It will either run perfectly fine out of the box or you might get crashes, in which case you will need to increase the value of /proc/sys/vm/max_map_count, but there's plenty of examples in the protonDB link the other anon sent.

I don't know about steam stuff, but you can just play actual wangan if you want; Everything is cracked nowadays and even has card emulation and netplay support. A lot of the tools are open source, but only built for windows so your mileage may vary on linux, thoughever.

sometimes the cutscenes gets stretched but not game breaking, it is very playable.
i did test it using GE-Proton8-31
forgot to mention, if anyone plays FF14, use GE-Proton for the cutscenes, it fixes that game too

Playing Dragon's Dogma for the first time before the second game comes out. Mostly fun but the escort quests almost made me quit before I learned I could drop a portcrystal at their destination beforehand
