigo
amazing hair.
and dare I say
beautiful eyes
His eyes are beautiful, although I think the most beautiful eyes in the whole series belong to Ichiban.
I like that Kiryu has the fricking balls to call Daigo, Saejima, and Majima pussies for not helping him fight a Gankertuber.
Okay so after playing IW this is how I would rank these games based on their story/characters:
Y3 > Lost Judgment > Judgment > Gaiden > Y6 > Y0 > Y1 > Y5 > Y2 > Y4 > Y8 > Y7 > Ishin
daigos mom is the best
thats the worst ranking ive ever seen
GAAD JO FACE PISSES ME OFF
s-sugoi tbh ne
he's got an eye for talent
Bryce has to be the worst antagonist of the whole series
his voice actor in nihongo is also fricking awful
you hev made me vely plowed
feer nod mah chrirld
no eval can witstand wariaros sperit
i still have no idea why they got his nip va to voice his english lines
He's one of the better "mastermind" antagonists but that isn't saying much.
If you go into Beef Zone they make a fricking Kim reference.
They probably wanted to do that but then realized that Tendo killed Arakawa and thought it'd feel off.
Apologize.
not she's a stuck-up b***h
yeah i'd hit it but man she was a b***h
I feel like this game goes way harder into making Hawaii look like a crime ridden shithole than it ever did any of the japanese cities
America's murder rate is like 24 times Japan's
>America's murder rate
But Hawaii specifically?
All major American cities are crime infested shit holes like unironically
Is there actually just a rundown shithole in the corner of the city that a gang controls, and they just go out wandering the streets at night, but only on a specific night?
Yeah. Look up MLK Boulevard for every city.
There are way more guns and drugs in America, and Hawaii has a massive homeless population. In some ways, it really is a shithole.
Honolulu is a shithole, even a few blocks away from Waikiki.
Real talk. Is Ichiban a cuck?
No. He's just a 46-year-old virgin.
He's off fricking other girls too so ehh.
he didnt raise another man's daughter who fricked the love of his life while he was getting fricked in prison so no
If Kiryu was getting fricked in prison, Ichiban probably was too.
After LJ, Gaiden and 8, I'm starting to look back at 6 fondly.
Why? LJ at least shits all over 6.
Outside of the combat, LJ was dogshit.
Horrible setting, lobotomized Yagami to make the villain seem grey morally, plot falls apart before the halfway point and focusing most side content to that school sucked.
I'd take SAWA SENSEI over the constant plot holes of infinite wealth.
>I mean it, Kuwana-chan. Even after the deaths of Sawa-sensei and those bullies... you're still my nakama
Based Yagami would never
comparing Kuwana to Ei-chan is fricking moronic
>autist doesn't understand what basic empathy looks like
no wonder you can't understand that scene
Even with how annoying it can be sometime. I love how Yagami just keeps shitting on people making up reasons to justify their deeds
>Ehara: I may have accidentally got Sawa involved but that doesn't mean I'm the one who killed her.
>Yagami: By that logic, then the bullies weren't the one who killed your son.
That line was moronic.
Ichiban knows what it takes for someone to rise from the lowest point in their life and knows that being a steadfast support pushing people to do the right thing helps to make it possible.
did kuwana tie a child to a wheelchair and throw her down the stars with a live bomb in her lap?
no big deal dude
you're still my pal
it wasn't a bomb thoughever just tear gas technically
still an explosive pipe bomb at the end of the day because despite only having gas those things can malfunction and explode like a regular pipe bomb
yes but this is yakuza logic and kiryu has never killed anyone despite throwing grenades and firing rpgs at helicopters so the pipe bomb would never malfunction like that
it's the implication
Implications never killed anyone
>I mean it, mole-san. You may be a mass serial killing piece of shit, but dammit you're my nakama konoyaro!
Judgment 3 took a real nose dive in the story, bros...
>Shono, I understand how you feel. I too have a family member that's suffering from Alzheimer's.
>What do you mean that I've never hinted that this person exists? Well, you see my dad actually had another wife before he was a lawyer
>Well, you see my dad actually had another wife before he was a lawyer
ENOUGH
I am so glad yagami beats the shit out of everyone. Frick ichicuck.
Yagami is just the chad version of kiryu and Ichiban.
Chitose is staring at that waitress' chest.
The villain wasn't morally grey. There was a clear bad guy and another guy who seems reasonable at first but then the villain was the guy taken to the conclusion of his ideals.
I honestly think, like alot of people here, you didn't understand LJ's plot or character motivations at all.
I understood LJ plot. I just didn't like execution or how they portrayed Yagami's idealism as the best outcome
>walking near Seiryo High with Kiryu's party
>one of those walk and talk dialogue thingies pops up
>they're discussing the myths that schools used to have back in the day
>Seonhee mentions rumors of a fake corpse walking around at night inside Seiryo High
I love seeing that someone in RGG actually cares enough about the side content in a "separate series" enough to make such an obscure reference that probably only 1/5000 people will ever notice
Just finished 7, frick that ending made me feel it for my man Ichiban...
Gaiden was the swan song. I loved the shit out of that, a perfect game and made me cry like a homosexual
Bad news anon..
>Kiryu meets Kashiwagi in Yokohama
>A great scene where both men clearly recognize each other, but keep prettending that they don't simply because both of them are so determined to leave their past lives behind
Abosulte. Fricking. KINO.
>fast-forward to Kiryu's bucket list event in the bar
>It turns out Kiryu's dumb ass actually didn't recognize him
FRICK YOOOOOOOU RGG
Did you rike it?
My surprise when LAD brought a whole crew back from death to just keep them as side characters for the most part. The frick was the point of bringing back Kashiwagi if he was just gonna literally pretend that nothing happened past his “death” forever ago and remain a nameless bartender?
moron
>>It turns out Kiryu's dumb ass actually didn't recognize him
are you moronic he obviously did even in his bar scene
Anon they were straight up talking about how they'd have a "real" reunion if Kiryu could ever reclaim his old life.
>fast-forward to Kiryu's bucket list event in the bar
>It turns out Kiryu's dumb ass actually didn't recognize him
i cant tell if this is bait, or you are actually just a brown person that is unable to read between the lines.
why is Ichiban such a jobber in cutscenes? he's like the reverse of Dante
how do I get longer battery life for my street surfer
some pawn shops sell batteries for $1500 iirc
i think there are 2 or 3 available
Did you already buy the batteries from one of the ABC stores and pawn shops? I can't remember which ones they are but check them all and you should find them pretty quickly because there aren't that many..
Aroha
>"Tendo-san... you might've been directly responsible for KILLING MY FRICKING FATHER... but since you helped me defeat those Omi goons that one time I'm willing to let that slide, call me whenever you feel like killing yourself and I'll do my best to help you feel better!"
- Infinite Wealth Ichiban, probably.
>Mirror Face
What the FRICK was the point of Mirror Face? Why not just use Tendo who probably could've been convinced to betray Aoki (previous scenes even hints that Tendo doesn't like him that much).
ei-chan failed at killing anyone ichiban cared about so he was okay with him
Nintendo-san was great.
I have Ichiban at level 48 in chapter 6 because I've been grinding the dungeon
autism
theres nothing to do in kamurocho
it's just there for kiryu's memories
Funk goes on plays there so it’s worth visiting.
I find it hilarious how it's super quiet compared to everything else happening
The games had music at absurdly low volume for a while, I always set other sounds and voices to 75-80 before starting.
Does anyone have some tips for levelling up Kiryu's faster? I'm nearly done with all the reminisce spots and everything is around level 7, where everything is super slow
drink links also give him stat boosts. aside from that just check the random side stuff you can complete to do it
>Does anyone have some tips for levelling up Kiryu's faster?
I used a cheat table.
The party swaps happen a bit too often for my liking, and then you get characters joining who are severely under-leveled.
Just do the restaurant circuit
they shouldve put all the old minigame in kamurocho
I may be getting spoiled on IW but these Ichiban posts are hilarious.
It's okay anon-san, even if you do get spoiled on every single important detail of the game, you'll always be my nakama through thick and thin
somehow despite all of this moralhomosexualry he's still less cucked than kiryu or yamai. why are yakuza characters like this
Thanks Ichibro, you are a true Kyodai, you know that?
the spoilers really aren't a detriment at all for this game. even if you go in knowing how it ends or whatever, there's always some other smaller details or shit like side stories you haven't heard anything about so that will at least still contribute to something
Side stories are legit more fun than the main one sometimes.
Too bad IW's sidestories and side content suck too.
Remember, an important man once said, if you kill your enemies, they win.
nobody important ever said that
Bruce Wayne?
>let it snow
Alright chudbros get a load of these facts.
Only RGG games worth playing are the PS2 yakuza games, 0 and Judgment.
And 4 it's both kino and hammy
4 has the most infuriating moment in the series for me and it doesn't even involve the rubber bullets.
It's everything after you beat Munakata
>Tanimura throws away his gun as he's not willing to kill Munakata
>naturally, Munakata grabs it and shoots Akiyama
>somehow, the MONEY in his breast pocket is enough to block the bullet
>Tanimura throws away the gun AGAIN
>Munakata gets to suicide and not face any real punishment
>*drips manly tears*
Sugoi..............
This one makes no sense. Ichiban went out of his way to drag Howaiian Jingu to prison so he could rot there for the rest of his life and even denied him his suicide attempt.
Is this the new arthur posting?
I hope not, the last thing RGG threads need is more low effort template posting.
yes
>This one makes no sense
exactly. it's literally THAT easy to just write a scene / concept the same way Yokoyama does
>The Four Amons have tag-team moves that reflect party members too
>It's Ichiban, Kiryu, Joongi, and Adachi
Tomi and Chitose bros...
XDD
Do sujimon trainers respawn or can you clear the whole map?
They respawn.
They respawn. If you wanted to, you could fight the same one multiple times to unlock the gym.
Give me an RPG game to play where the MC isn't spineless as frick.
>63 hours in
>chapter 13
>plastic surgery asiatic joins the party
This might be my least favorite game in the series. The story and the content do not justify the length.
Do you think Date took the Harbor Light bartender and shot her to death after the events of IW?
>Always in the background listening
>Knows more about Kiryu than half the cast after all the conversations
>Constantly watching, always hearing
the kiryu substory shit makes absolutely zero sense because most of them are locked until after the vtuber exposed to the world that he's alive anyway but he still keeps up the LARP and everybody still has no idea he's alive aside from akiyama
>Nakajima's drink link dives into the Tatara-Chan video and wanted to keep Kiryu under raps
>Very next drink link with Kaoru goes into depth about the impossibility of Kiryu dying despite everything he's been through, ignoring the fact that there's A FRICKING POPULAR VIDEO GOING AROUND SAYING THAT HE'S ALIVE. AHHHHHHH
HACKoyama
I thought she steps out whenever Kiryu and Date are talking (outside of the beginning parts when Date says that he has someone to meet).
>that party talk about Adachi unmuting during a group call to sneeze
Holy shit he is LITERALLY me
A lot of the chats featuring Adachi are really funny, like that one and how he has his phone upside down for the GPS and he's getting mad at the phone for shitty tech instead.
You mention the shark and not the fricking kraken?
I don't think anyone b***hes about the shark or the squid it's not any more ridiculous than tiger dropping the tiger in the temple in 2
I saw someone explicitly say last thread the shark/kraken is why the story sucks and not the very many more valid reasons.
if they are they're moronic since you fight a tiger in 2, Saejima solos a giant bear in 5 and I'm sure there's other instances I'm forgetting too. but yes everything else related to Bryce was completely awful including his terrible engrish
Also Gaiden had the fake Ryuji fight where you fight 2 tigers and him in a cage match.
Maybe they overcorrected a little but I really do feel like Kiryu is done now as a main guy. He may make some appearances but not as the MC anymore.
If I'm wrong despite this extended goodbye then yes, I too will be mad at that point
>Sorry Chitose no I can't frick your young flexible petite body even though you're begging me to because I'm still loyal to a woman who said she only wants to be friends and then ghosted me for a year
what the FRICK was his problem?
She dadzoned him though.
he turned her down because he was still cucked to saeko even before that when she drugged him
no she didn't
she clearly like him and admits so during the beach cleanup scene but ichiban says he likes smoker mcgee
Oneitis brain tumor.
Many such cases.
Sad.
pussy whipped moronic simp syndrome
seems pretty realistic to me, probably the most realistic part in that whole dumpster fire of a plot
The bigger question: Who would want to marry an ex hostess?
pathetic manchildren with no self respect
literally every yakuza protag is cucked or a virgin or both
>Kiryu: keked by Yumi
>Majima: keked by YUME
>Saejima: cucked by the law
>tfw Kiryu gets to taste Haruka's sweet JC dicky every day but you don't
No wonder Saejima was happy to go back to prison.
haruka is only for chinese men sorry
what went wrong
bro mouth the frick, did her chin grow in length a couple of inches or did he mouth just slide upwards towards her nose too much?
K3 is already ruined
>those lightless, soulless eyes
>jet black hair
>goofy looking smile
That's not Haruka, that's Haruki, her evil Dragon Engine twin.
the now gone porn animator did a better job touching up Y3/4 Haruka's model than RGG themselves
>Saejima
>dicky lover, can't get any though
>Shinada
>obsessed with a literal prostitue, cucked
>Akiyama and Tanimura
>no b***hes, only girl Akiyama liked died, probably too much of a pussy to frick Hana
it's truly over
>probably too much of a pussy to frick Hana
had they not immediately given up on Akiyama as an actual protagonist and also stood with Aya Hirano.
The only reason he's not in 7 is because his VA was busy
>architect akiyama
and I thought he couldn't get any more based
Never connected that. The only protag to avert that fate is fricking Kaito.
majima did at least briefly have a wife before she aborted his child and he savagely beat her
>Koreans
Not even once.
How nice of Yamai to keep up the tradition
Next yakuza protag should be a gay dude
you're kidding right? there are probably tons of dudes who would line up for their favorite hostess' hand if she was actually looking for it.
>perfectly round head
looks like fricking karl pilkington lmao
who would pick this mank twat over Chitose
pay attention to the dialogue lol, she doesnt wanna frick him
Ichiban clearly thought she wanted to frick him before she drugged him and rejected her due to his feelings for Saeko you autist
she wasn't actually trying to frick him then, you midwit - she was just playing him
no shit moron but Ichiban clearly thought she was and rejected her because he was still obsessed with Saeko, whether she actually was or was not is irrelevant to the point
>Only 2 more Drink Links and I never have to touch them again
>All these people shitting on Bryce's kino shitty Engrish
you hev not med me vely plowed
embrace tradition
anderson didn't really speak engrish he just spoke very stilted and awkward but he still pronounced things generally okay and didn't have a strong accent
How in the frick did he survive?
How did Kashiwagi survive a helicopter minigun?
How did Lau Ka Long survive a bullet to the head?
answer is always rubber
Anderson didn't speak Engrish he was actually voiced by a white dude it was just shitty voice acting
that's the point, they should've found some white dude on the street to voice him or just switched to the dub track for the english scenes. heck there's actually plenty of times where npcs speak english where they just use the english dub/english voices for both versions
The most bizarre shit is that Dwight actually has a separate Eng VA from Danny Trejo when he's speaking English in the Japanese voice track.
it's incredibly jarring. sometimes they'll use the english dub which sounds okay, other times it sounds like they just got a random white dude off the street so the english sounds fine but it's godawful voice acting like that corrupt cop, other times it's just blatantly a japanese guy struggling to pronounce english
he was a white guy and spoke fine english though
he wasn't a literal japanese guy speaking really bad engrish
He may be really bad at speaking his native language that he spoken for 90 years but goddamn if he isn't nihongo jouzu.
Why did they mention that Bryce was like over 90 years old or something? what was the point?
>was like over 90 years old
Why the frick did they even lock him up then instead of just putting a bullet through his head?
There's really no justice to be had at that point anymore since for all you're aware, he could suddenly dropped dead of poor health or old age itself after one even a year into serving his sentence.
Things were getting so stupid I almost expected him to have a radioactive Lazarus pit keeping him alive and that it would be used to cure Kiryu.
>Eiji shutdown the first dissolution since he hates yakuza
>He pushes for the second dissolution which contains all of the same people that he hated
I'm at chapter 13, does this get explained? The plot is so incoherent that it's ruined my enjoyment of the game.
>P.ZA
>Enter thread
>ESL Discord troons seething about Yakuza
errytime
it's been like this for a few days now. There are two English mangling fricks who admitted they haven't played the game and "looked up leaks" to "know it's a bad game"
like I want opinions from morons who didn't play the thing and watched a video like moron zoomers
You've had multiple screenshots and photos verifying that people have played the game. Stop being factitious. IW is a poorly written game.
>two people in particular means everyone
frick off moron, I already said the story is flawed as frick but why I'm not going to say it's a bad game
I don't give a shit about Bryce's Dr. Evil island
I preferred the island over like the sixth fricking trek up the Millennium Tower for the endgame.
Seriously, can they really not think of a better locale for the endgame? 0 had a boat, 2 had a construction zone, and 3 had a hospital roof. They clearly can do something else.
to be fair 2 and 3 are basically the same shit, just the top of some building.
the only one that's materially different in any way is 0, and Gaiden and maybe if you count 5 even though it's just reusing Tojo HQ
oh and I guess 6 took place in the shipyard technically even though it had the milennium tower trek right before that
Cute and Romantic Kiryu-Haruka Baby-Making SEX!!!

I'm surprised Mirror Face didn't show up in Infinite Wealth.
>First RGG game made since Sega went all in on ESG
>The villain is nuclear energy
Thanks for ruining almost everything I care about Larry.
>Han-Samaaaaa
>Save me Han-Samaaa
How does Geomijul keep functioning when everyone below Seonhee is a fricking moron?
because everyone bows down to seonhees feet
i wish they kept Andre Richardson's old voice actor, he sounds too uncanny in both japanese and english since it doesn't sound like him anymore.
>Kiryu getting cancer in the uranium pits because he's just there and has to be there
>Bryce's Epstein Island to groom people to work for him
>Hanawa dying in a really lame way despite being built up through most of Gaiden.
>Cheetos betrays the party on several occasion but gets forgiven
>Eiji indirectly kills two people and betrays the party when they were so close to the finish line
>Kiryu is revealed to be alive via the Tatara channel but lol it hardly matters for the Life Links that happen AFTER that.
>Rubber machine gun
>Rubber fall
>Somehow less dumb than rubber bullets according to some
cheetos being forgiven I can understand since she tries to help the party of her own volition due to her guilty conscience before she's even exposed to be a traitor but forgiving eiji and begging ebina was moronic
I'm surprised that no OST from Judgment or Lost Judgment could be found. Even some of the battle themes would be cool to hear.
Interesting floor layout
I just spent the past 6 hours on dondoko island. I'm not leaving til its at 5 stars.
I cant figure put how to put down paths. It keeps telling me to connect them even though their connected to the built in path.
Are you being a dumbass like I was and thinking that you have to build paths unit by unit?
You pick where you want to set the path, hold A, press up to decide how long the path should be, then release A.
>their
Oh, that explains it. You're a moron that doesn't even know first-grade English.
Generic gang wars, assaults and government shittery would be fine. The writers just horribly frick it up.
I can see a new protag, then a reboot with a edgier and violent Kiryu
Shinada bros it's our time...
I miss this based moron like you wouldn't believe.
I wish he comes back and get ruined so you annoying c**ts finally shut up
cope. Shinada chads will always keep winning
More like whining
>Can we get a new protagonist now?
Say no more.
As brain dead as it was I still enjoyed the Sujimon stuff.
i hope tatsuya got to dick down saki at least once
>Ikibaaan
They're absolutely making Kiwami 3 already and I am not looking forward to it at all.
>current DE lighting for Daytime Okinawa
>probably a ton of rewrites because Yokoyama hates it
>Haruka model already shown to look more goblinlike
>Richardson will speak Japanese
>Pretty much all major characters like Hamazaki, Kanda, Tamashiro, and Nakahara will be replaced by facescanned actors probably(Tamashiro out of necessity since the actor is dead, but that means we'll lose out on his VA's fun slimeball performance)
>a lot of the goofier sex joke/pandering moments like the Kanda QTE or the Kazama bossfight cutscene
>the more interesting substories like the murder mystery one will probably be stripped down to be more simple, and others will be replaced with 0 references or they'll turn most of the orphanage moments into substories and take them out of the main quest
>Combat will be way too easy both because modern Yakuza is too easy and because they're scared of the criticism 3's combat had
>the fun post game modes will be gone
>Hostess Maker will be turned into another Yuki and Koyuki thing and the original song will be replaced with As You Like
>in general the soundtrack will be worse
>VA re-recordings will probably lead to worse performances overall like with K1 and K2
I already know it's coming, too many signs point to it, and I am genuinely against it.
>modern combat will be too easy
all of the games are easy how is this even a complaint. 3 was literally just tiger drop: the game
The loss of that stuff is honestly one of the things I don't like about dragon engine combat and to a smaller extent, Yakuza 5's combat.
almost forgot
>revelations will be back but the original heat actions they gave you will be replaced with lamer ones probably reused from 0 and 6
>or they'll turn most of the orphanage moments into substories and take them out of the main quest
Isn't this what people have been asking for since the game released?
yes, but people who ask for that are wrong.
Is it really happening?
i remember hating Yakuza 3 back in ps3 days
there's a lot of signs
>Gaiden referencing Inner Fighter
>Infinite Wealth having Revelations-like cutscenes for unlocking certain jobs
>Infinite Wealth has a remade Yakuza 3 Haruka model that's only used for a few seconds in game(meaning it was definitely made for something else)
>Gaiden also ported some Yakuza 3 movesets into the Dragon Engine like Mine's and Richardson's
>RGG has 3 projects currently in the works, meaning a remake would make sense as a quickly put out little project as one of the three
>RGG has 3 projects
what projects are those? Kiwami 3 and what? i wanna hear the rumors
If i recall they leaked a Goda spin off game some years ago
Is that why they keep doing
>look Ryuji's alive! Nah, not really...but maybe?
found the image
great another secret korean story
I feel like this has to be just some early version of Gaiden or something, because the model is Fake Ryuji from Gaiden
joong hi wasn't in gaiden though
would be interesting to see if they literally just adapt the Ryuji Goda story from RGGO. Would also set an interesting precedent where people start wondering if they'll do that for any other stories from that game. Also would be interesting since pre-Yakuza 5 Shinada is in that, so is Joon-gi Han
>Dragon Engine Combat
>Rikkiya and Mine will be re-localised to be blatantly gay
>Park will be introduced in a substory as with dozens of other shoehorned foreshadowing to cope with Yokoyama's schizophrenia in later titles
>Funny man Majima coming to Okinawa in substories because haha funny stalker man
>Changed substories, such as the booba camera angle in the kidnapped dog substory
>Kiryu changed to be emotionless and depressed as in Kiwami 1 and 2
>Fly remix will be shit
If I could dissolve the entire studio and put the IP on eternal hiatus, I would do it in a heartbeat. Everything since Zero has just been a barely recognisable mess.
and Mine will be re-localised to be blatantly gay
They don't need to change anything to make Mine blatantly gay.
Kiryu was already gay for Rikkiya in the original he had a stronger emotional reaction to his death than Yume's
I can't believe you missed the incredibly obvious one of setting up Kashiwagi surviving.
Nah, they're not going to do that. They didn't change the writing in Kiwami 2 to make Kaoru suddenly being written out of the story in Yakuza 3 make more sense, so they probably won't change those blatantly needed changes either.
how do you think they'll set up ka long surviving
I love Ichiban so much bros its surreal
I did in 7. He's a caricature of himself from 7 in 8. Especially by the end of the game.
I like him too. They made him a bit too cucked in this one but I like that they didn't just make him a Kiryu clone like a lot of franchises do when trying to replace their protagonists
same, he's a sympathetic idiot
whoever said the main-minigame is trash is a fricking moron kek I'm having a blast
Main minigame is Dondoko Island./
that screenshot is from Dondoko Island
Oh right it's from when you unlock the farm.
>whoever said the main-minigame is trash is a fricking moron kek I'm having a blast
I should also add one of the memoirs you get is definitely locked behind a story mission in 14 it's related to Ono Michio and there's another one related to the Hobo leader so those are assuredly ones you're missing and can't complete yet
Chapter 14 is the final chapter.
Kiwami 3 will suck, but Kiwami 4 I actually think will be good, because a lot of their typical trappings would actually translate to that game way better
>Majima wank means that Saejima will probably get cool stuff that lets him hang out with Majima in Premium Adventure as well as extra scenes that show them when they're younger just being bros
>Rikiya Koyama is more confident and open with Saejima so in general they can give Saejima more stuff like actual Karaoke songs and shit like that
>Akiyama getting the Cabaret Management minigame would actually make sense
>Already uses facescanned actors, but now they'd look even better
>they've gotten better at managing multiple protagonists so any story restructuring would be to the game's benefit
>Tanimura having a new actor means they can probably do more with the guy during his section since it's less restrictive
>they can actually give Kiryu and Tanimura real side modes that aren't just street confrontations but with a different name
the only negatives would probably be the soundtrack being worse honestly, but i feel like overall, a K4 would actually probably turn out good
#notmytanimura
This guy is really annoying to fight.
>Going through Hawaiian Haunt
>Floor 2
>A little weak but thats okay
>Fight one of these guys, know their moveset already
>Except not
>Merry Christmas crits and kills Ichiban instantly
I am starved for money.
Which is the mini game which gives me cash.
And when does it unlock?
Feels like I should grind the minigames before I outlevel their gear rewards.
i feel like Kiryu in the spotlight in this was a mistake
>i feel like Kiryu in the spotlight in this was a mistake
Kiryu's scenes were the best part of the game and his storyline was way better than Ichiban's.
Because that was a trick to get you to play it and now you need to have played every single game in the series for Kiryu's side stories to land at all.
That's the point, they forgot about Ichiban with Kiryu in the spotlight, Ichiban plays like Vaan in FF12 a NPC in his own story
It really feels like they wanted to do a finale for Kiryu game and a sequel for Ichiban game and they blended them together.
Honestly, gaiden + Kiryu's side should've been its own full length game and Ichiban should've gotten his own hawaii game where he actually gets to meet his brother more than once.
>i could just as well skip the rememberance cutscenes and the dialogues with this date guy cause for me all the characters are WHO
You shouldn't even do them if you haven't played the previous games, they won't make any sense.
i could just as well skip the rememberance cutscenes and the dialogues with this date guy cause for me all the characters are WHO
what yakuza game should i play after this?
i'm a bit annoyed by the kiryu remembers parts, because it all makes no frickin sense to me since i only played 7 and 8. why does this game provide so much closure for the series even tho 7 seemed like a spinoff where i need no background knowledge?
if you want to catch up the intended playing order is
0 > Kiwami 1 > Kiwami 2 > 3 > 4 > 5 > 6
If you really want to be a purist you can do Original 1 > Original 2 > 3 > 4 > 5 > 0 > Kiwami 1 > 6 =>(order doesn't really matter between these two) Kiwami 2
but speaking as someone who started with the original PS2 games there's really no reason to play them over the Kiwami remakes other than muh sovl
oh I forgot about Gaiden which you'd play after 7 but you already played 7 so after 6
Everything in Gaiden was retconned though.
except it wasn't at all
Hanawa and kiryu's friendship? Retconned
Pocket circuit fighter being there? Retconned
Daidoji's grasp and competence? Retconned
Nishitani and Shishido? We didn't see them but they're probably retconned too.
>hanwa and kiryu's friendship? retconned
no it wasn't
>pocket circuit fighter being there? retconned
again, no it wasn't he retired at the end of gaiden
>daidoji's grasp and competence? retconned
this isn't a retcon and they were moronic jobbers in gaiden anyway
>nishitani and shishido?
written out like literally every other defeated villain in this franchise
Kiryu says, "Oh, he was just my handler" after Hanawa got killed.
he's describing him as his handler as a matter of fact not to diminish his relationship to him that said Kiryu's lack of reaction to his death is moronic and shitty writing but hardly a retcon

minus the multiple improvements on gameplay, yamai was the best part of this sad excuse for a story and it's not even fricking funny (along with a few kiryu story beats)
i AM glad that they pretty much instantly out bryce as being the overseer because as soon as he was introduced it was clearly obvious. i honestly thought that when wong tou was telling ichi and the crew, he was going to get joon-gi'd and yokoyama was going to drag it out for multiple chapters as if it wasn't expected
>yamai was the best part
this is true but why did they have to make him such a giga cuck. he's probably the most cucked character in the franchise which is really saying something
I want that bully girl Akane from LJ to appear as a hostess in the next cabaret minigame.
So what are the best seals for each ultimate weapon: elemental type if they have one, higher chance of crits, and more MP siphoning as a baseline?
sealing my dick to seonhees feet
Always more MP siphoning, the rest depends on the weapon.
depends on the job
my Tenis Ace Chitose has Bullet damage seal, MP Siphon and crit rate
so far hers is the only one i got, gonna go for Ichi's Hero bat and Kunoichi dagger next

The plot being moronic as frick with things like this is par for the course so of course everybody knows and nobody cares that nuclear waste isn't actually a real life issue.
normalgays absolutely fall for bullshit about nuclear waste. Look at Germany IRL and what happened there.
Had nothing to do with nuclear waste, and everything to do with every single germoid being a Putin asslicker
That's just backdrop. Nobody cares about things like the nuclear waste disposal not making sense. You might as well complain about the fact that the yakuza rebrand as a non-profit organization with full government support, despite that not being how any of that works.
>Dungeons have a "Start from Boss" option if you've reached the final floor but haven't fought the boss yet
Huh, that would've been helpful to know.
>try to look up RGG r34
>filter out the gay stuff
>gay stuff keeps showing
I give up.
