Since sounds like you won't get duplicates so eventually you should roll the 1.3% often enough to get them all.
400 shards for an ego sounds like a waste. Unless it's the end of seasons, you already have all IDs and enough to buy an ego. Then it's probably worth buying instead of letting them get converted to thread.
Most of the ego in the gacha isn’t worth shit anyways right now.
I think it depends on a few factors like whether you are using daily rolls and if you are the type to focus on a few characters or use them all. EGO is rarer and harder to come by so may be better if you're mostly f2p but at the same time non-dupe 000s get harder to get the more you have while EGO you don't have to worry about dupes.
regular ids can still be duped and as you might have noticed. they seem to plan on adding more and more to the pool . so if 80 % of the draw is 3 stars the chance of getting an ego should get lower even more so when you have already some of em .
the chance of drawing EGO doesn't lower until there's no EGO left to draw, then it becomes 0%. 3* ID and 3* EGO rates are separate.
An 000 ID is a flat 2.8, an EGO a flat 1.3, there's no overlap. Once you have zero EGO left it just becomes a flat 2.9 for a 000 ID and some irrelavent boost to 00 chance, but if there's even 1 EGO left there'll be a 1.3% chance to draw it.
Both when rerolling and when using EGO shards, you want to prioritise 000 identities due to how the dupe system works. Prioritise, not focus exclusively - you might be a lucklet who has most of the 000 identities, but very few EGOs. Or you might want to get some broken EGO, e.g. the Meursault one for the railway shit

It's brainless enough but my ADHD makes it manageable and even a bit fun, plus the BP unlocks are satisfying when they happen.
That said I haven't touched MDs since it was announced rewards were being increased for them. Saving my modules now. Don't believe people saying you're "bricked" though, maxing out the BP is going to be trivial and the only rewards for going over it are shards/threads.
