No idea if the other anon is still around but egos probably cost more shards than identities because abnormalities are more popular than most of the city factions.
That really doesn't make much sense I think. They are limited compared to IDs, which you can get dupes out of. It's not a question of popularity, but probably more of a "If you really want this EGO, pay a lot of shards, or roll it".
Plus, saying they're more popular is not really hard fact, considering how hard some people like certain fixers.
More likely EGO are gonna end up being at a stupidly low rate when compared to identities. The cynic in me thinks that each EGO actually has their own rate, and rolling one increases the rate of everything else.

I've seen a fair few things that make me skeptical, but I can't really confirm firsthand like I can with japanese so I can't say if it was just anons bullshitting or legitimate translation blunders.
It's one of those situations where the translation has no proper way to exemplify what the original meant to convey without localizing it, so you're forced to pick a substitute.
Most of the time there's no real way to please everyone in these cases.

Some anons were discussing that maybe the idea behind “stripping away control” is to prevent hardcore focus fire, but soon we will see how complex it ends up being, I for once have no problem with a more complex game, but it could have the problem of scaring away casuals, time will tell

For EGO I get the feeling we'll only have up to HEs with higher tiers dripfed as they add the later chapters and more difficult content.

EGO is an additional skill you can use, kinda like the EGO pages in Ruina. They cost Sanity and require Sin resources to use and have powerful effects. Using them too much will make your Sinner go schizo.
It's in the same gacha as the characters. Once you get it it disappears from the gacha pool.
Some others can be obtained in other ways, like the Battle Pass.

Usually things like that stay in the gacha forever and you also need dupes to max it.
No dupes for characters or anything. Dupes give you resources to upgrade them or buy them directly from the shop (including EGOs).
You do need dupes for upgrades or at least it will be useful, but only identities, since is not possible to get the same E.G.O twice, the thing is you don’t really need specific duplicates, each time you get a sinner identity you get currency belonging to that sinner, and you use those to purchase other identities, E.G.O or the upgrade materials, yet you can also get said upgrade material from other sources, but obviously we don’t have the full numbers yet

Again, this is way too early to be drawing conclusions. We don't know how much you get out of regular content both for currency, and threadspin. EGO is indeed ultra expensive though, but I think they mean to try and have people want to attain certain EGO if they can't hit it on the gacha.

Also I usually love niche games with strange gameplay and almost no fandom (Drakengard before NieR even existed, Anima, The Last Story...) so I wonder how much can I enjoy it, also reading that LoR has a difficulty spike that is abysmal makes me a lot interested to see how it is.
The limbus characters are new, and they're based off books, Moby dick, Don Quixote, The stranger, Wuthering heights, metamorphosis, etc. The guy who guides them called Vergilius is featured in a comic/web novel that happens before this, but otherwise no previous characters.
We could end up running into someone we know from previous games at a later point, but so far, it's all new.
The main cast is completely new, though they're manipulated from behind the scenes by a returning character (whom you likely won't meet for the first few chapters). That's what my guess is, for the first few months you'll get shenanigans with the new crew, and you'll only meet old ones after a few updates. You'll have plenty of time to catch up while simultaneously playing this game
The difficulty spike in LoR is there, but it was nerfed because people thought it was too difficult. LobCorp is the one where the real difficulty spike is. You might also enjoy the gameplay in both, it's really strange and frustrating but simultaneously somehow fun

Do not claim shit without actually understanding it then. Read the current chapters available too, there's no harm in it. We know Iori wants to open an association based on the old post credits scene in LoR, and that's potentially what LC2 will be about, but we have no idea if she has a hand in running Limbus. And what she does is more like frick over Vergilius's life by not stopping Tomerry from killing most of the people in the orphanage he was providing for, and wishing to capture Tomerry for some purpose, but we never saw her again after that.
I'm not mousing over the spoiler, but alright, I acknowledge my mistake. If Iori has nothing to do with the current cast, then that anon has even less to worry about

I like supporting devs (more if they are indie) so I'll only try like 2 or 3 hours at max of LoR (and LC in the future), and I'll decide if I shall buy it or not. LC is not really simple if you mean story wise, the gameplay is woven into the narrative insanely well, it's definitely something best experienced played.
Plus Library of ruina is a direct sequel to it, which spoils some stuff.
just so you know, lobotomy corporation is the first game, library of ruina gives major spoilers from it right at the start so it's highly recommended to play that first

Unlike Limbus, the order you play LC and LoR on matters. Those two games share characters, and certain things only makes sense if you started with LC
Also, if you like experimental games, then LC is far more experimental and whacky with its gameplay. 2-3 hours is, sadly, not enough make an informed opinion on LC. If you look at the difficulty curve in the introductory image you'll see why
The gacha is potentially an entry point, but if possible, you really want to play LC and Library of ruina to add to the knowledge of the characters and the setting, which is one of it's strengths.
Get to it and play Limbus as you do, and you'll be fine.
If you end up enjoying it, check out Ruina. LobCorp is a whole different style though.

Yeah, I could understand is not a game for everyone, but its still worth a try, for the story at least, if they can’t really handle it, looking for the story cinematics is an alternative or using mods to make the experience easier, not optimal but better than just skipping it completely IMO

You use your Lunacy to pull for Identities AND EGOs on different banners (each with different chances for select ID types, Sinner IDs and the like). Once pulled, EGO can never be pulled again, increasing the chance for IDs or new EGO. Dupes of IDs transform into shards, through which you can buy select IDs and EGOs, while newer ones get added to the pool each update.
Monetization seems to rely heavily on the battle pass for more runs of the Mirror Dungeon, faster access to specific EGOs, and more pulls.
Compared to other gachas and ignoring the fact that we know little to nothing about pricing and the flow of Lunacy or other resources, Limbus is looking to be well om the generous side for gachas, but we'll have to see. We have reason to be somewhat optimistic though.

This, a 3ed game (like the dungeon crawler we should have gotten) would be a day 1 buy for any project moon fan, would have made money from the sales (lets say 30 to 40$ a copy) and would have sold even MORE then LoR thanks to word of mouth from the past 2 games already being out there.
BUUUT the director being korean and all somehow things that "gacha = endless money" when the VAST majority of gacha games fail, and the ones that DO well are thanks to big marketing budgets in the hundreds of millions, Coom bait shit, and well known IP's... limbus has non of that.

I think people really overestimat the cost of running a gacha
games that close down usually close down not because they're not profitable (they are), but because the company has higher expectations of their IP and a limited supply of workers, and would rather direct them towards projects with higher returns on investment. This is a problem limbus will never have, because smoll indie company. Limbus could make 100k a month and still be profitable enough to warrant continuing.
Remember that PM has 30 people employed and they need to pay their wages. Here's some quick maths

even in that situation, it's still possible to secure funding from other sources for different projects to get more money to funnel into the studio. There's literally no way for project moon to end up in a situation where all they have is the limbus crew and nothing else, the mismanagement necessary for that to ever be possible would have to be on a legendary scale.
The director is a literary major and is focused on game development/writing. Mismanagement can happen, business is not necessarily his forte

Limited can mean available for a limited time, but not forever. Like say, collab characters are usually limited, but they can get re-runs later. Paid EGO will be limited for a while, and 2 seasons later, it'll be available for crafting.

farmable characters generally tend have the issue of being relatively easy to powercreep, especially when they're present on release or close to it, it's a very hard thing to balance because for every character that comes out afterwards it's going to be either "is it better than a farmable unit" or "why would I farm the unit if it's not better than the one I can just pull"
I don't think that's a problem unique to farmable characters, gacha characters get powercrept too. In the end like the other post said, every ID in limbus is technically a farmable ID anyway, so I doubt we'd see characters that can't be gotten through gacha, it wouldn't make much sense
True, if the shard farming is somewhat generous that shouldn't really be an issue, my main concern was character types that are time + resource sinks like GBF's eternals, who have been getting increasingly absurd with both their power and the requirements to upgrade them due to cygames having to make them feel "worth" the time invested

It's a cool idea to give each Sinner a farmable Color Identity. It could be a super special thing, like you unlock a storyline where you see how they became a Color. Since we'll grow attached to them I think it's pretty cute and wholesome.
The Color Identities themselves should be as depressing as possible tho, like Don becoming the Gold Justice and by getting there she realizes that the chivalry, honor and justice she was so proud of doesn't exist, so she stops larping and is constantly depressed as she mows down everything for Hana Association.

Are W Corp Employees weaker than L Corp Employees on average? The average R Corp employee must surely be far above both, and A and C far above that
back in lobocorp hokma said L corp employees were complete nobodies specifically selected because they were failures and nobody would miss them (at least those locked up with ayin). They are only strong because of EGO, and even then not that strong. Wonderlab kinda threw a wrench in that by having them seem competent so who knows.
Wonderlab has them working on branches, so they kinda need competent people to survive. Unlike HQ, they don't get the benefit of having a manager that can just rewind in case they die trying out a new abnormality to figure out how it works.

Its hard to say since there are alot of variables both known and unknown but if we're just going by Rabbits, an HE Gigachad could probably take on one Rabbit at a time, a WAW could take on 2-3 Rabbits depending on their EGO. An Aleph Gigachad could take on a squad of Rabbits to an entire legion depending on their EGO, type of weapon and strategic placement.
It's actually something that I don't really like, extrapolating lore strengths via gameplay numbers because I don't think things match up so cleanly. With that said, I do agree that a level 5 agent equipped with appropriate gear should be pretty comfortably above the rabbits, but I don't think level 5 agents are really supposed to be considered an 'average L Corp agent' (I know that by end game it's not the unusual to have an entirely facility filled out with more or less maxed out agents, but like I said I always feel like that's a gameplay versus story thing. Besides, it'd be like asking about 'what the average fixer is like' and only considering Kali, Iori, Argalia, Angelica, Roland (ordinary grade 9 fixer be damned))
I sort of only half agree with the first part. The pack leaders are clearly in a tier of their own, but even though it's partly due to the fact that we're exposed to so much of the top tiers (between the colors, association heads, finger bigshots, etc) but the R corp generic minion by themselves are actually pretty strong in the grand scheme of things. And of course this is combined with the sheer numbers that R corp can use to replenish them.
I feel like if you're SoTC tier, you're probably in like the top 10% of the city's powerlevels. Sure, you might not hold a candle to the 1%, but I don't think 10% is anything to be ashamed about.

Do keep in mind that while The Pianist is in between a WAW/ALEPH, he attacked a 'relatively safe' District(which means there would be no actual competent fixers stationed there).
I'd argue a lot lower than 10%, at least 1%. More like a pyramid than a linear scale as far as power levels go. The city has a population of billions so for every individual in star of the city there's probably at least a thousand irrelevant shitter fixers. Kurokumo alone had over a hundred members while on the other side of things Liu section 2, the open warfare specialists the a juristiction of a quarter of the city, have a grand total of 2 (Zwei) grade 1's.
I think that's them as a collective. Or if you want an in-setting region angela setting them as ALEPH to beat it into managers head that he shouldn't be trying to engage them after the fourth reset where that happened. Individually being aleph in terms of power would put each one above the pianist, which seems excessive.

The Liu South Section 2 actually only has 1 (hana) grade 1 fixer (Lowell). Cecil is a Grade 2, and Mei is a Grade 3.
I was going to say it's Section 1 that has 2 grade 1 fixers, but looking at it again, only Xiao is a Grade 1 fixer there too huh.
To be honest, even being generous and saying that the Liu group we see in Ruina is only responsible for an eighth of the city instead of a fourth (assuming there's a north-west, north-east, south-west, and south-east section), and being generous and assuming the captains of sections 3 and 4 are also grade 1s, that still means that there's only 4 grade 1 fixers and like an average of 32 grade 1 fixers for the entire association.
Actually, I wouldn't be that surprised if there was also like a Liu Central Association, or a Liu Main HQ Association which makes up most of the grade 1 fixers that maybe get promoted out of the branch associations. Given we know that Xiao herself despite being the director of the entire Liu Southern Association still has higher up Liu superiors that she answers to back at hq, and the Shi group were pinning their hopes on Yujin becoming the director of the entire Shi association and not just the southern branch.
But yeah, stepping back a bit to look at the big picture, grade 1 fixers are actually pretty rare. (I think it's kind of funny that Martina is a grade 1 fixer)

If anything, I'm surprised that Bada isn't a grade 1 aswell. Cane Office is insanely prestigious, being able to complete 11 Star of The City requests which should speak for itself. Sure, they definitely didn't take care of it by themselves and probably relied on their connections and contacts but still, that's an amazing track record for an office.

There was that Zwei Fixer in distortion detective who was definitely grade 1, by also probably not a section captain (unless this was a situation where everyone else in his section got killed off). I wonder if the Zwei Southern branch actually had more grade 1 fixers than the Liu, if they had non-captain grade 1 fixers in their squads.
Bada is incredibly young for a grade 2. If I recall, he's actually the youngest grade 2 in the game. He's actually a prodigy all things considered.

If we go by this, Vespa is potential Color tier. The main thing it seems he lacks is maturity and patience, but overall he has a lot of room to grow. If we look at ages, if you have potential as a fixer, by about 25-26 you should be grade 5 or 4, and and by 30 a grade 2. Once you're past 40, you probably aren't going anywhere and instead will decline. Unless you're a Color.

I think Vespa clearly has a lot of room to grow stronger, but I don't think that also means we can assume that he'll just continue to get stronger at the same pace and won't just hit his limit.
The biggest problem with this image is that it only shows their current ages, so we don't know what age they actually reached the grade they're in. For example, at the very least we know that Roland and Oliver reached grade 1 at least several years before the start of the game, because they were part of Charles Office, and everyone there was a grade 1 fixer.
Honestly, I don't know where I'm going with this. Xiao seems to think that Miris has the potential to become a Color despite only being grade 2 at the time and his special drop is 'a potential color', so who knows.
I suspect we won't get an answer until we actually see someone get 'promoted' to being a color. Although like Ruina tells you, it's not really a promotion but more the Hana unilaterally deciding 'hey, you're now a color'. It's not like you have any ability to refuse.
One of the traits I associate with Colors is freedom. If I had to guess, becoming a Color also means you have to become strong enough that you don't need to have the backing of an association or being an underling in an office. Vespa probably would have stayed a Grade 1 if he kept just being a Fixer for N corp, but being kicked out probably will help his growth.
I actually disagree. I remember there was a key page story talking about a color's 'freedom', and how despite everything it was a 'forced freedom'. In my opinion, the freest fixer would be those that are at the very strongest level, but still haven't been assigned a color yet. After all, it's not like being assigned a color actually does anything for you, it doesn't make you stronger or richer. If anything, it puts a target on you instead, by making your name more 'famous'.
I think that's the irony. When fixers are starting out, they all aspire to become colors, because they seem to be the freest people (kind of like how the stars of the city work, now that I think about it). But once you actually reach that level, such acknowledgement is unneeded. You already have the power and connections to do anything you like, so the title of color is unneeded.

Arknights, a cheap gacha by gachashit standards, just released a skin for Exuisai + 10 roll pack for 30 bucks. Granted it was originally a BluRay bonus for the anime but still, that's well over LC price.
Orienteer supplies seems to be another monthly pack outside of the BP, since it's not named exactly like it.

You should probably check what the pack offers first. I'm curious what Lunacy bath and supply is though. I assume supply is steady drip feeding of currency to use paid dailies once per day, and maybe some extras, and batch is given all at once, less overall than supply, but given all at once.

By all accounts, Angelica was just Roland but better.
If two people have the same general skill set, but one is slightly better than the other, then it makes sense to give the title to the more skilled person. It's not like colors are just 'once you reach x powerlevel, you're assigned a color', they all have their own niches and specialties. Roland isn't an unga machine like Kali was, he certainly isn't the schemer and make ally guy like Argalia, etc. You could argue that he would he probably been promoted to the new Black color after Angelica died given their very close skill sets and his strength, but then he had his little tantrum against the city and well the rest is history.

I like those personally, plus, the characters are always vehicles to expanding on the lore and the setting, this has been the case since LC. We learn more about what's going on, through the struggle and lives of different people and situations.

My latest schizo theory is that the shard is actually being used as the core of Mephistopheles rather than Dante. Dante is a homunculus created by Faust and a part of the bus, but not physically carrying the shard with him. The window had more than one thing going on at once, overloading his brain, the mirror is a single identity used at the same time. Garnet is getting mindfricked and seeing shit from tons of identities all at once, so he's almost forgetting who he actually is, hence why he narrates bits and pieces as if he's the character he's borrowing from.
The only reason he didn't instantly break is because he was highly compatible with the glass window, while everyone else just broke and burst open into a weird humanoid gem person.

Another issue with the "what if Don was literally Lesti from W Corp jannies" is that... Those characters all are alive. Why would you expand on them by using such a weird method instead of... You know, showing them up?
Hence why it would be better if W Corp Don's sidestory is just more lore on how W Corp or the jannies operate or some funny silly scene with her working there.
I don't think it's necessarily to expand on them but more to expand on the sinner themself, throwing them into different situations to tell something about them their normal life didn't give them the opportunity to express.

I was already sceptical about IDs from the start but okay with it as long as it was just alternate versions of the sinners themselves, rather than other existing characters. Was hoping the fact limbus was using mirror instead of leviathan's window would matter here instead of us getting more stuff like black silence garnet because holy shit that was so dumb I audible laughed when I saw it.

People gets defeated in the Library -> use their books and pages to obtain their secrets and techniques and become stronger.
The Mirror works in that way except I think it's more versatile (you can steal any identity without ever meeting the person in question), except it seems like it takes a toll on your mental health (hence why we pay Identities with LUNACY) and it probably obtains a weaker result than the Library anyway.
But the Librarians don't literally become the person they get the books and pages from. So I assume it's the same for the Sinners with the Mirror.

The library is kind of a similar thing but the fact that you have to actually have the respective version booked makes a difference in my eyes. That and the fact it's not a gacha where we're rolling for the characters. Different paths the character could have theoretically ended up in is more interesting then the same "borrow the skills of this other character" for the second time, especially if we're getting side stories for them.
It would be cool if they stole Identities for no-names tho.

If IDs were just gameplay abstractions like ruina I wouldn't really care but between leviathan, the side stories and the identity art itself depicting a world where Don and Hong are living as warp jannies rather than just Don cosplaying as one it's made out to be a bigger deal.
From a less lore perspective I also dislike the degree of nostalgia pandering it might lead to with the gacha. Having something like Roland-Don who went through Roland's entire story arc as our limited banner not only is silly but retroactively cheapens Roland's own story as well.
From both an internal and external perspective I simply don't like it and can't see a way I will.

It's just Warp jannies. Yuri Faust was literally the first time you could point and say "this ID is a specific character". Also the split seems pretty even for multiple Sinners in one art as well as solo ones. It's absolutely not the same but whatever.

From my understanding of the Leviathan lore and from the limbus prematerial, these were actual things that happened to their alternate selves, and the named identity thing is silly to me if they're going to be railroaded into going through that character's story beats and not as their own people living their own lives. It's same reason why I think Gregor being a generic Liu guy is perfectly fine, but if he was forced to be "Lowell Gregor" I'd find it moronic
All I can say is that if you think what's happening in ruina is just cosplay you're just not thinking about it very deeply or realizing how it relates to how EGO works.

Being f2p for me at this point is mostly because paying doesn't get you enough. Most things tend to be transient in gacha and it doesn't actually make me happy getting it when I pay. Not only that, but the amount of money to make a dent in bad luck is too much.
The packages are always whalebait, the math to roll seems fricking insane to me when relating it to real money. The daily discount roll seemed good but it seems to be something to subtly nudge the player into buying a monthly currency pass.

My copium for Yuri Faust that I hope is correct is that while maybe the standard function of the identity tech can pull a different version of any of the sinners out of the multiverse, it could also have an alternate function which lets you essentially find the version of a sinner closest to any given person, possibly at the cost of extracting DNA/killing the person who you're tuning the identity tech for. Because remember, so far we've only seen an identity based off of Yuri. Maybe you tune the tech for her (after she dies/distorts because that's practically certain), and unlock the Yuri sinners at that point.
It'd still feel kind of weird but that's an explanation I could kind of get behind.
Bonus points if the only reason this function of the identity tech works is entirely because of Dante's shard of Garnet passing on Garnet's freak-tier compatibility with the identity tech (that originally let Garnet tune into extremely specific identities in his fight) to Dante's gacha mechanism.

I've been trying to think about a way that makes it make sense to me, I like the idea that they're just tapping into the collective unconscious and impressing their perception over someone else's memories, resulting in them manifesting the relevant equipment via light (aka pages with extra steps).

I think it's worth it. The first 20 days are the tutorial where very few interesting story bits happen. Try to push through to your first two core suppression (day 21 + Malkuth/Yesod missions), that's when the game went from a 6/10 to a 9/10 for me

You download the game on your phone. Start the game, do whatever, either it has a guest set up and you keep retrying until you get what you want or you use salted emails. Downloading it on steam may or may not immediately hard lock to your steam ID. We don't know. So if you want to reroll, go by phone first until we know for sure. Then after you've done your rerolls go ahead and run through whatever linking or sign in process they have.

Free to play players are self-explanatory
Dolphins usually look at the money-to-roll ratio and only go for the most efficient options. Usually they go for BP, monthly, or sometimes both
Whales just go all in. They range from Duedecimo whales ($25+ a month) to Octavo whales ($100+ a month) to Folio whales ($1000+ a month)
For specifics pertaining to Limbus, wait until its release, when the nerds will do all the calculations. What's worth it, and what's overpriced

Looking at the battle pass video, it seems like the game doesn't allow for ego you've already acquired to show up again. If it's one and done- you've acquired Porccubus, and can now apply that ego to any sinner it applies to- that'll be nice, but I kinda expect it to just be a sinner specific ego drop deal, especially if they've got that built in mirror drop protection.
I think anon was asking if acquiring Porccubus Faust also unlocks Porccubus for Don and Yi Sang, which I doubt.

I've been saving myself on watching the mirror dungeon stuff, and good lord. It looks like so much fun! Random ego gifts, keeping health in mind while switching out star players. I like it, and hope they find a way to make it both difficult and fun, as they previously have.
Arknights (before I dropped it) also had a similar rogue-lite dungeon, and that was a lot of fun. If the core gameplay of Limbus is fun enough, then mirror dungeons will be great
I'm a bit worried about the daily clear requirement, however. No matter how fun something is, doing it day in and day out gets boring eventually
mirror dungeon only has weekly reward boosts. so besides a hypothetical daily reward you aren't required to play it everyday
Dungeons have 5 weekly reward boosts. And the first daily entry into the dungeon - for subsequent ones you have to pay stamina. So the most optimal way is to do it 5 times a week
There's also FOMO. You still get rewards even without the boost, so in order to maximise your earnings, you'll want to do it every day

You can click to delete account, but since it's bound by steam, and it has a 7 day grace period before full deletion
If you really want to reroll, you can bite the bullet and play for a week on your phone/emulator

...and here's where my maths knowledge fails me, haven't had to deal with probability for years now. I'm certain there's a formula for getting at least n of those, you could make a nice plot of it, but I can't remember it

If you hit the 3* on the newbie banner, that's the guaranteed 3*. You aren't guaranteed more than 1, the rest of the 20 rolls are just discounted and the rate of getting a 3* on each roll is the same as standard outside of the 20th roll being the pity timer if you didn't get a 3*.
Think of it this way, when you make a new account you get;
- The specific 3* in the mail from the pre-registration campaign
- A random 3* guaranteed in 20 rolls on the newbie banner, which can be rolled at any time
- And a bunch of roll currency from the mail and tutorial rewards
EVERY account (currently) will have two 3* minimum because you never lose access to the newbie banner and you can claim the specific reward one from the mail. This means on every reroll you have a bunch of roll currency to either:
- Unlock your newbie banner 3* NOW and find out what it is, before rolling standard
- Roll standard until you get however many 3* you are willing to reroll for based on your patience for luck, leaving the newbie banner for later.
In the context of rerolling, you should spend your starter currency on the 'chance-based' 3* rolls (standard/gregor) instead of the guaranteed 3* newbie banner, as rolling on standard does not deprive you of the newbie 3* in the future while rolling the newbie 3* gives you less rolls on the standard/gregor banner
I hope I'm able to explain that well. It's a question of spending limited resources in a reroll situation, you always want to spend those rolls on the banners that offer no guarantee for the outcome since if your luck is poor, you will reset the account. If your luck is good, you keep it and can always do the newbie banner later. It's more rolls per reset to roll standard and leave newbie, saving you a lot of time.

I will preface this with I could be 100% wrong about all of this. This is launch day, and these are my initial feelings towards the game.
I'm struggling to find the proper words for this, and I do want to elaborate further tomorrow (it's 2 am right now), but the most concise way I could put this is: There's (currently, that we're aware of) no aspirational content. There's no way to flex your grinding or whaling. This leads to another stem of issues that's going to cripple it as a gacha.
The gacha element is very shoehorned in, which hurts the single-player RPG side. The game style they seem to be going for also hurts the gacha side. The end result is neither can flourish.
After I finish the current story, unless I really like mirror dungeons, what reason do I have to log in daily? Just the battle pass (which isn't a bad thing necessarily), but I'm pretty sure that's it. I do understand that the gacha is only a small part of the game, but it's completely parasitic; all it does is drain away from what could have been a pretty cool single-player game, while offering none of the dopamine/satisfaction that a gacha CAN bring to the table. Why spend money rolling for a WAW ego when there's no way to flex it?

All the top gachas I can think of do have some social element to them, but it's very ancillary and not the driving point
It doesn't matter what we want from gacha, it's what the expectation is and it's how they flourish. By marketing itself as gacha and then lacking these basic things, it's failing in that regard, crippling itself as a gacha, and ultimately just being a drain on the rest of the game.

moron-kun, most gacha flexxing comes in the form of low-rarity clears of difficult content where player skill carries them over just paying for power. The only time whaling is needed to 'flex' is doing self-imposed challenges like low-op clears in arknights and the like.
Gameplay is nice, but hard agree that it's difficult to figure out which IDs and EGOs go well. I'm currently using one account on PC that I've used all my rolls, and one with no rolls on it whatsoever. Both hold up fine gameplay-wise. I'm hoping PM can balance between difficulty and being accessible for F2P.

Kind of, yeah. It switches from mobile game typical gameplay to something like dungeons where it stacks abnormality fights on you. I've played a good chunk of gacha games, and if we're being honest here, not a single one was because of gameplay. Mobile games in general really. That aside, because I don't want shoehorned waifu/husbandobait in my PM game, something that can easily be done while I have downtime on my job or otherwise is optimal. If I had time to sit down dedicate my brain and time to play a video game, it's not gonna be on my phone. The resources that doing dailies gives you however doesn't give you much of a choice if you want to keep up.

Gregor banner just increases the odds of getting him through it, that's it.
I think it's best to roll standard until you've got multiple 000's that aren't gregor.
If you have multiple 000's, then gregor's banner is better since you can get duplicates, and the increased chance for gregor means his banner will make duplicates less likely (in this scenario). I don't believe there's a good reason to initially roll for gregor unless you desperately want him asap.

I cant clear the dungeon on mobile because my screen (outside of the UI goes black on the map and the sinner icons are just the same fixer).
Also the cutscenes sometimes stop abruptly and you have to skip the rest of it. Seems to load fully if you go on auto from the start tho.

There is a stamina system yes. You can convert 20 stamina for a module, which is a dungeon key, if you want to avoid going over the cap.

kurocum hong glue gets an attack that can recicle the first and second coin if the targets has less tanh 4 bleed, and unless you're running another kurokumo id that's free extra damage, it goes up like 18+ slash and that's untethered

Since the thread hit image limit i can’t post the screenshot but mirror dungeon is very generous with shards. red crates give shards of random sinners while yellow crates let’s you pick a sinner: 1 ~ 3 shards for both crates. makes me wonder if PM is going to balance it out by constantly having limited banners to make people roll or make events enkephalin drainers so people buy more to grind

Just get a good synergy to spam EGO. Altho I had Blade Lineage Sinclair and Yi Sang, Shi section 6 Don, Normal Faust and Ryoushu.
I almost died at 2-19 in the final fight cause I took Rodya instead of Ryoushu so I couldnt spam EGO and got fricking stomped due to not having resources.
Had to use everyone else and managed to clear it easily.
Just get a good synergy to quickly get EGOs and focus on beating the beefy guys that way.
My lineup that I had ha Ryoushu use EGO almost every turn btw. Sinclair every 2 (due to debuff after using an EGO).
Also Shi Don is a beast. She's a secret 000 I tell you with how much damage she does.

I'm running Ryoshu, Lineage Yi Sang and Sinclair, S6 Mersault and Bug Buddha Outis, the majority of my dice are slash. Not being able to control clashes is so infuriating, especially when you get a really close run.

theyre weak to blunt so try running any characters you have which deal that damage type heathcliff and meursault work super well
havta level up, you can come out of ch2 with lvl 11-12 sinners but need 20 for ch3.
Just pretend you stretching content because i assume ch3 is the last one we have right now.
Every fight snowballs in one direction after the first 2 rounds.
You need high level sinners who can dish out enough damage that their regeneration doesn't matter, and also enough HP and defense to avoid getting staggered by a single attack.
Also threadspinning is VERY important if you ever want to win clashes.

skills have a + or - value next to their base value.
You flip coins as you engage in clashes or unopposed attacks. The base value of the skill changes based on these coin flips. The two numbers that you see on the side is the range of base values you could get based on those coin flips.
So if the base value is 2 + 3 and there are three coins it means the potential values could be 2,5,8,11 for a range of 2-11.

I'd say 000s are more important than EGO when rerolling. You'll get every EGO eventually, as the pool decreases with every EGO you get - meanwhile identities can still roll dupes

During the first few minutes of the game, you get a certain amount of rolls for free. 70 in the case of Limbus. Depending on your luck, you can get anywhere from 0 SSR to 10 SSRs. By repeatedly going through the account start process, you can maximise your luck from those rolls

The autobattle function for Abno fights seems to get measurably more moronic the more of them you stagger. If I just let it do it's thing, it would send like 3 of my sinners to beat up on one staggered abno with 2 health

Just remember when rerolling, don't pull on the newbie banner since you can always pull it later to get the 3* guaranteed in it. The rates aren't any better, so rolling on it is 'wasted' chances on the rolls you actually want to redo

dunno how it is now, I've dropped FGO a few years ago, but back when I played it had a decent amount of downtime (but also people were less frenetically demanding about events ALL THE TIME). It was a chill game you could just log in, kill some hands for 2 minutes and log out, and only really pay attention to when there was an event or a story update. I miss when that was considered acceptable for a game. Now the genre has been consumed by the same kind of deranged locusts that have taken over mmos and demand a treadmill of constant farming of something or other otherwise there's "no endgame". I truly do not understand it.

Because most "people" prefer playing 1 game and nothing else. Also the market is fiercer and every game constantly gives you content to do, so games that don't get left behind.
With the new system it seems like Limbus will have it's dose of dailies and I'm happy with it. Currently it's way too empty even for me.
